Some of the best and most professional service I have ever received in all my travels were here. There is so many wonderful homemade pasta to choose from, you could literally eat her every day of the week and have something different each day. The flavors and freshness of the food have spoiled me for other restaurants. Whether you choose inside or outside to dine, the decor and ambience are lovely, warm, and welcoming. I will definitely keep this on my list and come back and visit again. Thank you Donato and Valentino for such a wonderful experience.

Tucked away off the street in Rome is a little treasure of a restaurant. We sat outside at a cozy table for two with a white tablecloth and lit with a little lantern and soaked in the sights and sounds of the busy city. The service and food here have been the best we have had in Italy so far. We almost felt like we stepped back in time because the waitstaff was so attentive, warm and professional. The lamb was cooked perfectly and presented beautifully. It was served with chicory (traditional Roman side dish) which was bitter and salty and spicy....perfect. Also accompanied by crispy and flavorful potatoes, so good. I think I stopped speaking when I bit into the lobster pasta for the first time. It was that good. I'm not sure what else to say about it. A must! Bread was presented with our drinks and had two types....one a traditional crusty bread for the meal and a focaccia type that was beautifully seasoned and all very fresh. So so good. (They do not ask if you want the bread, it is brought out and you will be charged a modest price for it. Some reviewers did not like that, just fyi)

after being recommended this spot by a friend, I had to come and try it! The staff was super friendly and welcoming, there was a large wine selection, and as someone who has never tried zucchini flowers before, theirs were amazing and I had a few! the cacio e pepe had more pepper than i personally would have liked. the atmosphere of the place itself was relaxing and very chill. Francesco took wonderful care of us!

Amazing fine wine selection. Best zucchini flowers i've ever had. cacio e pepe was a little heavy on the pepper for me, but still enjoyable! perfect for a comfortable and classy dinner. Francesco took great care of us!

After spending 4-5 hours in the Capitoline Museum, we decided to eat late lunch in this beautifully decorated restaurant. The color scheme was subtle & modern and everything including the bread basket & dinner plates matched beautifully. Our server , whose dream was to visit NYC, was friendly, efficient, professional, & knowledgeable. The bread was freshly baked & the salad was extremely fresh. The green olives were divine. The old school classic, Amatriciana was to die for. The restaurant was filled up quickly. About a mile from the Capitoline Museum located off the main road but slightly hidden in the back alley. Highly recommend!

So incredibly awesome. The service was great, we made a reso in the beginning of the week and they fit us in on the patio. We loved every minute of it. Also got a bottle of wine that was perfecto. 10/10 recommend.

What a great experience for our 1st nite in Rome. We stayed at Spanish Steps and an easy walk to restaurant which is off the main street so not as busy. The inside is small so make reservations if you want to eat inside. It was summer so we preferred it. We at first made a decision on what to order but our waiter, Pasquale changed every item including the wine and he was on the mark on everything! My wife doesn't eat dairy. He ordered the cod carpaccio for her and the buffallo mozzarella with tomatoes and olive leaves for me. He ordered the scorpion fish prepared sautéed in olive oil, tomatoes, olives and capers. I had taglatelle with lobster. Both prepared to perfection. The only disappointment was tiramisu classico which could have been slightly sweeter but we are pretty picky when we speak of tiramisu. There were mostly american diners there which I presume is why the food was prepared fairly quickly but we had just flown in that day and a quick dinner was exactly what we wanted. Definitely should go if staying by Spanish Steps.

I don't do reviews very often but when the place exceeds expectations, I call it out. Especially our server Valentino, super class act.

The service is excellent and has very attentive staff. The only complain was the over cooked pasta and no Al dente at all.

Our hotel manager had suggested another restaurant, but I was apprehensive to try, but did later, more on that restaurant review in it's own post. I rather did what I should have done throughout the trip to, which is to search google for local reviews. This tactic I found to be much better than to trust American reviews for restaurants to visit from Youtube or even here, just because the American touristy taste tends to favor bland or Olive Garden style pseudo Italian. The real Italian taste is much different and something one needs to develop. I was familiar with European Italian food, as I had said before in other reviews that Mexico has better Italian food outside of Italy. Additionally, the good restaurants here in Italy do not open before 7 PM. If it does or if someone that looks foreign to Italy is outside trying to lure you in, it's a tourist restaurant with iffy flavor. At this restaurant my husband had the Lobster pasta and I had the spinach/ricotta ravioli, and we both were beyond satisfied. We also had the artichoke as an appetizer, and trusted the waiter with his suggestion for a bottle of wine. He must have been some genius because the wine went well with our meal. The ambience was cozy and very family oriented, however, the rain outside made it romantic for us. Another key point for this restaurant and it traditional flare was that they brought out the olive oil and red vinegar for our salad and of course olive oil for our wonderful home-made bread. I'm so glad we chose this place for those of us Americans who understand culinary cuisine.

Great first meal in Rome!…read more I loved my artichoke pasta dish with bacon, it was a daily special. The amaretto dessert was delicious! Carbonara was super al dente. Seafood risotto was fresh. Grilled radicchio was like stir fried. Dinner for 3 for 77 euros, impressively busy for a Tuesday night. Friendly staff, easy for English speakers. :)

Super pizza place with a lot of other great stuff on the menu…read more I looked with envy at the other tables who were enjoying spectacular plates of spaghetti with mussels. * * * That said, my pizza was a grand slam home run. Many of their pizzas are quite elaborate With all sorts of exotic ingredients. I went super simple. Gorgonzola. Mozzarella. That's it. Just enough Mozzarella to cut the Gorgonzola and make for a good melt. * * * If you have never had a gorgonzola pizza, you have never lived. Just sayin'. * * * P.S. My lovely wife got a Norwegian salmon pizza. The Norwegian salmon was stacked up high on her pizza As if she was in the World Series of Poker and she was a big winner. I have never seen so much salmon on one plate. After our meal, I made a discreet phone call to the Norwegian embassy in Rome asking them if they still had any salmon left. The woman at the embassy assured me the Norwegian salmon supply was fine. That surprises me given all the salmon that was on my wife's pizza.

However, they had apparently started having dining "outside" which consisted of a few tables-for-two on the sidewalk. My brilliant wife came of with the idea of asking if we could just take two of those tables next to each other so she dined with one daughter and I the other. We probably looked a little funny as we got up to share plates between the table but hey, we were seated in 5 minutes. Car traffic wasn't too bad so that wasn't a distraction though it was amusing seeing delivery bikes coming and going sometimes even returning constantly to the restaurant. Clearly a very popular place. I have to hand it to our waiter, he did a fantastic job serving not just the outside but his inside assignments as well. Guy got his steps in for sure and yet he smiled and was kind through the evening. Not a sign of stress at all. Love that. Food-YUMMY! Since we were on separate tables I didn't my normal "Wait let me take a picture first!" moments lol. We got the Fried Mix to start off with which. I personally ordered a pasta carbonara and the daughter I was sitting with got a margherita pizza. My wife ordered the chicken which was thinly cut breaded chicken slices. I ordered a red (Montepulciano d'Abruzzo) to go along with my meal. Don't have all the foodie pictures because of our split tables but trust me it was all fantastic.
