Closer to 3.5 stars but rounding up for very friendly service and nice ambience. I liked the homey feels of this place. Was looking for a cozy diner type vibe with no loud music or talking. Just wanted to chill. It was a rainy afternoon and Il Caffe Latte fit the bill. I really enjoyed my matcha. On the other hand, my egg sandwich on sourdough with the cheddar cheese and turkey sausage add on, needed a little more pizzazz. The sliced bread didn't feel the freshest and didn't have the rustic feel I'm used to with sourdough. The turkey sausage was cut up in the scramble and felt skimp. The seasoning on the home fries, however, was just right. I enjoyed those! My friend had her sandwich on a croissant with bacon instead. I heard that combo was excellent. Il Caffe Latte seemed to have a good mix of regulars and just passerby's and it was nice to see that dynamic. I would give it another shot! read more

Such a lovely experience here, from beginning to end -- where do I begin? Our waiter was so gentle and patient. Immediately after ordered, he made sure we had condiments, extra napkins, etc. The owner also walked us through the brunch menu, and gave us recommendations. The chai tea was so light yet herbal. Sitting right on Malcolm X Blvd, this cozy spot has so much character. The warm lighting, homegrown artwork, exposed brick and wooden tables & chairs are nostalgic. I come here for breakfast and various lattes on the go. It's less than 5 minutes away from my folks. The chai tea latte with the fresh cinnamon stick is my fav. They include the sticks in the to go cups as well. I'm moving my way through the breakfast offerings and will eventually try the other stuff. I've had the lox platter, omelets, French toast, fresh baked croissants, and breakfast sandwiches. Note: they charge $2 per sandwich for cheese now. Service can be a little slow because they're busy with call in orders as well. Pack your patience. If you're lucky enough to get a seat outside, enjoy the musics & people watching. read more

Really awesome spot my son suggested. Seems like a perfect place to meet up with a friend for breakfast/lunch, or to set up at a table and get some work done. The space is cozy but very comfortable with lots of seating inside and out (in warmer weather). They have lots of delicious looking baked goods, an expanded coffee and tea menu and a long list of brunch options I only stopped in for coffee but saw big, fluffy omelettes, platters of french toast and bagels coming out of the kitchen and everything looked great! And the wait staff will not help each other out. And not sure about whats with the "I flunked my exam today" sour-puss look they present. Example: my glass is empty, I'm thirsty, I'm in a restaurant, "anyone water?" the waitress approaches and I say "can I have some water please" ( my tone was calm pleasant and without any under line intentions. She returns with a carafe of water and sits it down. Ok I'm not a waiter. But its called service. Fill the glass first THEN sit the carafe down. Oh if you want your check make for the door. The best place to visit for great breakfast food and coffee. They have a dine in and take out option. The atmosphere is very comforting and sorta vintage. The establishment played jazz and it definitely set a nice mood. I ordered an ice latte with oat milk. This was by far the best iced latte I've had in a very long time. Third or fourth time coming here and will definitely be my last. Service was terrible when I dined for one. Had to send my order back 3 times for a simple sausage egg and cheese. The way the manager speaks to the employees is pathetic just because we are costumers having some coffee with friends and having fun don't mean we don't observe what's going on around us. I had such a great time there with my friend, and the manager of this place really destroyed the atmosphere. Pretty decent local spot in Harlem. I've ordered from Il Caffe Latte a couple of times. Overall, the food is fine, and the price is well in line (or a little lower) than other places in the area. I will admit that sometimes the service can be hit or miss. This might be one of those places where you should request your check while ordering your food if you are a bit in a hurry. Cafe Latte has been one of my favorite spots in Harlem since it first opened! I would take my dog to Marcus Garvey's dog park and afterwards come and get a mocha latter and the owner always had water and dog biscuits!!! The food is good. So is the coffee. The staff is, contrary to other comments, polite -- at least toward me and everyone else here at the moment. But it lacks the features Yelp says it has. There is no Wi-Fi no less free Wi-Fi. It is not good for working. When I opened up my laptop I was told, politely, to close it. I stumbled upon this quaint (has it all) cafe in Harlem earlier today. As the weather felt very summerlike, I only stayed long enough to enjoy a tropical iced tea. Honestly, that was it, BUT it was all about the vibe that attracted me to this place. I felt welcomed and not pressured to order anything more from the menu even though I sat at a table. But, I had already eaten and it was quiet ( no lines or anything). The energy was positive and serene and to me, that spoke volumes. Let me add that everything looked and smelled delicious as I enjoyed my tea. It was suggested that their brunches are really good---and I'm going to find out for myself soon. Not too sure why this place has such low ratings. I had two takeout orders, both times I got the lamb burger with sweet potato fries. I also tried their iced mocha. I had no complaints. The lamb burger was phenomenal. I personally hate sweet potato fries, but idk what they did to theirs. Their sweet potato fries are like crack. I enjoyed their coffee as well. What struck me the most was how friendly the lady was. I believe she owns the cafe or she's just always there when I visit. But she was so sweet! In a city where the diner is pretty much extinct, this place remains a star. It's charming, retro and vintage. Good food (the Il Caffe Latte egg wrap is the bomb, also the spinach chicken curry soup is one of my faves), excellent coffee and hot ginger tea (giant chunks of fresh ginger with honey!). The owner is Korean and has run this wonderfully for nearly 20 years I think (she used to have a 2nd place uptown that sadly she had to close post-covid). She's so nice and caring - her manner can be gruff (if you're familiar with Korean ahjummas, she's classic!), but behind that gruffness is a very warm heart. she loves dogs and always has fresh water and dog biscuits and gives our dog great lovvies! Randomly wandered into this spot one chilly fall night as I was in Harlem. I was looking for some place warm and some place I could find something savory to snack on before heading to a little get together. I stopped by and glanced at the door to check out the menu. I saw Cajun shrimp quesadilla and I was sold. My friend and I entered. Not crowded at all on a Friday night. Maybe 3 groups in here. We waited by the front for someone to approach us. We couldn't tell if it was a walk in and seat yourself situation or if the workers were just not paying us any attention. We decided to walk up and see what happens. The waiter came right over and grabbed two menus for us. He gave us a choice and we picked a cute little table near the back. The menu had a lot of different options. We settled on the cajun shrimp quesadilla with guacamole, pico de gallo, and sour cream, some ice water, and a slice of fudge brownie cheesecake to split. The quesadilla was made in a timely fashion and the portion was a nice size. It was okay to split and would have been amazing to have on my own. As for flavor is was delicious. Juicy pieces of shrimp, a little kick in flavor, and the tortilla was slightly toasted. With the sauces we dipped and spread generously and it was absolutely delicious. I contemplated ordering a second one. The quesadilla was pretty greasy though, which was strange. Oil was dripping down my hand like a big slice of greasy pizza. Not sure why but it wasn't that big of a deal to me. It was so yummy that oil was overlooked. The waiter and the barista were pretty entertaining. They gladly suggested desserts. I enjoyed the brownie cheesecake. It was a pretty big slice and the amount of brownie to cheesecake ratio was great. I would gladly eat another slice and of course try other treats from the dessert case. All in all I enjoyed my dining experience here. It was unexpected and perfect little treat for the night. The workers were nice and the service was decent. It wasn't crowded and the diners were saw in here seemed to be pretty nice people. The decor was awesome and while you wait for your food you can look around and feel like you're in a cute little art museum. All the funky paintings on the wall would make awesome additions to my house. They also have outlets under the tables if you're running low on phone juice. read more

Went out to brunch with a party of 6. Very small, but it was pretty cozy. The chicken burger was slamming. French toast was okay- kind of dry. But I hear all their burgers are on point. One of the folks we were with said she comes for the salmon burger. She's says it's her favorite. Next time, I will order a salmon burger! Service was okay- didn't give everyone a setting, had to request for two sets of settings.
