Hidden gem diner. In the heart of the Bronx is this beautiful street. We ordered the half n half lemonade iced tea. I got the morirsonando. Wow. It was creamy and sweet, hint of orange. Perfectly made as was the 50/50. The bacon egg cheese was illete. Basic n good. Nice roll. Crispy bacon. The fruit plate was a fresh and refreshing. Perfect for summer with the strawberry lemonade. Best drink of my year. The chicken club was buttery. Big, well made, tasted like a bit somewhat. The capuchino was in a fun cup and good.Hidden gem diner. Wow I wish I would've known about this place earlier it's very good. It's really hard to find good homemade food from diners in the Bronx. I Just to let ya know the coffee honestly isn't all that it's basic nothing special but it is good (nothing to brag about) this is why i gave it 4 stars; however the food definitely gives you that diner taste, the place is kinda old fashioned (not decorated old, it's just literally old not updated) i orders pancakes and bacon .. it was made very fast and it was delicious the pancakes are very big, the ones served to me were that fluffy but it was still good. The pork bacon was delicious aswell. Service was very quick I'm happy i found this spot i will be here more often. read more

This would be my "go to" place for breakfast when I'm in the neighborhood. My family has been here many times before and mentioned that Perry's has good food. While walking in, we were immediately greeted and seated. Our waitress was prompt and gracious. Everything on the menu sounded good and was eager to find out too! I ordered the vegetable omelette, grits and wheat toast. My omelette was delicious. Not overcooked. The grits were lump free & my toast was warm and not burnt. I love Perry's & have been dining at this diner for many years but today I was disappointed to have sat down and was told that it was going to be a 45 min to 1 hr wait for our food to be served to us. This was upsetting cause the food is so good here but I guess cause they were down a chef so there was a wait. read more

Like the other reviews say, this place really has that charming little "classic American coffee shop" feel to it. (Just replace the old white ladies who'd be servers with Spanish people and Asian people. Great service, mind you!) The Asian selection is pretty solid. Awesome fries - large and crispy - great quesadillas. Lots to praise, really no complaints. Okay, the service isn't on par with some fancy pants spot in Manhattan, but c'mon. It's Souf Bronx. I suspect that I was likely the first patron to order the vegetable wrap at Perry's. Upon placing my order, I was asked to repeat it twice and (10 minutes into the wait for food) the waiter mouthed to me "we don't have avocados, but the staff will be back with some soon". So, my expectations were pretty low when the wrap finally made its way to me. I prepared myself for my first bite, unsure as to what I might find nestled in the center, and I found....a rat's tail! Just kidding- nothing but delicious, fresh veggies! The kitchen staff seemingly threw together a ton of crisp vegetables into a salad bowl, dressed them in oil and vinegar, and then stuffed them into a delicious whole wheat-flaxy wrap. Alongside the wrap was a generous portion of thick and greasy fries. While the fries were an added bonus, they were far from satisfactory (hence the four stars). I want to comment on the venue. I remember the old Perry's from many moons ago. The new owners have really snazzed the place up. Between the NYC themed light fixtures to the colorful menu, I really like the new look and feel- very welcoming space. read more

I have been going to Perry's for years and have order only one item everytime-the chicken ceasar salad. Its also probably the best salad that you can get in this area and the most popular. Im sure that there other food is great as well but I have yet to try anything else. read more

Friendly owner of a coffee shop that has been around for a pretty long time. Ordered breakfast for two, to go. One order of grits with cheese, eggs over easy and sausage patty. Did not travel well, 2 american cheese slices placed on top of the grits, with no love whatsoever. The eggs werw scrunched up on the side of the pan and one lonely sausage was included with the platter. Corn beef hash scrambled eggs and home fries was the second order. Potatoes were not cubed or cut potatoes but rather shaved potatoes, bland and boiled without seasoning, which i found peculiar becaise I asked the woman taking my order for extra onions and peppers and she assured me that the home fries already included onions and peppers. I do not know whether i got the right potatoes or not, but they couldn't have been wronger. The corned beef hash was my mistake for ordering, everything else was theirs. I wanted to give them another chance because it seemed like a pretty cool place to come for a quick bite. However, if breakfast was any indication of the rest of the food served , I will have to keep on looking. The toast was great though! read more

I no longer work in the Bronx. Those close to me know that ultimately, that's a good thing for me. That said, there's several things about working in the Bronx that I miss. Perry's Coffee Shop (#2, I guess... because there must be more than one) is one of my totally missable things. When the weather is nice, I take a walk over. I'm pretty sure a local teacher from South Bronx named Paula G. took me here for the first time. If this wasn't the place, I fooled myself into thinking it was. I came here several times, sometimes when I wanted to kill some time in between class visits in a high school around the corner, sometimes when I was just in the mood. It really was the best (and cheapest!) place for french toast and/or breakfast food in the southern Bronx. Plus, no one really talks to you here. And at lunch time? They were never really busy. I like Perry's, and recommend it to anyone who is in that area. Like the Chinese food place and Sweetwater's, the place totally grew on me after time. I didn't spend as much time there since it was kind of a hike, but every know and then? I made the effort to go there and get my bacon & eggs. Recommended. read more

This small diner hits it out of the park! The food is always good, prices are great and it close to home! This is my weekend go to spot! We love going for some great breakfast food! What a gem. So I came here because it's close to my house and it looked like a cute little place. This place reminds me of a little diner on the upper west side. I was glad when this diner lengthened their hours so I could actually try it out. It always closed early before. I went there a few weeks ago with my friend and the people there told me they changed owners. Placed on order through Yelp24. Delivery took an hour. The main issue is when delivery came, lady called and was not very friendly, said "delivery downstairs go down stairs". When asked why didn't he come upstairs she replied "that's not what he does". I ordered a chicken barbecue sandwich, from the beginning I open the foil wrap it had a really funky smell, the cheese also has a bad smell. Overall this experience was the bad. Food is spoiled, long delivery wait time, and unfriendly staff. Rather order form somewhere else. read more

Really loved the food, the atmosphere and the vibes. Happy I found this cozy spot in the Bronx! However, the service could have been better. The food was served in a timely manner but the waitresses was not very attentive or helpful. Really took away from the experience. My coworker told me about this little gem and I loved it. Their fries are awesome. I had a honey mustard chicken wrap (w mozzarella & lettuce) and I loved it. My waitress was also very pleasant.
