This deli definitely lives up to the hype! The staff were excellent, friendly, and efficient, even with a line of customers out the door. My sandwich was phenomenal--fresh, delicious, and made to perfection. The potato salad was incredibly fresh and the perfect side. They're also the creators of the viral Italian meatball ice cream cone that was featured on the news, making this spot a true local gem. Whether you're stopping in for one of their famous creations or a classic sandwich, you won't be disappointed. I can't wait to come back! Metered parking only! read more

G & R Deli - Chicken Parm and Caprese - Delis Near Me - Bronx, New York

Amazing Italian delights! Everything from stuffed clams to different parmigiana sandwiches. The guys working the counter are fast and polite. The place is small but it's very much a typical, old school, Bronx, Italian deli. When you walk in you feel like you're transported to Arthur Ave or Bensonhurst Brooklyn, other well known Italian food hotspots! I definitely will be back! read more

Yes. It was about that time after saving a Reel of the Italian Ice Cream Cone - I tried it. It completely lived up to all the hype on IG. First, let's start with the bread. Fresh semolina hero hollowed out. The bread was so fresh and not soggy whatsoever. Then placed inside delicious, homemade meatballs, baked deli in the deli itself. I ate the sandwich in two settings. It was just as good the second time if not better. You can tell the sauce is homemade, not too wheat, but typical homemade sauce, a.k.a. gravy. The meatballs were tender, seasoned to perfection and did not fall apart. I just loved the whole presentation and the hero itself. Inside the deli, there are many Italian delicacies and hot food available for takeout. They also have so many good cold cuts in the case by the pound. I sat out in front. There is a couple of seats and a table.. Great service and experience! read more

Ordered take out sandwiches for the site. The sandwiches are huge and is made on soft semolina roll. The mozzarella and peppers were amazing. I'm not sure if they make the mozz in house but it was out of this world. The size of the sandwiches are tremendous. Can't wait to try their hot food read more

Sorry there Buddy! But maybe you should actually stick around behind the counter instead of making videos and worrying about what influencers is walking through the door. After you answered a couple weeks ago, I decided to give you guys another try.... Mistake! guess what same sandwich back to the original price.... Which means that if I come in again tomorrow, I guarantee it's gonna be a different price again.. I'd rather go to the supermarket and make my own sandwich... same quality just a ton cheaper without the headache. read more

For starters. I need 10 Stars!! This little gem is SPOT on!!! O- ma- gawd. These sandwiches taste like heaven in a summer breeze. When I tell you my taste buds were blasted with flavor BRUH!!!! These ppl have the freshest bread! That roasted turkey ufff! The preparation top notch! Listen. Im hooked! I also bought some Italian cookies & crackers which were priced incredibly reasonable for the AMAXING ingredients its made with. No wonder the line for this spot is out the door sometimes. Freshest cheeses and soups, fresh made Italian dishes. 10 stars for me!!!! The ambiance is great as well. The service very nice. Quick in and quick out depending on the time of day you go. This was my 1st time buying for myself. DEFINITELY will not me my last. I forgot to take a pic. I was so hungry. I swallowed that sandwich. read more

The staff is very welcoming. The front of the restaurant within the inside of the canopy had an intense odor of urine. The viral meatball cone could use a little bit more flavoring. I'd say the best part of the entire thing was the bread. read more

G&R is a decent sandwich shop I've honestly had better in various places in the Bronx. It was good nothing truly spectacular. Seems more filled with the "TikTok famous" gimmicks. The service is that of any Italian deli lol don't expect a warm happy greeting it's all business. The one bad part is because of their social media popularity you're going to wait 45 minutes if you're lucky for a sandwich, and it's small shop so you might be waiting out in the cold. It was a good sandwich not the best I've ever had. The day I went I had a chicken cutlet, hot soppressata, fresh mozzarella, balsamic glaze. read more

Came here for the viral meatball sub and we were completely satisfied and satiated by this enormous feat. We had a group of four and ventured here on Saturday afternoon for lunch. It was a quick uber from where we were coming from and upon arrival, we were surprised by the line going out the door. We discovered later that it moves pretty fast and that this might be a new thing since the regulars were not used to it. Between the four of us we got 2 meatball subs and two regular ones; the Bronx godfather and Romeo & Juliette. The sandwiches were loaded from the beginning to end with meat and surrounded by a deliciously fresh roll. I particularly loved how the meatball sub is wrapped in foil and placed in a cup preemptively because it can get saucy, ask for a fork to help you dig around before picking it up. Highly recommend this place! read more

G & R Deli - Delis Near Me - Bronx, New York

First time trying this deli after reading all the hype. I was not disappointed, went with the Bronx Godfather hero which didn't disappoint. Stuffed with fresh mozzarella, capicollo, mortadella, prosciutto, supresotta, mixed greens and balsamic, it hit the spot! Interesting to hear a customer try to order a meatball hero and told that they only served the meatball ice cream cone because of a special bread they used. read more

Best sandwich board I have seen in quite some time. Most delis have up a Bosrs Head sandwich menu. These are all created in house by the owners. I wanted to try many so I will return. I was craving meatballs and decided to try theirs. Definitely an excellent Meatball tender well seasoned and great sauce 10/10 You can only order the Meatball cone (17.00) Big disappointment for myself. I just wanted 2 Meatballs and sauce. I also asked for Eggplant Parmesan in a dish . Now the man helping me huffed and said I don't know if we have any? Ok it was the day before thanksgiving and the line was out the door and not shrinking. Don't take that out on a paying customer. I got it though and am grateful. The eggplant was 6.5/10 as it was not ripe eggplant and some spots were raw even after reheating in the oven. Deli itself was loaded with imported Italian goods. Plenty of variety. If you live in this neighborhood it saves you a trip to Arthur. The deli is very narrow so be prepared to bump elbows . There are a few seats outside. read more

My husband and I come from Queens to get a sandwich here when that craving hits... and it hits a few times a month. Love the Palermo, eggplant parm, chicken cutlets, broccoli rabe, prosciutto.... I had to try these sandwiches! They were amazing! It's a small shop, but everyone is very friendly and efficient. There's so much to try it's hard to choose! We got two sandwiches, one with a chicken cutlet literally roasted red peppers and the other was rare roast beef with the fixings. Sandwiches are amazing! Love the seeded bread. I'm sorry. I've tried several times to come to this place. I want to like it but there is one thing I can't get over. The mouth on the workers here are disturbing and disgusting. The last time I went it, the line was long, I didn't mind waiting, I was trying to give it one last shot. But again like the other times, talking about sticking fingers up each others a$$es and smelling fingers after and things like that..... I just can't. I'm Sicilian. I come from a very loud Italian family. We curse, drink, have fun and talk loud to everyone. But there is a time and a place. Professionalism is extremely essential in running a good business. Now again, I love to have fun. And if there was just one person inside who was a friend and maybe that's why they were talking like that, id understand. But there was about 8 people on line. Some older ladies, older men, kids, grown adults... etc. and to stand on line and hear things like that makes me vomit in my mouth. I ended up walking out this time, as well as last time. I don't know if I'd go back again. I wish I could try again but the mouth on these guys is horrible. Keep it in the kitchen boys...... that's my recommendation read more

I wish I lived here just to have time to eat EVERYTHING!!!! It's all fresh and delicious AND the meatballs are just like grandma's ...yes I said it! Sooo good. We had the 'meatball cone' and even the cheese was ridic sprinkles from the heavens. Great selections made and also to buy. Ambiance is welcoming with the nicest owners and everyone that worked there! Sup' Frank!!! As a prior east coast girl living in SoCal I miss this and it's sooo needed!!!! When I come again I need to have the penne vodka and chicken parm! read more

Great sandwiches and their sweet and hot sausages are very good the employees go out of their way to make you feel at home

Can for the viral meatball gone and it was pretty good, not the best I ever had but decent. What I truly enjoyed was the service- it wasn't busy- thankfully I came at a good time. Food was made quickly and before leaving I was asked if I wanted free food to go. Left with free chicken cutlets, lasagna, and hot sausage and peppers. It was a great experience. read more

Overrated in my opinion. Really hyped up on social media, which for me inversely correlates with how much I can take an establishment seriously. As soon as a restaurant has a TikTok account, it's sort of game over for me. The sandwich was fine but sort of without love. I find this deli is the sort of place with a lot of ego and pride but not necessarily a lot of love. Call me crazy but I think the orientation of an establishment ultimately is infused into the experience of the food. The people who work there make lots of crude jokes as they work, give off "it's-a-man's-world" vibes, and there are large Trump flags hanging on the side of the restaurant. All around just like a hub of misaligned values in my book. read more

Got the chicken parm sandwich from here, it was solid. The staff here is noticably experienced as they kept a lunch crowd moving. Also I saw a food influencer (Jack's dining room) filming outside. These guys are known for the meatball cone, I haven't tried it yet, or anything else. But the chicken parm is fire, sauce is key to me, and it's very flavorful with just the right amount of sweetness. read more

Solid heroes at a good price. 8 inch subs on hood italian bread for $10-12 bucks. They ain't stuffed to the gills but they ain't flimsy either. I got the breaded cutlet w fresh mootz and roasted peppers. It was good. Not great but not bad either. If you want one and you are in the area, go for it. The other sandwich was fresh mootz w prosciutto and fried eggplant. I have never tried a combo like that but it surprisingly delicious. I would def get that again. It's a local neighborhood place you could tell gets packed every day. You can't go wrong coming here and getting a sandwich any day of the week. There's also a rotating assortment of hot foods, which is always an added bonus. G&R In! Take me down to the paradise sandwich! read more

The people who work here are wonderful, welcoming and so quick to try to bring the lines down. Hands down one of the best customer service! As far as the sandwiches, they're also really good and they are huge! The only reason this wasn't 5 stars was because my bread was a little more dry than I like. We tried the American combo and this one was my absolute favorite, the roast beef was super fresh. Then my bf ordered the Italian and this one was also good but something about it wasn't my favorite, maybe it's because I've never been a fan of certain cuts of meat and they are VERY generous with their meats. I mean, it's like an extra packed sandwich that you can barely bite bc it's so big (no complaints there!) all in all, I can't wait to come back and try more stuff! The place is tiny and can get packed but their workers really try their best and I loved that! read more

G & R Deli, you rocked it yesterday! I follow G & R Deli on social media and I see them posting some outrageous looking creations. They recently posted a sandwich on freshly made focaccia bread with fresh mutz. I was driving back from upstate NY back to Long Island, lemme swing by for one of these amazing looking sandwiches. I'm not from the Bronx, I don't know the Bronx and their rules. I know Brooklyn and my go to is Lioni Heroes. They have 125+ sandwich choices. What I hate is when someone is on line and the counter person says, can I help you? And they they take 10 minutes to make a choice. Do your damn homework! I have a mission, come in and order Hot Supp with goat cheese and fig jam on fresh focaccia bread. I walk into a small shop, I place my order and I'm told there's no more focaccia bread. Dang, now "I'm" that guy! The counter person was cool, he made me a chicken cutlet with fresh mutz and broccoli rabe on a roll. The deli is small, there are no seats except a small table outside. I grab my sandwich, a Manhattan Special as well as a box of Homemade Ravs and brought it to my car. I had a car picnic on Williamsbridge Rd! I opened the bag and took my first bite. The chicken cutlet was thick and cooked perfectly. Now add the fresh mutz and broccoli rabe? Oh, its a party up in The Bronx! First time here, I'm not in the area too much so I thank you for the amazing lunch! read more

STAY AWAYYY! Food has been on a steady decline for years. I called to place an order today and the guy who answered the phone was telling me to "stop talking" multiple times. I thought he was talking to someone in the deli with him. He proceeds to tell me "stop talking, I told you we aren't taking orders right now." I explained to him that I didn't hear him say that and he said "maybe if you weren't talking so much, you would've heard it." Very unprofessional customer service at this deli. I should go in there and fire a meatball off his forehead. I refuse to give them my business after today. Clean it the f*** up G&R read more

Service here was 10/10. I found the ordering process well organized, friendly and efficient. I got a toasted G&R chicken cutlet on a gyro. My sandwich looked fantastic because it was fresh and loaded with cutlets. However, I found that the cutlets lacked seasoning. I took it to go and I wish I had a couple of salt and pepper packets to add to it. Will I go back again? Absolutely, I think if I have them add lettuce and tomatoes and off course some condiments. read more

Although there is a lot of social media buzz on Instagram related to their snow cone meatball heros, they have a lot of other food they you can take home for a good dinner. I grabbed on their freshly made mozzarella in salt water and the fried eggplant, which are made in-house. They make fresh food for a decent price. Also, do try their chicken cutlet and roasted peppers on a fresh roll. The sandwich is so packed with chicken and peppers that you essentially have two lunch meals. read more

Food is a 4 - 4 1/2 stars. Service on the other hand...ugh. The worker got pissed when I asked for pesto on my sandwich (it's on the menu). Geez, letting Rogan go to your head much?
