This was the cutest cafe in Washington Heights! Decorated with florals all over, artwork, book shelf, along with a green and pink motif. There was a cozy and welcoming ambiance to the place, with lovely natural lighting. I ordered a Pumpkin Spice Latte and Tres Golpe breakfast. The Latte was served in a clear glass cup with nice design on top. The coffee was smooth and creamy, but the Pumpkin Spice flavor didn't come through strongly enough. For the Tres Golpe, I requested Tostones instead of mashed plantains. The Tres Golpe also came with fried cheese, chorizo, as well as eggs any style, which I got fried over hard. It was a beautiful plate. Tostones were quite bland however and too thick for my liking. I added pieces of chorizo, egg, and cheese on top of them, which helped. The Chorizo was tender, juicy, and well seasoned, while the cheese was perfectly fried, slightly crisp, and full of great flavor. Eggs were also cooked just right. Service was good. I would love to return to try the Pan Seared Salmon, Steak Sandwich, and some other coffee drinks. read more

I visited Cafe Bloom with three friends and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. We waited over an hour for our food, and during that time no one came to our table to provide any updates. I had to get up and ask about our order three separate times. When the food finally arrived, it came out at different times even though we had ordered the same burgers. The food was also cold when it arrived. My burger was incomplete, and I had to get up a fourth time to ask about the missing maduros that were supposed to come with my meal. In addition, our water glasses sat empty for a long time, and I had to get up yet again to ask for refills because no one checked on our table. To make matters worse, the burger came with mayonnaise even though it was not listed on the menu. Poor communication, slow service, cold food, and inaccurate menu descriptions made for a very frustrating dining experience. Unfortunately, I will not be returning. read more

Everytime we have eaten here it has been amazing. Visited today and just got a coffee and was disappointed they were closing for a private event so they didn't have their usual treats on display. This place rocks! They're not a fast food joint, they make everything fresh, so be patient and enjoy the ambiance. The young man taking our orders was super kind to us and made great iced lattes. My partner had the tres golpes and I had the cheese empanadas. Both were cooked perfectly! We saw the couple next to us order tostones that looked so good that it made us jealous, so we'll have to try those next time. Thanks for the great food and neighborly experience! I came here on a date awhile ago. This is a cute cafe with lots of flowers, both real and fake ones. We commented that one side of the cafe has library vibes with people reading and on their laptops while the other half is club vibes with people chatting and the speakers blasting club music. It made the vibe confusing. If I could put my environment on mute this is the place to read or write with piano music in the background but if I was blind, it sounds like I'm at a bbq or one of the first people at the club. We came here to have a quiet lunch and read together but it was too noisy for me. I wasn't able to focus for long periods at a time. Food was okay. I got a nutella latte- pretty good!! As I get older, all I want to do is sit around for hours and catch up with friends and Cafe Bloom was perfect for this. After a walk around the nearby park, my friend and I came and got chai lattes - she got it iced and I got it hot. For the chai connoisseurs - no, this is not the best chai ever, but still good! The place itself is cozy and cute with ample seating. I like that they also gave us flower coasters with our drinks. It's the little things that count! Service was a bit confusing to me because it seemed like they did waiting service except that to check out and pay, we had to go up to the register and do that. This is the cutest coffee shop/restaurant in the area by far! The lady who served us was super nice & friendly and the restaurant itself is super cute for getting a little work done or having coffee with a friend. There is always music playing, so keep that in mind and grab some headphones if you plan to bring a book or laptop. As far as the food... the only thing I would not recommend are the muffin pancakes. They didn't feel cooked all the way through and they were hard to remove from their tins. They however made my eggs the exact way I like them, and the drinks were really good! read more

I feel like a should preface this by saying I very rarely write negative reviews but I just had a frustrating experience here. So starting off with the positives-- the cafe is VERY cute inside, love the art, although I did find the seating a bit cramped. Food was also decent, I'd rate it a 4 (I particularly enjoyed the Bloom breakfast with chorizo). Chai latte was meh. Had it just been ambiance and food, I would've given 4 stars. Why the low rating then? Because it has been a LONG time since I've had to wait this long for food at a restaurant. It wasn't like we ordered anything complex either (or were a huge party, it was just 4 people), it was like...sandwiches. It should not have taken an hour from time of ordering to arrive. It took like 20-25 min just for us to get water. When we asked around the 40 min mark for an update on the food, the waitress said she'd check, then walked away and never came back. Asked another waitress, she said we were going to be next (spoiler alert, we were not next). So in summary: I'd only recommend coming here if you're not remotely in any hurry to get food. read more

Stopped in here for an hour to do some work on my computer before getting my nails done nearby. Wow! I was pleasantly surprised and impressed. I had a chai tea latte. This cafe is so cute. The service of the guy working the counter/tables is what stood out. I go to cafes in the city quite a bit and can't remember the last time I had this good of customer service. Came in not greeted, sat myself down. That's fine I'm patient because I could see that there's clearly people ahead of me. However after waiting 15 minutes & still not being greeted, a menu being left, at least a glass of water on this 80+ day I had to leave. It was clear that they were understaffed which has been a problem when this place used to be Halo. Management do right by the employee who is always there she's trying to do her best. Second time visiting this place, the inside is very nice, I like the vibe. Unfortunately so many things went wrong in this visit. I ordered a cappuccino, after a couple of sip on it I noticed that the milk was getting weird, that's when I realized that the milk was bad. I sent it back and they returned my cappuccino starting that it was fine. It was getting thicker and thicker so I explained that I didn't feel safe drinking that coffee but they insisted that it was fine. I just couldn't drink any more. I tried to enjoy the environment and let it pass on that. But it really bothered me that they didn't see any issues with a spoiled milk. Food came and my toast was hard as a rock and cold, pouched eggs too. I didn't want to look like a "Karen" so I just ate it like that. The cherry on top was when we got the appetizer right in the middle of us eating our food. I forgot about it completely and was so surprised they brought it to us, it's supposed to be an appetizer. Guess what? It was cold too and the chicken was so hard and dry. I couldn't anymore I just sent it back and told her the chicken was dry and cold. I'm not sure what was in their mind!!!
