I ate here twice for breakfast while in NYC. The first morning I got a bacon egg and cheese bagel and it was delicious. I'm not a huge bagel fan but it was so soft and fresh. I also had an iced coffee that was great. The next day I tried the veggie burrito and omg it was one of the best I've ever had. The beans were seasoned really well and the avocado was very fresh too. I got a macchiato and it was weird bc they gave me oat milk and then she shot of espresso in a seperate cup. It was not great but the burrito made up for it. read more

I will be honest, I haven't tried anything in this coffee shop, and I'm debating if I ever will. I'm HUGE on customer service. Even if the food isn't great, I'll still give a place a second chance because I value good customer service. When I walked in, the barista was talking to someone about her dog and how she moved into a certain area. She was worried about how it might affect her dog. She was really engrossed in the conversation. I patiently waited for a minute, and when I approached to ask a question (since it was my first time there), she said, "Just look at the menu," and went right back to her conversation. I felt that was pretty dismissive, it wasn't crowded. Her friend could've just sat down and waited. I kept trying to ask questions, but she stayed focused on her conversation. The prices in this place are steep! I just felt dismissed walking in. I could still hear her talking about her dog, and even her friend was saying, "Yeah, I feel so bad..." I don't know, it just left a bad impression. I might try it on Too Good To Go first, because the portions aren't necessarily big. She spelled my name wrong when I spelled it out for her, and when I asked for an iced latte she asked me if I wanted it hot. And then after paying, I was waiting for my receipt and she was on her phone. So it didn't set the right tone for me. Regardless, my food came out quickly. But next time I'd order ahead of time. Ambiance is chill. There were some people working on their laptops and reading. But it's also a tight space. Location: This sliver of cafe/restaurant is along a busy stretch of on 181st and at the beginning of Bennett Ave near Broadway. When you walk in, there is a long wooden table with two signs that read about no laptops enjoy your coffee and food. I like the vibe in this place. You can grab and go but there is a welcoming atmosphere to stay and hang out. The ordering area is quite narrow so I would recommend holding back if someone is ordering because space is a premium. Food and drink: They get their pastries and bagels fresh and have excellent products. I have not had their breakfast or lunch items but they are tempting to order. I like that they have different seasonal drink specials with Matcha, pumpkin spice, and the latest and greatest varieties. Their best quality is that they fill your cup to the rim with a latte now we have all had a foam heavy latte and feel less than satisfied but they are so diligent in their execution on their drinks. Service: I always feel welcome and enjoy the low key vibe of this place. They know how treat people. The sweetest little coffee shop I found on one my walks through the city. The crowd seemed to ebb and flow so don't be discouraged if it looks busy. It will shift fast. Got a latte with almond milk and it was delicious and well made. Perfect size and flavor. I first visited Forever Coffee back on my occasional work days at the 168th Campus of NYP in 2019 & (early!) 2020; yes, it was a wee bit out of the way, but I dug the vibe. Now that I have moved back up to this neighborhood again, I have been a regular visitor. I am not a coffee drinker, but am thankful for their good chai and matcha lattes, including their seasonal spins on them; they make an iced strawberry matcha well! Their in-house food items are fantastic, from crispy falafels stuffed in pita to their decadent BEC on thick brioche bread. The staff has always been welcoming and take the time to get to know the customers, regulars and one-timers alike. (Shout out to Sequoia and Jacob!) I always feel welcomed, and there is a nice sense of community in there; I've become friendly with some of the other regular customers; it's nice to talk to folks for a few minutes, even when I'm grabbing and going with my drink. Sometimes, it's the only human interaction I'll have on any given day! My mere complaint would be their matcha lattes occasionally have clumps at the bottom, depending on the barista working the coffee bar. It's not enough of a reason for me to ever say "no" to this place, ha! I'm seeing a few reviews noting Forever Coffee's "no laptop" policy, something I am ambivalent about, but I am happy that this helps foster a sense of a coffee shop...you know, a place to drink coffee or tea and have conversations with folks. Coffeeshops aren't supposed to be synonymous with doing work, necessarily. (Trust me when I say there are ample signs throughout the cafe noting this, I've been coming here for five years.) Forever Coffee Bar is a tiny coffee shop/cafe tucked in between the abundance of delis and cell phone stores off of 181st and Broadway. I was craving something different than my usual Starbucks order and stumbled upon Forever as a solid choice for coffee and breakfast. It doesn't look like they do delivery so I ordered for pickup and took a nice walk over. We ordered the Honey Vanilla Cinnamon latte, a veggie burrito, and a custom-built sandwich. The HVC latte was delicious, but definitely needs an extra shot as it can be a bit too light for us coffee veterans. The veggie burrito was filling and flavorful! The custom-built sandwich on sourdough with hash browns on the inside was the bomb.com. Highly recommend. The service was sweet and my order was ready exactly when promised. I do wish they offered delivery but I'll continue to do pickup as their food and coffee will keep me coming back. read more

Not sure what is going on because I normally love this place. Service was always good and food is delicious. For the past two times I dealt with a server charge me for 16oz and give me a 12oz and didn't even apologize for it and now I come in and the cashier just says "what are you getting?" with an attitude , doesn't ask me what size or kind of bread... so when I tell her she says "we only have one size anyways" with an attitude again... because I was interrupting her meal I guess. Clearly seeing that there are two sizes and options to choose from. Date of service : 3/24/2023. Not sure if your changing your staff around but it's not a good look. read more

Saw this place on Yelp, said it was a good place to go and get work done. Great. Head here, spend $7 on a mediocre coffee, overpriced but whatever. Sit down to get my work done and am told I'm not allowed to work on my laptop, even though the place wasn't that busy and there was another guy on his laptop too. I love coming here on weekends to get some studying done. There's not much in the area as far as work-friendly coffee shops, but this one definitely hits the mark. Coffee is good, matcha is also good, wifi is good, service is friendly, bathroom is existent, atmosphere is nice for working. There will usually be a nice mix of people talking and working on laptops, which works super well for me. Came here to work two days in a row before writing this review. & I can confidently say I'll be a regular here. I'm not a coffee drinker, so I can't say whether or not they have good coffee; being I do not know the difference. Although they market themselves as having pastries, I have not seen anything besides packaged cookies on display. The 4-star is due to the fact I've noticed ants near the condiments table (besides that, it's a relatively clean place). I appreciate the artistic/quaint space they've created in Washington Heights. I took a chance on this spot. I was in a hurray to make the next A train - nowadays on the weekends they run anywhere from 10-15mins apart. So my window to get coffee before getting on the train was tight. I normally hit the DD before the train but the staff is slow even when no one is in there and on a Saturday afternoon, it was going to be busy. So as I walked past Forever it was empty inside. So I took a chance.... ...Forever Coffee's interior was being renovated and yet it was spotless. So I ordered an iced coffee and grabbed a slice of the pumpkin bread. It was a good decision overall. Friendly, courteous service. Great tasting coffee and pumpkin bread. Cashless transaction. So I was in & out to make my A train in no time. Success! They've made a new steady customer out of me. The first time I went I didn't really enjoy the bacon egg and cheese I ordered because I felt like it was wayyyy to greasy but then today it was perfect. Very pleased to say their coffee is also bomb which is what we desperately needed. Hope to always come here and keep supporting! My friend and I were on our way to Starbucks when we noticed this coffee shop and decided to step in instead. I got a macchiato and she got a chai latte. I'm very used to Starbucks so I did expect a larger and flavored macchiato, however that wasn't what happened. Forever coffee bar serves a smaller portion which is okay to me, for its more traditional! We had blueberry muffin and the most delicious buttery croissant.
