Great little spot, and I do mean little, there's a couple tables inside and a bench outside but that's it. It's good to get it to go. Good pastries, I recommend the Apple turnover. Coffee is good too! Whole milk or milk alternatives, including coconut milk. Service is warm and friendly. Every drink made to order so be patient. If it's busy you might be waiting for a hot minute. Great coffee shop in the heights! They have really solid coffee beans and the matcha is amazing! I enjoy the ambiance there and its focus is more on the drinks and pastries they serve. The barista working there is very sweet and she even gives samples or experiments in my drinks, which I love! I love coming here to get my iced matcha order or latte. Space is small but it makes up with quality of drinks. read more

This is such a cute little gem near the Columbia hospitals. I came here with a couple of friends to get some coffee, and we loved it! The server was so fun and kind, we had a great time chatting with him. The decor is really funky and cute as well. They also have little earrings and other items for sale. We got london fogs and a lavender latte. I was so happy that the london fog was made perfectly! It had been a while since I had one that was made right. I'm a sucker for hot new businesses, and the Plug definitely qualifies as one of them. A coffee shop with a daily rotation of pastries and smoking supplies - definitely not something you hear of often. I haven't had the honor to check out this establishment in person yet as my love for this place started through Seamless. The coffee is strong, consistent, and flavorful. Their drip coffee is as delicious as their lattes. I've tried their almond croissant and apple turnover so far and they are both amazing! I believe they get their pastries delivered from another bakery but the freshness is real! I don't smoke so I can't comment on their "tobacco" supplies, but they market them as environmentally-friendly and organically made. TLDR: I'm a fan. Check this place out. read more

I already know I'm gonna be a regular here. For starters, their coffee is a solid 5 out of 5. So far, we've had a macchiatto, a latte, an espresso, and a café con leche and each one was perfect. But in the meantime, for those looking for excellent coffee on the go, look no further than The Plug. They also have a small selection of pastries including doughnuts and croissants and a cookie shaped like a bear which they've cleverly named "Ted". I've yet to try Ted but their vanilla doughnut (vanilla creme filling) was delicious. If you are from the area, you should pick up a loyalty card because after 10 drinks, the next one is free! Easily my favorite coffee in the entire city! I have yet to try something that is subpar, everything they offer is so good! It's a one stop shop for all your needs with an assortment of trinkets, jewelry, and even clothes, and the pastries are amazing as well. Literally the cutest coffee shop ever with the sweetest staff. Great vibe and the type of place where you just want to hang out and talk to your barista. I had an oat latte, which was phenomenal, and one of their gluten free muffins, which was also very tasty. But it's not only about the coffee - this is the type of place where you can actually sit down and enjoy being around the people that run the place. The cafe itself is not huge, but there's two small tables inside and a bench outside. There's also a small shelf with some fun stuff for sale. The coffee menu is varied and there's dairy free options instead of milk. Loved it here and will definitely be back! read more

We stopped here to warm up on a cold morning. We were pleasantly surprised. The coffee is great, they use Gotham Roasters for their beans. My wife really enjoyed the Chai Latte which they brew in house and is not out of a carton. The ben and Justin are really friendly. It's a small place but they do have a few spots to seat and relax. read more

Been going there 3 weeks and I'm already like family. Fantastic, friendly vibe, this is easily my second home. I'm off coffee, but their fierce (mostly) loose-leaf tea game keeps me coming back. Recommend the London Fog, Chai, Cinnamon Tea, hot or iced Matcha, and iced green tea. read more

Got the peppermint mocha the first time around and it was pretty well balanced. Came back for a regular mocha and it was also pretty good. Not too sweet and just strong enough. Baristas were friendly enough, but the shop was really small. I wouldn't come here to sit and drink, just get it to-go. read more

Poor quality coffee. I had a latte and could barely taste any caffeine. Not to mention the sticker on their outside bench mocking the NYPD. I didn't see it until I was on my way out, but I never would have spent my hard earned money there if I saw it before. I love supporting small businesses and I love coffee, but it makes me sick that a business IN New York City would post that outside of their business. Extremely disappointing and I regret spending my money there. I am going to your business to enjoy coffee and relax, not to watch you ridicule and demean others. I don't know how they could be all smiley and happy yet have something like that posted outside. Extremely uninviting. read more

Perfect little coffee shop on nice shady street in Washington Heights and an oasis for those wanting to step away from the nearby hospital. Excellent cappuccino and pastries. Given the small size of the shop, I'd absolutely return--but only during off-peak hours, when it's less crowded and easier to fully enjoy what they do best. If you're craving a genuinely great cup of coffee and have the patience (or good timing), Buunni is worth checking out. 3 stars because of price to coffee ratio, wait time, and overall experience.
