The Chipped Cup has that secret speakeasy vibe, which I love. The inside is much bigger than expected. It had that old, antique look with warm lights and exposed brick walls. They had some baked goods in the showcase, and they offer other dishes such as sandwiches, burrito, toasts, etc. What makes The Chipped Cup extra special is their back patio. It is so peaceful and beautiful! For extra peaceful vibe, go there early before everyone else arrives. We have been to The Chipped Cup a few times, and we had tried a few different drinks and food. I love Liège Waffle, and they make a great one here. It was soft and doughy, rich and had the perfect chewy texture. Lemon Loaf here is gluten free. It was moist and delightful! The Coconut Latte was delicious. Sweet but not overly sweet, with the subtle aroma and flavor coconut. Bagel & Lox came with ample amount of lox, super fresh and delicious. Bagels was not the easiest to cut and eat (in my opinion) even with the knife and fork, but it was very tasty. Loved the addition of the tomatoes in here. They also offer gluten free bread available, and vegan cream cheese options too. The staffs here were friendly and polite. The back patio space was so peaceful and relaxing. About the time we were done, more people arrived at the patio, and even more people in the inside space. We were happy to have our quiet, tranquil time before the morning rush. read more

Cute spot in the area with great coffee and food. Came here with a friend during the week to work from home together and it was great! This place does get very packed so getting there early is your best bet, especially if its raining because of the outside seating. I ordered a small iced coffee with milk and paid $4.20. It was given to me in a small-sized paper cup (normally for hot coffee) packed full of ice. Kudos to them for trying to use less plastic (or being out of supplies, unsure which is accurate) but even in a time of rising prices this is outrageous. Had I known their iced coffee was served this way, I would have ordered something different. When I commented it was a lot to pay for a paper cup full of ice with a splash of coffee, I was asked "what is the problem" and then aggressively asked if I had asked for "light ice." I did not, and won't in the future because I won't be going back! Dank little place, avoid! read more

Really disappointed to write this. It's a nice shop with good ambiance and I've visited a few times. Biggest challenge here is food. I usually get a breakfast burrito and it usually takes a while (which is fine - it's worth the 10-15 min wait). Today, after ordering, I came in to lightly check on my burrito after 30 minutes. While the staff was nice, the manager proceeded to scold me and say "we have like 50 sandwiches." I understand being overwhelmed (though I've definitely seen it busier in there) - but courtesy counts especially for repeat customers. Hoping this was a bad day - and not representative of the whole staff - but the manager who is often there can be flippant with customers. Next visit will be last if so. read more

The outdoor space is not a secret but I actually visited years ago and it was a secret to me at least. Food/drink: Ask about their seasonal latte or drink specials. We got the coconut latte which was served in a nice blue mug. The toaster was broken so we went with the bagel and lox ($15) which was super tasty. Then we had the Lemon loaf and liege waffle as sweet options to balance the savory lox bagel. Overall: Great spot especially outside on a nice day. Went today 2/9/26 and the shop was fairly full with about 10-15 people When trying to place my order the cashier at the front said they're weren't taking customers because of a RAT situation Excuse me!?! And there were still like 15 people in the store sitting enjoying their coffee!? I LOVE this coffee shop - perhaps one of my favorites in the whole city. This coffee shop is so unique in that they are genuinely so sweet and kind to the community they serve. It's evident by how many repeat customers they have and that they are so pride friendly. When you walk in, you are instantly transformed into their cozy space and it so relaxing and inviting. I ordered a matcha latte, a grilled cheese and tomato soup (which was a new menu item for them), and an iced oat latte to go. Everything was fantastic!! The grilled cheese went perfectly with the tomato soup, which was honestly (surprisingly at a coffee shop) the best tomato soup I've had in the city so far! The girls who took my order engaged in conversation every time I ordered and were so sweet/complimentary. The place was buzzing with people when I went, but they are coming and going so I'd say it's fairly easy to grab a table and work (which I did - a great place to do that or do some reading/writing). I've been coming here every single day since I moved to the neighborhood two weeks ago. I genuinely loved this place the coffee, the vibe, everything. I never minded spending around $9 per visit, because it felt worth it. Every time, the baristas made my drink just how I liked it: a flat white in a large cup with an extra shot. No questions, no issues just good coffee and good service. But today really let me down. I was told I had to pay extra for milk, something I've never been charged for before. Then, after I paid, the barista walked over to check the register to see if I had actually paid. It made me feel small, like I was trying to scam a coffee shop I've been loyal to every day. Advertised breakfast burrito at $11 rang it up at $14.50. Blamed the increase on egg prices when I called them out on it they wouldn't charge me the advertised price. No warning on menu or counter prices aren't as advertised. Manage wouldn't offer it at the advertised price. Super deceptive should be illegal even. Egg prices have been down for a few weeks now stop making excuses to cheat your customers or at the bare minimum put stickers with updated prices on your menus take a few minutes! read more

The Chipped Cup is really hidden. It's down a flight of stairs tucked between two buildings. It's the traffic going inside and the cute sign outside that brought it to my attention. It was right on time for my bout of low blood sugar after walking over three miles. The space is so relaxing and inviting. It's really like being in someone's home. I love this decor with all the trinkets and photos on the walls. People were definitely enjoying the inside and the garden outside. The line to order was confusing me. Finally a couple of customers told me which was the line to order. They were preparing a lot of food so people were waiting for their orders. The way they put the completed order on the counter concerned me. You can easily pick up the wrong order. You pay first then wait for the name of your food to be called. They don't take cash but do email a receipt and since I requested a paper receipt I was surprised when I was handed one. The employees are not overly friendly just keeping on task. They appear to be very experienced and comfortable in their jobs. I wanted an Everything Bagel and cream cheese because I was looking for grab and go brunch. They only had one Everything left and it was sold before I ordered. I decided to try the Onion Bagel with Cream Cheese. Oh boy! I was NOT disappointed. That bagel was so so good. I Didn't Even have heartburn or any aftertaste the rest of the day. The cream cheese was plentiful and delicious. I sat at a table in the Broadway Mall across the street. I really should have gone to their garden because the wind was fierce yesterday. I would advise you to sit in their garden. I'm giving them Four Stars because of my ordering confusion and my food pick up concerns. If those areas were tightened up this would be a Five Star review. I checked to be sure I had the correct order before I left. I'd advise you to do the same if you are buying to take out. This place RADIATES coziness and joy! My partner and I decided to try it out today after walking by several times and never going in. Coffee was great, food was delicious, and the staff was so kind! The staff have a nice rapport with one another which makes ordering kinda nice and definitely easy. They always get it right. I was warned about the prices, but nothing prepares you for your first iced mocha that is $6.75. I also indulged in the jelly donut they had for sale given I had run that morning and was ravenous! Overall, their food selection is very basic: they have a small baked goods case, and offer avocado toast, peanut butter toast, chicken salad/tuna salad toast, a granola bowl and I think a chia pudding. Pretty basic food that I could easily make at home, so I chose to get a donut instead. While my iced mocha was a little overpriced, it was really, really good and the large size is pretty generous. My jelly donut left me wanting more, oh well! I think the best part about the Chipped Cup is the ambiance.
