One of my favorite parts was that when you're almost done, you can ask them to pour soup into your bowl, which basically turns it into a whole second dish! Such a fun way to finish the meal. We also tried the wagyu, which was really good, but honestly, the wagyu rice stole the show for me! Overall, great food, service, and ambiance. The restaurant was packed when we went, so I'd definitely recommend making a reservation ahead of time!

After finally trying it, I can confidently say this place lives up to the hype! If you love Japanese rice bowls featuring high-quality ingredients and an interactive dining experience, this spot deserves a visit. We ordered the Wagyu Hitsumabushi set, featuring A5 wagyu served over rice with egg yolk, wasabi, scallions, rice crackers, and bonito broth. The wagyu was incredibly tender and practically melted in your mouth. The rich, buttery beef paired beautifully with the creamy egg yolk, while the wasabi and scallions added a fresh, sharp kick to cut through the richness. The rice crackers were a great touch, bringing some much-needed crunch and texture to every bite. And of course, finishing the bowl with the bonito broth gives you a completely different experience, transforming the dish into a comforting, savory bowl of goodness. I loved that you could enjoy the rice bowl in different ways rather than having every bite taste the same. We also ordered the Kaishin Don, topped with Hokkaido uni, minced tuna, ikura, and chives over rice. This was another winner! The combination of creamy uni, savory minced tuna, and those little bursts of briny ikura made every bite incredibly satisfying. It almost felt like making your own hand rolls, except everything was conveniently served over a bowl of rice. The different textures and flavors complemented one another so well, and I could happily eat this again. What I particularly appreciate about Ozakaya is that these aren't just pretty bowls made for Instagram. The ingredients, thoughtful combinations, and different ways to enjoy each set make the experience genuinely worthwhile. If you've been eyeing Ozakaya on social media, consider this your sign to go! Both the Wagyu Hitsumabushi and Kaishin Don are worth trying, especially if you're a fan of Japanese rice bowls and premium seafood. Ozakaya definitely delivered on the hype for me!

We came for brunch on Saturday when they opened and had no issues being seated. Ambience was cozy and simple. We ordered: Katsu Sando ($19) - includes 4 mini sandos with a thick crispy fried pork loin, caramelized onion jam, tonkatsu sauce, and a side of egg salad. The pork was perfectly fried and so tender. It was interesting to pair with the jam as I am more used to just tonkatsu sauce and shredded cabbage. I also topped it with the umami egg salad and it was great! Very flavorful. Pork tenderloin ($18) - includes tender crispy fried pork tenderloin, tonkatsu sauce, wasabi, truffle salt. I like how you can change up the flavor with the toppings. The crispy batter is so light and the pork is so thick and tender. I think I would prefer the Pork loin katsu if I were to order again, just based on my katsu sando. Corn rib ($15) - includes grilled corn slices. Topped with cheese powder, lemon, Shio kombu. This was good, and portion size is generous, but I think I preferred it at Koban. Galbi mandu ($17) - includes 4 sweet soy marinated beef dumplings in a sweet and sour soy sauce. This was great and very flavorful! Spicy tuna sandwich ($19) - similar concept as when you get a spicy tuna roll, but it's in sandwich form. Decent amount of filling to rice ratio. Includes panko, spicy mayo, scallion. I really liked this. Overall, I was very happy with the food and I would come again. There are 2 unisex bathrooms in the back.

The space was…read moreminimalistically beautiful and my party of 5 were seated in their semi outdoor but covered patio area. Started off with their apps: the kampachi crudo featured fresh fish with a generous amounts of sweet peppers. The assorted sushi were fresh with just the right tad of wasabi. Yes their katsus were delicious but the butter scallop was the *highlight* of the night!!! It's the same as the scallop at Konban but everytime I get it I have to finish the addicting brown buttery but very umami sauce! The scallops are BIG and fresh. The veggies help soak up all the goodness and by the end we were also soaking the corn in this sauce. The pork loin and pork ternderloin were obviously also very tasty. Crispy outside, tender meat that paired nicely with their simple truffle salt or with the katsu sauce. My first time trying their ebi shrimp katsu which was also very fresh and crispy! The maitake risotto was a close second for me because the mushrooms were cooked perfectly with just a touch of char on the outside. Portion size was smaller than expected BUT the mushroom to rice ratio was superb. Gomtang ramyun featured a flavorful, hearty booth with al dente noodles. The chili oil packed in a lot od spice and savoriness. For desserts the ube tiramisu radiated strong ube flavors with lots of cream and fluffy lady fingers. Just wish the the honey bread was warm but the black sesame ice cream was solid with its nutty profile. Staff were very nice and attentive. Food came quickly for a weekend dinner. Excited to come back to Konban/Konya in the future!

The tataki was nice, but not the dish of the night. The eggplant was the surprise standout. Absolutely delicious, and at $12, awesome value. We got another plate. Service was attentive and eager to please. The interiors are funky, low lit. Cool music. Perfect for a date. Overall, not the cheapest night out ($180 for 4 small dishes, 2 cocktails, 1 beer, tip), but good value and great quality. I think this might become a regular.

The concept is deconstructed omakase that gives you the flexibility to season as aggressively or conservatively as you wish, and pair it with seaweed, rice, or just as sashimi. The food is inviting, creative, and has several flavors that range the spectrum from smoky to fruity to spicy to acidic. My favorite bite was the uni crab mixture that was boosted by the mild notes of the floral component, which pairs perfectly with the truffle salt for an additional subtle umami saline boost. While the restaurant is beautifully peaceful, I found the tatami seating to be completely unnecessary that detracts from the experience; in those settings, it is preferable when the height of the table from where the legs are situated to be of greater distance to create more comfort. The location is lovely: right by the park and waterfront, with a view that makes it feel like a perfect spot for date night or dinner with friends and family. You could easily take a stroll by the water before or after your meal. We chose the all-you-can-eat omakase tasting with sake, and it was a 10/10. They asked about allergies and dietary restrictions before we started, which I really appreciated. We sat at the counter and got to watch the chefs prepare each piece, including torching some of the fish for that smoky, rich flavor. The sushi had such a range of delicious flavors, from bright citrus to deep, smoky and buttery. Some of my favorites were the mackerel, toro and wagyu, along with one of the pieces finished with lime zest. The crudo was delicious, too. The all-you-can-eat part made the experience even better. There were so many great options, and we could keep ordering until we were happily full. Dessert was a lovely finish: I had the pudding, and my friend had the Oreo cheesecake, which she absolutely devoured. The sake kept coming, it was delicious, and the presentation was such a cute touch. The service was also warm and attentive throughout. I never felt like I was waiting or wanting for anything. I'd absolutely recommend Kiwami. It's a beautiful setting, the food was excellent, and the whole experience felt special without being stuffy. I'd happily come back again.
