Yuck. This place has gone down hill. They were out of a lot of items, and the ones they did have looked like they had been sitting around awhile. But the worst was how dirty the restaurant was. Prices are pretty reasonable for what you get. It is cafeteria food so keep that in mind. If you are hungry & can't interrupt your shopping to get something to eat, this place will do in a pinch. I love how they have kids eat free on tuesday, their meatballs with mash potato and gravy and lignon berry sauce is soooo good!!! I always get that when I'm here. It's a restaurant. In IKEA. It's pretty much what you would expect, but if you have a meatball craving while shopping, no reason not to hit it up. I did really enjoy the chocolate/butterscotch/toffee cake, and I love me some lingonberry, but their meatballs and mashed potatoes are just okay. They do give you a fairly large portion though, and I would ask for extra gravy. Prices are okay and there are some good options for kids, but nothing to write home about. read more

Seeing that I've been to IKEA about 6 times in the past two months and that I've (funny enough) recently returned from a visit to Sweden, I think I can speak on the food served here. Swedish Meatballs - My friends have raved about these Swedish Meatballs and considering that they were pre-frozen and served cafeteria style, I would rate them maybe a 3.5/5 for what it is. Sometimes it's a hit or miss, which is to be expected from cafeteria food. While in Sweden a few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to try the local meatballs, and those were juicy and delicious. Going back to Ikea to eat meatballs is downright depressing. No Swedish person would ever rave about the meatballs at Ikea, just like how I would never rave about the Eggrolls at Panda Express. The meatballs are worth a try (especially since you're probably stuck at IKEA for another few hours if you're shopping for your home). Vegetarian Crepes filled with cheese and spinach? Sounds good right? They're comparable to vegetarian Hot Pockets. I mean do you really expect them to make them fresh everyday? Buffalo Chicken Wrap Combo is edible (2/5). Save yourself $6 and don't order the Salmon here, but since this stuff is served cafeteria style, you will know not to get it when you look at it. It's seriously weird for me to get excited to go eat at a home furnishing store, but yeah, I really like this place. Every time I go to IKEA, I eat here. The prices are GOOD, they have a decent selection of food, including kid-friendly and healthy (I wish they had more, though). The cafe opens about an hour before the actual store, so you can get your energy before you shop away. Free refills in drinks and coffee, and they ask that you bus your own table, which really shouldn't be a big deal for anyone. Seriously, grown-ups can clean up after their own messes, yes? No matter how full the place looks, too, I've always found a good table. If you come to the store, eat here, especially if you're watching your money. read more

I usually go here all the time with my friend, but the last two times the food has really gone downhill. For example, when I go there, I usually get the corn bread and it's usually super good, but this time it was the worst thing I have ever put in my mouth. This is the absolute WORST IKEA restaurant I've ever been to!! The Swedish meatballs were dry and old looking, I always get the buffalo chicken wrap. They had no sandwiches, and the items in the case looked old. I settled for chicken tortilla soup which was sub par, sitting in an almost empty container on the salad bar next to a bin of rolls covered in bugs. When I say gross, this doesn't even begin to describe it! They were also out of two kinds of soda and the ice maker was empty. When I tried to hold the button down to get ice out of the maker, an employee yelled at me that it was empty. Seriously the worst. I haven't walked around the rest of the store yet, but based on this experience, I would think twice about coming to this IKEA. I've eaten at Ikea a few times and their food has been fairly consistent. I like their chicken tenders and their baked fish. For their baked fish, it's seasoned with a lot of dill, which I find to be a tasty addition- but it's also a bit on the salty side, so I like to get mashed potatoes with it instead of their fries. The fish itself was fairly moist and tasted good. I've also tried their swedish crawfish ( I know! Crawfish? At Ikea??? ) But yeah, they do offer it from time to time. Maybe only during the months of Aug-Sept? You can also buy it frozen from their market if you'd like to try it out. Anyway, it's not the crawfish that we're used to eating here in the States with cajun seasonings. Rather, it's quite interesting. I mean interesting in a way that you could possibly grow accustomed to the taste if you drowned it in a lot of lemon and some type of dipping sauce. The only thing I had was ketchup, but it served it's purpose. The crawfish is served cold, and while the crawfish itself has a great size to it, it's heavily seasoned with salt and dill. I recommend that you get yourself a glass of water or fountain drink if you're going to give it a try. Overall, the texture of the crawfish meat was acceptable for something that was frozen at some point, but I wouldn't get it again. What I didn't like so much was their service. While the staff is nice and friendly, sometimes the cashier disappears and doesn't come back for some time. I've seen a few customers wait in line for 5 to 10 minutes before getting checked out to eat their food. Not so great. read more

Maybe a bit too minimal. If you don't come during peak hours the food sits out for who knows how long. The tables are dirty and the employees couldn't care less. First, I like IKEA. I have been around it all my life starting in Europe. I don't think this is American Food style. Many of the items you can buy are European that is for sure. I've heard a lot about IKEA's amazing restaurant but the restaurant at 7810 Katy Freeway was kind of a disappointment. The service was quite slow which caused a long line and most of the tables were not clean. The fountain drink machine was not dispensing majority of the good drinks and I just hope that they improve on all of those factors. read more

I love coming here to browse and I absolutely love their coffee and smoked salmon salad at the restaurant. I wish I could eat it everyday if I could! Too bad I live five hours away! It's very rare to find good food at such cheap prices. read more
