I don't go to Lubys but my family wanted to go. I was very pleasantly surprised. The food and service were good. My wife told me about the luan platter, less food for less money. Found out they even have a senior discount for the luan platter so I got and enjoyed that. I enjoyed a smaller portion chicken fried steak with a choice of brown or white gravy....I tried brown and it was great, it came with 2 sides, I loved the green beans and spinach.

Totally disappointed that EVERYTHING on this pic was cold

Went earlier this month to the OST location, and there were quite a few strands on hair fried within the batter of my fish. Went to the S Post Oak location today, and EVERYTHING on my plate was cold. The waiter said it's been happening for a month so far, and management is aware, but nothing's been done. He mentioned he's had 40-50 plates sent back for the same thing. Since it's been issues at 2 locations, and nothing's being done, I conclude that Luby's doesn't care about their customers nor their quality. Kind of makes me think they're self-sabotaging, especially since so many locations are closing.

I received the best service from a waiter named Avery. We were greeted with a smile, he assisted us with our tray's and was very attentive. Not to mention great food

This is definitely not the Luby's I remember as a kid. This "fancy" Luby's, features outdoor seating, spacious inside, flat screens, colorful balloons, a multitude of windows, and a bar. Not sure if they serve alcohol, but there was a seperate "bar area" with a server and all. But everyone is right. We want out condiment table! We want our condiment tay-bal!!! Seriously. I come to Luby's for two things: mac 'n' cheese and hot rolls with honey butter. And here are two things that went wrong: sloooow check out service so that by the time we sat down, the grub was less than warm, and we had to wait even longer for that sweet butter. Oh wait, they don't have butter. They only carry margarine now! So it sucks that you now have to ask your hard-to-be-found server for things like butter, ketchup, hot sauce and straws. But I'll still go back. They've got this buy-one-get-one-half off deal every night after 4:30pm Mon-Fri, which is not bad for a simple dinner in Uptown.

This place I think place has the best cheese steak. Lately they have not had that available since the COVID. Such a shame. Lots of open space and good for large groups.

This is what they said the salad looked like

They offer affordably priced…read morefood (#1), simple and tasty casual fare, and keep it relatively flexible for all folks (dates, families, group dining, etc.) by providing excellent service, and a consistent experience every time. Similarly to their more popular location in Memorial (#2), this outside of this Bellaire spot doesn't immediately tell the full story. The interior has an industrial vibe, with the high ceilings and overhead fixtures, but as converted into a solid dining space. The large tilted mirrors in the main area are reminiscent of the now defunct Helen's (#3) and makes for a fun (or perhaps distracting) visual. The spacious layout allows breathing room for all kinds of groups. Service has been good overall, and prompt throughout every visit. The American bistro inspired menu has a decent amount of variety that spans from brunch to a tasty weeknight dinner and a drink. Their starters have a variety of tasty bites that include the white truffle eggs, wicked wings, prosciutto-melon burrata, Mama Pauley's meatballs, and a very addicting chipotle pimento cheese dip. While I appreciate the vegan-friendly hippie chickpea croquettes, it needed just a bit more seasoning. Their bacon double cheeseburger has been deemed "insta-famous" and it certainly didn't disappoint. It's juicy, a little messy, but a lot delicious. It paired well with their large cut fries (consider upgrading to the truffle fries), but the house made chips are also a good light bite. Their salads are equally fabulous from their classic caesar to a hearty cobb salad. I wasn't as impressed with the crunchy Asian salad, but thought their faro salad was a thumbs up. Understandably, the priciest meals are some of their grilled and house specialty meals, such as a prime tenderloin filet ($42), Mediterranean roasted redfish ($36), twelve hour ribs ($29), and rosemary-lemon chicken ($29), all of which are solid. I feel the buttermilk chicken tender platter ($19) is really meant for children, but is great for any tender lover in the bunch. Their weekly "features" are a series of daily specials that range from prime rib nights on Wednesdays and ribeyes on Thursdays, and "kids eat free" specials + their happy hour give folks plenty of reason to check it out. ___________ ( #1) Especially during their seasonal deals which can sometimes include steep discounts. We got chicken and waffle & chicken and pancake, French toast with side of scrambled eggs, and an iced lavender latte and English breakfast hot tea. The food & drinks quickly came out, which is always greatly appreciated when dining with kids. The chicken was a generous portion and juicy. The butter had a unique flavor and paired well with the chicken. The pancake and waffle were also big portions. The latte was sweet and well balanced. The manager came around checking on us and was very attentive when I needed to request an extra cup of hot water for our tea. The floral wall decor and light fixture gives such a cozy vibe. Portions are large/filling and we felt the food was delicious and a good value for money. When we arrived the line was long and menus were not available so we had to search for the menu on the website to avoid deciding at the counter and holding up the people behind us. After ordering, tables were cleaned consistently and service was friendly. Only feedback about seating was outside parties would take chairs from other tables and leave them with no seating and not all tables we're shaded. The drinks being available at the bar when it is busy and then food being delivered to the table was a bit clunky. I picked up water and utensils for our party before sitting and would have preferred to have to pick everything up at the counter or have everything brought to the table to avoid multiple trips around when the restaurant is busy.

Recently she had an afternoon appointment and I was able to swing by and join her. When her appointments were completed, it was in the beginning of peak traffic time, so we decided to walk over to DS and have a bite to eat and catch up This space is so open as well as cozy. Soon as you enter, you head straight to the counter to order. From there, you're given a number and choose your seat. Booth and table options are available. On a Thursday afternoon, the place wasn't busy but not empty, which gave my Mom and I the opportunity to catch up without a noisy dining room. The food came out fresh and hot and for the price, we were surprised by the portion since its was the $10 HH burger and fries. The fountain drinks were interesring as well. DS does not have Coke or Pepsi products. They have similiar flavors you would find with those brands. I enjoyed the Mexican Coke. It seemed to not be as fizzy aa your own well know caffenated Compadres but still carried a great flavor. Let me not skip over the dessert! Mom LOVED the pecan pie which she states had whole pecans instead of pieces. I did not wven notice that she had been getting pieces of the pie as we talked. Half of it was gone when we left. That means is pretty scrumptous! I had enough willpower to eat my chocolate chip cookie when I got home and it was worth the wait! Not only is the cookie huge, but the semi sweet chocolate and sea salt is chef's kiss. Grat combo of both worlds. Combine that with the crunchy outisude and chewy, gooey interior and this is one of the best cookies I've tasted in a long time. So glad to dish all this goodness to Yelpers and remind them of another gem in West U that will not only give you a great place to get a bite but satisfy that sweet tooth.

I stopped by with my buddy on a Thursday evening close to 9 p.m. Free parking was a cinch in the parking lot they share with several other businesses. Service (4.5/5): You order at the counter and then they bring your food out to you. The lady who brought me my food checked on me twice and was super nice. She called me "sweetheart," a little Southern hospitality goes a long way. Ambiance (4/5): Modern, clean, and comfortable. In line with other Dish Society locations I've been to. We sat at a booth/table combo. Drinks (4.5/5): I love when a restaurant has more than your standard selection of soft drinks. You'll find that at Dish Society. They have "craft" sodas and a nice selection of juice blends. Plus sweet and unsweet tea. Food (4/5): I went with a cup of the tomato bisque soup and the Nutella French toast. The soup tasted as good as it looked. Some croutons or a piece of garlic bread would have been nice, but outside of that, this starter couldn't have been better. The Nutella French Toast was similarly well done. I love French Toast and I love Nutella. So this was a match made in heaven. Along with some sliced strawberries and some blackberries, I was happy I went with a breakfast dish for dinner (they serve brunch all day). The prices are affordable for the quality of the food. My only complaint? The portion sizes are pretty small. Case in point: two slices of French toast when most places will give you four. Pro tip: Join their club for discounts.

Bottom line is that Milton's should be your go to place for just good old Italian fare but in an upscale but not stuffy atmosphere. Mark Sayre - the restaurant groups beverage director hosted the charity dinner for my wife and I and 4 other guests. We were served 9 courses family style including a couple of cold plates, a couple of salads, a couple of pastas and a couple of entrees along with a dessert. Everything was fantastic and Mark did a great job of hosting and explaining the wine pairings. The best of the apps was the Sicilian Tar tar. Tuna, scallop and salmon perfectly marinated on crostinis. The Hearts of Palm Salad was excellent, and they are definitely sharable, probably made for 3 - 4 guests to share. Of the two pastas the Cresta De Gallo stood out the most, but the Bolognese was also virtually perfect. Of the two entrees we enjoyed the Chicken Piccata slightly more than the Hanger Steak. On our second visit, Ryan was our server. He had been our server at Underbelly, One Fifth and Georgia James in the past and remembered us immediately and was a wonderful host for the meal. This time the table enjoyed the Chargrilled Oysters and the Parsley Salad to start. We also sampled 4 pastas - The Cresta De Gallo again, the Chitarra with Scallops and Uni, the Lumache with Vodka Sauce and the Sourdough Tagliatelle. All were fantastic. My personal favorite was the Chitarra. In the end we finished off all 4 so no leftovers. We then shared the Chicken Piccata as our only entree. This dish is so good. Juicy Chicken, flavorful sauce, and the Sourdough Tagliatelle was the perfect accompaniment. We also enjoyed two desserts - The Budino (which is more like a chocolate tort than a pudding) and the Tiramisu. Both wonderful. If Milton's wasn't over an hour from our house, it would become a regular on the rotation. But it is definitely good enough to warrant many return visits.
