I tried the falafel platter and maduros. The falafels were squishy and not very flavorful. The couscous also didn't have much flavor. The plate came with a garlic aioli which helped a little, but not enough. I think they also raised the price of the maduros or give less now because it was not much for the price. I would stick with the Swedish meatball (as my daughter said - why try the non-Swedish offerings?"
A medal should be pinned on whomever the marketing person in Sweden is that thought that putting a cafeteria style restaurant in a furniture store was a good idea. It is simply ingenious and customers love it. We certainly do. By putting a restaurant in-store, people can spend all day shopping and not get hungry and go outside for food. The restaurant serves a extremely low-priced breakfast and a more than reasonably priced lunch. Plus it's even open until 8pm most nights that you can eat all 3 meals here. Who would have thought that a furniture store's best selling item is not a piece of furniture or houseware, but a meatball? The Swedish Meatball is IKEA's ubiquitous symbol. They want you to come to the store, eat lots of meatballs, be satisfied, buy lots of furniture and we oblige. Sometimes if we're in the neighborhood, we come just to have lunch and end up buying something in the marketplace. IKEA wins on those occasions just by getting us into the store. But it's not just about the meatballs. The menu has variety for the whole family. There's usually roasted chicken & broiled or poached fish dishes with heathy vegetable sides. There's chicken fingers & fries with mac & cheese for the kids. Cold sandwiches and salads are also available alongside tasty desserts. The main best seller, of course is the Swedish Meatball Plate that comes in the basic 8 meatballs with a scoop of mashed potatoes smothered in gravy, sweet peas and lingonberry relish at the current price of $9.99 and if you're extra hungry, an additional $1.50 gets you 4 extra meatballs. They even have plant-based balls, if you're vegetarian. If you have their IKEA Family membership (free to join), scan your card at the register and your drinks are free! One of these years, I'm going to make it to their annual Smorgabord!
I made a trip to IKEA to pick up some housewares for the kids and decided to drop into the restaurant for some nostalgia. I haven't been in the IKEA restaurant for years. Ambience - still feels like a cafeteria. Food - no more of the shrimp and egg sandwiches but at least the meatballs are still here . Unfortunately, they were warm and not hot. The portion sizes are also smaller now ... 8 meatballs instead of 15 like back in the day. If I were rating just on the food, I would have given 3 stars, but nostalgia gets an extra star for IKEA.
The meatball was really good. I got the kid's version so I can try to salad as well. The price was pretty fair. I got these 2 things for 15 bucks. The smoked salmon is awesome, not too salty or fishy. Overall a great experience.

Breakfast at IKEA is one of the simple pleasures in life. It's simple and cheap, and good enough for what it is. It's only served for a couple of hours in the morning, so getting there in time is a fun race. You're surrounded by a regular crowd of older folks who come every week or everyday. I go for the Bacon & Eggs plate, that comes with some potatoes too that are pretty dang good. It's real basic and cafeteria quality, but a pretty big portion size that you really can't complain for $4. Back in the pre-covid days it was $1.50 which was a ridiculous stea. And if you sign up for the free IKEA Family thing, you get free coffee or tea. The staff is friendly, the seating area is all recently renovated and bright & sunny, and its usually nice and quiet on weekday mornings. And when you're all done, buss your tray, take a nice stroll through some fake bedrooms, and be off to start the day. Is it mass produced? Yes. Is it under seasoned? Yes. Is it actually somehow fantastic? Absolutely.
A classic favorite that brings about nostalgic memories. Swedish meatballs are a must at this food venue!! So flavorful and delicious for such a cheap price. The garlic bread is also crunchy for both pieces valued at less than $2. The rainbow cake was so cute that I had to get one ASAP. Service was top notch with friendly employees there at all times. They even wanted to clear my plate for me, which I so appreciated. I recommend this place for anyone, especially those with families! Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 5/5
Haven't been here for a long time. Price has gone up definitively and expectedly. It's not considered cheap anymore. I probably get it cheaper at the mall food court. -Swedish meatball (12) with peas and mashed potato $11.49: taste was ok but not worth $11.49 - chicken tender with fries $8.49. Nothing special. It was ok. Fries are fresh. Crispy outside. - chicken thigh with chopped veggie: I think it's $9.99. Chicken has no flavor, small piece of chicken. Veggies were watery. Wont order next time - free coffee/tea. - no tips needed. Cafeteria style. - place is clean. Workers clean table fast. - self serve beverage machine. Overall it was ok. Everything was ok except the chicken dish. Free coffee was nice.
Really, IKEA? This is absolutely disgusting. I can't believe the state of this place. It's unacceptable for a store of your reputation to have such poor cleanliness and maintenance. This needs to be addressed immediately for the sake of your customers.

It's one of those times when you're thinking "WOW, everything looks great and that can't be the price!". The actual plates don't look like the pictures at all. The only detail that is accurate is the price which is well below expectations. As far as the food quality, the breakfast eggs are horrible. There isn't enough ketchup, salt, and pepper to make them edible. The fried potatoes are some of the worse I've ever had. Soggy fried potatoes are a complete waste of effort. The pork chop breakfast was incredibly dry and salty. The afternoon options which include Swedish meatballs are way better. These one bite morsels drenched in gravy were super tender and flavorful. The Blueberry Mousse is a nice finisher, just the right density and Blueberry flavor. The IKEA restaurant is a nice place to sit and relax after getting through half the store but know what to order and you'll be fine!
I know people go to IKEA for their furniture.. but I go to IKEA for their Swedish meatballs... if you go upstairs by the children's section there is a really big food hall. Before I talk about the food some unique features to point out about the dining area itself is that the tables and chairs and light fixtures are in sections and are definitely things that you can purchase in the store which I find to be really creative. There is also a little play area for kids to keep them occupied once they are finishing eating. To get food, you wait in line and grab some trays. They even have carts for you place at least three trays to easily push back to your seat. The menu is displayed clearly on screens and then you can either grab a salad or order a hot meal which they slap on a plate for you. Then you bring your food over to the cashier to check out. Although the process was very organized, I didn't give five stars because the line went super slow. I just really wanted to eat my meatballs! Hahaha
I like the coffee and food here but WTF is this?!! Thermal carafe in an ice tray, ice mixed with spilled milk in there?!! It's a thermal carafe, it doesn't need to be in an ice tray, stupid people are just making a mess out of it!! GET RID OF THE ICE TRAY! GROSS! Because of the gross set up by the coffee, I only gave 2 stars, food and coffee was good though.

My friend ordered a small order of meatballs, she plated a large one, he advised and she wanted to argue with him about what she heard. Just take some meatballs off and move on. We asked nicely for a little more gravy and sauce and they growled like it was a big issue. We asked about a particular item and they were not happy to answer anything. Meatballs and mash are what you expect but prices have gone up a lot. Chocolate cake was dry and very sweet. Fries were meh. Garlic toast is fine. Will the service stop us if we're back here? No. Will it deter anyone? No. It's a quick easy meal after shopping.

Back at Ikea restaurant for lunch and this time on the menu they added fish balls. In the past, they had salmon balls which I've tried and it was ok. the fish balls were made of haddock and they were golden. It comes with a dill sauce and lingonberry sauce as well as mash potatoes and a bean variety. $9.99 for 16 which is a great deal. I went with the 12 for $8.49 and supplemented it with 4 Swedish meatballs. They were so good! As an Ikea Family member, coffee is free. We also tried the cinnamon scone and that was fine. Service is friendly and efficient. There is plenty of seating, mostly table and some bar. Will have to take my son when he returns from school! read more
After spending all morning playing games at the next door Round1, this restaurant was a good spot to get a relatively inexpensive and filling meal. Luckily when we visited, they had a promotion for buy one get one 50% off for adult entrees. I also had some reward points saved up which I redeemed for $5 off and a froyo cone. Lunchtime was quite busy but the line moves relatively quickly. They have cute little carts for food trays so there's no awkward game of balance as you try to spot a free table. You can grab your own metal utensils (forks, knives, spoons) and peruse the cold offerings like dessert, sandwiches and salads before getting to the hot food area. We got an order of classic Swedish meatballs and feeling adventurous also added on an order of their plant-based meatballs (which did not hold a candle against the classic Swedish meatball). IKEA members get a free hot coffee or drink so be sure to grab a white cup for this. Teabags were by the register and hot water was by the hot coffee dispensers. Glass cups are for the soft drinks. 8 meatballs is a good portion for one person (since the dish comes with mashed potatoes, gravy, lingonberry jam and peas). We shared 12 Swedish and 8 plant balls and left absolutely stuffed after clearing both plates. Also sampled a bit of all the soft drinks they had available and I liked sparkling pear and sparkling lemon (reminds me of Sprite...but healthy?) the best. Made myself a milk tea by adding a bit of half-and-half and a packet of sugar to my hot tea. read more

Hadn't been to the IKEA food court for a few years but stopped by recently for dinner. Looks pretty much the same as last time; pretty no frills and laid back just how I like it. They have hot foods, salads, wraps, etc... which are all pretty decent but nothing to really get excited about. I got the swedish meatball meal ($6), which comes with meatballs, steamed veggies, and mashed potatoes. They give you some gravy and cranberry-ish sauce as well. The meatballs and mashed potatoes are fairly tasty and the steamed veggies were pretty nuked so you can't taste them much. The portion size is definitely disappointing though; it's not much and they should definitely give you a lot more for your $6. I'd probably give two stars if I just rated my dinner alone, but there are a few other noteworthy things about the IKEA restaurant. First off, you can get a somewhat nutritious meal here for pretty cheap compared to fast food places in the same price range, so that is a plus. Also, IKEA restaurant offers extremely cheap breakfast platters from like $1-3. They come with items like eggs, potatoes, sausage, and french toast depending on which one you get. The $1 breakfast is pretty small but for $1 you can't complain. Lastly, the counter by the checkout area downstairs has $1 soft serve frozen yogurt and other stuff like cheap pizza. The frozen yogurt in particular is very popular. : - ) read more

you get what you expect. The price of the food is very very reasonable! Nice to eat after a shopping spree. However, the taste is very bland. That pizza needed sm juice & some spicy kick to it!! Felt like those school lunch pizzas. But appreciate the reasonable price though :) read more
While shopping in the store of IKEA, you must experience the entire experience by dining at the restaurant. Everything is pretty cheap. About $6 for a meal. My boyfriend got the Swedish meatballs. It came with mashed potatoes and string beans. He thought the meatballs were just average. Nothing special. I got chicken tenders with fries, for my inner child. :) The fries and tenders were actually quiet good. Nice and crispy but not overly fried. We shared a marzipan cake slice. It was alright. Nothing to write home about. I had asked for ranch dressing for my tenders. The ranch dispenser was out and I had politely asked a staff member for more ranch. She completely ignored me and walked away. After a few minutes I went back to see if she filled it. She didn't. I asked again, and she gave me an attitude. Now my food is getting cold. I figured, let me try one more time. Third times a charm? This time the ranch dispenser had still not been filled. However, the employee Jonathan helped me right away, and I finally had some ranch! It's cheap average food. There is something for everyone, including vegetarians. Good spot for a quick bite while shopping. read more

Not only is the food inexpensive and good, such as the Swedish meatballs and chicken fingers (our favs), BUT you also get a very nice dining experience in a real life dining setting. It's convenient to eat here before, in-between, or after your IKEA shopping. Happy shopping & Happy eating at the same time = BLISS!! Tip: Unlimited refills on drinks. Free coffee or tea when you use your IKEA Family card! For snacks, we love the frozen yogurt but tastes like soft serve ice cream, hot dogs, and cinnamon buns!!! There is a kids menu and I can't wait to bring my little one here! read more
This is the best reason to go to Ikea. We were shopping for some furniture and wanted to get a bite to eat. We popped into the cafe and headed towards the line. There are cars for trays if you plan on getting more than a person can carry. I was not. Like Ikea itself, the customers are the worst part of the place. They try and get around people in line and act like they have never heard of eating before. However, it isn't about them. This is about the great food and staff. While the line was long, they effectively worked their way through the people and got them off to the register. I had the turkey with some mashed potatoes, vegetables and some berry. The food was really good. There was a wide selection and the staff did a great job. I would recommend the place for anyone that wants a good cafeteria meal at cafeteria prices. I come here all the time for lunch. I get the meatball meal which comes with vegetables, mash potatoes, jam, and gravy. If you want to substitute for fries for any one of the above, then you can do that too, just let the servers know. The chicken tenders are good too. Off to the side, there is raw salmon slices, dill, and salad. Tastes pretty good, but the salmon is salty. The place is affordable and if you have the Ikea card, you can also get free coffee. I like the atmosphere. It's clean, feels spacious, and just had an overall good vibe. The lines are not long either. I recently tried the breakfast there, which opens before even the rest of IKEA opens. The breakfast meal was overall decent. A lot cheaper than diner food at about the same quantity. The scrambled eggs were typical, and so was the sausage. The potato pieces were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, which I liked. As for the "pancakes", more like crepes, were too floury in the inside. I didn't like it. I saw toast last time so if I do come back, I'd probably substitute the toast in place of the pancake. Monday serves free breakfast. Overall, would come back for lunch. It's a maybe for the breakfast. read more
Lunch at ikea restaurant. Like I once said we never go home without a purchase. I had smoked salmon, Jen had Swedish meatballs. Delicious and not stuffed so Jen can shop. Dad wait here with this wall unit. I will get the car. The cutest one year old is sitting across from me, I smile he smiles. Every time I look he smiles. Ikea has always been one of those feel good places that I've gone to as a little girl. I remember they used to have this huge ball pit that my parents would drop me off in while they shopped. I loved it there! But then one year, they told me I was too big to play in the ball pit anymore. My heart dropped..such a sad moment in my life. $1 ice cream is my favorite as well as the Swedish meatballs. Although my recent trip there made me quite disappointed. They must have changed the way they make it because they taste so processed and they're so much smaller now. The basement is always a huge maze for me though so I try to avoid going downstairs. It's nice to just walk around in there. read more

Everything here is so cheap and good. Especially the swedish meatballs which is their classic dish that never changed since forever. I have come here countless times, however, I would always go back to ordering the swedish meatballs because it's the best item on the menu. Don't forget, if you are an IKEA member that you get a free coffee during your visit, you just have to show your IKEA card. Membership is free, so it's best and also very easy to sign up. Weekdays here are my favorite because there aren't too many people and a lot of space to choose from, and getting your food is super fast. read more
Meatballs with mash potatoes soo goood sooo cheap. After a long day of walking through the home models and floor samples...eating some food makes you feel right at home. Come in for some breakfast, walk around and shop or pretend you live in IKEA's model homes, Lunch eat again, walk around some more, grab some hotdogs on the way out.. No buffet from an American IKEA will ever be taken seriously as Swedish food or even good food for that matter, but there is no mistake in that it's definitely cheap food. Modest portions coupled by clearance tag prices, I've always wondered how they could get away for selling breakfast for 99 cents or salmon platter for $5.99. But IKEA was never meant about quality, it's always been about affordability and decent presentation, an ideal that suits their food just perfectly. I will gravitate toward this location over the other nearby IKEAS (Brooklyn, NJ, etc.) because the crowds are usually fairly stable here instead of the maddening weekend zoo. It gets busier when there is a deal involved, the most recent one was the $9.99 all you can eat (AYCE) crawfish and they still have free breakfast from 8:30-9:30AM. Free is practically my favorite word, but the real question is - are the eggs, hashbrowns, and sausage any good? Shockingly not bad. (#1) Another thing I appreciate is this place is always well stocked. Other IKEA restaurant locations I've been to have had Swedish meatball shortages and it's never been out of the ordinary for the NJ location to run out of sides (mac & cheese, corn, etc.). I should also add this is a great place to duck out if furniture shopping isn't your thing. Good ol' IKEA meatballs... can't beat that as a quick savory bite ($5!!!) food is great for what you pay. If only it didn't come with the "lunch lady" attitude... EVERY time! The women behind the counter have the worst work ethics. It's just 11 am!!! What got you so stressed?! read more
