Affordable and consistent. They have a generous student discount so added points for that. Meatballs are tender but definitely high in sodium. Free coffee with a family card. I always get fries instead of the mash. Id probably skip on the mac and cheese. Definitely more for the childs palate. Gravy is the best part.
I wish we had an Ikea in Bakersfield. I'm gonna cross my fingers everyday and include IKEA in my prayers to open a location in Bakersfield haha. IKEA's restaurant is cheap and delicious and if you never tried it then you should. The meatballs are bomb with the lingonberries and mashed potatoes and even the peas are good! There's options for everyone here whether you're a vegan or a meat eater you will leave feeling satisfied. You have a choice to dine in or take your meal to go. I've done both and the food still tastes good the next day. The dining area is huge and there's tons of tables, so you won't have to worry about saving a table because there's enough space for everyone. The restaurant is self serve and it's similar to a school cafeteria where you grab your tray and pick your items then right before you walk out to the tables there's a cashier where you can pay for your meal. I have never visited during breakfast time, but I heard they have a good variety also and it's super affordable just like their lunch/dinner options.
2026/02/10: I came here today to check out their restaurant. Once you enter the building, use the escalator to go up one level, go forward, turn right to get to the restaurant. Grab a tray go thru the line, get your food, go to the cashier, pay, go to the dining area to enjoy your meal. Since it was my first time there, I only order the side orders portion to find out which food I like, They had 2 kinds of meatballs, the regular meatballs were lighter in color, the vegetarian meatballs were darker, the meatballs were good, The chicken tender was good with bbq sauce,!the fries were ok, nothing special, I need to add salt next time. The pasta with sauce was delicious. I need to order 2 portions next time. They have a lot of selection of desserts and food, too bad they don't have any beef products other than meatballs, The soda fountain was generic brand but they had diet cola which is my drink of choice, I may try their coffee next time. Everyone there was very friendly, nice and professional and very patient to answer my newbie questions, The dining area is wide, roomy and kept clean, I had a little difficulty finding my way out, all the path seems to lead deeper into the store, the way out was go down the stairs, then thru a grey door to get to to the lobby of the building to exit the building. Heh! I almost felt like the building was trying to prevent me from leaving, lol! I will learn next time.
Delicious food, friendly service, and a clean, welcoming atmosphere. Great experience at IKEA Restaurant!
Yesterday (3/14/2026, Sunday), I had lunch at IKEA with My Mom & Dad and my brother. My Dad and brother had the meatballs, I had the falafel balls, and my mom had the veggie balls (plant balls). It had been a long time since I last ate at IKEA, and I enjoyed the meal. However, I tried one of the veggie balls and didn't like the taste. The falafel balls were pretty good, and the meatballs were also good. If you pay with a membership card here, the coffee is free, and the coffee was actually quite good. The cornbread here is also tasty, and the employees were friendly. But one thing: some of the trays used for carrying food were very dirty. Also, there were no spoons or forks in the places where they were supposed to be, so we had to walk around and look for them yesterday.
Went and grabbed some food here over the weekend. They have a great deal of marinara pasta with four balls (you can pick from any type they have) for only $1.99. Got two of those (one with plant balls and one with their new fish balls), as well as a cinnamon scone and fries. I get fries because they have many good dipping sauces, but honestly, the French fries are really not very good. I wish they had a better vestal for their dips. Other than that, service was fast and very nice.
If you've ever visited any IKEA in the world, but haven't had their Famous Swedish Meatballs... Have you really ever been to IKEA?? Yeah!! I'm calling YOU out. Not getting IKEA's meatballs is the equivalent of... Going to Costco and not getting their $1.50 hotdog. And/Or Going to a carnival and not getting a funnel cake. Yes! These are not optional suggestions like, "hmm maybe I'll get the meatballs." No!! These are mandatory rules, customs; the actually by-laws of the land of Sweden ;) Cause if there's anything that the Swedes have mastered other than selling you a box of furniture with 3000 parts named something I definitely cannot pronounce.... It's their Swedish Meatballs! Yeah! 12 meatballs in a delicious brown gravy. Accompanied by a scoop of mashed potatoes, approximately 365 peas (not really, but later I'll tell you what is 365), the most delicious lingonberry jam, and the cutest little Flag of Sweden ever!!! Yes, you are in for a treat! But don't you worry, the IKEA restaurant is not just limited to its balls of meat! Potato cheddar cod, various salads, chicken fingers & fries, cold wraps and of course small plates for the kids. But my favorite part of coming to IKEA besides walking around this massive store looking at all of the cool things all while having a belly full of meatballs.... The vanilla soft serve ice cream cone for dessert!!! And unlike McDonald's, their machine is always up! And remember earlier where I mentioned 365?? Well 365 is IKEA's return policy! Yes a whole year to return something, That's crazy!! So the next time you roll through IKEA... You know what needs to be done! But for now... It's time for me to get to work, I've got a cabinet to build. 3,000 parts? 150 steps?? Oh boy, I'm gonna need some more meatballs for energy. By the way, these instructions don't make any sense. Anyone understand Swedish? Ahh, I'll just wing it ;)
IKEA is the ultimate "reliable" choice when you're mid-shop or just want a cheap, decent meal. It's a cafeteria-style setup, so don't expect table service, but the efficiency is hard to beat. The Swedish meatballs are legitimately good. They're consistent, the lingonberry jam adds the pertect amount of tartness, and the gravy ties it all together. It's a classic for a reason and probably the best value-for-money meal you'll find in the area. It can get pretty chaotic on weekends with kids and crowds, but the seating area is usually clean and spacious.
I eat at the restaurant whenever I come to ikea. Is it tasty? No, but it is cheap. They have special deals from time to time and my most recent trip was $2 for their meatballs and pasta. It looked so sad but that $2 meal was enough to fill my stomach for a lunch. It tasted better than I expected too, with the meatballs and tomato sauce doing most of the heavy lifting in terms of taste. Overall, mediocre to below mediocre tasting food but for a ridiculously cheap price if youre hungry.
The Burbank IKEA restaurant is where hopes and dreams, and while it's good, go to die - but at least I could die with a plate of meatballs. After navigating a line system so confusing it felt like a theme park ride, designed by Kafka, I finally reached the promised land: the cash register. The Swedish meatballs arrived in their beige, glory, lounging in a gravy pool that could double as shiny wall paint, with mashed potatoes that whispered, "I was once powder in a bag." The lingonberry jam added its signature Scandinavian plot twist, while the salmon side dish politely reminded me that IKEA does, in fact, sell furniture - because it tasted ever so slightly bland. Speaking of furniture the cafeteria seating is what I imagine corporate IKEA furniture showroom would look like. It's said "yes, this is what people want while they eat their meat spheres in a bed of brown rose gravy." Chairs built for endurance, tables, built, lightweight, and flimsy - the aesthetic is very "mandatory training sessions with free lunches. And yet I can't stay mad. The whole thing kind of works. The chaos, the lines, the furniture that looks like a corporate break room. It's all part of the IKEA charm. I left full with energy to finish my full day lost around the showroom rooms.
Enjoyed our lunch at IKEA Restaurant on a Saturday afternoon. The eatery was busy and lots of people dining. Plenty of tables and chair available for seating. We met up with some friends to have lunch and shop with. I ordered the Meatballs with Mashed Potatoe, Macaroni and Cheese, 2 Garlic Bread, 2 fruit drinks and a latte. The servings of the Meatballs with Mashed Potatoes were plentiful as well as the servings for the Macaroni and Cheese. My child and I didn't finish our lunch. IKEA Restaurant kept the quality of their meatballs. The Garlic Bread was appropriately tasteful. The toasts were not burnt. The latte was just right. You can taste the espresso and temperature was just right. I like how everything is accessible to the diner including utensils, napkins and additional condiments. Pricing is also great along with the quality.
The IKEA Swedish Restaurant has a quick meal and variety. The Salmon was tender, Sloppy Joe was hearty with tater tota, and Cod had a crispy coating with mashed potatoes and peas. Rainbow Cake was colorful. It's a great place to take a break while shopping.
So after decades of not even looking at the restaurant because they never had vegan options... a few months ago the overhead lighted menu caught my eye. What??!! A plant Dog and a veggie Dog. I googled immediately, yes both are vegan. Woohoo. So I tried the veggie Dog. Serving team very nice and polite. Order number called before I even sat down.

I wish this Ikea was closer to me so that I could visit more often. Everything here is great tasting and at a very affordable price. The Salmon Fillet is my new favorite dish so good and the quiche it comes with is super complimentary in flavors. I want to try their breakfast next since I see a lot of people raving about it. Until then, the meatballs and salmon Fillet have my heart. The desserts too look great :) read more
For the price, convenience and ease of this place, it's win win. Cafeteria style, very inexpensive food and delicious at best, this place is a great place for a quick morning breakfast, afternoon lunch, or dinner. Also has WiFi which is great and the staff are super cool. read more

I'm a frequent shopper in IKEA but I come even more frequently to Ikea Restaurant. I don't know any other restaurant in Burbank that offers meals without excessive fats, spices, grease, salt and sugars. You don't have to order meals exactly as they are on the menu, they are flexible. My usual choices are on my photos I posted here (I prefer not to order gravy to stay slim)) Very spacious, clean, nicely aired, all Ikea brand design! NO NOISE MUSIC! Large easy parking by the IKEA entrance on ground floor, and in the underground parking, plenty of spaces on both levels! read more
I love coming to IKEA because not only checking out home essentials but also for their restaurant! Such affordable meals and variety for the family. The Swedish meatballs are delicious with the mashed potatoes and veggie in the side and that's usually what people come here for. I don't blame them. They also offer salads, desserts, chicken tenders and more. Downstairs near cashier area you can also find pizza, soft serve ice cream, etc. I had their smoked salmon on the side as well and it was worth. For dessert, I tried their strawberry shortcake and it was divine Would definitely come here if ever I'm craving IKEA food. read more
Like most people I think that the reviews for the restaurant were higher than the store. We queued in a long line, but it went good until a couple that was right in front of us had to ask every single ingredient that was in the food from the server. Seriously if you have such restrictive diet requirements maybe do some research first rather than keep 50 people waiting so you can discuss whether it has butter or dairy. You are not more important than everyone else. When they finally stopped wasting everyone's time we ordered the Swedish meatballs and the vegi-balls for my wife who also has made some food choices but didn't hold up the line...vegi...not dairy balls folks. The plates ranged around $6.00 and had the meatballs, mashed potatoes and green beans. Coffee was free with the IKEA family card you can get when you register. They also offered free meal on next visit for the same amount? That is what it seemed, so we will check that out. Tables were plentiful and the food was tasty...why not come here even if you are not taking the many mile stroll through the store? read more
I'm all about the Swedish meatballs and gravy..honestly, I don't know why I bother trying anything else, but I do..and always am disappointed. First, who knew it would be so crowded on a Friday before New Year's...but it was. Lines were 3 rows deep. But we amused ourselves and before you knew it, we were up. We were directed to go across to line two, which we did. We grabbed a tray caddy (love that!), 3 trays and started with dessert first. Not sure why it's set up that way, but we did and up getting a dessert. I think it was mousse, at least that is what I wanted. Not sure if that's what it was..but it was good, whatever it was. (kind of more like creamy Jello fluff-ish). Now again.. I KNOW I SHOULD JUST ORDER SWEDISH MEATBALLS.. But I was trying to be good and ordered the vegetable balls plate instead..yes nope! Mushy, bland, bleh. Didn't like the vegetables but the rice/quinoa mix was ok. Good thing I got a side of Swedish meatballs! Lol! I do love those! I had to wait for the mushroom soup. Asked the people twice and they said, yes we have more..and they just disappeared again. So I paid for it and sat down and came back. I asked again and finally someone put a new pot out. At least it was fresh. And yum! I got in a line to pay, stood there for a few minutes(thinking uh, meanwhile our food is getting cold) , then the cashier kinda barked at us rudely, that there's one line. Well when we got there there wasn't a line!, but there was now...and Thankfully the pale inn line recognized that indeed we had been there well before them and allowed us to go first. Fortunately we didn't end up going to that rude cashier (she was the register closest to the windows, see receipt posted for time) Our cashier was very friendly. I asked to pay for my soup, even though I didn't have it yet and she was very understanding. We grabbed our seats and ate. Overview: Soup, meatballs, chicken tenders and coffee were great. Fries and garlic toast were ok. Dessert mousse, eh. Service half terrible, half great. Line cooks weren't very attentive to empty soups, but other than that very nice and professional. Dining area clean (very crowded, but clean). Bathrooms clean. Of course we will be back..but MEATBALLS & SOUP 100% for sure. read more

Love their food and the Cafe. They did a beautiful job. I bought at least $30 worth of Ikea bags to use it for work. It comes I'm really handy when I'm delivering for Amazon. read more
My dining experience at this new and improved IKEA Cafe was decent. I wasn't overly hungry, having eaten one of my wife's large homemade Belgian Waffles just 3 hours earlier. But the Vegetable Balls Plate with lentils was superb. Also with a side of vegetables included; some of the best Brussel sprouts I've ever tasted, and yes, I'm one that actually loves Brussel sprouts. Carrots and collie flowers rounded out this light dish. Oh, and a side salad for which I would have liked a few other choices of dressing. My wife had the Spare Ribs Plate, with veggies and mashed potatoes. We shared a bit of each, and I thought the spare rib was a bit too dry, but passable. My wife enjoyed the mashed potatoes and her vegetables, as well as her side salad. Overall, a very decent meal and selections. Not great, but high quality cafeteria fair. And on entry, take notice of the two lines serving the same menu items. Everyone tends to keep to one side when there are actually two sides to order from. And the handy mini rolling carts, with slots to stack your multiple trays, are superb for transporting your meal to a table. My true rating would probably be closer to 3.5 stars rather then 4. read more
I've only eaten here on weekdays (usually a little before noon to avoid lunch crowds) and have found the line to be relatively quick. Also, just FYI - if you become an IKEA family member, they give you a coupon for a meatball entree (either the meat or veggie, I'm assuming) and a dessert for your bday month. - I got the meatball entree, which comes w 8 meatballs, mashed potatoes, and a side of string beans, plus gravy and cranberry sauce. It's the perfect amount. Is it the best quality food you'll ever have? Not really. But is it worth it? Yes. It's a cheap and quick meal! No complaints. - I got a side of veggie meatballs which come w a curry sauce. This was just more for curiosity. It wasn't bad but I probably will only get the meatballs from now on. - blueberry mousse: I ate one bite and was like naw. Ahaha. I'm just not a fan of mousse, so that's just me. I also am not a fan of jelly bottoms. But it was free w the meal, so I'm glad I got to try it! I wish it had at least one crunchy element to it. When you're done, you put away your own tray and throw away trash/food in their respective bins. I've also gotten the salmon entree before and thought it was good. Just watch out for bones. read more
This IKEA restaurant is very big. Had two sides to enter to grab your food. Lots of walking room for the carts to travel around the area to order. And the seating area wow. They have couches not just dining tables. Actually two areas with couches kind of like a lounge area. Love the decor around. The food is pretty much the same. Not sure about the short rib being $8.99 for a small piece. Oh yes and four pieces of Swedish meatball for $1.00!? That's pretty expensive for four. But the rest is pretty good. The Chocolate chocolate cake wow not too rich but just right. What was great is the two different side you can enter. No more long lines. But I'm sure on the weekend it is long. Location is right above the entrance. read more
BEST VALUE BREAKFAST AVAILABLE in LOS ANGELES area in my opinion (Store located in Burbank, which is a short drive from Los Angeles) It is unbelievable what you can get for your money. The Swedish Pancakes are DELICIOUS. Where else can you buy eggs, sausage, potatoes, and pancakes WITH a drink for $5.00? I Love Ikea, and Love the Cafe just as much! Breakfast Hours are from 9:30a to 11a daily. Drinks are even self serve, so you can go back for seconds. There is ample parking in the attached parking garage. Since the restaurant is in the front of the store. You don't even need to enter the store and buy anything to enjoy the food at IKEA Cafe. I imagine some people go just for the reasonable food, without even shopping. Highly Recommend the Swedish Pancakes! YUMMY read more
How can you give Ikea's meatballs anything less than 5 stars!?! This new location is the largest in the country. Came here with my baby. And worked off dinner, taking a tour of every inch of the place (which is supposed to be as large as a few football fields.) I'm not sure about the rest of the food but meatballs were delish, inexpensive & you can choose from beef, chicken or veggie. We always have a fun 5 star time together when my daughter and I go out. But we love us a good smorgasbord and a foodie adventure. And eating at IKEA is just a good time! read more

So you've never heard of IKEA's restaurants (how dare you) then you've clearly focused on that pillow or desk you needed and walked right passed it. In general they are the only reason I go to IKEA (I'm looking at you, friends who've forced me) but it's so worth it. They have a good variety of foods but my go to dish has to be the meat balls. I've had the good fortune to have frequented a couple locations and I think this ones the best one so far. Add to that the chill location where you'll get a beautiful view of the freeway (eh, I'm simple). Anyhow, it had great service and the food itself was tasty as heck. read more

Every time I come to Ikea I gotta get my snacks !!! Lingonberry drink, cinnamon roll, pizza, and yogurt. Not all together but a few at a time. Today was no different however, I had some new snacks today. I had a veggie dog and a lingonberry slushy. Not bad. For like $7 my fam got two pizzas, 2 veggie dogs, chips, and a drink. Where else can you find a deal like this !!! Cheap food, decent quality, reliable cafe/restaurant. read more
Satisfied my craving- those ligonberries with the Swedish meatballs- such a great combination. They now have Salmon balls that were pretty good, but needed the gravy and ligonberries. Great dinner for $5.99 and actually I enjoyed a kids meal with 4 meatballs for $2.99. What a deal. read more

Ikea restaurant changed the menu and cut customer incentives. I guess the Swedish furniture giant gets too comfortable in some way. So no more chicken meatballs or beef meat. For those who don't eat pork the choice is pretty limited which sucks. Furthermore the Ikea family card incentive of free coffee does not include espresso drinks such as Cappuccino and Latte Macchiato (from free to $1.50 charge now!) anymore. Not as half as good of a value as it was before: In other words, this place sucks now -1 star only! read more
This is the cheapest breakfast you'll get in Burbank, and it's actually pretty tasty. It reminds me a lot of a breakfast you'd get while staying at a hotel. It's served cafeteria style. My friend and I got meals that were under $3 each. The meals filled us up for hours until we ate a late lunch. The eggs were a little watery but the Swedish pancakes were delicious! It's a great option if you want to casually go out for breakfast but don't want to break your bank. The parking garage is huge. Plenty of parking. Go through the main entrance, look ahead, and you'll see a big sign on the wall pointing you to the restaurant. Plenty of seating and big windows so it feels open. LOTS of families, which I don't mind, but if you don't like children, I wouldn't recommend. read more
Snack Bar at IKEA now has a Vegan Hot Dog! I had to try it and must say I love it! I will definitely go back for another. Unlike most plant-based hotdogs I've tried in the past, this one is far superior. Not mushy in the center and the taste was great. For all the Vegan readers, I encourage you to try one. I also want to say kudos to IKEA for providing more Vegan plant-based options! read more

Came here a few times for breakfast. Amazed to see how people in the medical field (can't hide the scrubs!) frequent this place for the $2 breakfast. Coffee is really good...especially when you have the family card and it's free all day. Food is excellent and plentiful. We usually pick up the lingonberry jam in the food market downstairs to fill the void in between visits. read more

I give IKEA furnitures a FAIL (it's no secret that it's cheap and poor quality for a reason) but they get a praise from me for having a vegan option at their cafe, and it's reasonably priced too considering the amount you get. It's Scandinavian - so it's portioned just right to satisfy you and not cripple you to a point of food coma - which is the American way of eating. Anyway, the aforementioned vegan plate consists of a grain (a blend), steamed greens and veggie balls with sauce. I didn't have high expectations, I went in thinking it's going to taste "just okay" but it was actually good! It wasn't oily or salty at all. For a plate that cost just under $5, it's a win! The dining area is large, spacious and airy with a view of the Hollywood Hills and Burbank proper. read more

If you like waiting in long lines, disaffected employees and tepid food served cold you've found heaven! This tribute to Cold War era cafeteria food would be ok if someone, anyone just cared about service. You get some nice hot food from pleasant chefs, and then you wait in a long airport security style line for the privilege of paying $10 a plate. Then face another line to find some empty ketchup containers and dirty utensils. Meanwhile your once-wonderful food is now cold and congealed. A fitting tribute to Eastern European peasant labor farms. read more

No IKEA shopping experience is complete without stopping at the cafeteria before heading out. It's just a staple. After filling our heads with ideas, walking the entire showroom floors, and purchasing probably more than what we actually came in for, we stopped by the IKEA cafeteria to now fill up our stomachs, excited to try their Vegetable balls and of course the traditional Swedish Meatballs dish. Unfortunately, before even getting a chance to come close to finishing up our meal, we were both bombarded with severe stomach pains and were forced to abandon our meals and rush to the nearest bathroom. I have never had an experience like this at any of the IKEA locations. Due to having to deal with the pains and having to retreat to the bathroom every 10 minutes this review will be short but considerably far from sweet. I am highly disappointed and I now have a fear of trying the food again, the food that once was a tradition and had once brought such a simple piece of joy to us, is now a nightmare. read more

I love it here. They have both breakfast food and lunch time food. Their breakfast consists of eggs, sausage, potatoes, bacon, waffles, etc while their lunch has swedish meatballs, salmon, and pasta. When you get here, you'll notice that everything is super cheap. Sides are $2 or less. The salmon dish is $5 and drinks are $1-$2. Everything is great for the value. You're not coming here looking for the greatest food on Earth, but you'll definitely be happy you stopped by in between shopping to find some good cheap food. Side note: Join their family members program and get free coffee for life! read more

Omg. No trip to Ikea is complete without stopping at the cafe and getting some Swedish meatballs. The cafe is huge and super clean. You can see the employees busy keeping everything clean and stocked ( spoons, forks, etc). Plenty of space for seating and completely family friendly. The prices are absolutely ridiculous in a good way and the portions are quite generous. The actual food is bomb! Completely making me consider having this for dinner at thanksgiving. Swedish meatballs (11), mash potatoes, veggies and a side of lingonberry sauce. Yummmm. All for 6.95. Stick with the fountain drinks, you can get lingonberry drink there. Also, if you have you Ikea family meme era hip ( free to join), you get free coffee. Dude, something is something, haha. Plus, kids eat free on Tuesday with an adult entree. read more
