Ordered online on sale; didn't hear from them for 2 months. They just disappeared. I finally disputed on my credit card. Then they claimed they would have it in 2 more weeks. Then they tried to charge me more for the item read more

This is not a compliment nor a complaint but rather a "for other customers information" review: I purchased furniture for two bedrooms. Quality was good. Price was just OK about average with other competitors. The sleeper sofa I purchased for the second bedroom was not very comfortable so I had it re-done. The delivery people were rude and unprofessional. Did not bring shoe covers for my new carpet, yelling down the hallway, and then broke a sign over the front door of the building because they were impatient and careless on leaving. I called the store to speak with Mark and he never returned my call. A few weeks later, I went into the store to see him and he looked at me and ignored me. I had actually gone in there to order furniture for the living and dining rooms, but I decided to drop $12G elsewhere. I also wanted to mention that I spent money and time to have the sign they damaged repaired, but the delivery driver said there was a $40 balance. I thought that was really tacky that he wanted the $40 after inconveniencing me for an hour and a half's time for my handyman to come repair the sign. I gave him the $, but I highly recommend if you purchase here bring your own truck or get your own company to deliver. So two stars deducted: one for the delivery co. and one for no follow up from the store. read more

This exact table is at Design within Reach for 5x the price. I found a lot of dupes or unique furniture at a much better price which kept me in the store for a while! Upon entering I was greeted kindly without being hounded the entire time I was shopping. One of the best furniture shopping experiences I've had yet! Would highly recommend checking this place out . read more

After 18 years, I was in the market for new living room furniture. I'd been eyeballing the website. Went to the NoHo location and purchased a leather sofa and matching chair. With a discount, too! Should arrive in a few weeks since the chair is on back order. Great customer service from Marcel. I hope the delivery service is as good. Fingers crossed. read more

Great quality furniture at decent price. The sales team was friendly, and the delivery guys did a great job with no fuss or damages. Delivery time is on par or better than other retailers, but could have been communicated better - hold and ship confirmations were unpredictable and caused delays. Overall, I'm very happy. I got to furnish my new apartment with a beautiful, modular sofa, a dining table +4 chairs, a queen bed with mattress, +shipping .. for under $5K read more

Great Art Work! Awesome furniture, more on. The contemporary side. Best office selections in town!

After going through the worst experience with Ashley furniture and having no furniture because we moved, this place honestly saved us. We walked in there pretty frustrated with our experience from Ashley furniture and were immediately assured our furniture would be delivered in two weeks. Two weeks later, we get our beautiful furniture! I'm kind of glad the previous furniture store didn't work out because Scandinavian Designs furniture is much higher quality and wayyyy better looking. A month later, I am still very much enjoying my furniture. HIGHLY recommend this company! read more

Great selection and great customer care. I ordered two recliners from Norway and am thrilled with them. Some of the higher quality items, such as couches and specialized recliners made in Europe as opposed to Asia, are not kept in stock as much and you have to wait 6 months for delivery. I would suggest this location stock more pieces actually made in Scandinavia. read more

This is my favorite lower-priced furniture brand... I have a lot of their pieces in my house and have no complaints with the quality at all. This location - while maybe not as large as the Culver City showroom - is still well stocked and the sales team is terrific. They have decent sales, so make sure to sign up for their email list. And delivery to most parts of LA is a flat $100... which is a total bargain. If you're a fan of modern design at very reasonable prices, Scandinavian Designs should be at the top of your list. read more

AMAZING! My family has been coming here for over 20 years, ever since this place was called Plummers. We have furniture that has lasted us over 25 years... This is truly one of the only furniture stores where literally every single piece is stunning and well-made. The service is very friendly as well. Tom, the manager, was so helpful and kind. I was able to get my sectional and dining furniture scheduled for delivery in 2 weeks (which is pretty rare nowadays) - will update once the furniture arrives soon!! read more

I couldn't find what I wanted and called their manager who was the nicest person. They took my order, was honest about delivery dates, and helped me in every way. The products that received were exactly what I wanted and their price was better than all other stores. I highly recommend. read more

Love this store as we have purchased office furniture from it even when it was called PLUMMERS. So we have been customers for decades. We went there to add to our office in hopes of finding Snowflake-- I believe the line is called. But we were informed they were no longer selling it. Our salesperson did say it might come back after some adjustments?! However there was actually ONE small desk on the floor of that line waiting for us. We have always been met with professionalism & fine customer service. We shall continue to shop there because we love their design aesthetic. It's a truly best place to start read more

Aside from offering beautifully designed furniture and superior customer service, Scandinavian Designs also provided quick and easy delivery and set-up! Thanks, guys!! read more

After shopping for a comfortable recliner all over town, we went to Scandinavian Designs. Their showroom is filled with beautiful, well-made furniture, mostly with a contemporary flare and some with mid-century aesthetics. Lucie was very friendly and patient with us and we ended up ordering a medium-sized Ekornes Stressless Mayfair recliner. Upon receiving and sitting in the recliner for a while, I realized the fit was not as comfortable as I thought from trying it in the store - the headrest was too low and the edge of the seat didn't support my thighs very well. The recliner itself was well-crafted, it was just too small for me. Since the invoice clearly stated that special orders cannot be cancelled or returned, I thought I was stuck with it. But Lucie and the manager, Tom, arranged for me to exchange this recliner for another Ekornes model (large Reno) which fits me much better. I was so relieved and gratified that they were willing to make sure I was satisfied - the mark of an excellent, customer-oriented company. They said they wanted to keep me as a long-term customer; their service and help certainly guaranteed that! read more

I'm all about Plummers and I cannot rave enough about them. We bought our entire bedroom set at this location. I remember the night well... Hubby and I had moved into our house a year earlier but still didn't have anything that resembled a bedroom set....just a mattress on a frame and a beat up cardboard-like armoir. We saw an ad for Plummers and had to check it out! Unfortunately, Plummers was closing in 15 minutes and we were a good 15 minutes away...and it was raining...grrrr. We would never get there in time. So we called and the manager said he would keep the store open for us and to "come on down!" We hauled butt and made it just shortly after closing time, and true to his word, he waited for us. We walked into the store and my jaw hit the ground. I was in LOVE. Beautiful modern furniture at reasonable prices?! Heck ya! We picked out the bedroom set and even bought the mattress. Good riddance to the old one! The manager never pushed us to hurry up and make a decision. He just kept telling us to take our time. Our bedroom set was delivered a couple of weeks later, and we are still in love with it! read more

This used to be a Plummers store. Now it is called Scandinavian Designs. Same concept - beautiful, modern and retro furnishings. This is a large showroom with lots of merchandise for every room in the house. Some very similar designs are noted between this company and Plummers. However, the prices for the furniture overall are higher. I'm not sure the quality is better than Plummer's, so I'm not sure the pricing is justified. parking - free lot read more

Update: purchased my 2nd file cabinet from the North Hollywood store. Love this place! I cannot believe it took me SO long to stumble upon. It's chic design, Scandinavian style, lovely quality and variety. Best of all the price feels perfect. It's better quality and style than IKEA but with slightly higher prices, but not so high that you feel ripped off like you would at the big name corporate furniture stores. I wanted to furnish my whole place in their collection. read more

The furniture here is very affordable for designed furniture. They deliver and set up for a small fee. I have a couch and chair from here and was able to negotiate the prices down a bit too, yes you can negotiate here. The staff is extremely helpful and aren't as pushy as other places like Living Spaces. If your looking for a place that is more affordable than West Elm or Crate & Barrel, definitely come here. Quality is much better than IKEA and they do have some decent designs. read more

No butt crack here, (get it? Plummers?) just high quality modern furniture at reasonable prices. They deliver and set-up, you don't have to put it together yourself (I've gotten to the point where I'm too old to be dealing with IKEA nonsense). Ask for Mike, he's really helpful. read more

I have only been to Plummers once but it was AWESOME. We wanted to buy relatively cheap but nice stuff but did not want to deal with Ikea...I agree with Melissa A. about not wanting to put the stuff together. Plummers has a lot of floor/as-in type items that are hugely discounted and we bought a table that was around half off just because it had a couple scratches in it. You can barely see them. We also bought a floor model bureau that is in perfect condition and that was hugely discounted too. The third item we bought was a cute kitchen table and chairs that we love. Everything was black wood which matches all of our old Ikea stuff...(but knowing Ikea, that stuff could fall apart at any minute.....ehh, but that is for another review at another time!) Anyway, I think that have other locations but this one was great.......the delivery was pretty inexpensive and the only con was they were so early neither myself or Paul was home. When Paul got there they had already put everything together...on our lawn I guess! Overall it was a great experience.....I plan to go back there soon! read more

If you're looking for beautiful, classy furniture for your home or office you can't go wrong with Scandinavian Designs! I live in North Hollywood and found them online, decided to check out them out and was really glad I did. I was impressed as soon as I walked in with the exquisite design and obviously fine craftsmanship, the wide selection, reasonable prices, and overall lovely yet practical, sturdy and quality of their furniture. Tom was very knowledgeable and helpful, and I particularly loved their home décor and framed wall artwork (being an artist myself I enjoyed looking at all the wonderful pieces they had on display throughout the store). If you care about high quality and beauty in your surroundings, this is the place to go! read more

Hello, I have purchased some furniture from this store to find out later that it has some design flaws for example I bought a Queen size bed but the frame is too long and too wide for the matress. I had to go to Lowe's and buy a sheet of MDF to cover the frame slats. I have attached pics. I even had to get a long piece of foam to compensate for the 3" separation from the headboard. Btw, the headboard comes with a special wood frame that is attached to the bedframe. You'll end up with a 4" gap from the wall. I didn't like that so I got rid of that stupid frame and went back to Lowe's and bought a picture frame bracket to hang the headboard from the wall itself and wow! I love it! Almost no gap! read more

This place is a bit more expensive than I was expecting, but the furniture is beautiful and worth the price, I think. Modern, some vintage touches, really cool looking furniture. We loved it and would come here in the future. Customer service was pretty great too; we were both wearing shorts, t-shirts and flip-flops and, they still paid attention and were nice to us, helpful. That's a plus! read more

We bought our dinning table and chairs from here and we love it. They are of good quality and love the way they look. We also bought some outside furniture that we love as well. The prices are ok. I had one of my most frustrating customer service moments at this store and it's unfortunate because I've spent money there and was ready to spend money again. I called the store on a Saturday to confirm they carried a chair I needed for my dining room set. I was having a dinner party and needed one chair. The person who answered checked the computer and confirmed. I was able to have a friend loan me his van so we could pick up the chair just in case it didn't fit in my car. When we arrived, the service desk was busy with customers so we went to the showroom and found the chair we wanted -- a nice expensive leather chair to go with the set. We go back to the desk and wait some more until they call someone from the back and he helps us. We take him to the showroom and show the chair and he realizes I had called earlier to confirm. We then go to the desk to finalize the sale, I put down my credit card and the process is a bit longer than expected (he's apparently new) but soon the sale is done and we're ready to get our chair and be on our way. One major hiccup -- the chair isn't available until 4 days later. They realize they forgot to tell us that before they ran the credit card. At that point, I decide not to lay down the money because it doesn't benefit me four days later. We then start the REFUND process minutes after the sale was final. A manager gets involved and when he understands the situation, he offers one of the floor models from the showroom. So I ask what that will run us knowing that floor models are discounted. I'm thinking half price, maybe 40% off. He tells us that it's full retail price because they have a couple hundred in inventory and need to move units. What? Full retail price for a chair every Tom, Dick and Harry (and their wives) has sat on in the showroom and I have to pay the same as a chair sitting in storage in their warehouse? So I just cancel. When he hands me the paperwork, he tells me to order in a couple days if I still want the chair in four days. Uh, no. We have a bedroom set and a dining room set from Plummers. The bedroom set is falling apart (as is the same set my friend has). The dining room set still looks great. They were also a week late years ago when I originally bought the pieces and I had to sleep on the floor. For the price, marginal quality and poor customer service, we'll go to Urban Home or somewhere else. read more

Beautiful & high quality furniture. The pieces on display at the store itself are so gorgeous. Hard to choose from! The staff at Scandinavian Design were very helpful and accommodating to my changing circumstances. We purchased some items there for an office. Before receiving them the use of the room change to a bedroom and I couldn't use the office items. They allowed me to cancel the order without any penalties.
