Is APT2B in business? Is this a scam? Fraud? I purchased a sofa from APT2B for almost $1700 on Jan 23rd of this year. I received a confirmation email and an email asking me to confirm my shipping address on the same day. I received another email 3 days later stating that my sofa was in production. But almost immediately the website went down and is still under construction. They haven't replied to several emails I've sent and I recently spent over an hour on hold calling them before disconnecting, and despite the automation saying I was first in queue. I'm going to be following up with a bank dispute and pursuing legal action but am wondering what's going on because it doesn't look good. Sofa production is a fairly lengthy process so their quote of 2-4 weeks for production before shipping communication seems like a reasonable waiting period. Then a day or so ago I received 2 identical emails from 2 different people I don't know saying that the long email list included belonged to APT2B and they think it went bankrupt and closed its doors. I love the color and look of my Catalina pull out sofa. However, both the sofa and the pull out bed, with an upgraded mattress, are unbelievably uncomfortable and constantly leave back, neck and shoulder pain. It was going to be way to expensive to return and I hoped it would get better. It hasn't - it's still theost uncomfortable sofa. I submitted a review to the website 3 months ago and it has never been published. I'm extremely disappointed with the product and what feels like manipulation of their reviews. I purchased a chest and two nightstands from Apt2B's "Clifton" collection. I like the furniture, but will not go back to Apt2B. The packaging on the delivery identified the manufacturer as Modus Furniture, and that it is from their "Meadow" line of furniture. From there, it was a quick Google search to find at least three other retailers selling the exact same items for at least 33% less than what I paid at Apt2B while the items were "on sale" at Apt2B. (That is including the other retailers' delivery fees--I could have picked it up from a local retailer for even less.) All of those retailers identify the items as "Meadow" and have similar pricing. Only Apt2B changes the name and jacks up the price. I sent their customer care a message on their website (where it says "We will respond within 1 business day!") to give them an opportunity to keep a customer happy, but got no response. Writing this review to suggest to others that if you find something you like at Apt2B, you may be able to save a significant sum by looking elsewhere under other names. I am not going to mess with it (or their 15% restocking + shipping return policy) anymore. read more

We purchased a gorgeous sofa from this company a little over a year ago. But exactly a month and a half after the warranty all the button started popping out of the cushions! They won't cover it because the one year warranty is over but they're willing to send us a technician for $64 an hour and sell us replacement buttons for $7.50 each. We love our Apt2b sectional. We got the Bradbury 3pc Sectional Sofa and I can't say enough good things about it. First of all, I love that their sofas are made in the USA. Their customer service is amazing. I couldn't decide on a color because they have so many amazing choices, and they sent fabric swatches to help us decide. We went back and forth between different shades of Grey and Navy. When the swatches came in the mail, we studied our options and fell in love with "Thunder!" It's a beautiful shade of grey and the fabric is soft and stain-proof. And of course, it looks amazing :) read more

One of the pieces came damaged, but they were quick to replace and send over--like they sent it immediately. They helped coordinate pieces for my home and truly made the entire experience so special. They have a lot of stuff plus an on-line outlet. Staff are helpful and patient. Apt2B customer service is surprisingly pleasant. Not like all pressure-y which often happens at other furniture places. You can almost have great fun browsing the warehouse for chairs, sofas etc. Even if I didn't find the perfect piece, I'm tempted to return later to see what I might have missed or any new arrivals. I was very hesitant to order any large piece of furniture online but I read a ton of reviews and Apt2B seemed great. I have to say, as far as customer service goes they were generally excellent, though they clearly have internal communication issues because I was getting messages from two different people and they were kind of all over the map. Anyway, I ordered the Lawson sofa, and loved it for about 3 weeks...then it started to creak loudly on one side when you move around or sit down, no matter how softly. I thought it was the leg, but it's definitely the internal structure. I live alone and don't plop down heavily, so pretty goddamn disappointing that a $2000 couch is creaking and I've only owned it for 2 months. Beware of the quality of these y'all. read more

I had exactly the same experience as Weian W.'s review, and it's interesting to read the response from management (it's a boilerplate response). They said the same exact thing to me. Losing pieces of large furniture in shipping in with today's modern technology is unexplainable. Customers, please know this is not a one-time thing with Apt2D & Metropolitan (Weian's experience was just last month). They have no intention of getting better as a company, they are not sorry about their gross incompetence, and they probably are on their way out as a business. I ordered the Monroe 3 Piece Sectional and it is...perfect. I spent a long time looking for a couch at the "usual" places and could not find what I wanted at A) the right price or B) the right delivery time. Not only that, but I found the customer service experience at the West Elms of the world to be stressful and unhelpful. All that changed when I came across Apt2B. First and foremost, the customer service is incredible. The chat reps are great and personable and extremely well-acquainted with each piece of furniture. If you call Apt2B, it's more of the same - great and knowledgeable reps. The couch itself is great. It's very comfortable and looks fantastic. Delivery was easy (and free!). Our guests always comment on how nice our couch looks. The delivery time was very reasonable, the product is made in the USA and it costs less than most competitors' options. What's not to love? I'm very concerned with the shipping partners that APT2B is selecting for their white glove service. With any kind of cursory search they would have found that CBC Movers, servicing the PNW region, is sitting consistently below a two star average across Yelp, Google, and Facebook reviews. Even their BBB complaint page is within the top 5-10 search results on Google. Had a delivery today and the workers did not bring any tools or gear I would expect for professional movers like forearm or shoulder straps, or hammer/screwdriver to take the door off the hinges (I had to provide the last two). With one exception, they did bring a dolly for moving furniture. One of the movers repeatedly complained about how heavy the couch was directly to me as they were trying to figure out how to get it into our space. I made sure to measure the back door and the stairway leading to the basement before delivery and they met or exceeded the 32" minimum stated on the order page for the Marco sectional. Back door is 32" wide and it's a straight shot into the basement stairway which widens to 35", there is a rail that cuts pretty close to 32" just below waist level and it is about 7 1/4 feet to the ceiling above the stairs The 2-man crew got the couch fully into the doorway and they got to the stairs, but they never unwrapped the furniture so I'm assuming the plastic, cardboard, and cushions were adding bulk to the couch as they tried to get it down stairs. Not sure how it fit in the door, but not down the stairway which was wider. Based on complaints about the weight of the sleeper portion of the sectional, I'm surprised they did not attempt to unwrap it and remove the cushions and the folding mattress to lighten the load and reduce the size of the couch to make an easier fit. After this whole debacle they brought the sleeper section back outside and said it wouldn't fit, without attempting to remove the packaging, cushions, or legs! They said I would have to return the item or they could leave it. They didn't even attempt to bring in the lighter and smaller chaise portion of the sectional. I told them to leave the items but then they wouldn't even attempt to put the couch in the living room. Apparently paying for white glove service does not mean inconveniencing the delivery crew by changing rooms, moving the couch around the front of the house, along a paved path, through an even wider front door. Now I have two pieces of a sectional out on my back patio so I wouldn't have to pay a restocking fee. CBC Movers sent workers that didn't seem to want to be there without the tools they needed to complete the job. Extremely poor experience. I can't even comment on the quality of the couch at this point but I see a lot of other angry reviews with the quality of CBC's "white glove" service. I know APT2B is not responsible for the delivery directly, but who you decide to partner with still reflects on your organization and the level of due diligence you perform. APT2B was kind enough to refund the White glove service fees, but right now I'm unable to use the couch because I don't have the tools or the capability to move this couch by myself, which is why I ordered the service to begin with. read more

The replacement sofa lasted about 6 months before the zipper on the back split. The fabric entirely pulled. Just by regular sitting down and getting up. I trashed the replacement sofa--it would have had to have been entirely reupholstered to be used. I now have an Abbyson Home sofa and the other sofa I bought from Interior Define at the same time at this replacement sofa looks brand new. read more

I've had my sofa since September and it is not holding up well. The material is stretched out and ripplely and trying to smooth it out no longer works. The fabric is thin and I 'll have to get something to cover it pretty soon. I sent for a fabric swatch, but it had a backing on it so I didn't realize how thin the fabric is. I got a sofa from the Zane collection, which I see they no longer carry. This was not a custom order. It was one of the ready made. The craftsmanship was not so good. First time purchasing from Apt2b and I'm blown away by the quality of our new sofa! My husband and I recently moved to a new apartment and we were looking for the perfect grey sectional. We chose the Mulholland sectional which we are so happy with. The style is very modern yet the sofa is the comfiest I've ever sat on! The fabric is amazing. We have had a few spills on it already and it has been very easy to clean, leaving no traces behind. The customer service is also excellent! We had a small concern as a part of the side of the sofa was damaged during transit. Apt2b resolved the issue quickly and I was very impressed with the service. It's July 2020 Still love this sofa. Updated pictures. My kids are now 10 and 7. Still don't let dog on sofa but can say my boys are pretty rough with this sofa. It's been made into a fort many times. Cushions on floor to jump on or to balance on coffee table to make 'tunnels'. Nothing surprises me at this point. I bought a velvet sofa and it's very pretty and comfortable enough so that is good. But soon after using it, and I would say light use, the seat cushions fabric started to ripple which is annoying. I always have to smooth it out with my hands. I am an average weight person, and this isn't used heavily. I talked with furniture maker and he said there wasn't enough stuffing in cushions and/ or the fabric wasn't stretched tight enough hence the issue. Also black thread is coming up on one cushion. So the cushions are cheaply made. There will be butt dents and ripples quickly. I'm use to better quality furniture that doesn't ever do that and for the cost I don't think this should happen. read more

We ordered a couch and swivel chair from Apt 2B. The couch looks great and feels very well made. The swivel chair was completely wrong for our space and needed to be returned. Apt 2B advertises that returns are easy, but the cost was about one-third the chair price for "restocking" and shipping, or about $650. Having spent well over $5,000 for the two items, and with plans to order more furniture, I asked customer service if they would provide me with some accommodation. Rote response: "our policy is clearly stated on the web site." That is true -- but they have lost me as a customer. By contrast, when I wanted return items at Wayfair.com after the allowable 30-day return period, the manager noted that I was a very good customer and generously extended the return period. So policies can be flexible, something Apt 2B does not seem to realize. If the item you buy works well for you, you're in luck. But caveat emptor because the return is incredibly costly. read more

This made me assume, and I'm sure anyone else, that I would get another $150 off. This was not the case.
