Worst IKEA ever!! Impossible to navigate this store. Arrows on the floor don't help, signage isn't clear, staff is perplexed. When asked how do we exit they roll their eyes. We asked 5 people!! How can Oak Creek permit it? It's a FIRE hazard!! Stay away. Don't risk your sanity. read more

I love IKEA. This one is a huge disappointment. Out of 2 basic pieces of furniture. They were in the stacks but staff said they couldn't get them down. Lines were long. THEY HAD NO SWEDISH MEATBALLS TO SELL! Layout was exhausting and confusing. Restaurant very nice and staff were friendly. It's 45 minutes farther to Schaumburg. I'll just go there. read more

I just dont get the draw. I tried but it reminds me of a cross between a Hobo, Lowes and Ashley furniture. Sorry but I will stick with Steinhafels for my furniture needs. read more

Terrible IKEA. The Illinois stores are much better. We walked in the front door and there were NO CARTS. Upon asking the snippy-ass millennial at the front door, she informed us that we couldn't have one until we walked through all of the "showcases". Ridiculous. So we had to haul all our purchases through 1/2 the store in awkwardly huge yellow bags. The"showcases" did not list where any products were. Repeatedly asked for help and was told that the "shopping part" was past all the showcases and the cafeteria. Asked AGAIN for a cart, but nope. Finally get to the "shopping part", and they are out of stock on MANY items, including the Twin XL sheets needed for most dorm room beds. In mid July. Really. Navy blue bath towels out of stock also. Get over to the self-service furniture area and asking for help finding Twin XL sheets online. Was told by ANOTHER snippy-ass millennial that she can't control" what's in stock and "can't control" the layout of the website. No attempt was even made to help me. Get up to the checkout and was informed that the bathroom mirror was a display model. She actually rolled her eyes when I told her that I didn't know that because it was the only one on the shelf. Unbelievable experience. I will gladly travel the 2+ hours to go to the Schaumburg store from now on. read more

The. Worst. IKEA. Ever. I have an unreasonably strong attachment to the IKEA brand. I think that that is why I am so disappointed in this new store. When they chose to open their first store in Wisconsin, I think they made a conscious decision to make everything slightly less impressive and thus costly. This shows throughout: the tiny kids area that is constantly at capacity, the dining room that never has the second line open (even as employees stand by the overflowing crowd hocking their credit card), the decision to stop serving complimentary coffee up front to Family members, and the small overall size of the store. They should have literally taken the design of the Schaumburg IKEA and copied it exactly. It had so much potential read more

Worst ikea experience I've had after years of going to other locations. Way way too busy, line for the cafeteria was about a 45 minute wait, filthy tables, etc. Not worth it, I won't be back anytime soon. read more

Excelent store. I love the show room the most as it makes me think of what I could do with the funiture. I got a bed there last year, and I still love it. The cafe is almost the best part. The meatballs are delicious. I also really like the Lion berry juice, especially with ice. They sell so many things there. None of which arent ikea branded. Its obvious that ikea knows how to run a business. I also have to say that it's nice and cool in there. I will say it gets a little crowded but that's no big deal read more

My first IKEA experience and I am not impressed. I ordered a table and chairs online to be picked up from the store the next day. I came to collect my order and was told it would be a 15-30minute wait. After waiting for 2 hours I was told that the table was not in stock but could be shipped to me at no cost for the inconvenience. Today the table was supposed to arrive between 9am and 1pm. At 1:30 I was called and informed that there was a delay but delivery would be between 1 and 3pm. It is currently 5pm, I am still waiting for the table and have been given no new time estimate. Customer service representatives from both the IKEA store and delivery company have been lovely to work with, however this experience has been incredibly frustrating and I would not recommend shopping here. Update: my table was not delivered and I never received any calls or emails notifying me or attempting to reschedule delivery read more

I ordered two Gamleby chairs on line, on 8/29/18, delivery was estimated at 9/11/18, and they have not shown up. No contact whatsoever about the order. I called yesterday to inquire on the status, and no one could help me, referred me to a resolution group. Call was transferred, and an automatic voice menu hung up on me because they could not take any more calls. I tried again this morning, and I could not get in touch with any groups in the customer help menu. Same thing, call volume too high, can't take any calls now. A very poor way to run a business. I won't be shopping at an Ikea again. read more

This place looks so well organized when you walk in that I was disappointed in the lack of organization to get through the cafe. The line was long but that gave me time to read posters and figure out how things were set up. As we got closer to the food, they had posts creating kind of an S-shaped line. You got to select desserts or cold wraps. Then the delay started. There was only one person serving entrees and one the sides. They seemed efficient enough but you can only do so much. IKEA has capacity to have more 2 more serving stations but they were not staffed. Check out cashiers were quick and friendly but it took me over a half an hour to get through the line. I had the meatballs which were probably the second last serving from that tray. The bottoms were dry and hard to cut. I am guessing they sat too long in serving pan. Maybe an earlier batch would have been much different. The potatoes and veggies were good. I'll be back and will try once more to see if slow service is a pattern here. Meanwhile, it's fun to walk through their store and see so many neat things. read more

Don't shop at Ikea. We got a dishwasher from their store and was charged for removal of old dishwasher even though they didn't do it. I guess that was some random dishwasher i hauled out to the curb (sarcasm). They charge for services not completed which is essentially stealing. They need to stop contracting out to shady movers so they can take more responsibility. Terrible customer service. read more

Love the Salmon and meatballs. Great when paired with the free coffee for IKEA family members!

I'm a little disappointed. There's an item I really wanted, and was really the only reason I went there considering current events. However, the item is out of stock. I grabbed the display to see if I could purchase it, but the cashier told me I couldn't purchase the display. Now this is a 6 inch decorative flower ball. No one is going to miss it. I could understand if it was furniture. Never ever have I been to a store that wouldn't sell a display, or sample. The cashier's attitude was dismissive, not understanding either. It was a sale for them. They could have made more money. There was no other explanation she could give me other than they can't sell a display item. I just don't get it. read more

Never, never never use their delivery service. I have been waiting over three weeks for a couch that I paid for and they have failed to deliver. Their customer service by phone is impenetrable, and their delivery company is a hapless mess. We always loved Ikea, but they have let us down. Terribly. read more

I have been to a few Ikea stores across the county. It's clean, easy to navigate, I saw a lot of employees which means you'll always get help quickly if need be. The only reason I'm not giving a perfect 5 star rating is that the garden section was very small. In fact 80% of the plants in this department were plastic. That was disappointing because I have gotten a lot of great house plants from other locations but here in Oak Creek, I doubt I'll find the right plant for home/work. Ikea, do yourself a service and expand on the plant section. read more

Zero stars! As I write this I've been on hold with Ikea's customer support line for four (4) hours trying to arrange a return. That's not an exaggeration in any way. At one point I asked one of the four representatives that I've spoken with if they had a manager I could speak with and I was told that they don't have managers or supervisors for their call center. What in the world? I'll never shop with them again. read more

I really liked the new IKEA. Bit the only thing that I didn't like is that we have to build like everything. And that is what bothered me. But everything is cool and nothing is Thad bad. read more

I ordered a kitchen through IKEA and it has been one of the most frustrating experiences I've ever had. Upon delivery, I was missing an item, not a big deal, so I called about the item. Call 1 - Reported item missing. Call 2 - Never heard from them, they finally setup a delivery date for the missing item. Call 3 - IKEA delivered the wrong item, had to call again. Call 4 - After not hearing any updates, called again. They connected me with the store. The store said they would get the missing item from a separate store the next week. Call 5 - Didn't hear from IKEA the next week as promised, so I called again. They put notes on my case file for the store to call me the next day. Call 6 - One week later, the store still hasn't called me. Call again to be informed that they think I'll get the item quicker if I just close out this case, get a refund and re-order the item. I'm currently on hold trying to make this happen, 38 minutes into the phone call, as if I don't have a fucking job or anything. I've been working on resolving this issue for 6 weeks and there is no guarantee that the phone call I'm currently on hold for will resolve this issue, and my kitchen remains unfinished. I can't remember having to call a company twice regarding an issue, much less 6 fucking times. And they have done absolutely nothing to help remedy this issue. read more

What a bad experience my family had at this store, the customers looked so bored, and just standing there. We asked for help to pick up items, but the workers just kept saying look for other workers to help you. Additionally, the drop off delivery brought the items to our house and they did not even put the god damm heavy boxes inside our home, we told them to put it inside, but they did not wanted. what at freaking bad service with y'all. This workers jut standing there, not helping and getting paid. That is so easy for them. read more

This IKEA is a sad excuse for a store of its kind. The biggest flaw is its singular floor, which makes everything feel compact and crowded. There is little room to walk around and view the merchandise. I do like the food at IKEA, but it is almost not worth it due to the massive lines and no room to eat. As sad as it is, the location in Chicago is worth the three hour drive from Milwaukee than visiting this miserable excuse for an IKEA. read more

Dear Ikea, I love your items but your totally understaffed checkout lines drive me CRAZY. The food court line to pay was so long my meatballs were cold by the time I say down to eat. Hello Ikea of Oak Creek! Thank you for an amazing visit last 5/33/18..we just moved to Wisconsin last July and couldn't believe there wasn't an Ikea in the area..when we saw signs being put up that one would soon open..we couldn't wait to visit..the store is beautifully set up..very different from the California Ikea Stores..and can't wait to visit again..oh and if by chance your awesome employees find a 6inch Hello Kitty doll with a pink bow and pink dress...please let me know..my little girl somehow came apart from her little hello kitty toy baby and we would really like to see her reunite with her kitty baby..Thank you to amber who was just awesome in tryin to help us locate hello kitty!!! read more

Just passing through while on vacation. This is the first one level store we have been in. This store just opened in May of this year. With only one cashier, the line in the cafeteria to check out was long and took a while to get through. The cashier was polite but that still didn't help the fact that our food was cold once we got through the line and sat down to eat. The check out line was long as well. Perhaps they are learning the flow of their busy times and will better staff. The store was clean and although the layout was different it flowed nicely. The employees could stand to be a bit more friendly. read more

Out of a good handful of employees we spoke to about buying a bed frame not one told us we needed a support beam that's sold separately. Not one. Now here we are, 1:30 and we gotta lay on the damn floor because every employee dropped the ball on any mention. Thank you IKEA for the stellar service It wouldn't have been an issue of cash either as we bought more than just this frame. Really, the level of training here is below average and would seriously like to see you guys step it up. This was a horrible first experience. Heads up to anyone looking to purchase furniture. Make sure to ask about any add on accessories that mean be needed for assembly. read more

I've been to the Ikea in Oak Creek twice and I'm not impressed. The first turn off is having to walk to the middle of the store to get a cart I feel is absolutely insane. When I go to a store I want a cart. It's nice to have display rooms but they are all clumped together and difficult to get through because of all the people packed into the space. So cramped. No wonder you have to walk to the middle of the store to get a cart, which by the way I never did find on my second trip. The entire lay out is strange, there is one way in and one way out, follow the arrows on the floor. Next time I think of going to Ikea I might just drive to Chicago, even with one being 15 minutes from my home. Not impressed. read more

For a store that is otherwise efficient and organized, the returns process is a mess. After waiting 20 minutes for an inept Ikea employee to "help" the two people ahead of me, I overheard said employee tell the next customer in line that she would need to get out of line, check in using her phone, and wait for her name to be called while he assisted other customers. I quickly used my phone to get in virtual line but there were already three more people ahead of me. When I finally got to the counter I explained to the customer service employee that I didn't realize I was required to check in but I'd clearly been waiting, physically standing in line ahead of these other customers, for 20 minutes. Lacking any semblance of common sense or basic knowledge of how lines work, he responded, "there are three people ahead of you, it wouldn't be fair to make them wait". But it's fair to make me wait when I had obviously been waiting the longest? I wasn't about to wait another 40 minutes while he bumbled his way through three more returns. When I left, the line for returns was at least six people long and nearly out the door. Clearly, this employee should not have been left to handle customer service by himself. read more

Went to pick up an item that showed 2 in stock. Even had an employee check to make sure I wasn't missing them. He says that inventory includes 'display' items not for sale. . . {shrug}. So not getting what I came for. Lots of stuff here . . so I found something else that would work instead. 3 cashiers working, long lines. . line not moving (Cashier on work phone) . . . got fed up and left my cart at the checkout. Tons of employee's throughout the store. Just none where they are needed, manning the 'pay for it' and get out of here department. read more

I've shopped at IKEA for years. Mostly at the Schaumburg store. This store is awful. We drove an hour to get in line at the store opening at 10am. We've never been to this ikea & there were no store maps available. A customer service rep named Samer really, really helped us. Absolute customer service failure. I get the fact we have a changed business environment right now due to covid, however 10 weeks into the crisis a company like IKEA should have their act together. They don't. My issue is a scheduled curb side pick up, if you are given a scheduled time for the pick up, they should respect my time and make that time. In my case I am moving and needed items for the new house and was counting on IKEA fulfilling their service commitment. To further complicate the issue, you try to call them and you get trapped in phone hell. There is no way to reach a live person. I have used curb side pick up before with out a problem, so I get what the drill should be. I have a background in retail logistics and I've designed systems like this in the past. Management basically is not doing their job and is failing to meet the customer's needs. Also, if you have a gift card and want to use it on line, good luck. While the card says it can be used online. The web site payment page does not permit this. We have a brand here that could be shining in this current mess we are in, instead they have opted to be mediocre. read more

I love the IKEA in Schaumburg, IL and was very excited to get one much closer to me. Unfortunately, all 3 times I've been here so far the lines are crazy long (like waiting 15 minutes to check out) and there are only 2-3 registers open! With all the staff they have, they should definitely be able to keep check out lines much much shorter. There was even a kiosk on the way out with a touch screen asking if we were satisfied with the check out wait. Clearly this was an ongoing issue. read more

Everyone in my family loves this store. I will never go back on a weekend they are PACKED AT ALL TIMES!! Hopefully when we go back tomorrow (Tuesday) it won't be crazy. The food here sucks in the food court. It's bland drinks are nasty and ridiculously expensive. Most of the candy is gross chocolate is especially nasty don't buy edible things, I'll stick with the German chocolate and candy that I can get my hands on way better hands down!! The furniture, lighting and other Knick nacks, picture frames, kitchen utensil, pans, sponges and pillows are amazing!!! I'm excited to go back tomorrow. read more
