I have a love/hate relationship with most locations of Menards. The love: They have literally everything. Their stores are packed with anything you may need for any DIY project you're considering, whether it's an indoor plumbing project our an outdoor landscaping adventure--they've got everything you need. The hate part comes in with the same note--they are so large and have so much stock that it's always a bit hard to navigate. So, exemplary service comes in clutch. Unfortunately, in my opinion, that's where many locations of Menards falls short. Not so, at this location! We were on the hunt for something specific, enlisted the aid of a worker who walked us to the aisle and made sure we found what we needed. Hurray! Get to it!

Rather than look to see if they'd received any dimensions, the guy starts rolling on how they don't do these pieces ahead of time because sometimes people don't show up. Gave them my son's name, and the guy repeated himself about not doing it ahead of time, and if they had anything, it would be written down (waves his arm). He didn't even look, so I said my son's name again. He keeps repeating that they don't do it ahead of time. I told him again, he would have called with what he needed, and that he'd send someone to get it. So he asks me what he needs, and I said again, I don't know, he'd called a hardware store on Douglas with what he needed, and I'm not sure if I'm at the right one. He asks oh, he's not answering? Um, no, I don't even know what shape he wants, and he starts arguing over only doing 90 degree angles... well, squares & rectangles are 90 degree angles, and they're different shapes, and I didn't have a size. I was asking if they had the dimensions that my son called in so they could do it, or do I need to go to the other store. If he didn't remember the name, and there's no paper, the appropriate answer would have been, "No, sorry, we can't help you". Yes, I caught it the 1st time when he said that, and he's arguing about how I'm repeating myself. I was asking if they had the dimensions my son called in, it's a yes or no answer... And if that was a yes, now they can cut it now that I'm here, but no, the dude wants to go on repeat about not doing it ahead of time. So when I finally said I'm not arguing with him, he called ME ridiculous, when he clearly wasn't understanding my question, as a native speaker of Midwestern English. A pre-ORDER is not the same as pre-MADE. Just like you can't get a key cut without coming in with a key, fine, they won't cut fiberglass until the customer comes in to actually buy it... but did they get the request or didn't they? The answer would have been a yes or a no. Not an argument of what they do or don't make at the store ahead of time or not. Their customer service really stinks back there. The cashier was nice, though.

I waited ten minutes for him to pull up his part order log which is a spiral notebook. He couldn't find my order anywhere - even though I have called four times and have been there once. I left my phone number for him to "research" the issue. He NEVER called me back and this is the second time this happened. Seriously if you don't have your faculties together then it's time to hang up the saddle and retire. Your real estate is worth tons of money - sell the place vs. keeping hours of 8:30 to 5pm with no weekend hours. I ended up ordering the part on-line for cheaper and no hassle of being worried as well because the owner wasn't wearing a mask.

This place is a Bay View historical site and it will be a very sad day if it ever goes away. I want to thank the man behind the counter. You carry yourself as a man who know what he is doing, and you left a lasting impression even just for a man fixing his dryer. You are providing a service that is in very short supply and your prices are comparable to those found online. I bought a speed queen washer from Richmond appliance. The whole transaction was done over the…read morephone. I didn't even have to go to the store. They delivered the washer I wanted and set it up and they were more reasonable than Colders. The Speed Queen washer is wonderful and is designed to last 25 years. The people that delivered and installed it did a great job. Like I said, their price was more reasonable than another major supplier of speed queen washers. I've had LG and GE Washers. They were junk. Our previous washer was a GE front loader. It was seven years old and it needed a new drum which was no longer available. Had it been available? It would've been a $1200 repair. The speed screen comes with a great warranty and as I said it is designed to last 25 years. So go to Ritzman appliance in Hales Corners and buy a speed queen. Or better yet, call them and order it over the phone and they will deliver it without you ever visiting the store.

They also pointed out that Home Depot was running a special sale with a better price. I really appreciate that kind of open and honest customer service. Instead of trying to sell me the most expensive option, they helped me find the product that best fit my needs. That kind of integrity makes me an even more loyal customer.

There was no upsell, and she was able to show the clusters of price ranges in their very large showroom so we could avoid the oh my gosh level of pricing. Currently, the best deal by far for all brass is Astor Marris but prices are fluctuating dramatically differently by brand. Their lowest price kitchen and bathroom pulls are not cheaply made products, they start at good, lots of intermediate better, and a startling selection for those for whom money is no object. We also got some work gloves and a smoke detector for good prices (better than Amazon).

Joe Medinger was informative regarding different brands and models. He put gas and oil in the machine I bought, gave me a brief lesson on how to operate and even loaded it into the bed of my truck. And 30 minutes after walking into Medingers, I was clearing off my driveway. I did not receive any of the poor service the other Yelpers did. In fact, the previous reviews almost kept me away.
