This location of Menards is huge. It's two story with a cart escalator. I didn't even know such a thing existed. But, at good ol' Menards? It sure does. I have a love/hate relationship with most locations of Menards. The love: They have literally everything. Their stores are packed with anything you may need for any DIY project you're considering, whether it's an indoor plumbing project our an outdoor landscaping adventure--they've got everything you need. The hate part comes in with the same note--they are so large and have so much stock that it's always a bit hard to navigate. So, exemplary service comes in clutch. Unfortunately, in my opinion, that's where many locations of Menards falls short. Not so, at this location! We were on the hunt for something specific, enlisted the aid of a worker who walked us to the aisle and made sure we found what we needed. Hurray! Get to it! read more

I had an out of policy return for which the store manager made exceptions & accepted. Furthermore, I had a complex purchase that required an extra policy waiver that she processed seemlessly. This was exceptional above and beyond customer service where most retail operations would have not extended themselves. This is invaluable in retail. read more

This Menards is by far the most organized Menards I have been to. I found everything that I was looking for right away!

I stopped in tonight to pick up some mulch. The red ruby premium mulch. Had a bunch of run around in the back barn area was told to pick the wrong mulch then return it then go get some other mulch it was too much of a hassle. And I went when they were very few people in the store. I wonder what it would be like if it were busy. read more

This store and parking lot is huge! Many of the things that Home depot and Lowe has but this store is has a nice display for patio furniture. I've noticed that the staff are helpful with information asking if we had any questions on finding and locating items. The variety for appliances tools clothing and food make this store a competitor to the home improvement category. some towns have either Lowe's or a Home Depot. Brookfield is lucky to have all three. read more

Now that we own a house, my husband and I practically live here! There are very few things that one cannot find at this store.....I mean they even sell clothing and purses! I particularly enjoy the nursery area and the holiday decorations, but I have also found some very nice storm doors and faucets here as well. Menards doesn't carry all the brands that the other big box stores do and those stores don't carry all the brands that Menards does, so it really pays to shop around. The store is huge and easy to get around.....plenty of space in the aisles. Returns are so simple and there is a kiosk near the return counter to look up old receipts. The only negative about this store is that they allow Dish to recruit new subscribers by approaching unsuspecting customers. You can usually avoid this by walking along the back of the food aisles until you reach the next main aisle. I don't know if I'm "saving big money" at Menards, what with the new house, but I am having fun fixing it up and Menards has definitely been a big help in doing that! 14/2014 read more

My favorite Menards in the Metro area, including the fancy two story Menards in Waukesha. There's a couple stores in the metro area that suck and I avoid them if possible. It's close to home. I like the store layout. (I'm very familiar with it) Easy to get around, spacious aisles, also clean. I'm not exactly Mr handyman, but I try and I carefully choose my battles! That being said they have at least a few people working here that I can rely on for good info. Jerry and Jeff. These guys are maybe semi retired and they've seen a few things if they don't know the answer, they'll say so, and do their best to steer you in the right direction. There's other helpful people working here and a few that are less than helpful. The less than helpful will do their best to avoid you, so it's really a blessing. So, if you're familiar with Menards, you know it's a somewhat nitche market. They sell just about everything, with different "quality and price options" but in some ways they remind me of Aldi's or Harbor freight with their little gimmicks. With Menards it's the rebate game. To be honest most of it is not worth it in my opinion, except for the 11% rebate. They have a very liberal return policy which is useful when doing projects. Getting extra material helps avoid multiple visits. However, as with any discount store, caveat emptor! read more

You can actually get everything to build a house here and almost furnish it completely. It is my #1 go to for any home improvement need I have. From lumber, electrical, plumbing, carpet, lighting, heating, cooling they got it all Excellent garden department in the summer months filled with plants and everything else you need. Holidays springs to life inside for Christmas with a whole area dedicated with trees and decorations. My favorite is the 11% savings deals. They run deals where you keep your receipts and mail them in and they send you a check back with the 11% difference even on top of sales. read more

If you are going to shop Menards, your best bet is probably this location. It's one of their newer stores and thus cleaner, bigger and marginally more organized than other ones in the area. Plus, they have a people conveyor belt up to the second floor that's fairly entertaining. We stopped in to get some wood trim stuff for a project and were able to find most of what we needed relatively quickly. The breadth and depth of product is much better than their Hwy 100 store - maybe 5x more options in the category we were shopping for. Still, you won't get much help from their staffers. Like other locations, they're impossible to find and the ones you do encounter don't seem to know much. I guess I'm just a Home Depot person. read more

Savings here is a little shady, This rating is based solely on the experience of Menards brand of "savings". I really like this store because I'm confident I can find what I'm looking for a good price. But, their current in-store credit savings program leaves a sour taste. Some sales will lead you to believe you are saving money at the time (especially the current 11% savings program), but you are not because they own your money, regardless, in the form of in-store credit coupons. This isn't money you get to save for something else, somewhere else. This past summer we sent in our receipts for the 11% savings program. This was THE first and only time we've done this AND WE HAVE YET TO SEE THIS "MONEY". We've contacted Menards only to be told there is a backlog. We are at the end of November, approaching the latter end of 6 months. I still go to Menards, but I assess my purchases with a greater importance, when it comes to where I can save money.y Side note: this store has a good population of employees who cannot help you and some who hate being there doing their job of "helping people ". read more

I went in for a fan to help dry my basement from a little flood. I was looking at these $100 fan that are made to do so. I asked a employee that was nearby for the price. There were 2 employees and one spoke and the other looked it up. I told the guy what I needed it for and he said hold on and follow me. We went to the next isle and he showed me 2 slightly bigger fans that were half the price. I was able to buy 2 to dry more area. I really appreciate that he went out of his way to help me and direct me to a better choice. I will always go back here!! read more

They've got items for the home, items for cooking, items for floors, items for plumbing, Items for the garden it's just amazing. They must sell everything at this location. I can't believe that any Menard's is on my go-to list of home improvement stores. I've never been a huge fan of Menard's but this store is worth the trip. It's HUGE and they have a moving walkway instead of a proper escalator. Totally unnecessary, but cool none the less. As any Menards, you have your lumber yard, your garden center, and your guy-centric grocery department. You gotta love any store where you can buy a Japanese techno-flush toilet, 18' long treated lumber, and a one gallon can of baked beans all in one trip. I've found the employees here to be generally more helpful than at other stores. The selection here is probably the best and then of course there's that moving walkway. Why only three stars? Like all Menard's it's pretty cluttered. There is less stuff in the aisles due to the ginormous size of the store, but there is still a lot of "randomly placed" crap. The parking lot at this one is not proportional to the size of the store. That is especially apparent during their annual Black Friday sales. It's completely nuts to butts on that day. I suggest you hit the Brown Deer store up instead. That place is usually pretty dead any day of the year. read more

I had another price issue. This time is was for an adjustment. I bought dinnerware for regular price and a week later it went on sale. Most stores would give you the sale price. Not Menards, I had to return the items and repurchase them... They said it was store policy. It is very inconvenient to shop at Menards. Most times to get a sale price you have to go through a mail in rebate process. Ugh. read more

I hadn't visited this Menard's location yet, but I found myself not finding the specific baby proofing item I needed at some other stores in the area, so I took a shot in the dark and tried this Menard's. I'm glad I did. Not only did they have the baby proofing item I needed, they were way beyond helpful. I walked around the store for a short while until I found a couple employees. I asked were if they had baby proofing items, and they practically jumped over each other for the chance to help me. Not only did they tell me they did have the items, they told me the exact number of the aisle they were in and what products were directly across from the baby proofing stuff. I expect this type of service from the small local hardware stores, but definitely not from the big box hardware stores. Other hardware stores in Franklin, this is how it's done (see my past reviews). This is on "Speedway" Drive, but they have a Kwik Trip? Blasphemy! I have had great customer service here, after being a loyal Lowe's customer for over five years. A year or two ago we were burned, once again, by Lowes... and made the switch here. For many years, I only shopped at Home Depot ~~ hardware, paint, plants, lawn furniture, window blinds, etc., and it's right around the corner. Then I made the mistake of ordering flooring, and the resulting chaos and terrible treatment made me swear off Home Depot forever! Fast forward to an expensive bathroom remodel, and my contractor suggested I check out Menards for cabinets and countertops. VERY nice quality and good selection, plus the awesome experts in the bath department ~~ Zack and Mike ~~ who have been so patient with explanations and help. They even helped me time my orders so that I could take advantage of the 11% rebates. So it's not a cash rebate ~~ I got over that pretty quickly, esp. since I plan on buying LOTS more at Menards. In fact, I'm about to open a charge card with them for even more savings. Someone mentioned the flat escalator up and down as if it's a waste, but it sure comes in handy when one is pushing a cart full of stuff. As for the parking lot ~~ yeah, it's a bit screwy, but pretty minor overall. And, so far, I've had no problems with any of the staff. Just lucky or ?? read more

Menards headquarters is in Wisconsin, and I think all their stores are in Wisconsin. I am so happy that Menards is close at hand. If you can't find it at Menards... They probably don't make it/sell it. Their prices are good and, the workers are very friendly and always willing to help you out (or find someone else who can). Their stores are always clean and organized. The lighting is good, their selections are good and their signage is good. There's never a question on what the prices are. This is my first time in a Menards. I was in Waukesha for business and thought I would look around. Wow, Home Depot+Walmart+, except with better quality products to choose from. I didn't ask for any help so I don't know what the service is like except for check out. I like the check out, self bagging and receipt prints out near you so you can take it yourself. Semi-self service at its best. I found a hugh selection of good quality tools. Tools I haven't seen at Home Depot, Lowes, Osh, Ace, Harbor Freight tools. There were some good sales and I bought some very useful unusual quality tools at a very good price. I was surprised at the size of the store, the moving inclined walkways, piano player, selection of stuff here. This is very close to one stop shopping for hardware and even a smaller selection of food, DVD's, clothes, and other stuff. I was impressed. read more

My boyfriend went to the Menards in Franklin. His purchase consisted of several building materials and bags of 60 pound concrete mix. He loaded his cart with all the supplies with no assistance from the multiple younger employees that were in the area watching him. He pushed the 900 pounds of material from the rear of the store, (putting all the heavy building materials in the back of the store makes perfect sense) he passed several employees on his way to the front check out. Not one employee offered assistance, not a single one. After purchasing all the materials do you think anyone helped? Do you think the person at the front counter asked if he needed help loading his vehicle like they do at HOME DEPOT? Nope not a single store employee offered any help. But they did care when he backed his truck up right into the exit only blocking the enterance so he could load his truck by himself. This is why we will never again go to Menards. Their customer service is a disgrace, and their lack of assistance is pathetic. What kind of business would allow a senior citizen to load and unload over 900 pounds of building material? They should be ashamed of themselves. And seeing as how we spend thousands of dollars a year in building supplies, you Menards in Franklin really dropped the ball. Do yourselves a favor when it comes to needing building supplies go to Home Depot and not this shit show of a store. read more

I was in the market for a garden shed. Had one of their employees help me in store (the first day they required masks, and limited access to kids under 16 not allowed, so my 11 year old had to sit in the car) with their "EZ SHED" builder kiosk. Designed it (12X14, nothing huge), picked out all the options, delivery dates, ect. Now, when picking out options it didn't give me a "door" option. It showed barn style doors, which, if given and option, I would have wanted a garage style door, but whatever, doors are doors. Little did I know that I would be getting a garage door, because after my contractor started he quickly realized that THERE WAS NO DOORS included with the "EZ SHED" kit. I called at first and was told I had to come in. So I did, spoke to the GM, and he said "we have never had this problem before" and gave me a form to fill out and send to corporate. All I wanted was the cost of the door covered, because I didn't use "EZ COFFIN" builder, I used "EZ SHED" builder, and to me, if you have 4 walls, a ceiling and a floor, but no door, it's a coffin, not a shed, lol. Well, corporate told me "sorry, but not sorry" and basically stated that I could go away. BUT IT GETS BETTER!!!!!! We are also having our deck re-done with composite decking. Guess who the contractor is using for materials??? MENARDS!! Joy of joys! So, they get the old decking off, start putting on the new decking, and it's all bad. Looks like it got hit with a forktruck at the warehouse or during delivery. This time they are actually fixing it, but having a torn apart deck for 3 weeks while they get new material delivered is just the icing on the Menards cake. I mean I like Menards, they have great selection and good pricing, but after this, I am doubtful to do business with them again, and I am recommending that unless you can inspect it and take it with you, that you don't use them either. BUT, if you need a coffin, they have kiosks in the back that can help you build one! read more

The first time I shopped at this Menards, the employees were super helpful. My second experience was very upsetting and I never want to shop here again. I will drive out of my way and shop at Lowe's. There was an employee at the customer service counter that was very rude. I wanted to return a $10 item (with receipt) and also pay for $25 of purchases. She treated me like a criminal and would not finish the transaction, saying that no ones knows if I actually came into the store with the $10 item. She accused me of stealing (She did this in front of people and my 4 years old daughter) . I could not wait around since I had to leave in time to pick up my other daughter from a bus stop. So Menards, if you care about how customers are treated . . . . 1. Have signs posted in the entrance and exit so people know what they need to do when they come in with items to be returned. 2. Train employees how to treat customers and not accuse them of stealing. read more

Worst service I have ever experienced. It took asking 4 different guys to find a simple item. None of them were willing to walk us to it either. The one lady we asked for help in the store not only took us to the item but helped us pick out the right one. So as I was recovering from my migraine, I heard this clattering from the kitchen. It sounded like a cat or dog playing with a plastic box. Oh wait... I don't have a cat or dog. As soon as I turned on the light, there he (I hope it is a he...) was, a mouse playing (probably trying to get in) with the plastic box with poison that I had set out before I left for my trip. I noticed that he was having trouble getting inside the box that I bought at Target so I decided I needed to go somewhere with more serious mouse killing options. I apologize for this post, but if you've ever had mice, you will know how disgusting it is to have their feces and stuff all over the place and quite frankly, I'm not interested in getting sick. Sorry, it's me or the mouse and I choose me. I will say, the one thing I don't like about this Menards is the parking lot. I am not sure there is any rhyme or reason to it and as a result, people drive the same way. However, inside it is a haven for any DIY junkie. You could even get a snack for your DIY marathon! There was a staff member stood in the middle of store welcoming people and trying to direct people. Genius idea because this place is gi-normous. He pointed me in the direction of rodent control and away I went. There were a lot of products... however I have two that have served me well. I was a Residence Hall Director next to a building that was demolished and the mice... of course, went into my building. We had to become experts at extermination. My choices: 1) old-fashioned wood snap trap and 2) the DCon mouse poison. The traps were 3 packages for $0.99, with two in each package. They also had the mouse attractant gel... which actually works and you don't have to worry about rotting cheese or peanut butter attracting ants. In addition to this, I found rubber gloves and paper plates. All set! While I was looking I also noticed that they had some furniture at reasonable prices. I will have to check if they deliver... I still need a sofa. Check out was easy... although the set up is a bit awkward if you ask me. It is right across from Home Depot, but I would rather go to Menards because I know I will find exactly what I will need. read more
