I ended up finding a couple of specialty files that should be a nice addition to their collection. When I checked out, the cashier reminded me that there was a $10 coupon available. I saved enough to get a Starbucks.

(I used to watch Norm Abrahm build things on New Yankee Workshop and he made it look so easy, of course, he also had a shop full of stuff that most woodworkers don't have unless their name is Warren Buffet. I'd still like to try building the little sailboat he built one year, but I digress.) If I were to try to build a Norm Abrahm project, this is where I'd be for tools. The employees are very knowledgeable and friendly about it. (As opposed to the other place where I felt like I was being talked down to.) I was looking for a specialty product, that they didn't have, but they did have a suggestion for a viable alternative that I'll consider. As long as I was there, I wandered the aisles and I was impressed with the wide selection of tools and accessories. I drooled over tools I wish I had a use for and saw things I didn't even know were made. Brand name power tools as well as more economically priced equipment for the casual user. On the top end, they have a CNC router table (if you have to ask, you'll never use it, anyway) for an amazingly low price of $6,000.00 although the router is not included. I have no use for it but I do marvel at the technology. Really, if I were a serious woodworker, this would be my go-to place for tools, exotic woods, accessories, and advice. It's inconveniently located in a strip shopping center on the southwest corner of Greenfield Avenue and Sunny Slope, on the New Berlin side of Greenfield, but worth the effort to get there.

We do not know much about plants so my husband ask the girl at the checkout where we could find them. After pointing us in the right direction, we returned with one of each. As we were paying, the girl at the checkout, Ellie, was very excited about the spider plant we chose. We told her it was a gift. Sadly we don't have green thumbs. She was so sweet and told us how spider plants are great natural humidifiers. She also showed us how to check when they need water. All things we didn't know and made us want to buy a few spider plants for ourselves. She was so happy and helpful. I don't usually leave reviews. In fact it often feels like people are more likely to leave a review when unhappy rather than when someone or something stands out in a positive way that I felt Ellie deserved a shout out.

First, I went to Village Ace in Glendale and luckily they were familiar with the handle. They gave me some parts, but after a couple return visits, they knew I was probably in over my head. Brandon suggested I take it all to Mike D at the Meinecke store. Thank you Brandon! Mike D is awesome! He knew the history of that particular faucet. He took it all apart, showing and naming all the pieces. He found what I missing, greased it all up, and put it all back together. He also gave me instructions for putting it back in the wall. They did make us wash our hands in the beginning, but they did a cleanup break halfway through and told us to go explore the shopping area. We were not asked to wash your hands when we returned and were made to cut up potatoes with our bare hands. This would've been fine because I was working with a group that I knew, but then they made us all combine our food and do a buffet style. I wasn't able to eat any of the food we've prepared and we had to sit there and watch this man use a dirty dish rag to open ovens and wipe down the surface and then also use the same rag to hold down on top of the steak to cut. He also didn't really explain what he was doing very well and didn't really teach anything. We were lost the whole time because he would half explain to just one table and not even come by to show us. I wouldn't have eaten the food because of how unsanitary it was to see being made by a bunch of strangers with unwashed hands and then mixed together but we were sitting there for two hours and so hungry the entire time. They also made us these coconut, pineapple drinks that I didn't even touch because the person that handed us our cups placed her finger inside of the cups when she was carrying it, dropped it at our table and didn't even say what it was. It wasn't a cooking class. It was mostly just standing around and watching.
