Called to rent a log splitter. Tyler said half a day is $75 (4 hours). I only needed it for less than 2 hours so I asked if the rental cost would go down. Tyler talked with the manager, Andy, and he said $75 is the minimum but when you bring it back, we can take some off the $75. I rented it for one hour and 10 minutes, from pick up to drop off. I asked for a discount and Andy said our minimum rental price for a log splitter is $75. Wow. It is not so much the money as it is the character reflection. Lack of integrity. read more

What a joke, I go in to buy some nuts and bolts, I get to the registers and there's a manger and a teenage girl behind the registers. The manager is having a conversation with a man about a pool of some kind -- he say to her that she owes him $14 for the pool and she replyies that she doesn't because she won the pool. This goes on for a long time. Meanwhile, the teenage girl is chatting with a friend after her purchase - long conversation, even after the "customer" leaves the register and heads out the door -- stopping halfway so they can chat some more. Forget about helping me, your personal conversations are obviously more important. I think they perceive themselves to be a cute little local hardware store and are supposed to act like it, carrying on lengthy personal conversations at the expense of people who just want to take advantage of being able to get in and out of a store quickly. Home Depot would have been quicker. read more

They have what I need when I need it. I just called on a Sunday morning- they are open and have bat houses. Amazing.

If I ever need help with something, this is where I go. Great customer service! If someone doesn't know something, they'll find someone who does, and there is always someone who does! I went there to figure out how to do some work in my basement. I wanted to sand down my steps and stain them. They helped me get a rental on a really nice belt sander and told me what sand paper I should use to make it easiest. That worked out great. Then the stain the set me up with matched perfectly to the trim I have, so that made it easy. Then I wanted to figure out how to do some electrical work and they got me this diagram on how to wire a light on a 3-way switch. They were so helpful! Definitely have the know-how! read more

One thing that stays consistent here is the terrible customer service. It seems that doing their job is too much work and effort. Even the owner has an attitude. If this wasn't the only hardware store in the area I would never come here again but sometimes there isn't time to drive the extra 15 mins to get to another one. read more

We moved to the area several months ago. We love the Village atmosphere and the presence of so many locally owned stores and the nice people who work in them. Beibels is not far from our home and convenient, so we've made many purchases at Biebel's True Value Hardware, everything from a single screw to power equipment. One purchase, a lawnmower, starting having issues. I was out of town and my wife was unable to load it in the car and get it in for repair. Although Biebels sold it to us, they were not an authorized repair service for this brand, but when we called and explained the situation, they came, picked the up the mower, checked it out, repaired it in their store and returned it promptly. We were able to get the grass cut and leaves mulched before the coming snow. Our thanks to Don, our salesman, for advocating on our behalf, and to Bill who picked the mower up, repaired, and returned it to us. Both acted with professionalism, friendliness and courtesy. Thanks to the owners who went the extra mile and gave the OK to make it all happen, when they did not have to do so. We are now customers for life, and walking advertisements for Beibels, OUR HOMETOWN HARDWARE STORE. read more
