Menard's has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I tried to return a power washer I had purchased one week earlier. Despite giving them my credit card and the approximate date of purchase, they refused to look up the transaction. I had to go to a self-serve kiosk to retrieve the receipt. They could not repair the washer, informing me that the closest service center was in Sun Prairie, a one hour drive from Pewaukee. The refused to consider a return or exchange because I put gas in it. Of course I put gas in it. I tried to use it. Menard's you have lost by business forever. I will go to Elliot's Ace hardware on Capitol. Even if it costs a little more, their dedicated customer service makes it well worth the price. read more

Menards in general, but especially Pewaukee, is an absolute last-resort for hardware stores. Menards as a whole makes their money with tempting sales, and makes the rebate process insanely difficult, hoping people will give up. Guess what? Home Depot matches the 11% sale with a very simple online form. No envelopes and stamps! Wanna return something? Menards is the only major retailer left in North America that can't look up a receipt at the customer service desk. They want you to give up and just keep the item. This store specifically seems to hire the most unhelpful people they can find, and then train them to be less helpful. The customer is always wrong here. One time I was interrogated by a woman with hedgehog-looking hair for returning an item I bought in Germantown to the Pewaukee store. Another time I was trapped in the checkout listening to a young lady tell me about her cats and how painfully single she is. And let's not forget how they *sold* you the masks they *required* you to wear in the store, with the looming threat of police involvement if you didn't comply (look up the videos of people being escorted out by law enforcement). What a way to make a profit off of a global pandemic! Now it's the holiday season and the in-store soundtrack has clearly been curated with the intent to drive you out of the store, or out of your mind if you have to spend that much time in the store. I'm not even just referring to the nails-on-a-chalkboard Menards Christmas jingle, it's all of the music. Please do us all a favor and let us shop in peace and quiet. read more

They enforce mask wearing which is very prudent! I'm sure to stop by here again because a lot of locations in Waukesha are ignoring the pandemic. apparently many do not think it's real. I lost 5 of my friends to COVID. I don't play with this stuff. Y'all can think it's imaginary if you want. The selection here is great! I even got some spices that my daughter wanted. read more

This is the worst Menards in Milwaukee. First of all I walk in without a mask, because I simply don't have a mask. What they were doing at Costco and Pick n Save was providing them. (Like your supposed to) Instead I get a response that says u can't come in! And then as I walk away they say "But you can only buy one for 1 dollar". Wow what a way to make money during a pandemic. I advise you to not go to especially this Menards, they make money in the wrong way! read more

I bought a Yardworks Lawn Sweeper at Menards in Pewaukee yesterday and spent hours to assemble it. When it almost done, I found two pieces of the parts are wrong size and can not be fixed in. I went to the Store and talked to a person in Hardware Dept. I ask him if it's a defect part? He said NO, it 's very common and normal! He told me that I should fix it myself--drill two bigger holes on very hard and thick metal bar! ( I did later and broken two drill bits. Finally got help from my professional neighbor.). I talked to the store manager and he gave me two option: 1. disassemble it .and put them back to the box and return it ( it will take another some hours!) 2. $5 discount. I ask him to contact the manufacture company about the problem. His answer was NO because it's sold out. During the whole time, no one at Menards feel sorry about the problem of the product they sold to customer! Very disappoint this time on my hometown Menards which I've shopped at so many years! Today I called Yardworks about the defect of their product--Lawn Sweeper. The customer service told me that they know the problem and already noticed Menards and other stores. If what he said was true, it means Menards intentionally hided problem of the item and didn't tell customers before they purchase and assemble it. It's terrible if it's true! I hope Menards can review this case carefully and give customers a satisfy answer. read more

I had a great experience today with Ken in the window treatment department at the Pewaukee Menards. He was so knowledgeable and helpful and helped me order wood blinds in a short amount of time! What a great experience because of Ken!!! read more

Update: Just kill me. Why did I think this trip would be any different? Hardware dept. CATASTROPHICALLY disorganized. It took 10 minutes to find 6...SIX.. matching carriage bolts and nuts. Absolutely TERRIBLE service. The people here were rude, and not helpful at all! After my husband asked how thick a piece of wood was, the lady actually said "Ugh, I don't know...I was supposed to leave at 5" (It was 5:15). Then we went to the lumber yard and couldnt find the wood, so when we asked for help it seemed like the biggest inconvenience in the world for them. Then when someone finally did come out, he told us that they never should've sent us to the lumber yard bc it was in the building! Lastly, when we were leaving the lumber yard we had to honk at the guy to get his attention to open the gate because he was playing on his phone! Will be going to one of the other Menards in the area to avoid this one! read more

Menard's is a solid home improvement spot. Great lumber yard and an electrical department like no other. As with any big box you have to know what your looking for but Menards seems to have a knowledgeable staff that knows the deal. That helps a ton. Overall I like Menard's and use their services whenever needed. read more

Amazing customer service at this location. Bought an electric snow blower and one of the batteries died a month later. Called and spoke with a customer service rep and they were out of stock of the snow blower I bought. The rep offered to replace just the battery even though the actual UPC I bought was out of stock. They set it aside and when I got there Tony the front desk guy had my battery waiting and exchanged it within 30 seconds. Didn't even need my receipt. Tony was extremely polite as well. I'm not sure why this place has received so many negative reviews. They have a decent selection of everything you could possibly want and the crew at the construction desk has always been helpful whenever we need to submit a special order. The 11% rebate is also a nice perk if you can remember to save your receipts and submit your paperwork on time. It's helped us save a decent amount of money when I needed to buy decking material and screws. read more

I went to Customer Service because two items I had purchased at another Menards were missing parts. The first person I talked with was helpful but asked her supervisor (Heidi) for assistance. Heidi, who was eating waffle fries, seemed to resent the request but did contact someone in the appropriate department and directed me to meet her (Kaitlyn) there. I found Kaitlyn (who stated "I am so over Christmas") to be quite rude and could not have been less helpful. She said the part I needed was sold separately (totally untrue according to list of contents on the package as well as the product description online). She showed me what I needed to purchase - which would have been totally inappropriate. The other item needed an adapter which should have been included. Kaitlyn initially refused to allow me to take the adapter from the display model unless I took the entire assembly (part of which was defective). After a somewhat heated exchage, I was given the part I needed. I returned to Customer Service to complete the transaction. The person I had initially talked with could not have been more helpful, pleasant and concerned that I was satisfied with the resolution of the problem. Heidi, meanwhile, faded into the background and exuded an air of "I can't be bothered." This is the first time I've had anything but a positive experience at this store, but this most recent experience has left a bitter taste in my mouth. read more

Puzzled by some of the negative reviews. We shop here all the time, and so do our neighbors, even though a bigger store is about the same distance away. The employees are very friendly, and I am always asked if I need help when I visit. Never had a problem with a return or a special order. And referrals for plumbers, and other tradesmen have worked out great. read more

The staff was rude when you could find them. (They like to hide out in the back by window coverings). Maybe I'm not used to the way Menards is set up, but it's really confusing. It doesn't seem to flow. I'd drop the grocery part and just focus on home improvement items. But hands down the worst lumber. The 2x4 piles looked like a bowl of spaghetti. The lumber is definitely not on par with competitors. But, they do stock more sizes. I tried buying lumber for 20 minutes yesterday and was not able to. I guess you have to go back there and hunt down someone in the lumber yard, get a pick ticket, go back up front and pay for it, then go back and get lumber. So, I went back there screamed hello and walked up and down knocking on doors. Went to security and asked how this whole thing works, who then advised me to walk all the way back to the corner and look for someone, which I did and was unsuccessful. I saw a man get off the forklift, and when I said hello, he stopped, looked back at me and continued to walk off. So, I took my $ elsewhere. I want to use these guys, but they are making it hard. 2nd update. Guy screamed at my wife to get out of the way and almost hit me with forklift. Horrible experience all around. Staff seamed very unhappy and just outright mean. With the exception of the customer service girl. I will not be back. Home Depot is all around better read more

I bought a garage for about 10k and had a number of issues. Whoever had picked the order didn't pull the accurate quantities so I went back to the store and the GM called me a liar in so many words about not receiving all the items. Then said she couldn't do anything about the missing 2x4's because she has such a tight budget. She showed me some worthless picture of the load she thought proved that the lumber was delivered but it wasn't. She has very poor customer service skills and could care less about a satisfied customer. Then to find out a number of items were not even delivered and still sitting in the yard. The delivery company that represents Menards shows up at 5:30 pm on the day it was suppose to be a am delivery so the carpenters had no material to work with and went home after they got sick of sitting around waiting for the delivery. Again the GM didn't want to take any responsibility and said you got the delivery. As a whole this has been a very bad experience and the GM made it worse! read more

I am a totally dissasified customer when in the store to make my purchase I was told that 11% comes of the amnt of my purchase now I am informed it is just a store credit...I was lied to,,and the female person told me that I would be eligible for a military vetran discount of up to 2.40 cents a bundle on this purchase of 46 bundles of shingles,,,store manager tells me there is no military discount,,,,again lied to......menards lost a customer!!!!! read more
