So, I sent an email to them and boy am I glad I did! Adam promptly responded and connected me with the store manager, Matt. And not only was it a snap, but the grill was assembled and delivered (right on time by Jerry and placed exactly where I wanted it so it would be a surprise) on the day before Christmas without extra charge. Why would you go anywhere else?!? Can't get that kind of service, or help from a big box store. I would give 10 stars if possible, thank you all for your help!

Don't waste your time or money here. Poor customer service and poor quality, overpriced paint…read more I am repainting a new house, so I have been here several times with questions about paint and to sample and purchase some paint. During every visit, I have had to try and get help from an associate as they seem to either all be sitting in the back break area, or they don't volunteer to help. Each visit has left me with different answers from different associates. Foolishly, I ultimately purchased two gallons of their top of the line Emerald paint and was very disappointed not only with the poor and uneven coverage (after two coats on a clean, lightly textured, new drywall surface), but also with the color. I was told by an associate that I could not return the paint, but that they would replace it with a different color; when I went in with my unopened and unused gallon of paint to exchange for another color, the associates in the store said they don't do any such thing. Save yourself the trouble and try Ace Hardware instead. Their customer service is far superior, they have knowledgeable and helpful staff, and they have much better quality paints at a better price.

We never cover our pieces during Chicagoland winters and merely hose them down in the spring. We were treated with pleasant professionalism and our order was promptly corrected. By The Yard is a wise investment which we highly recommend.

We've been using it the entire summer and all have held up wonderfully and they are very comfortable. We wanted the swivel/rocking chairs with footrests and so glad we did splurge for those. Also - the table/chairs are so easy to clean. I thought the showroom in Vernon Hills was great - everyone was very nice and let us walk around and try out the furniture. So - the kicker and why it's 4 and not 5 stars. The delivery and assembly. We live in a high rise downtown and they will only deliver to your bottom lobby level. It will come assembled but what you don't think about immediately is that a door width is only 36". If it had come assembled, it wouldn't be able to fit inside our condo to go to the balcony. This is no issue if you're delivering to a house b/c you just go straight to the backyard. But a condo - very different. So - we had it come in boxes and we opted to assemble after the showroom told us it was very easy. First off - the furniture is extremely heavy - hence the excellent quality! And it was not easy to assemble for my husband/myself. Talking with customer service, they told us to just shove pieces together and it will work. After spending $1800 for the furniture - I wasn't willing to do that. So I called the store and they came out and put it together on our balcony. We are forever grateful for that and while it's easy for some to put together - this wasn't an easy endeavor. Just something to think about if you live in a condo. With all that being said - I would order from By the Yard again b/c I think the company/staff and furniture are of great quality.

During the process of moving into a new home, my finance and I knew we wanted all new paint colors, window treatments, and rugs...that was the easy part.....the hard part was... we just were not sure what we wanted exactly. That is where Susan stepped in; from the start she was current, relevant, focused, on point, and professional. She was able to guide us through all the overwhelming options of paint colors, blind types, and rugs. She made a process that would have eaten up an entire weekend, been stressful, and exhausting, into a very fun experience for us. She even pushed us out of our comfort zone and helped pick out items that look great, that we would of never chose if we were at the storing shopping for them!! We cannot imagine ever going through this process again without using Susan. We plan to use her in the future to help "hunt" for high quality, classic furniture items to fill our new home with.
