I arrived about 30 minutes later, assuming it would either be waiting at the front counter or that I could simply pick it up myself. From the moment I walked in, the cashier acted like answering my question was an inconvenience. He sent another associate to help me, and she provided some of the worst customer service I've experienced. She made me feel like I was inconveniencing her by asking for the part and told me I should have waited for a confirmation email before coming in. I understand that businesses have procedures, but there were more employees than customers in the store--only about four customers total--so there was no reason for such poor customer service. A simple explanation delivered with a positive attitude would have made all the difference. I chose to pay more for the part specifically because I wanted to support a local business instead of ordering it online. Instead, I left feeling like I was treated as a nuisance rather than a customer. After reading many of the other reviews, I can understand why people have had similar experiences. Unfortunately, I won't be returning, and I can't recommend this business based on the way I was treated

Great deal on soil from compost, good deal on bulbs for Fall planting, and I got help to replace a toilet seat. Turns out there are only two common shapes for toilet seats, and replacing a broken one isn't hard at all. I did it without even a You-Tube video, but I did get a helpful Ace Hardware worker. Plenty of parking.

DO NOT RECOMMEND this hardware store…read more Refused to provide my return of an item (which was $7) because I mistakenly walked into the store with my previously purchased item and walked pasted their waist level sign saying "no returns beyond this point". This was my 2nd time in the store and it will be my final. I have never had someone accuse me of stealing, especially with no reason to do so. It was an honest mistake. End all be all, Greg (the floor manager) clearly hates women, not to mention I'm 8 months pregnant - he confiscated my item (because he couldn't confirm that I didn't take it off the shelf - even though I didn't go near that isle) and refused to refund my $7. He claims because it was in a bag he could not confirm that I didn't take the item that day and "his count was off". Pretty much I walked in and was robbed myself. No store should assume that their customers are stealing to this degree and no one should be treated in the way I was. ACE learn to have some faith and give grace to people...
