I don't usually write reviews, but after 8 months, 5 delays, and still not having the correct couch, I feel like people should know what they're getting into here. We purchased a sectional from Colder's during their Labor Day sale on 9/3/2025. At the time, we were told delivery would take about 8 weeks. By the time we checked out, that had already turned into 12 weeks--but we were okay with it since the estimated delivery date (11/24/2025) meant we'd have it for Thanksgiving. That was the beginning of a long downhill experience. The delays started almost immediately. First it was pushed to 12/5, then again to 12/30 with no real explanation. When the couch finally showed up on 12/30, somehow only HALF of our sectional was correct--the other piece was completely wrong and had to be taken back. Instead of fixing their mistake quickly, we were told to wait nearly THREE MORE MONTHS for the correct piece, with a new delivery date of 3/17/2026. For that kind of error, Colder's offered us either a $100 credit or cleaning supplies--which honestly felt insulting. After waiting those additional months, the delays continued. Our order was pushed again to 4/1, and now, as of today, we've been hit with a FIFTH delay into mid-April due to "supplier issues." Communication has been just as frustrating as the delays. Calling during normal business hours often leads straight to voicemail, and we've had to repeatedly chase down updates ourselves. There's been no proactive communication and no real sense of accountability at any point. At this point, Colder's has offered a total of $195 in compensation for what has become an 8-month ordeal--and we STILL don't have the correct couch. We were patient because we genuinely wanted the product, but this experience has been exhausting and incredibly disappointing. If you're considering buying furniture here, just be aware: timelines don't mean much, mistakes happen, and getting answers or resolution can be a challenge. I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere. read more

2022 we purchased a beautiful dining room table and hutch. Six months later, the cushion sink and all the six chairs.. we were still under warranty and they came out and replaced the six cushions. A year later those cushions sink in again, but we were no longer under warranty, Colders recommend their repair company, Deborah Anderson Ray. The wife Deborah and husband Ray came into our home and replaced the cushions.. they did a horrible job, including repairing the chairs in our dining room and living room, and I had a lot of lint and materials to pick up after they left. I was so devastated. I refused to pay the full amount of $900.00. I'm disputing the rest of their lousy job of repair with my charge card. read more

I bought a new washer from Colder's. The machine was delivered and installed in the laundry area of my basement. Like many basement floors, mine has a slight slope to it so that if there are any water issues that arise, the water will run to a drain in the floor. As a result, the feet on appliances must be adjusted in order to make the equipment sit level. My dryer, my old washer and even the cement tubs were leveled in this way. After the washing machine was hooked up, the delivery guys ran it through a spin cycle. Everything seemed to be going well. I asked them if they would level the machine. "We already did that," came the reply. "If it wasn't level, the machine would be shaking during this spin cycle," one of the men added. While all four legs under the machine connected solidly with the floor, it was not sitting level. This condition would place wear and tear on the new machine over time. I went and got a level, placing it on the machine to illustrate what I meant. The bubble in the level sat far to one end. The two delivery guys were unmoved, however, insisting the machine was level. They spoke to me like my request was idiotic, and one of them pointed out that he's been doing this for 14 years and he knows when a machine is level. Nothing I said persuaded them to level the machine. They left. I called Colder's, quite angry about their delivery guys' refusal to help perform a task that the manual even calls for. At first the woman on the phone defended them, but she ultimately agreed to send a second crew out to my home. They took one look at the machine and agreed the it was not level. They raised the front two legs on the machine, compensating for the slope in the floor and bringing it level. I wonder how many other customers have been dis-served by the original pair of delivery guys, refusing to do this very basic step when installing an appliance. Whether they were they ignorant or just gaslighting me because they didn't feel like doing their jobs that day is something I'll never know, but I will hesitate to buy from Colder's again as a result. read more

Do not purchase their extended warranty through New Leaf. I bought a couch with 5 year coverage. The couch is less than 5 years old and is falling apart with multiple holes and stuffing coming out and they have denied the claim to fix it. I have tried to contact Colder's and nothing has been done. Poor quality furniture and poor customer service. I will never purchase anything from them again. read more

I ordered 2 springs to fix my recliner two months ago, I was told they were in stock and because of covid they may take 4 weeks to get here. I have been calling every few days to find out what happened and I get no answer except they are not here yet. They say they will check on it and call me back and I have not received one call back yet. I just called today and was told they may come in around the first week of December now. This is ridiculous they could have put the springs in an envelope and mailed them to me. My father and I shopped colders and he picked out a refrigerator that that the sales person offered to drop the disposal cost of the old refrigerator if we purchased the fridge that same day. She said we could call back by the end of the day. We left a message that day, they day after and called the day after that without one call back. Then we visited the store and worked with a different sales person who wasn't sure she could offer the disposal cost for free. She then looked up something said they could. The delivery was horrible. They said they would be there between 9 am and noon and call five minutes before showing up at 8:30 at my fathers house. My father is 89 and hard of hearing and doesn't see well so I usually help him with things like this. Because of the short notice, I didn't get there until the end of the delivery to find the front door damaged. They insisted it was like that before the delivery but we know it wasn't. In addition, they didn't provide a manual for the fridge. When I called to complain they said nothing could be done because we signed a signature on a pad stating we waive all issues with the delivery. I was promised a call back by various managers to discuss further but none ever called without me calling them. All in all, it was a horrible experience and definitely will not be going back for future purchases!!!! read more

I came in prepared to furnish my entire house that we just purchased, from theater seating to sectionals to couches to multiple bedroom sets. I was ignored by at least six store employees who were all having individual conversations on their own. *Update 3/12/22. I reached out to Sue as she requested in response to my review. We communicated via email and spoke over the phone just now. I greatly appreciated the effort she took to help make things right. On a side note, I did take a chance today and went to the Oak Creek location. This experience was completely different from my experience at the West Allis location. Jesus was excellent to work with. I might have found the perfect sectional, but did not purchase it yet. Told by the sales person that the delivery driver would hook up the new washer and they refused too and then when they dropped the washer in my laundry room. What they left me with was all scratched and dented on the top and now that they took my old washer away, I would have to wait weeks or months for a replacement, leaving me with no washer. They WILL sell you stuff they don't have. They WILL make their commission on it telling you it "may" be in stock soon. They WILL blame the manufacturer when they can't get it to you. Delivery was scheduled a week in advance for a sectional. The day of delivery I only received 2 pieces. I live 5 minutes down the road from the warehouse. The 2 pieces I received was delivered perfectly, and I have no issue with that. My issue is with the fact that I only received 2 pieces! When I got a call about their mistake (the order said it was delivered already, it was not) I was told I'd have to wait 2 more days to get the rest. I asked if there was a way I could get it the same day (it was only 230pm and I live right down the road from the warehouse), John said no. I'd have to wait until tomorrow. I asked for my delivery fee back because it was Colders' mess up, not mine. He said no, $100 store gift certificate is all he could give me. What am I going to buy in a $100 gift certificate to an expensive store? I want my delivery fee of $150 back because of THEIR mistake. It's only fair. Purchased a fridge. After delivery through them, personnel claimed it was accidentally scratched (two long horizontal marks high and low on the side). Told me they would send me touch up paint. Unfortunately I believed them and signed the paper. Realized later there's no way that could happen because they carry it in with belts from the sides so the scratches had to be there before delivery. Basically they sold me a scratch and dent item full price and I didn't catch their trick. Wonder what else they are doing unethical? Won't be dealing with them again. read more

I like a family run business, and I have to admit I'm a fan partly because of the sincere enthusiasm the grandaughter of the founder exudes (she's in charge of community outreach or something like that). I also like a company that has a catchy jingle. Put the two together, and Colder's enlisting local bands like Streetlife, the Greenfield Marching Band, the Milwaukee Poilce Band, and so many others to do their jingle and I'm sold. This location is huge, it's interesting just to walk through, and fairly good exercise. The furniture ranges from relatively cheap to moderately good. Prices fluctuate quite a bit, and the best prices are the usual holidays, President's Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day, and the week before each. The more you buy the better the savings but also the more difficult it is to compare. Sales people are friendly, helpful, not pushy. This particular location is really good because it's a hop, skip, and a jump (or a two minute drive) from a big Steinhafel's Outlet. One thing you can't do here is take a nap on one of the beds or sofas to "try it out." Some sales person will come by periodically and politely wake you up to see if you need any help. read more

I had been looking for a couch for a few weeks and to be honest I had grown tired of the search. Walked in having seen some couches online in my price range, but like all furniture, you have to see/feel it before you buy it. My mother and brother had also flown in from California to help with the search, so we were on a time crunch on wanting to find something affordable, deliverable, and that wasn't gonna take 8 plus weeks to get to me. Stephanie Schmidt was the person who greeted us and was very polite and helpful. Gave her a break down of my price range and what I was looking for and led me to where I would find what I was looking for. She knew about the time crunch, and also had an understanding about the backlog on a lot of models (every store so far was dealing with supply issues) and she made sure to let me know what was and wasn't in stock. Without pressuring me she also informed me that supplies do move quickly so if I saw something I liked, to take my time but also keep that in mind. I appreciated that. Ended up picking up a blue/grey couch (one of the first ones I saw and liked/one that Stephanie was quick to let me know was in stock). I paid the extra for the delivery fee, figured it'll cost me the same to rent a truck plus mileage and gas. Saved me some time and energy and it was out within 2 weeks (would have been sooner but the date they would have delivered I was taking my mom to the airport). They brought the couch in, it was smooth and fast. The guys made sure to be careful of both my walls and other furniture within the house so I was very pleased about that. Overall, I enjoyed my experience, I would recommend this store to everyone, from a low budget to a high one, I saw a bit in every price range. Staff were helpful, Stephanie was nice. On 08/08/2020 I purchase a queen box 40005995050 Restonic FDN and a queen matt 30003411050 aqua extra firm to be delivered on 08/20/2020. On the delivered day I received a broken box spring it appears to be a loose board inside the box spring, and a defective mattress that started to sag the second day after the delivery day. On Monday 08/24/2020 I went to the Oak Creek store to inquire about the broken and defective items, but I was not able to find anyone at the store to ask about what needs to be done. Then on Wednesday 08/26/2020 I went to the Oak Creek store again to inquire about the problem, at this time I was told that I needed to contact the Customer Solution department, a person name Annie who answered the phone told me that because I owned the box spring and the mattress for more than two days it was very possible than nothing could be done. I am not very happy about this situation. If I have to fill in a survey my answers will be very bad due to the COLDERS company is willing to take your money, but if there is a problem COLDERS will kick the customer on his or her behind saying that nothing can be done because the customer owned the merchandise for more than 2 days. Colder's is now down to one star. Tammy is still great. The rest of y'all, though... I'm still waiting for Colder's to honor my time on the piece that was supposed to be delivered back in October. The floor model, that they chose not to include in the in total delivery. After establishing that the nightstand would be delivered on 12/11/2016, I figured this ordeal was finally over. However, because of the first snow, delivery was cancelled. I totally get why that would happen. But, I was also abundantly clear that if the piece wasn't delivered on that day, I would not be able to take delivery of this nightstand until after the first of the year. Well, last night, at around 6 pm, I received a text stating that my delivery was scheduled for today. Less than 24 hours notice, on a day that I did not take the initiative to establish, nor was I called at any point prior to this date to confirm that I would be available to receive the piece. So, I called Colder's delivery, to explain, again, that I could not take delivery today. The rep at delivery put me on hold, either deliberately or whatever, disconnected the call, and then did not call back. Fast forward (less than 24 hours) to today. I get two calls, simultaneously, one from the delivery guy (remember, delivery was supposed to be cancelled for today) and one from my neighbor. My neighbor tells me that the delivery guy is aggressively pounding on and trying to get into my house (mind you, the terminology being used here does not say "breaking into") and my dog is stressed out. The message from the delivery guy is that he is trying to deliver, you know, the delivery that was cancelled, and wasn't supposed to be delivered until after the first of the year, anyway. The delivery guy is nice, and polite, and obviously stuck in the middle of this management/customer service nightmare known as Colder's. So, I call the Oak Creek store. I ask for Tammy, because she's polite and reasonable and does good work. Tammy has the day off, so I ask for a sales manager. In his hello, I can tell that this guy isn't really feeling having to do his job today. I explain the situation. I use literally one profanity. At this point, I feel I'm allowed. All I'm trying to do is get a piece of furniture delivered that was supposed to be in my original delivery, scheduled for October. I explain the customer service experience from the night before. I explained the message that I received from my neighbor. I explain that I'm upset. The manager's response? A controlling, condescending, attempt to shut me up. He refused to listen. He refused to actually care. Problem not resolved because I hung up. I couldn't stand to be treated like a child, rather than a valued customer. I spent $3600 at Colder's, in October. I worked and saved to replace old furniture. This whole experience has left me in a place where I can't enjoy what I worked hard for. Moral of the story. If you work hard for what you have, if you spend your money cautiously, and try to support locally based businesses, take your money elsewhere. Colder's doesn't care about you. read more

In Sept. 2020, I bought a new refrigerator from Colders. In early December there was an issue with the ice maker and a new control board was the necessary part to make the repair. Due to the pandemic, the part has not been available. Frigidaire was not very helpful in getting my new refrigerator working correctly other than telling me there was no estimated date available for the new part. Since I bought the refrigerator at Colders, they went above and beyond to get my family a fully working refrigerator again. Nicole from Customer Solutions helped me get a brand new refrigerator and take back the defective one. I'm very impressed by the good customer service I received from Colders. They stand behind what they sell and worked to keep me as a satisfied customer, even after the issue I had. read more

The solutions team (Sarah) made things happen, she went above and beyond to make sure I was a very happy customer. The sales team was so helpful (Jon aka skee) very nice, very knowledgeable. The store manager was very nice also! The owner made things happen too! You were all very nice and accommodating. Had a good experience so far with Colder's Furniture; however, I would only recommend purchasing actual furniture from them. After looking at their mattress prices, you can get a better deal from mattress firm, and for a TV, I would recommend going to an actual electronics retailer (BestBuy or Amazon.com). The dollar for dollar deal is pretty good and if you do some looking around the store (it's a large showroom that my wife and I got lost in a couple of times) you will find something that might meet your needs. We wound up purchasing a new, $2,500 bedroom set (queen bed frame w/ storage, head board, dresser w/ mirror) and got 2 book shelves (84" and 32"), 2 matching night stands and a 7 drawer chest for "free". All peaces are solid wood (the bedroom set is Oak and Cedar lined and the bookshelves are Cherry) and are good quality. read more

They said May now they are saying early or late June. There is no excuse for the company to take so long to fulfill customer orders like this. Very disappointing visit today. Went in looking for a specific color leather chair. After 0 minutes in the store I was greeted by Greg M. I showed him a leather chair in the color I was looking for. The sale price included an ottoman. I said where is the ottoman? He said, "in the warehouse!!" I said well can I see a picture of it? He said "no..it's just an ottoman!!" I asked for at least the size of it--he looked it up on computer. When he returned I asked him if there were any other leather chairs in the store in this color?? He replied right away, "no!" (the color is not unusual--a whiskey color) I asked if any other chairs in the store could be specially ordered in that color? Right away he replied "NO!"--no one is ordering that color any more!" I walked away and do not plan on returning! As I passed many chairs on my way out I saw several samples hanging in the color I wanted. I came back to leave a review since it's been a year since I moved to WI. As soon as my fiancé and I got off our flight from rural OR we went to work looking for things for my room. We stopped at this Colder's for a mattress. Several employees just stared at us, I assumed because we looked so flushed from the heat and overwhelmed by the huge store. Finally a lady came over to help and I asked what was the soonest we could get a mattress and how much for delivery. Side note: we are both from small towns in the west where the stores have only what you see. We knew little about warehouses and displays. The employee started to explain that it would take several days after we bought the mattress. Another employee, an older man, overheard the lady and interrupted to berate us, calling us "city folks" and cackling that we thought we could buy a mattress the same day. We just walked out, went to Steinhafels, bought a mattress, and we rented a small uhaul to get it from the warehouse later that day. read more

Purchasing a microwave, going on our 3rd so far in our lifetime, so we (spouse & self) know what we are looking for in a 36 year time span. The last one only lasted 8-10 years, and every finger print was visible so I was not sad to see is out the door. The Oak Creek location had maybe 2-3 other parties in the store at the time of microwave purchase arrival. Sales person, Kenneth B. assisted with measurements, and any questions and concerns we had and within 5 minutes, we narrowed down our selection between 2 and was listing the pro's & con's, with each of leaning on the opposite microwave. We calmly debated for 1 minute and mutually made our final selection. After the purchase was made with the sales person, my spouse went outside to pull the car up; I followed to the desk for the administrative clerk to take it out of inventory since it was a floor model or something. This took a managers approval, no problem for me to wait 3-5 more minutes. The sales person could not get the microwave to our car until this inventory or procedural task was done. Meanwhile, a few new customers walked into the store and the sales person was chopping at the bit wanting to jump on the opportunity. The computer task was done, and Kenneth B, Salesperson walked the microwave outside for loading. Before leaving the loaded car, unknown to me since I was inside the store to sign something for wait for the clearance to leave the store, Kenneth B, Salesperson stated to my spouse "Happy Wife, Happy Life". This could be funny if I had a personal relationship with the sales person, but professionally speaking, it was inappropriate and insensitive. I will think twice when using Colders again. I hope this person changes how he treats and talks to future customers in their presence or not. read more

I purchased a sofa. I was told it would take a few weeks to come in. No big deal. Called to get it delivered to my residence after it did come in as stated. I have been on hold for over 15 minutes trying to get someone on the line. The original person who answered the phone was not very kind and then threw me on hold. I held for 15 minutes before the person came back on the line. Not very apologetic. Won't be shopping here again for furniture. read more
