IKEA used to be a go-to destination - busy, well-organized, and genuinely fun to browse. Lately, though, it feels like a shadow of its former self. The showroom feels noticeably empty, both in terms of foot traffic and staff presence. Though the upstairs display walk through areas look decent and recently rearranged/changed, it still feels empty. Where there used to be employees readily available on the floor, you're lucky to spot a few in certain areas. If you're coming in to return or exchange an item, you may casually stand around for a bit until staff comes from the back to tend to that area. Displays of merchandise feel like an afterthought compared to how carefully curated things once were i.e.: a cart full of items vs them being displayed and organized. The biggest disappointment? The cafe downstairs.. I've visited a few times recently and it's been closed or non-operational each time with kiosks showing an error screen or "CLOSED". It used to be a highlight of the whole trip - I'd always look forward to grabbing a little meatball sundae on the way and making an afternoon of it. Instead, I now find myself in a long long line waiting for one of four self-checkout stations to open up.. (the previously staffed registers are no longer a thing and other self-checkout lines are blocked off)..only to look over and see the cafe kiosk dark and unattended. It really takes the joy out of the visit. That said, there are still some redeeming qualities. The as-is section remains a solid find for deals, and apparently you can now shop it online - a nice touch. The space also has free WiFi, so if you're looking for a low-key study spot and the restaurant upstairs happens to be open, it could work for that. Overall, it feels like IKEA is operating with reduced resources, and it shows. I don't follow there business much so I'm not sure if they're struggling but hoping things turn around not only for the customers but for the staff too! read more

My husband and I ordered kitchen cabinets from IKEA. We thought it would be good to save some money and have decent cabinets for the house. We worked with 2 designers in store, and paid for the purchase in store too. Our main designer was Sebastian, and the second designer who "cleaned things up" was Chris. I'm not sure who dropped the ball, but one of the designers / "co-workers" forgot to order the counter top!!! We had chosen the ECBACKEN counter top in black, and were very excited to have that dark counter top with the light colored cabinets. Imagine our shock and horror when there was NO COUNTER TOP in the shipment that arrived at our home. I checked both the purchase receipt and the freight receipt, and sure enough, the ECBACKEN counter top was not on either. I immediately called the national IKEA customer service line to file a claim, and they were able to complete it. However, after a few days, the woman who ultimately handled our claim said there was nothing they could do. They were not responsible for the big order, the missing counter top, or the heartache and delay of the installation. They didn't do anything about the problem, they did not admit fault, and they did not offer anything to assist us or make things better. IKEA IS HORRIBLE!!! Cheap, shoddy products; poor customer service; and all the "we care about you and the Earth" are just corporate lies to get your money and keep you spending at their store. We should have just gone with a custom cabinetry builder -- at least we would have had a quality product and top notch customer service. IKEA, you will eventually reap what you sow! read more

My experience at the return desk was really awful. I just wanted to return an item I bought two months ago, and right away the associate told me they couldn't take it back, without clearly explaining why. I had to call the IKEA hotline and ask for a manager to come over. By the time that happened, I was told I had to put my name back on the wait list, even though I had already been waiting, and now theres 7 people ahead of me. After standing there for another 30 minutes, the manager finally showed up and was not very pleasant to deal with. In the end, they did accept the return, but the whole process felt unnecessarily stressful and unfair, especially since there was no good reason for refusing the return in the first place. What a waste of time! What could improve? The return team and the manager can improve that's for sure. read more

With all the different food options available, I will always get their Swedish meatballs. I got Ikea's largest size and the other plate is the regular 8 piece one as a portion comparison. Desserts are decent and all priced affordable. I even got a meatball sundae (Swedish meatballs, mashed potatoes, gravy and their lingonberry jam) before hitting the road again. I just bought a stand from here , and it was affordable! Looks nice , and doesn't break the bank . I am not a builder, never built anything before. This was my first item to do so, and it took 4+ hours. It was a bit of challenge piecing everything together, but eventually did so! When it comes to the part where you have to put the hinges that come with the wheels it's crucial to know which ones your putting on and the correct direction, ( gray wheel and a white wheel) if those are incorrect you will mess up the cabinet and you'll need to start over. I will say though finding the item in the store wasn't so easy, the aisle was listed on the app, but the store itself to find it was a bit confusing with the layout , and not a lot of staff members were on the floor that day! They do have some promotions and extra discounts if you sign up for an ikea account on the app! read more

Ikea is a great place to browse, to get the creative juices flowing, and entertain the plethora of decor and furniture possibilities. And if you want some meatballs, you can visit the Cafe, or go to the Quick Service counter, order at the Kiosk, and pick up at the counter; you can also make a food purchase, a Kiosk is right there. Members can get a free cup of coffee or decaf at the Restaurant. The displays are changing. Some of the Inventory has changed. Could be due to availability or the upcoming tariffs. Some of the furniture pricing has already increased. I would suggest you take measurements of the items you may need or of the space it will occupy, prior to visiting. The Billy bookcase comes in different sizes and is still a good value. I also like the Kallax line too. Could work as a room separator too. On the plants, sometimes it isn't a good idea. We've returned them in the past. At least, there is a guarantee. We've gotten a number of things from this store: clothing hangers, kitchen storage containers, large scale storage bags, bathroom rugs, as well as food, however, the meatballs are pricey now. Gotta love IKEA! My partner (that's her daughter in the photo) had never been there & so we decided to make an afternoon of it. Thought it would only be an hour or so since it was her first time. It turned into 4 hours later & a good amount of money spent. lol. We love how they have the kids area. We went back the following week with the kids & her daughter wanted to go play in the kids area. She had an amazing time! The people that work there were absolutely fabulous, speaking to the kids as their equal & not speaking through the parents. They took excellent care of them & although they only provided a one hour time limit (I think it needs to be more), she had the best time! Obviously have to go to the food court for a little Snacky snack. I wish they would bring more vegan options. In other countries, they have a significant amount more of vegan options. Overall, we will continue to go to IKEA. Great prices, quality product (it has gone up significantly over the years), & a fun time to be had doing all of it. Thanks Team IKEA! read more

The IKEA restaurant today around 1:30pm, Sunday, April 26, was an awful experience, long 20 minute line, absolutely no desserts on the self selection shelves to choose from, the Swedish meatballs were good with mashed potatoes but instead of the usual green peas, we were served tasteless and halfway cooked string beans. The coffee section was not good either, very weak. The tables were all pretty much dirty, no staff to wipe down the area and chairs as well. The dish and cup return area was dirty too, trash left on the floor. My wife and I usually go to IKEA twice a month, this is the first time we encountered a disappointing trip to their cafeteria. We figured they did not have enough staff on a crowded weekend. read more

I was told to get assorted bags from Ikea since we do not have any locations in Hawaii. They are around 14m from the strip and not near any other notable visits. I arrived at a store twice the size of a Costco and walked the equivalent of a few miles inside. I was quite impressed with all of the exhibits displaying their various items to buy in store or order. In the end, I did find the bags after about 40 minutes and using a kiosk to tell me the location in store. They have a wide arrangement of bag sizes and all seem freezer friendly. I visited their café before going on my way back to my hotel. I had the following below: Salmon: 7/10, This was a pretty generous piece of salmon that was not overcooked and still moist inside. I rather enjoyed it for a cafeteria-style setup and selection. Swedish Meatballs: 8/10. These meatballs were spot-on and quite good. I was notified later that I should have gotten the gravy and that 'would have made them a 10/10'. French Fries: 6/10, standard, not too salty, not overcooked. Mashed Potato: 7/10. Decent mashed potatoes, not too creamy (my stomach appreciates), and has a good consistency. They went really well with the meatballs. I was notified later that the meatball gravy would have 'also pushed this individual item at least 2 ratings higher'. Honestly, I would love for a location to open up in hawaii some day. Their products are interesting and in pretty high demand. Their cafe was also good for what they had, and they were almost fully packed around opening at 10am! Interesting experience! read more

How could you not love IKEA?!?!? lol just make sure to get there early and visit the food and beverage area first for the best Swedish meatballs ever! I wish they had those little handheld wands that they have at the Mandalay shark reef aquarium that talk to you and explain stuff that would be so cool and like everyone else we got lost even though we were following the arrows I would have employees walking around, checking on people making sure people are OK and maybe offering water or something. I love your store. We actually didn't purchase anything but some food I guess it may be different on weekends because we were there during the week I was in the market for some cheap shelving, but I ended up picking it up at Walmart a couple hours later so had we had somebody helping us we maybe would've purchased something besides the food that was delicious by the way, but I already say that? Interactive store and a great place to get ideas. We ended up purchasing several things for our project here. They have options for every budget. It's VERY easy to go into zombie mode. If you get lost, just follow the arrows on the floor. There are helpers throughout the store to assist anyone who has that "deer in the headlights" look. My first time to ever visiting an ikea... My wife has gone to the one outside Sacramento a few times, however, this is the first time. All I can say is this place is HUGE! And the floorplan is a bit bizarre to me. You cannot just go to the IL you want your stuff like Costco, you have to zigzag through all of the departments.. It is definitely designed to get you to see a lot of stuff. My son came here and get some set cushions for his dinning chairs. This is like the king of dollar store. So much stuff here that is an expensive. I'm not sure about the quality, but it is nice to not be gouged. A strange thing did happen. When we went to self check out, there were two workers standing there watching us and we were not greeted. I mean hello or something I don't know. They did talk to each other. Kind of reminded me of wal-mart how all the workers are unfriendly. read more

IKEA Las Vegas - Good Food, Good Finds IKEA, how I wish we had one in Hawaiʻi. Since we don't, I had to make the most of my stop in Las Vegas. I didn't have time to wander the entire maze of showrooms, but I did manage breakfast in the café--and it was surprisingly good. I ordered the vegetable medallions (broccoli & potato cakes) with mashed potatoes on the side, and everything was hot, fresh, and filling. The café itself is one of my favorite parts of IKEA: bright, airy windows, plenty of space, and a cheerful atmosphere that makes it easy to take a break before (or after) shopping. Even in a short visit, I grabbed a few snacks and omiyage to bring back to Hawaiʻi. That's the beauty of IKEA--it's not just furniture. It's also kitchenware, home goods, and all kinds of little things you didn't know you needed, all at good prices. Next time I'll leave more time to stroll through the whole store, but breakfast and a bag of goodies was enough to remind me why I love IKEA. And so much parking!! read more

We love us some IKEA! Our family enjoys visiting for creative inspiration and for their cafe. The sheer variety of products available at IKEA is wonderful. From furniture to home decor to kitchenware, there's something for everyone and every room in the house. With new arrivals and seasonal collections regularly introduced, there's always something new and exciting to discover. Unfortunately, times have changed, as they do. Ikea used to be hands-down the place you'd find a particular item for the least expensive price and it'd be better quality. Now, many items such as their kitchenware and decor pieces, ESPECIALLY their furniture pieces, are more expensive and the same average quality as if you were to shop them at Target or Walmart. There are still many wonderful finds at great prices and quality, though (the bedding and duvet section still reigns supreme). Undoubtedly, what sets IKEA apart from other stores is its food court. After exploring the vast expanse of the store, you can refuel with delicious Swedish specialties like meatballs, lingonberry sauce, and cinnamon buns. Near the registers exit, you'll also find a smaller cafe with hot dogs and frozen carbonated beverages akin to Icees. There has been many times where our family visits IKEA just to enjoy their cafe. They offer a free membership that gives you great deals for shopping the store as well as food deals like a free coffee or tea when you visit. We're definitely fans! read more

My husband and I come here for lunch every two weeks. I love their salmon salad, always get this. My husband loves vegetables meatballs and their breakfast menu. Guess what, I found they have fried onion in a small container while checking out at the food court. I'm telling you, the best so far I had ever tasted. I buy different brands and ikea brand is the best so far. Each time we go, I get a few. I put it as toppings my soup, dumplings, noodles, fried rice..... I'm telling you, it is so good. Their second level inspirational ideas are always amazing and their food court always has great selections to snack on while shopping. My favorite part of their store is their "As Is" section for good condition return items or pallet items that can be used for side projects or diy projects for anything and everything. I can't hate IKEA. I buy most my furniture here and I say you get what you pay for. It's affordable but it has actually lasted quite a long time. Recently I've been coming here for the food. It's unbeatable. I can get pasta with meatballs for 7 bucks and it's enough to fill me up. I actually couldn't even finish it all so I got my man to. We also got their Mac and cheese side and tried a few of the fountain drinks. Will definitely be coming back even just for the food. Love IKEA!! read more

What can I say about my trip to IKEA? It was like Disneyland without rides! I always have so much fun wandering around IKEA. It can be a little dangerous for the bank account though. They have a magic door that people enter through thinking they need one or two items and as they pass through they realize that they need at least one or two items in every aisle. All their items are reasonably priced and there is something for every budget. You can buy a cool kitchen gadget for less than $10 of get a full kitchen renovation. They have many mini rooms for inspiration if you need a little help visualizing for yourself. If organization is your thing then this is your store. They have fabulous containers, shelves and racks galore. They also have a cafe with delicious meatballs, chicken finger, deserts, etc so you can rest and shop some more. They also have cute plushies all over the store as well. The only con I can come up with is that the service is always meh to sometimes curt. This trip is the first time that a cashier offered to help ring us up even though it was only self checkout that was open. We had a lot of items that would have took us forever to do ourselves. When I got home I noticed that some items that were on sale did not scan so we were overcharged about $10. I figured it was a service charge for having someone help us check out. Lol Even with the cons I still have fun at IKEA. I do hope they improve customer service because some people may be turned away by it. read more

This is first time in awhile since I have been at ikea. But when I checked out I had asked where I could pay cash. The assistant said they only do debit and credit cards. I didn't want to use my credit card. All they had was self serve check outs. Things have changed. I no longer will drive all the way to other side of town. I will use a different store from now on. Our first visit to ikea in Nevada. Same as Sacramento, but no pandemic restrictions like four years ago. There is a designated walking direction with arrows above your head and on the floor. In Cal, we didn't notice right off and ended up walking the floor backwards the whole way. We also noticed an interesting sales technique that mimics a bait and switch. But it's not. Say you want a stack of matching dishes. They aren't sold as a set. The least expensive item is displayed prominently, NOT ALL PIECES ARE THE SAME PRICE. Most are more expensive. If you're not paying attention, it's easy to overpay for an item. Look carefully and you'll see the correct tag for the item you wanted, with the correct price. If you didn't...that's on you. We were interested in a couple of clear glass drinking glasses for 99 cents each. Again, The green glass is $1.99 each. They are made in France with no markings of dishwasher or microwave safe. We passed. The people were friendly but we had trouble understanding a few of them. After taking time to work with them, we understood each other and ended with a smile. 04/24 read more

This IKEA is hit or miss. Customer Service is OK but there's always something wrong here like today. It's 5 o'clock in the afternoon. They don't close till nine and they've closed down all ( most of ) their food( upstairs and down)Usually you wanna get like a little Swedish cup for the kids, you can't because they don't have any they don't have any employees working hardly and they don't have anybody making anything. I would understand like an hour or two before the store closes but for whole hours it's just not OK. Update just found out from an employee. They're told to shut everything down at five so if you want food for your kids, do not come to IKEA after 5 o'clock. Actually don't even bother because there's not gonna be anything for you or the children come early with the crowds or come later with no crowds and no food. read more

I can not count the times I have been to Ikea and yet never reviewed it. I like browsing their room set ups and everything seems to be reasonably priced. . I have bought several household items and furniture. And some of them have withstood the usual wear and tear limits. One thing that seems to be a constant (non) occurrence when browsing and needed help is the staff. Specially around the display area where questions regarding installations, fees and costs need to be explained. As for their cafeteria, a pleasant space to hang out and have some Swedish cuisine to nosh on. And they are very affordable considering the quality and quantity. Just like in a cafeteria, grab a tray and pick up the food of your choice. The drinks, salads and deserts are on open shelves for easy access while the entrees are served by the staff. I got the pan fried cod which came with green peas and mashed potatoes. Just right for a light lunch. Also as an Ikea member, there's free coffee when you present your Ikea card. A visit to Ikea is always a treat. read more

Prices are usually decent and I'm always able to find a sale on something I didn't think I needed, but needed after seeing it. Food isn't the best but not bad for the price. Overall? My daughter wanted to get a few new furniture pieces for her room and I couldn't think of a better place to stop at, IKEA! On a Sunday morning, around 11:00 A.M, we had stopped by. IKEA is located off of the 215/Sunset exit. There are plenty of parking spaces available at IKEA. It's been several years since I've visited this IKEA location and I forgot the layout. As soon as you walk into IKEA, you can go up the escalator to the food court or you can start your journey through various room setup and displays. As you adventure through IKEA, you get to explore and visualize how different furniture pieces and accessories can be utilized. My daughter was looking for bookshelves and shelving organizers at IKEA. IKEA offers an extensive range of furniture and home décor items. You'll see a variety of traditional and classic designs to sleek or modern designs. Most of IKEA offerings are designed with functionality first. A lot of their pieces include some sort of storage solution or space saving ideas. One of the best parts about IKEA though is their pricing. IKEA offers functional and well-designed products at low prices which is great! I'm glad I had my phone charged before coming to IKEA. As we were looking at different pieces, we had to take pictures of the tags. The furniture you can be picked up at the first floor warehouse. We also purchased a plush whale towards the end of our journey within IKEA. We had such a fun time looking at all of the kitchen designs, bedroom layouts, and office space examples. IKEA was the place to be. It was fun to browse around get some ideas and back then was cheaper than today. Well obviously as pandemic hit prices went up to now whoa what's going on IKEA? Workers here seem to be hiding or just in plain sight of just deep into conversation with work colleagues. There's probably 2-4 workers you actually see really working. Ikea still a cool place to stroll through and get ideas or to pass some time and you don't need help from floor workers then you're good to go! The cafe was the spot for cheap eats. This cafe was almost always busy back then and now it's dead. It's crazy though cafe workers here seem angry or depressed. Like diners are bothering them. There's this one cashier with dark makeup and very pale skin she's the worse. No smile, no personality just the face of why are you here?! She looks like she hates her job idk but she's definitely not cut up for customer service. They're now serving meals on paper plates. What I thought she wiping the trays dry but she was really wiping it with her wet rag like are you "washing" it at the cash register? What's going on IKEA?
