We went for Plant Bingo and had such a fun time! I recommend getting there early to grab a seat. There were four of us, so we got a nice table together. They play 20 rounds, and even if you don't win bingo, you still get a 2-inch plant. I also really liked that they talk about the different plants between rounds. It makes it fun and you actually learn something and add some plants to your "want" list. They had 3 people helping with calling, showing plants and serving food. They have some food and drink options available, or there's a restaurant next door with some really yummy sandwiches. There's also plenty of parking, and surprisingly, there aren't a ton of other stores in the shopping center, so parking was easy. Our advice is simple: get all pricing, service expectations, and termination terms in writing. Where $1.50 will be deducted from the total. Study/Cafeteria seating: On a Thursday 1pmish, both large tables were taken up. Maybe 1 seat available on one of the large table for sharing. Some couches looked dirty and kinda questionable, especially when someone is full on sleeping on one of them with a full size luggage by them (layover resting place?). High ceilings, good air circulation, fake plants around, large window views definitely makes this place feel relaxing. Cafeteria and study area are separated. Two big tables have people talking. Another area by the restroom has laptop users too. There is an area with 2 microwaves, next to the restrooms. Another area I've seen people studying/working. I bought a candy bar and wanted to redeem the free coffee included with my IKEA Family membership. The cashier asked if I had the app to scan, and I told her I didn't have it available and asked if she could use my phone number instead. She initially told me no. I explained that I come here regularly and other employees have always been able to look up my membership using my phone number. She then rudely told me, "I'll do it for you this time, but next time you need to have the app because they might stop taking phone numbers." What bothered me is that IKEA's own website specifically says that if you don't have your digital IKEA Family card available, you can provide your phone number or email address at checkout. I wasn't asking her to make an exception for me. I was using an option IKEA itself tells customers they can use. I didn't get the cashier's name, but she was a white woman with dark hair and was wearing a hat, in case management wants to identify who was working at the restaurant register at the time. This happened Friday, 9/25, at 2:35 pm. The coffee obviously isn't the issue. It was the unnecessary attitude and being made to feel like I was asking for special treatment when I was simply following IKEA's stated policy. I normally enjoy coming here, so hopefully the restaurant staff can be better informed about the IKEA Family policy and communicate with customers more respectfully. I swear, they had a velvet rope, a bouncer who looked like he wrestled bears in his spare time, and a questionnaire that asked for my blood type, social security number, and the thread count of my dreams. Apparently, only "industry owners" are worthy of their hallowed halls. I'm pretty sure my grandma, who sews better than most fashion designers, wouldn't have made the cut. Once I finally breached the inner sanctum, I was greeted by prices so high, they could make a billionaire weep. I saw a scrap of lace that was priced like it was woven from unicorn hair and spun by angels. I'm pretty sure I could buy a small island for the cost of their "sale" bin. And the staff? Oh, the staff. They looked like they were auditioning for a remake of "The Stepford Wives," but instead of being robots, they were just...snobby. Asking for help was like pulling teeth from a grumpy badger. I inquired about the difference between two types of cotton, and they looked at me like I'd just asked them to explain quantum physics in Klingon. Honestly, I'm surprised this place hasn't been swallowed by a black hole of pretentiousness. My husband and I recently purchase 2 large Japanese Column trees from Moon Nursery on Tule Springs…read moreRd. Before they were delivered, we went back several times to look at our trees to make sure they weren't too large for our yard. Our original salesman was no longer working there, and that's when we met Houghton, who just happened to be around. We explained our concerns about the size of the trees, giving him the measurements of our yard space. He confirmed that they would fit. I was still anxious but went with his expertise. Once we got home, Houghton called us and asked if we would like him to come over and check out the yard personally. (I had thought about asking him but felt foolish. He knew I still had doubts). He came to our home and confirmed that they would fit perfectly. The trees were just delivered and planted. (Side note... the trees delivered were the wrong ones. One call to Houghton (it was his day off), and within no time, we had the correct ones delivered.) I cannot say enough about Houghton. He wasn't even the salesman we purchased the trees from, but his customer service, professionalism and personal concern for our perfect experience, went above and beyond! I strongly recommend him to anyone who is interested in purchasing trees from Moon Nursery.
