So I bought a handful of things and several of them were on sale. I didn't realize until I got to the line that I only got the sale price if I had the IKEA card. It was free to sign up for so I was trying to do it but I couldn't get everything to load and it was frustrating. The cashier was so nice and she asked the gentleman behind me if I could use his phone number to get the discount. He was so nice and said absolutely. So I got the discount and saved like 10 bucks. I love this place Huge selection of furniture and house-related goods for any house. You start on the second floor with more oversized items for your living room, kitchen, bedrooms, or bathrooms. The vast selection and price range will blow your mind. Most things from the second floor are on the shelves before the exit, so you need to write down their name, designed location, and price. There are game rooms for kids while you are shopping. On the first floor, you can get a cart and load mostly smaller items for your house.  They have multiple collections of indoor plants as well. Once you are through the first floor, you can get a flat coach for your bigger things from the shelves before you check everything out. IKEA has the best return policy, and delivery is quick. They have a good cafe at exist, and the yogurt cone with two different flavors is super yummy. Plan at least 2 hours to visit this store. read more

This also allows the showrooms to avoid the clutter of carts. This allows for more items to be on display. The bed we wanted was listed in stock on the website and in the store, on the display. When we got to the aisle in the warehouse section of the store to get it, it wasn't to be found. We had to ask an Ikea employee for help and he said the bed was out of stock. Why not just let us know it wasn't in the store right away? Also, why is everything in the restaurant double up in price since last year? Our income did not double up?... Overall, everything was over-priced, most items are junk made in China. Ikea sent us an email asking us to provide a honest review of our visit to the store. We wrote exactly the same as here, twice Ikea banned us of publishing our review because it "violated community standards"... What standards? This is an honest review, nothing offensive in it. I think it's pretty difficult to not enjoy IKEA. Right? Unless it's incredibly crowded and you can't enjoy browsing around. But the trips I've made here have always been fun. I actually get sad when I've walked through every section and need to leave... I know everything is super mass produced and not really unique and blah blah, but the prices are rad considering how nice and pretty everything is, and I find the quality of things I've bought to be totally acceptable! From $0.79 linen dish towels, to $50 bookcases, to $10 blankets, to $200 tables... I've totally loved my purchases. We recently got a paper star lantern lamp shade for $4.99 and we seriously love It so much. It's gold!! It's so simple, we wondered if It would look cheap on our lamp, but It looks legitimately pretty. The only thing I've bought from IKEA that I wasn't totally happy with with a pillowcase cover... when I got It home and unwrapped It, the zipper was broken. It was only $6, so not exactly worth sending or driving all the way back.... I'll just mend the zipper! In the meantime, the unzipped pillowcase covered pillow still looks great on the couch! IKEA is most fun right now when all the holiday stuff abounds. Beautiful prints and colors, festive ideas all over. They have great affordable wrapping stuff. Very helpful staff that seems big enough to properly handle the hoards of people that must roll through here everyday. Good job, IKEA. Everything always seems to be running smoothly.... check-out is quick despite the long lines, every section throughout the store is so well maintained, the bathrooms are clean, there's staff around to ask for help. We ate our lunch at the cafeteria. The ladies serving our food didn't seem to understand or speak much English. Or if they did, they didn't answer my questions. I was inline specifically to get side orders with carrots in them. The first section I got to that had carrots was the rice medley. So I asked the lady serving my food if there were other side items or menu items with more carrots than this. She just looked at me and didn't react at all. Just kept asking me if I wanted that rice medley. I asked a few times and no replies so I gave in and said "yeah sure if that's the only item you have with carrots in them". Then as I moved down the line to the next section. Sure enough right there was a vegetable medley tray with what? Carrots! And lots of them. So I told the lady why she didn't tell me there was this item? I woudn't have gotten the other one if I knew there was this one?! She again stared at me blankly and gestured towards the vegetable medley. I said, yes please give me this one. I got tired of explaining things and just pressed on. My only gripe is, I do believe they charged me extra then for the side item I didn't want in first place. read more

My wife & I are in our seventies, so I asked the young man helping us to confirm that the delivery would be inside our home & not on the porch. Been shopping IKEA for years, however since I've been focused on certain replacements in my home, I have been there 3 times in the last 3 weeks. There is a lot to see, so if you are reading this to a good idea of whether to go, I suggest allowing an hour to move through the 2 level showroom. If you have little ones, then drop them off at the playland near the entrance but don't bank on availability since it is popular and can get full quickly. How did I work my visit? Well if you are thirst or hungry, then it won't hurt to pick up a drink, meal and/or snack at the snack bar on the first floor or cafe on the second floor. When done, don't forget to bus your table. Make sure you have your walking shoes on because you are going to rack up some Fitbit points. Follow the arrows around the show room to see "everything". Use a map or follow the signs that point you towards shortcuts if you are looking for someone specific and don't want to go to each section. Not sure if you want to get a cart? No worries as there are bags and pulleys throughout the location. Honestly, you can stroll through the top floor and not need a cart or bag until you get close to the end (children's area) where carts and bags are available. Will need one for the bottom floor adventure because they are going to have at least one thing you never knew you needed until now. I like the creativeness that comes from visiting IKEA. I can't say that everything is my style but could be for others in my home or for making a great gift. read more

I love to shop at IKEA, generally a fun experience and always stuff to buy. However, lately I've noticed that the color schemes have been quite distasteful, and not very appeasing. While I do like visiting the store, I've been pretty disappointed with the quality of some of the items as well as the colors. 1. Store experience was good-- employees were helpful and available, especially in the couch section. 2. Online ordering experience was really frustrating-- I spent a long time adding items to my cart, and then at the FINAL STEP I was told that half the items were not available for delivery to me. I had to remove them from my cart. This was frustrating for at least two reasons: (a) I wish you had told me sooner they were not available; it would have saved me a lot of time; (b) There was not even a way to "save for later", which would have reduced the frustration a bit. 3. Delivery was 5 hours after the window-- I get that stuff happens; it was supposed to arrive between 9-1, but didn't arrive until after 6pm. Although I got no communication until about 30min before it arrived (around 6pm). I had to call the delivery company around 2pm to get a status update, and they every returned my call. 4. IKEA hold times for phone unbelievable-- I waited for about 1 hour to speak with an IKEA customer service person on the phone. And, the person could not even answer my questions about the delivery, since the shipment was already in possession of the shipper! Disappointing. read more

Hey man, it's IKEA. If you and your loved one want to test your relationship, come here on a weekend. You will either give in to the anxiety and tension that can turn a nice outing together into a montage of unrecoverable utterances and unforgettable ugliness, or you will sit back and watch other couples and families sink into their darkest moments, while you squeeze your honey's hand tighter and look at her lovingly across a plate of meatballs. I recommend the meatballs. All in all, it is an IKEA like the other IKEAs, for sure. We did have a moment where a shelf unit we loved and was on display was not in the store. When we asked about it downstairs, the man at the customer service informed us it was discontinued, but we could have one shipped from the company for a rather large delivery charge. We felt that it was a ploy to get people to pay for shipping, when we had already braved a trip to this madhouse to avoid paying for that. Other than that, like I said, it's IKEA. On a recent trip to Frisco, my companion Peg and I decided to see IKEA for ourselves as it was located just minutes from our hotel. Is all the hype justified? Well, yes and no. Before you brand that answer as a "cop out," read on. We entered and picked up a shopping cart and headed to the second floor showroom. This place is huge, an assault on the senses. I secretly suspect that this assault is calculated to numb the mind so that the customer will follow the arrows that lead through the showroom blindly. And everywhere one looks, this assault takes place. Don't give 'em a chance to recover, just keep hammering at 'em! Yes, Master, must follow the arrows! Now, Peg is a former interior designer; she was in her element and was flitting hither and yon through the displays, oo-ing and ah-ing, commenting on this and that. As a former surgeon, I'm used to focusing on a narrow field of vision and being in one spot; this and IKEA do not mix! Like a pup with his tail between his legs, I followed Peg's footsteps through what seemed an eternity of twists and turns and detours. Peg was having a ball, tossing this and that into the cart; me, I was totally lost! I will be the first to admit that the prices are reasonable; one reason being that it's up to you to assemble the furniture when you arrive home. But the style is too angular for my taste. Still, everything was well-built and sturdy and there were a few items I actually liked. Not loved, mind you--liked. But my Peg loved everything, which was all that mattered. Finally--FINALLY!--we emerged and made our way to the cafeteria for a much needed break and lunch (see my review). We took the huge elevator to the first floor check out lines. Luckily for us, the wait was short. We unloaded the shopping cart onto the conveyor belt and were met by the disgusted look of the checker. "You can't buy these," she said, "they're display items." We explained that there were several of each item in baskets throughout the store, all with tags. "Well, you should know better." We explained this was our first visit. "You'll just have to return the items and start over." Nope, I don't think so. See ya! Since then, we've learned that one copies the item number and location, then goes to the storehouse downstairs, picks out the item, and goes to check out. At the time we were there, there were no signs explaining this process; we understand that now there are. Will we return? Well, that's inevitable and Peg's chomping at the bit for another visit. This time we'll be more savvy; well, at least Peg will be. I fear that I'll again fall under IKEA's spell, my mind will turn to mush and I'll wander aimlessly through the store. Came to this IKEA in Frisco for a bed frame and they seem to always go out of stock for items but I was able to get all the pieces I needed. Went to the kiosk in the storage unit and was able to look for everything I needed without roaming the entire store. For large items, you need to get a ticket from the information desk to scan at the register. Waiting at Furniture Pick-Up was a quick breeze probably a 4minute wait. Showed my receipt and I was on my way to get a pretzel! It is a clean store and the eating area is pretty modern, clean, and quiet even with children. read more

Speaking strictly on the "buy online, pick up in store" experience, it was all right. My order was ready during the pickup window, I probably waited 5mins for someone to retrieve my stuff, and I was able to conveniently park my car within feet of the door. First off, they are open for click and collect only. Submitting the order online was not exactly easy (shrug). It was telling us consistently there was no time slot available for pickup today and for us to try tomorrow. We've tried multiple times in the late afternoon the same day and then at late night as well until midnight with no luck. We also tried first thing in the morning the next day and still no luck. For some reason around mid-morning, a slot opened up for us. Bottom line, we've pretty much kept on trying to check out every hour through the day into the next day. I've felt lucky for sure and glad it worked out for us over the weekend too! Just simply EXCITED because we get to do something during this crazy time. And with with 3 boys ages 7 and under, we were happy to get out of the house and do something else besides walking/scooting around the park day in and day out. The line was long when we came to collect but it was flowing. Once they got our order number, it took them less than 10 mins to bring out items to the car to load. For some reason I have always enjoyed Ikea. Maybe it's the fun and interesting selections at good prices, maybe it's the good food, maybe it's that I'm fascinated with Sweden, or maybe it's that I like putting things together with terribly confusing instructions. Whatever reason, I was looking forward to visiting Ikea or things for our new home. We started with the little restaurant. Little veggie meatballs with rice and veggies for only $4! Yes please! Also got a side of fries (never pass on fries or pizza) and I had an amazing meal for little money. The little restaurant was modern looking and moved quickly. The food seemed fresh and made with quality ingredients. They have some fun drinks at the fountain drink area that you should definitely try. I really liked a pear water drink. The whole area feels like going to a foreign country to eat. I love America, but it's nice for a change every once in awhile. Then it was off to shopping. I'm not much of an interior designer so I greatly appreciate that they have little rooms decorated with their items. It helps me know what to do with them and get ideas. We found a bedroom set that we are going to go back for that seems like great quality and really cheap. We found a lot of other small things at good prices that we bought such as cabinet shelves, trashcans for under the sink, and various other things. There were a lot of cool things that we don't have any use for, and a lot of awesome things that maybe someday we would love to have. If you are buying large sets of things make sure you take a picture so that you can track down the other items that are in different areas and at the end when you grab your boxes. We also went on a special day where we got refunded for our lunch since we spent $100! So that was like a 10% coupon! We will definitely be back multiple times for things for our house. This was NOT possible due to my busy schedule with work and family. Then I was notified less than 24 hours after the scheduled date/time that my order was canceled. WTF! Forcing customers to come in on a specific date/time instead of being flexible or let the customer pick their available date/time slots... what kind of customer service is this crap in 2020.
