Huge struggle with returns. While there wad no line, the gentleman behind the deck was able to find some of my receipts but not all... which resulted in being unable to return some nordli tops. After 30m, it wasn't worth the time and effort for him to try and finds receipts even though they were clearly listed on my cc statement. I left the items there to be trashed as I'm not going to waste several more hours trying to track down receipts from 5 months ago. IKEA deserves 3 stars at best. I have never found the furniture to be better than crappy and most of the furniture is not cheap. I use the desks in my offices since they are not expensive. Prices went up. Quality (of whatever little there was before) has gone down. What's happening here? Return crew was difficult and not helpful. Don't mention you need to scan a QR code to be counted as "in line" until after 5 minutes of standing in an actual line. They made three pregnant women wait outside in the cloudy 64 degree weather (one with a young boy who was obviously cold). When I mentioned that they were cold to the employee and to see if they could go inside she full blown ignored me. Then when I made a point to get her attention Andrea (the employee) asked me if I was with them. I said no. And she said they can ask me if they're cold. I mentioned it to the people waiting and the pregnant woman said they really just don't care about anything! Then a few minutes later (after we had already been outside freezing for 30 min) another person came out and notified us that we could get text alerts and could wait in our cars. Shopped all day with my granddaughter . We love looking at all the cute room set ups . Then we enjoyed lunch at the IKEA cafeteria, everything was delicious!!! I love going to IKEA. This one has a large outdoor parking lot. The Pomona one I remember had a large parking garage. It's like any other IKEA where you go thru the giant showroom looking at all the neat furniture and accessories. I noticed they don't have all those little pencils anymore to write down what items you want. I usually just take a pic of the item number on my phone. Was here a week ago and waited in line for about 10 minutes to get in. Everything is inspiring at Ikea and we were looking for some rails for these square boxes because the rails were out of stock at the West Covina Ikea. This location is a bit crowded but it's like the closest thing to visiting a museum right now due to quarantine and the pandemic. This Ikea feels isolated even though it's right by South Coast Plaza. The parking lot is huge and there's really only one way to get in or out of here. It's also right off the 405 fwy. which is also convenient but feels far? Honestly will never go back after this. As someone who's been having more extreme anxiety tendencies, I couldn't recommend this place for anyone who is the same. It's crowded, hot, and everyone looked like they were born upset. Now I know that's not the Ikea's fault but it already was making me uneasy being there on the weekend. They always have one or two products that are really stand-out in terms of design and quality, but it seems like I'm not the only one that notices. Just take a snap of the code on the item you like in order to order it/pick it from the warehouse. Also, just before you reach the cash registers, to the right, is an As-Is section with very good buy on previously purchased/returned items or showrooms items they are selling at a huge discount! BUYERS BEWARE : We purchased this couch yesterday (STOCKSUND) for the kids play room. We stayed up late last night (while sick) to surprise the kids today. Literally within one hour of use the center frame SNAPPED! My 110lb nephew went to sit on it (like a normal person would) and SNAP! I have been on hold with IKEA for over 1 hour waiting for help. Customer service is a horrible horrible department. It's packed to the brim with waiting customers and the employees here make the DMV and the Post Office seem like the happiest place on earth. The staff in here is rude and arrogant. I couldn't believe the way they were treating people. The lady in front of me was missing the screws for her table... they only had enough screws in stock for three legs. She asked what she's supposed to do with a three legged table and the guy said "not my issue... NEXT". I had all the comeback scenarios in my head what I was going to say to this guy if he pulled the same thing with me, maybe George Costanza's "Jerk Store" zinger but luckily he had all the parts. Besides the the missing parts and a few stubborn screws the furniture we bought assembled easily and turned out great. They look nice, seem sturdy, and cost a lot less than the competition. You go up the escalators and you see toys and ..wow I forgot the order. If you need desk lamps, come to Ikea. If you need things to put on your area to decorate, come to Ikea. She came back with a generous accommodation. My wife completed a survey and of course complimented the woman. OK, even though we Las Vegans are FINALLY getting our own IKEA in our neck of the woods in 2016, we still managed to fit a visit in during our Cali weekend! Man I can help but love the ingenuity of this place. Cheap furniture. Modern looks. Cheap prices. I get excited when I get in the door and pick up the latest IKEA catalog, it's like going on a scavenger hunt! Oooohhhh....treasure! Kiddie needed a whole mess of things for her bedroom for the upcoming school year. Why would a kid need new furniture related items for school? Beats me too. But here we are at IKEA anyway! Apparently she made an entire list of things she 'needed' for her bedroom. Luckily, we only had a small 4-door rental car with us. Otherwise, I have no clue what she would have tried to stuff in our vehicle. A bed? A dresser? A kitchen sink? Actually I would invite the kitchen sink since it's probably one of only a dozen items you don't have to put together on your own with a football playbook manual. Less blood. Less sweat. Less tears. Less profanity. I don't even know where time goes when you step into an IKEA. It's like a black hole where hours go by and it seems like minutes. We literally rushed in, ate upstairs, walked around to fill our list, ate again downstairs, then got out. Time? Like over 2 friggin' hours!!! It's like stepping into a space-time continuum where you come out of the other end with a beard and a curious knowledge of the Planet of the Apes. IKEA sure does know how to layout a store though. Want that lamp? Want that side table? Take a sheet, take a pencil, jot the item number down. Proceed to the downstairs area that looks like Costco had a love child with Overstock.com's furniture section. But guess what? The damn system works and what you want is EXACTLY in the place it says it will be in. These guys at IKEA are anal. And I like...anal? No, no, no scratch that. It's like engineers and clean freaks with OCD met at a consortium. Organization people, organization! It works wonders. IKEA is so organized in fact, that thousands of people can visit at one time and still get out without much fanfare. It's like a well-oiled machine. That contains items with the coolest, most ridiculous names like DOMBAS. Or SENSUELL. Or FARTFULL. Or my favorite of all, SKANKA. And these Swedish folks are so damn smart, on the way down to the area where you get your furniture, they stuff the aisles with knick-knacks & crap you absolutely don't really need, and next thing you know you're out another $200. How the HELL did that large area rug, non-stick wok, step stool, cutting board, framed print, laundry hamper, throw pillow, mason jar set, and artificial palm tree end up in our cart?
