    Faux plants
    Ebony M.

IKEA Brooklyn is a large store with everything you would expect from IKEA. Needed to help a friend look for plant, and office accessories for their new office. Because I refuse to pay the higher prices for goods that have been marked up, and grossly inflated due to tariffs. I chose to window shop, and look at ordering faux plants from other sources that are tariff free. IKEA has great items for your home or office, although the prices are much higher that they used to be. 5/3/25

Super fun spot to spend a day! there is a very convenient bus that takes you to Ikea (though i've also heard there is a free ferry). It's massive inside and you can spend hours looking at and trying the furniture, as well as a great spot for stocking your kitchen. We got a bit peckish after browsing for a while and also really enjoyed the restaurant and swedish meatballs. There's a ton of novelty in going to Ikea and will definitely be spending more time here!

Brooklyn IKEA is in Red Hook, Bklyn, but has all the amenities of any other ikea. I live in Manhattan, so I took the 40 min ferry across the Hudson River. It's faster than taking the train & #61 bus to the last stop which will take an 1 hour 1/2 ride based on where ur coming from. Ohhh, by the way the Ferry is FREE from the Westside - W. 44th St Ferry Terminal. Or u can drive & it's Free parking.

It's an ikea so I have no expectations for service. This one is generally well organized, and clean. The restaurant there can be a bit slow depending on the time of day so you have to be patient. If there's any sort of price discrepancies, even if you were to take a picture of the price tag employees generally were not helpful or they said conflicting things so it wasn't even worth my time to dispute. I am willing to deal with that though to get reasonably priced and or cheap furniture or knickknacks to fill my apartment. It is better to go there on a weekday. It's not so crowded.

It's IKEA. You get what you pay for. It's for those who are transitioning and only need this piece of furniture for a year or two. I came here for a bed for a toddler, so we aren't going to use it for long. Some of the beds that are less than $100 were very poorly made. It is solid wood, but without varnish or finishing, it will not last very long. The IKEA staff varies from being not helpful at all to very helpful. YMMV. We had lunch there out of convenience. It is cafeteria style. The wait on line was ridiculous because they only had one lane open. It took me 30 min to order in a cafeteria. The food was not as bad as it could have been. I got the swedish meatballs, salmon and pulled pork. The salmon was actually quite good and the tot ate the whole fillet. The fries were surprisingly crisp as well.

Free ferry on the weekend make sure to check their schedule. It was a nice ride from manhattan and into Brooklyn directly in front of ikea parking lot. There is a play land section if your kids want to hangout there instead of shopping with you for 30 minutes. There is also a food court upstairs. Meatballs chicken tenders French fries Mac and cheese salmon chocolate cake. Very kids and adult friendly. You order your food and then pay. Then find yourself a seat. There might be a wait during the weekend if you drop by during lunch hours but there are plenty of seatings. IKEA has a lot of furnitures and home display and DIY items. Very affordable items and cool to just browse around on a cold day. After check out there is also hot dog of $1! Love their meatballs as always with the gravy and lingonberry jam.

From 42nd St subway, can walk or take the M42 bus (free xfer) to get to the west side pier, where a lot of water transport boats are docked. Didn't know of this area until now. Went once to the Bklyn IKEA by car and just read about the free ferry on weekends, schedule runs til 9/1/24. The views were really the highlight - from midtown, around the Battery park area to Wall St stop, Governor's Island, Statue of Liberty, and NJ side. Bring a water bottle bec it does get hot under the sun. We got off and an easy walk through the parking lot and we were there. To the restaurant first on the upper floor. Seating is more spread out, with some outdoor views which was nice. Menu is same as other locations. No decaf coffee (I usually make it iced). Store area is not as large as the Long Island location. The showroom had a lot of covered sections so wasn't a good day for that so just went downstairs to the marketplace. Had to think of how much we were buying bec we will be taking the train home. I was ready with a few reusable bags but got a nice one to put cushions which I got. Planned to get to the dock earlier after seeing a long line before but wanted to get a drink from the snack shop. At 5:30pm, they had almost nothing available for food/drinks- no fountain drinks or water. Vending machine was broken too. Restrooms need better maintenance. Took the last ferry and the line wasn't bad. Views were nicer with the sun going down and air was cooler.

IKEA has great prices, and although it requires a subway and bus for me to get there, it is worth the trip. The IKEA shuttle starts in the afternoon, so getting there earlier on an MTA bus is an option. IKEA member benefits include a cafe item on birthday, free coffee and a generous birthday coupon. It is huge, so if not relying on signage to locate items, I suggest asking staff. Many times I arrived at checkout to find items usually displayed there had been moved, requiring a long trek back into store. Once finished shopping, you can check out the dock next door, see photo.

I enjoyed this location better than the Hicksville Long Island due to the sheer size, easier parking and just the overall friendliness of the staff and patron. Even better is nearby Red hook there are so many good restaurants to visit after a day of shopping. I especially like the cafeteria where there is a Clear view of Manhattan.

When we went on a Sunday afternoon it was not that busy. There are lots of options, prices have increased, but that is life these days. We didn't buy anything but it was worth a look.

It's an IKEA! Only difference is this one is in Red Hook BRKLN, and has a view of the Manhattan skyline from the bistro. I brought my laptop to get some things done using their free WiFi. Sat on a cushy couch in the cafe lobby sipping my free endless teas as an IKEA family card member. Had the lemon cod, mashed potatoes with gravy and peas. When I finished eating, I did a little shopping. Inexpensive kitchen and bedding, art, candles, mirrors, plants to peruse. Same as any other store. The model kitchens are my favorites, always Imagining which styles I'd put in my next home. After day dreaming a bit, I finished the outing with a warm cinnamon bun from the cafe by the checkouts. I walked out to catch the B57 which was serendipitously waiting right out front, and will take me to steps from my door. I'll be back!

Are they trying to hypnotize me? Getting dizzy looking at this.... Placed an order & got this for 10 minutes!! loading sign icon

IKEA - Also know that they invite only some customers to their special "sneak preview special events" at their studio space in Manhattan. One star - recent orders were delayed, others unavailable at the store. I'm still trying to complete my Ikea kitchen, they're out of stock of some of the matching pieces I need. I sign up for email alerts, and they reply I need to sign up again because they're still out of stock. Ikea is too difficult to deal with quite honestly.

OMG! The place was designed well! There is a flow and even shortcuts to help you navigate this "beast" of a store. Huge it is and I do not think you can see it all in one day! Don't go with expectations of high-end furniture! This is not Raymour and Flannigan! Instead think of innovation and lots of well-priced items for kitchen, bathroom and living room! The showrooms give you ideas and inspiration! I like how the simple yet innovative ideas are created into products for the home or apartment! These are not long term furniture or furnishings but great if you are looking to decorate at a good price and then switch out the furniture because the flimsiness can wear out and because you can at affordable prices without feeling the guilt! Some well built furniture got phased out like old wooden entertainment centers that lasted forever but unfortunately the standard tv sizes all changed and could no longer fit the new televisions. The IKEA products are great when you don't need long term furniture as styles also change. There are also lots of YouTube hacks of IKEA furniture! There is a cafe and a market place where you can buy food and eat using kiosks to order! A huge self-service area is structured to get the packaged furniture and a section to checkout! IKEA has a free weekend ferry! They must have done away with the free shuttle because I didn't see it rolling around but took the bus in. Various transportation options allow you to visit from different boroughs without a car! Due to long lines, I hear weekends are extremely stressful at the checkout! Allow for extra time!

From start to finish, the experience has been a joy. So typical of NYC apartments in older buildings, the kitchen was awkward in shape and the walls frequently not square and sometimes not plumb, and the solution in our case necessitated custom cabinetry. The quality of the cabinets is outstanding, the plywood components being able to be disassembled when they would not fit through openings, and reassembled in-situ. Each piece was meticulously crafted, the materials used are top-notch, and the finish is flawless, adding an elegant touch to our kitchen, bathroom and bedroom-built-ins. When the original, functional hardware selected by myself for some of our most unique challenges did not perform as expected, the team at KF Kitchen Cabinets worked with me to find alternative solutions and we solved the issues together. The team at KF Kitchen Cabinets was incredibly professional and friendly throughout the entire process. They took the time to understand our vision and offered valuable suggestions to enhance the design. Communication was seamless, and if I were to choose one word to describe the experience it would be "collaborative". The new cabinets have completely transformed our kitchen, bathroom and bedroom making them more functional and aesthetically pleasing spaces. On the day we were to move back in, we discovered that our belongings in our storage facility had succumbed to water damage from a roof-leak. All of our most prized solid walnut furniture, built by the Amish to my own designs some 12 years prior all sustained water and mold-damage. Due to trust and my deep satisfaction working with Jason and the team at KF Kitchen Cabinets, I asked them to provide a quote to refurbish all of it and submit to our insurance company, and eventually this was accepted and KF Kitchen Cabinets restored, delivered and installed all of it for us. It looks better today due to a few modifications than when it was first made. The more I worked with them the more I wanted to work with them; to that end they build two additional cabinetry items to make our office/computer area neater/tidier to my specific designs/sketches. If you're looking for outstanding cabinetmaking services, whether kitchen, bathroom or 'other', I highly recommend KF Kitchen Cabinets. Their exceptional craftsmanship and collaborative customer service set them apart, and they truly exceeded my expectations. Thank you, KF Kitchen Cabinets for turning our renovated spaces from the old and clunky, into a sleek, contemporary and efficient reality! We love it and I have received numerous compliments from my design and architecture friends and associates as well as our neighbors and we could not be happier. I would not hesitate in wholeheartedly recommending them.
