    Adeline Food Hall pickup area

For a kitchen "regularly voted Best Greek in the East Bay", I have to say their take-out option on Adeline Street is incredibly disappointing. Ikaros to Go cooks out of the ghost kitchen of Adeline Food Hall and tastes exactly like how you'd imagine something made in a cafeteria that pumps out a dozen different quick cuisines. The fries, gyro meat, vegetables, and even tzatziki sauce taste like they were prepped in a far off factory before being frozen-thawed to go out for delivery. The fries were thick and bland, the meat was clearly pre-cut significantly earlier in the evening (since when is gyro meat not shaven from a rotisserie directly before going out?), and the bell peppers were not only unexpected for a traditional gyro but also dry and cracked around the edges (see picture). Even the tzatziki sauce tasted like it was apologizing for something -- maybe that it moonlights as a salad dressing for another ghost restaurant in the hall? I might forgive the generic ready-made meal quality if it weren't for the $20 price tag (mind you, I picked it up myself to avoid any additional delivery fees -- wild to think people are paying even more for this gyro). I have to hope that the quality of this gyro is limited to their ghost kitchen and not the same one that Ikaros serves at their dine-in restaurant. Overall, I would not recommend Ikaros to Go. I truly try not to leave one star reviews unless I really, really mean it -- and for this place, I genuinely do. Save yourself the trip to the soulless chamber of the Adeline Food Hall locker room.

Ikaros @ Adeline Food Hall 5333 Adeline St Oakland, CA 94608 The Ikaros restaurant in Oakland is now "Ikaros To Go" at the Adeline Food Hall. On Saturday, I had a chance to try this new ghost kitchen. I ordered: - Ikaros Gyro Sandwich, with Lamb and Beef - House Salad - Greek Potato Salad The Gyro was a bit small. But I found it easy to eat. The lamb/beef was tender and tasty. The Gyro was served on a pita with tomatoes, red onions, and tzatziki. The optional side I picked was a Greek Potato salad. The House Salad was large and came with all kinds of good stuff like: Mixed Greens, tomatoes, cucumbers, feta, red onions, and Kalamata olives. Dressing provided was a balsamic vinaigrette. Pretty good sized healthy salad. Overall a good first experience, and the food quality was excellent. Takeout or delivery only, no dining room or table service.

My wife's 70th birthday happened at the end of January, 2026…read more We have eaten at Troy many times and always enjoyed the entire experience, so she decided to investigate Troy's catering options so there would be meat and vegetables options to suit all our guests' preferences, with the obvious bonus that all the choices would be equally appealing because Mediterranean food is awesome! Husam was our main contact and assisted us with making our choices, and Iris was very helpful in ensuring that our pickup time was adjusted to fit the busy schedule that we had on the morning of the party. She also confirmed our request for extra Red Chili and Jalapeno Garlic sauce. For those curious, the Red Chili sauce is the milder of the two, but both are savory and great on almost anything! Here is what we ordered, which was anticipated to feed 40 guests: 1 Full Tray of Moussaka 1 Full Tray of Pastitsio 2 Combo Appetizer Trays 1 Chicken Souvlaki 1 Beef Souvlaki 1 Lamb Souvlaki It was an immense amount of food, and it was all DELICIOUS. The souvlaki disappeared first, and both full trays of the Moussaka and Pastitsio received significant dents! The appetizer trays had large falafel balls that were thankfully cut in half, dolmas, a mountain of pita bread, and multiple pint containers, two each of hummus, baba ganoush, tzatziki, and the Red Chili and Jalapeno Garlic sauce. The pickup from Troy was a breeze, and we absolutely lucked out by getting a parking spot directly in front of the restaurant on Solano, which anyone who lives locally will tell you is no small feat on a Saturday morning! Husam kindly helped me carry everything out to our car. My one suggestion to anyone who is ordering catering, especially if you get a half or full tray of either the Moussaka and/or Pastitsio, bring a baking sheet to support each tray. While the trays are made from thick aluminum, the weight will make the bottom sag a little, and it will likely be too hot to support with your bare hands. All our guests raved about all the food, and we are still happily enjoying leftovers of everything for breakfast, lunch, and dinner for a week and after! Husam, thank you and Iris SO much for all your help! We are deeply grateful, and we look forward to seeing both of you again! "Zoi mas!"

We started with the complimentary lentil soup, which was flavorful and comforting. I ordered the hummus and falafel. The hummus was light and delicious, and the falafel was the best I've ever had! It was fried to order and so crispy and hot that I've been thinking about it ever since. My family ordered the Greek salad, chicken pomegranate plate, and the berry mint lemonade, and we enjoyed all of it. We even found ourselves talking about my Lebanese grandmother, who passed away three years ago, and it was nice to feel brought together by the food. As a Disney nerd, I also love that WALL-E is named after Wally's! There's even a poster paying tribute to the film. My one drawback with this spot is the ambiance. While the staff was extremely friendly, there is very minimal seating, and it's attached to a bar. It's definitely loud and not the most family-friendly, so I would recommend ordering delivery or takeout. We actually ended up DoorDashing it for dinner the next day because it was that good! We will definitely be back!
