This IHOP has terrible service. The place was completely empty when we went and the employees still took forever to give us menus, then return to take our orders, then give us the check. They didn't take normal cues like closing our menus and setting them aside and we had to ask an employee to come over so we could order and then for our check after waiting a long time. Our server took our orders wrong and mumbled when we confirmed our order instead of confirming herself and ended up giving us the completely wrong order. Every time I come to this ihop it's a bad experience. When I went for the first time with a friend, you could tell the waitress was very drained. She openly expressed how tired she was & was breathing heavily & sweating bullets the whole time! On top of that, when we asked for a refill she SAT DOWN at the table next to us & told us to "hold on" because she had to "get herself together". I let it slide because it was a little busy that day & I thought maybe she could have had a medical condition. But atleast clean yourself up a little or wipe your face off. The thought of sweat bullets dripping into my pancakes isn't too appetitizing. I went again a couple days ago with some friends after a movie (it was the only restaurant open at the time & was nearby). Prepare to smell a faint odor when you walk in . My friend described it as a "dirty mop water" smell & If you come late night prepare to be greeted by a guard dressed in all black with a gun on her hip! (Not by a waitress or hostess). She seated us at our table which was odd (where are the hostess??) & told us our waiter would be right with us. 10 minutes passed and no waiter. Once she realized that we weren't being waited on she got the manager's attention. He acted as if he was surprised to see us sitting there (he was bussing the table right next to us for the several minutes & looked at us several times). He then proceeded to take our order. (Where are the waiters??) Oh yeah too busy singing rap songs with some other customers. The food came out in a timely manner & it wasn't all too bad. We were handed our check & we waited several minutes for a waiter to come take our money. No one ever came so we were under the impression that you have to pay at the front desk like at some other ihops. However, as soon as we got up, the guard bolted over to us questioning us on our payment as if we were gonna skip out on the bill! The manager finally walked up to us & took our money so we left. But the icing on the cake was the RATS we saw running in and out of the bushes in front of the restaurant as soon as we stepped out! As you can imagine I almost lost my food. NEVER AGAIN! read more

This place honestly deserves -5 stars. During my visit yesterday evening I went to use the restroom upon arrival the restroom was filthy and smelled of urine, feces and maybe backed up sewage. There was toilet paper everywhere... needless to say I didn't use it. I went back to the counter to be seated, there were 5 empty hand sanitizer bottles on the counter so I had to dig in my bag for my own. The host didn't even greet me or my daughter. I sat down where she guided us to and realized the host was actually my waitress, who expected me to know what we wanted immediately. The food came quickly but was plated terribly my daughters eggs and sausages were under the pancakes and the butter on my pancakes fell onto the table as soon as she placed the plate onto the table. I boxed my food immediately bc I started smelling the stench from the restroom from where I was seated. (Might I add I was seated right outside of the kitchen) My daughter did the same. We waited about 55 minutes before we saw the waitress again to recieve the check. I am not usually the type to complain so I paid it and left. The boxes with our food in them are in the garbage and we went elsewhere for dinner. I will not frequent IHOP ever again. Disgustingly terrible cleanliness and service. read more

Would be nice if the person at the counter who is responsible for answering the phones and taking to go orders actually do her job lol. (Normally a female, same female really each time I go). She likes to act friendly but she is not very productive lol...She likes to leave the phone off the hook so when you call you get a busy signal. I dialed one time in the restaurant, nobody was on the phone and I could see the phone lol...however I got a busy signal lol..Phone did not ring despite no one was on it. And it wasn't even busy! lol...I feel sorry for the franchise owner because he is losing out on money big time...I mean to go orders can mean a lot more orders/money coming in. The day I called while I was in the restaurant after placing my order just to see if I would hear the phone ring...I was astonished. I mean it was slow in there...No reason to have the phone off the hook..However, the IHOP in Nottingham, even during peak hours, busy times, I have never had an issue with them not answering the phone/refusing to take my order over the phone. At one point, there was a girl saying you had to come in to place your order lol after answering the phone! Defeats the purpose of offering to go orders...where you want to place ahead of time and by the time you get there it is done and you can go...hence IHOP 'N Go. read more

Came in for breakfast. The host was not around to be seen for over 10 minutes. There was one person waiting before me and 4 other parties waiting. No one acknowledged us. The hostess finally showed up and I was a little upset. I mentioned to her that I waited over 10 minutes and all she said was I'll take your name. There was no apology made. Finally she found us a table and waited for several minutes before we got acknowledged. The waitress came by and asked us for drinks. We ordered coffee and water. Waited almost 10 minutes this time and still got no drinks yet. Then the waitress came back and ask for our food order And still no water and coffee yet. Finally we got our coffee and water. Luckily the waitress was courteous and I'll allow for that. Waiting for our food seems to be an eternity. However the food was good and the service was good as well. The problem of this restaurant is the waiting. Came in at 10:50 am and didn't finish until 12:25 pm. There is no reason to come for breakfast and spend over a hour and a half. I would have given a 4 star rating if it wasn't for the amount of time spent in the restaurant. if i could give zero stars, i would. dont go here. the hash browns were hard as nails, half of the food was cold when they brought it out. the bacon wasnt cooked all the way. my wife ordered seasoned fries, they brought out regular fries. he took the plate back into the kitchen, and sprinkled season salt on them, then brought them back out. i kid you not. we complained about the food, then a customer threatened to throw her hot tea on us because were 'holding up her food'. i will never go back and i advise everyone to stay away read more

Where to start, the hostess seems confused but we were seated right away and it was pretty much downhill from there just by observation there didn't appear to be one competent person working on the wait staff at least not the four in my area. King Rey is moaning and mumbling about something at the back register loud enough that he can be heard griping, the slim sister is talking loudly about everything it seems meeting somebody ion the parking lot, calling the police to get their money ? one other server slim with red hair is "arguing" with the manager who doesn't appear to want to handle a problem at a table. Now we get to Aaron who based on the actions and attitudes of the other three is like the ace of the staff...NOT. Your apron was FILTHY and your are waiting tables in a baseball hat turned backwards. I had to ask you for everything cream , more sugar, you never bought hot coffee that I asked for. we didn't have silver ware and when I ask for it you bring one even though there are 2 of us, when you bring that on the fork is dirty, I had to ask for a straw you bought the wrong food , you bought the food piece by piece my eggs her pancakes then her pancakes and my eggs. you were trying hard and you clearly have not been trained well but there was no way I could tip you on that service. The whole place needs to step there game up front of the house training is desperately needed from the manger to the busser. This was a nightmare in the middle of the day. This Ihop can be iffy. I've went multiple times with a wide range of people and I've seen better. The first time I went was with schoolmates when they had the all you can eat pancakes. We went around 8, so of course it was packed. We got seated and served quickly, and our food came fast and was good also. The only thing i didn't really like was that they won't split a tables bill. I've tried going multiple times after because I saw that they were 24/7, only to find out that they weren't. The hours on the sign lied, much to my disappointment. I crave those Strawberry Banana Pancakes in the middle of the night. I recently went back two monhs ago with my partner and I was disgusted. We came in at 10 that morning and it was rather empty. There was a horrible, rancid smell lingering, but we stayed. We should have left that minute! The hostess was behind the computer popping her gum in her managers face, so we weren't seated for a little while, even though they clearly saw us. We were finally seated in a torn up booth taped back together with clear tape, and we ended up getting another ghetto worker. We did our drink orders, she came and slammed them down. She took our order, left, and came back within eight minutes with our food. My partner's eggs were cold, my hasbrowns were torched, hers were perfect (how does that happen?!). My pancakes were pretty soggy and had more strawberry juice compared to strawberries and bananas! While we were eating, we heard the manager on his phone discussing his personal life with the same hostess, and we heard everything that the ladies were saying because they were yelling at each other across the restaurant. Totally unprofessional! We went some time after that (their idea), except this time, we were seated quickly by the ghetto hostess poppng the gum and playing in her weave. The rancid smell still lingered in the restaurant, but we still stayed again. Bad decision! Our waitress came shortly after we were seated and as i was ordering one of the special drinks, she proceeded to tell us they were out of it. How are you guys out of it and it's 10 am?? When we placed our order, she told me they were out of the Strawberry Cheesecake Panackes, so i settled for my usual pancakes. She rushed my order and proceeded to take her sweet old time taking my partners order, flirting with her the whole time! When we got our food, we were both disgusted. The little fruit that I had disappointed me. My banana slices were old and brown, the strawberries looked like the leftover bits of strawberries from days before, so i basically got plain pancakes with crap pieces of fruit on it. My partner got a burger and it was LOADED with onions! There were more onions than burger and bun combined, and once she scraped off 3/4 of the onion, there was basically nothing left. She didn't finish it and neither did I, but the waitress gladly made sure she checked on my partner as often as possible. I guess only one of us mattered to her! Needless to say, between the disgusting smell inside of the restaurant, the ugly interior and torn up seats, and the ghetto waitresses/ hostesses, we won't be returning. Waking up the day after Halloween, my girlfriend and I decided to finally get out of bed and look for something to eat around 3 in the afternoon. We finally settled on IHOP in search for some breakfast for lunch. Hesitant about the one star review we decided to go anyway because it was only a 5 minute drive from my girlfriends dorm at Towson University. Horrible decision. As soon as you walk in the restaurant, as my girlfriend described it smelt of "piss and syrup" as well as previously mentioned, dirty mop water. We walk in the door and the hostess is helping someone with a carryout order leaving no one to greet or seat guests. She tells us she'll be with us shortly after a couple minutes of us awkwardly standing around. We watch as she continues to struggle on the computer, and eventually spins the computer around so that the CUSTOMER can try to put the order in herself. After 2 other couples come in the building and the one finally demands to be seated, we are finally sat by the hostess as she casually texts on her phone. We were then sat at a filthy table covered in syrup. Awesome. Our waitress comes over and she's an older lady who isn't very familiar with "personal space." She hands us the menus that our hostess didn't provide and within 5 seconds asks for our orders immediately after handing us our menus. I flip to the back to see the drinks and tell her the drinks and she didn't write anything down. Little did we know this would be the pinnacle of the experience that would only get worse from here. She comes back and takes our order. My girlfriend orders the "Cinnistack Pancakes" and the waitress, unfamiliar with the menu, literally jumps into the booth with her to see what she's talking about and is less than 6 inches from my girlfriends face. We came to the conclusion that she may have had some sort of mental disability so we let it go, and tried not to think much of it. She comes back 10 minutes later, and says they're all out of cinnamon. Are you kidding? An IHOP, out of cinnamon? So she returns with my order and then retakes my girlfriends order. She brings me regular pancakes when I asked for chocolate chips, completely forgetting my hashbrowns, sausage, and eggs...My girlfriends plate finally arrives and they tell her that "they're looking for chocolate chips in the back for her." The chocolate chips never arrived. Meanwhile, a server behind us is screaming at the manager about how the bus boy sucks and they fight for maybe 3-5 minutes before dispersing. At the same time, the other side of the booths begin to smell like bleach. The table in front of us complain, thankfully. This was when we got a wild answer from the manager. He tells them, "It isn't bleach, it's sanitizer. We don't use bleach here..." It was obviously bleach from the smell. Finally after trying to find our waiter, she notices I am uncomfortable with my meal. She asked if it was the wrong order and I told her what was wrong with our meals as to which she replied "Oh I must have forgot to write it down inside my head..." What does that even mean? After bringing me several random orders I never asked for she finally brings me everything, all undercooked, burnt, & runny. We have to drown everything in syrup to try to stomach it. After several minutes the waitress comes back reeking of liquor and tells us that "the cooks are mean and mess up people's orders on purpose." That was her excuse for messing my order up... But she assured me they had a "reputation" to keep up. That was obvious. I wish it was possible to give this place negative stars. It was horrible. You're better off taking the 14 minute trip to the IHOP in Cockysville. read more
