Food is haphazard at best. The prices are ridiculous for what you get. There are many other options nearby.

Stopped there for lunch on my break from work. They have a pretty good burger and very nice service. Wait time was relatively short.

Izakaya 68 on Shawan Road absolutely nails the feel of a real Japanese Izakaya. The atmosphere is…read morewarm, lively, and authentic--exactly what you'd expect if you stepped into a neighborhood spot in Japan. One of the highlights (especially for families) is the robot cat servers. They're a hit with everyone at the table, from kids to adults, and they genuinely add to the fun without feeling gimmicky. The food is excellent and checks all the Izakaya boxes: yakitori, gyoza, and my personal favorite--takoyaki--are all done right. On top of that, they also offer sushi, ramen, and full entrée dishes, so there's something for every appetite. Drink options are just as solid, with Japanese sodas, green tea, and a good selection of Japanese alcoholic beverages. This is a great spot for the whole family and an especially awesome place to host a birthday dinner for teens. We brought a 13- and 14-year-old group, and it was a perfect balance of fun, great food, and a relaxed environment. Highly recommended if you want good Japanese food and a memorable experience.

We happened to be in the area and really stopped in on a whim…read more The place is very well decorated inside and reminds me of ramen shops and festival booths for a night market. My only complaint is that all of the ramen broth is pork as I would have loved to have some ramen but I have a pork allergy. That said, the udon broth was very tasty and had a clean but bold flavor. It is probably one of my favorite broths I've had. You use the QR code on the table to order and the robot brings you your food. Our server also helped put stuff on our table from the robot. It's a very cute robot and sings about people being in the way as well as your table number. Everything we had was cooked well or assembled great. I really want to come back and try some of their other sushi rolls. The salmon belly was torched just right and the mayo complimented it well. The yellowtail was unique and the sesame paired well with it along with the pepper. I wasn't a big fan of the beef skewer because it was a bit sweet. The inari sushi has spicy mayo in it and I enjoyed it. The shumai stays hot for a while so just be careful. The green tea stayed warm throughout our date and was nice and hot when it first came out. The prices are incredibly reasonable and I felt the fish was very fresh. Our server answered all of our questions, which is how I ended up with udon instead of ramen. My spouse said his curry was delicious and he devoured it.

Amazing experience!…read more New Generation Hot Pot was my first foray into the world of hot pot. Essentially you pick out your base, vegetables and proteins and noodle style. Those items are placed in your own pot which cooks in front of you. New Generation also offers a bar with lots of different self serve sauces and additional flavorings. The waitress assigned to my wife and I was very friendly. She took the time to go through the process with my wife and I. She offered many suggestions, answered our questions and was very attentive. She cheered us on if we were debating something and essentially was like "do it". Since it is all you can eat, she kept coming back, checking in and taking additional orders from us. The prices were not cheap but considering it is all you can eat and they have some ingredients that are a bit atypical, I didn't mind paying the price.

Great Hot Pot Spot just outside of Baltimore…read more Pros: Check out this revolving Hot Pot place, sides keep coming on a conveyor belt! The food quality is awesome, we loved the tender beef, chicken, and fatty beef. The crab balls were good too! I loved the Pork Bone Broth. Everything was DELICIOUS! The waitress was ON TOP OF THINGS! Constantly helping us if we needed anything and open to suggestions of her favorite items. Free Ice Cream at the end!!! Cons: While the sauces were awesome, you have to create your own. They have suggestions, but it is hard to figure out how to make them. The hot bar was sitting out for awhile (fries, sweet and sour chicken, fried rice) and wasn't too hot.

Despite it being busy due to it being valentines, our servers were very observant and caring! The food: don't get me started... absolute fire spot to go to if you have the munchies is all I'll say. The Peking duck wrap was phenomenal! We ordered the half duck, and it unexpectedly came with this soup. I don't know what magic powder they put in there but it tasted GREAT. It usually isn't a busy place, but I was still surprised we could get a table peak hours of Valentine's Day without a reservation. Absolutely no complaints here ;)

Excellent evening visit to Red Pepper Sichuan!…read more We had some difficult decisions at first because we flipped through the entire menu and didn't see many vegetarian/vegan options. With the help of the server, we were able to select four menu items. These ranged from excellent to very good. The star of the show was Red Pepper's Mapo Tofu. I loved the garlicky and spicy flavors. They meshed well together. I also ordered the Deep Fried Spicy Green Peppers. I was warned by the server that they were really spicy. She wasn't kidding. I'm still working on them days later because I can't eat too many at once. My wife ordered the Mixed Vegetable Dry Pot. This was very good, although there was a spice in it that I wasn't fond of. About every four bites I could taste it. She also ordered the pan fried vegetable dumplings. We loved these. Each dish cost about 15 dollars so we left with a sixtish dollar bill. But the sizes made this seem reasonable as we took some of everything as leftovers. Definitely fans of this place and we will be back.

We were seated on what appeared to be the enclosed patio. It looked like they probably have the ability to partially open it up in the nicer months. The server was friendly and attentive and explained the menu to us. When choosing an entree we were able to have a soup or salad and dessert. If you didn't want the dessert you could order soup and salad. I ordered the beef short rib and had the beet salad as an appetizer. He had the lamb chops with a Caesar salad and Maryland crab soup. The appetizers were good and he enjoyed his lamb chops. My short rib was not that great. The meat had a ton of fat in it and overall was not my favorite. Short rib is something I order often from various restaurants.

This place really surprised me on how good it actually was!…read moreA nice find in this area. We were visiting, after a day of visiting the National Mall. This restaurant is pretty large - there are several dining rooms and spaces available. They sat us pretty fast considering we had a reasonably sized party. You could definitely bring a party here - they have many rooms available. Next, service was quick and prompt. You have to order steak and ramen through your server. I recommend both! Both were of good quality and my aunts in particular loved the seafood ramen. Of course, the main draw of a buffet is the food! The food here is pretty good! They have a good amount of variety and keep the quality good as well. They offer a lot of sushi options, and some hot food options as well. Their crab was excellent too - I haven't seen any good buffets recently with crab offerings. They also offer milk tea in the fridge and ice cream for desserts. The milk tea is pretty good - the thai tea was my personal favorite. Overall, a nice place to grab some sushi at an affordable price.
