Absolutely disgusting experience. Staff was rude from the start, refused to give us real silverware, had and then had the nerve to make a 9/11 joke--completely unacceptable, especially since my uncle died in 9/11. On top of that, they threatened to kick us out because "not enough people were eating." Zero professionalism, zero empathy, zero respect. This place should be ashamed. Never coming back.

You can't go wrong with a short stack of pancakes at IHOP, and this location is no different.  Our pancakes were fluffy and golden brown and were delivered fresh off the grill. I was happy to find that the IHOP strawberry syrup is still available; if you've never tried it before, it's yummy and will make you feel like a kid!

How bad can it get? Well GeeZus what is this? I ordered the egg white omelet! When the cook is this bad you never come back!

You know what?? I can't be upset with anyone but myself because my experience here the first time told me that I shouldn't had never came back.. First off the server was cool and apologetic and simply doing her job. she wasn't the cook.. Anyways I order the Steak and eggs breakfast that came with pancakes.. My request EGGS over easy. white well cooked. Steak medium rare and pancakes hot and butter not frozen.. Well non of that happen... Eggs came out whites super runny Steak came out looking like someone cooked it on a hot tin roof in the middle of August in the backwoods of Alabama. The pancakes came out just like they always do at IHOP, Luke warm and cold butter that rips the pancake when putting it on the pancakes. Back to the SteakSteak, I kindly let my server know that the Steak didn't look appealing, it looked as if it was tan with no flavor.. So she took it back and came back about 3 minutes later??? Same results but a little more shaded. Anyways I just ask to allow me to pay for the pancakes and coffee...I didn't eat the eggs or steak.. I know that IHOP isn't a Steak house but please don't bring me a piece of meat and tell me it's a steak.. Never again will I endure time wasting of going into this IHOP again... I don't want anything free nor do I want to talk to anyone.

Not a lot of fluff here. It it what it is. I have never understood why a table has to be cleared or cleaned after the previous diners left long before me. The fewer the diners the slower waitstaff seems to get. But I didn't come for fine dining so I was pleased that the BLT and especially the onion rings came out hot with very little wait. I should have combined the sparse BLT ingredients onto one half. I felt like I was eating dry toast. The onion rings redeemed the meal so not a bad meal

In A Tale of Two Cities Charles Dickens wrote: "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of light, it was the season of darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair." That's how we felt when we decided to have some American breakfast confort food at IHOP in Pflugerville, Texas. It was an unusually cold Friday night. School was canceled because of the painful cold and plague. We had 3 kids with us all day while we had to work. Nothing sounded better than paying a visit to the International House of Pancake. Três leches pancakes, crapes, chicken and waffles, strawberry French toast. Nothing sounded better after a long cold week and our first outing after recovering from Covid. We also had another family with us. Friends and delicious food, what could go wrong? But life was not willing to award us with the food that built America. When we arrive they had informed us we would have to wait 20 minutes and they may not be able to seat us together. I let them know that we could sit in separate booths or break up the party. After waiting 40 minutes with 7 children in our group they told us they could not seat our party. Not separately and not if we waited. We inquired if the people behind us would be seated and they said they would have to wait. We said we would wait. They said they still would not seat us. We asked why they did not tell us at the beginning or before we waited with 7 children for 40 minutes and they said they, "tried to tell us." When I realized I was not going to have pancakes AND that I was rejected by IHOP... I felt layers of unsettling emotion, a sting of melancholy and confusion, and a great sense of weariness sweeped over me sucking my energy with it. Will my family and friends still love me, I asked myself. Luckily we were able to find a place to eat nearby

The burger was incredible- fresh, flavorful, and those smash patties really hit the spot. Everything tasted amazing once I got home. The order was ready in under 10 minutes, the staff was super friendly, and the price was really affordable. I didn't check for seating, but this is the kind of burger you can enjoy anywhere, even in your car. I'll definitely be back!

He saw a video…read moreon social media talking about Buddha Burger having some of the best smash burgers in the Austin area, so we made the trek to the Valero gas station in Pflugerville that houses the burger joint to give it a shot. As we walked in, we were surprised to see a pretty long line. Mere seconds later, the entire line dissipated because it was all delivery drivers. The amount of DoorDash and Uber Eats orders coming out of Buddha Burger is insane, and for a burger joint, they seemed pretty on top of getting orders out in a timely manner. My buddy placed his order first, getting the California Classic and their Chocolate Toffee Cookie. I ordered the Big Buddha with their poutine purely out of curiosity. In about 10 minutes, both of our orders were ready. Inside the gas station, there is one large kitchen island style table where everyone can sit. The Big Buddha was good. It didn't wow me by any means, but it was solid. I think the hype around it being the best smash burger in the area led to some disappointment because it was fine. It didn't make me melt or blow my taste buds away. The California Classic my buddy ordered was also good, but nothing extreme. As for the poutine, I do not see myself ordering it again. Ever. The cheese curds were not as melty as I would hope, even with hot gravy poured on top, and by the time we got to it, the fries were completely soggy and lacked any crispness. I know poutine is inherently soggy, but this just did nothing for me. Maybe I'm not a poutine guy and that could be on me, but I'm just being honest. Neither of us cared for it. We split the cookie, which was huge but toothpick thin. We both thought it was okay, but a little too sweet. Not worth ordering again. We decided to dine in because I think food is best eaten immediately after it's ready. While waiting, we watched the kitchen operate and it honestly felt like a new hire was being berated at every given moment. The staff seemed to be working like they were under Carmy from The Bear. As someone just sitting and waiting for food, it felt awkward to witness and made me a little uncomfortable. I know most of their business comes from delivery apps so this probably isn't seen often, but for a place called Buddha Burger, there was no awakened state from the staff. There was no peace and no compassion. It felt weirdly hard-ass while we were there. I hate feeling lied to by a social media video. I've become weary of most especially if they get special treatment and don't talk about the plus and minuses. Everything is a lie these days. At least they didn't put generative AI in the burgers. I'll drive for good food, but the 20 minute trip didn't make this feel totally worth it. The burgers are good, but nothing exceptional, especially at the price point. If I lived closer, I'd probably return, but I don't have a strong urge to come back. Still, it's worth a shot. RIYL: Smash burgers in ten minutes or less.

John passed away in early 2024, while his family took over the shop in Pflugerville. Now just about a decade after opening shop, Brotherton's is closing down at the end of August. Following John's passing, they've hit a few road bumps from the rising cost of beef that's been plaguing Texas BBQ. Earlier in January they posted on social media how they were struggling, and again last spring. At the start of August, the Brotherton's family announced Brotherton's Black Iron BBQ in Pflugerville was shuttering for good at the end of August. Knowing this would be the last time I would be able to try it, my buddy and I took an extended lunch break on a Friday to give it a shot. Upon arrival at just around 11:50, we noticed that the parking lot was packed with multiple food trucks and other businesses filling the shopping center. We got lucky with a parking spot far away as we marched inside to wait in line. On the door lay plenty of stickers from different BBQ joints from Texas and beyond, with even some coming from overseas. The line moved slowly but surely, and as we got to the front we got our three-meat plate with a bonus slice of turkey for good measure. We ended up getting to Brotherton's at the perfect time because we got the final slices of brisket on that glorious Friday. I'll share my thoughts on everything we tried: Brisket: Though it looked like a great cut that was nicely seasoned, it was pretty fine overall. Nothing remarkable about their brisket while still very fatty. Jalapeño Cheddar Sausage: Juicy, cheesy, not really too spicy on the jalapeño side of things, but that might just be from the mildness of jalapeños these days. Pork Ribs: These suckers looked incredible from the pictures I saw online and on social media, but they were kinda disappointing based on how incredible they looked visually. They were good, just not as epic as I was hoping. Turkey: Turkey is underrated in the BBQ scene, and this is no exception. A nice cut of meat! Cornbread Casserole: I could've eaten the whole thing myself, so it was a shame that we were sharing. Green Chili Mac and Cheese: I'll repeat myself. I could've eaten the whole thing myself, so it was a shame that we were sharing. As a whole, I'm very glad I gave them a shot before I would never be able to again. That's the hardest part about Texas barbecue. The best places and the historic spots can drop in a moment's notice when hardships hit or the meat prices skyrocket. Sadly, I can tell that they're already at the end of their rope with certain menu options like the loaded nachos and baked potatoes, which always seem like the sign of the end. And with how the food was simply just decent overall, it's hard to justify the rising prices. I see reviews all over saying their quality has fallen off year after year following JMFB's passing, and it makes sense: he was the heart and the soul of the business. When that vaporizes overnight, it's only a matter of time. I don't wish for the downfall of any spot, but I understand that it's bound to happen to certain ones. RIYL: Paying respects to one of the greats in Texas BBQ

When we found out, we rushed over for a Father's day meal. The atmosphere was pretty cool, interesting pictures on the walls, someone put a lot of effort, time and thought into the decorating of this establishment. All men running the joint, we told the guy who took our order(who was very nice), it was our first time here. They have been in business for 16 years(not at this location)! So lets get down to the food. My Husband ordered the two dog combo, one a Chicago dog, another a sauerkraut dog, it came with fries. He sad the dogs were amazing, they hit all the marks. The fries were ok, a little room temp(but to be fare we came there 30 minutes before closing). The soda's were really great, not two sirupy, not too carbonated, we enjoyed them. I ordered a pizza with Italian sausage added. They gave us our drinks for free, which was awesome. I didn't know what to expect with the pizza, but I was blown away by it. They should be very proud of the recipe they created. Most places over season/spice their sauces. The flavor of the tomato gets drowned out. This was absolutely not the case the sauce did not sow out the crust whatsoever it held its crisp the whole time. The sausage was wonderful. The cheese was everything you wanted on a pizza. I can say it's the best than crust pizza I think I've ever had. My husband tried it and we fought over who was going to be eating it for lunch tomorrow. It was huge. I wasn't expecting it to be that big. I will be dreaming about that pizza, and craving it. This is my go to place to get good pizza. It blows Nikki's out of the water. If you are craving some good then crust, pizza, or hotdog I suggest you go there. They also have chili fries, cheesesteaks, so much. They have one of those menus, where everything looks good, and it's hard to decide. Just try it. Warning, this pizza is 14 in(seemed bigger), and it being thin crust, and tasting so good, you might find yourself eating the whole thing. Wish we had pics to post, but we did not think of doing it, will do next time(which will probably be later this week, it was that good).

They offer two sizes, and we ordered the smaller regular Americana Cheesesteak, the Cartel, a shared order of fries, and two fountain drinks. Our total came to about $35, which felt like a good value for the amount of food. Service was friendly and they served our food to the table very fast. The fries were your typical frozen fries and came unseasoned, but that wasn't a big deal. We added our own seasoning. One thing to note is that they only serve Pepsi products. That's a big bummer for me because I'm a Dr Pepper girl, but it isn't a complete dealbreaker because they also offer tea. Now let's talk about my sandwich. It was loaded with so much meat that I couldn't even fit it in my mouth! I ended up taking some of the meat out and adding it to the fries, which turned out yummy. The steak was well seasoned, and the lettuce, tomato, and mayo ratio tasted perfect. If you're looking for a hearty cheesesteak that will definitely fill you up, Wise Guys is worth checking out. I'll definitely be back!

Chicken quesadilla was great. Seasoned waffle fries with gringo dip was also very good. Not so good: Management. I ordered a double Jack and Coke in a short glass. I deliberately mentioned the short glass to the waitress, in spite of the fact that a typical double whiskey and Coke drink comes in a short glass. Unfortunately she didn't catch the ask for short glass (she said she'd never had someone yet ask for that order, but I think she meant at this restaurant). Someone delivered a tall glass instead. I asked our waitress to give me a short glass and she tried to do so. When she came back she said the manager wouldn't let her, which was weird, so I asked to see the manager. Josh. Josh did not handle the interaction well in my opinion. In his opinion it was the same alcohol in a short or tall, so he thought I should just drink the tall. That's obviously not a great experience. Ultimately after a (too) long discussion he didn't charge for the drink. But the experience was ruined for us and since this was our first visit to this location it was simply a bummer and we likely won't be back.
