I got a cheeseburger (patties) with lettuce, tomatoes, bacon, and asked for the Nirvana sauce on the side, along with some barbecue sauce and fries. The burger was incredible- fresh, flavorful, and those smash patties really hit the spot. Everything tasted amazing once I got home. The order was ready in under 10 minutes, the staff was super friendly, and the price was really affordable. I finally was near the Pflugerville location to try Buddha Burger. I ordered double cheeseburger, regular fries and onion rings. This location is in a convenience store. I took my order home to eat. The drive was about 15 minutes, so it might have impacted the fries. They were good, but I would prefer they were cooked a bit longer to get a crispy texture. The onion rings were OUTSTANDING! The breading had great flavor and are some of the best I have ever had. Definitely, best onion rings in any burger joint around ATX. The burger was great. A great tasting burger that hit the spot. It's a Friday night and my buddy and I decided it was time for a little adventure. He saw a video on social media talking about Buddha Burger having some of the best smash burgers in the Austin area, so we made the trek to the Valero gas station in Pflugerville that houses the burger joint to give it a shot. As we walked in, we were surprised to see a pretty long line. Mere seconds later, the entire line dissipated because it was all delivery drivers. The amount of DoorDash and Uber Eats orders coming out of Buddha Burger is insane, and for a burger joint, they seemed pretty on top of getting orders out in a timely manner. My buddy placed his order first, getting the California Classic and their Chocolate Toffee Cookie. I ordered the Big Buddha with their poutine purely out of curiosity. In about 10 minutes, both of our orders were ready. Inside the gas station, there is one large kitchen island style table where everyone can sit. The Big Buddha was good. It didn't wow me by any means, but it was solid. I think the hype around it being the best smash burger in the area led to some disappointment because it was fine. It didn't make me melt or blow my taste buds away. The California Classic my buddy ordered was also good, but nothing extreme. As for the poutine, I do not see myself ordering it again. Ever. The cheese curds were not as melty as I would hope, even with hot gravy poured on top, and by the time we got to it, the fries were completely soggy and lacked any crispness. I know poutine is inherently soggy, but this just did nothing for me. Maybe I'm not a poutine guy and that could be on me, but I'm just being honest. Neither of us cared for it. We split the cookie, which was huge but toothpick thin. We both thought it was okay, but a little too sweet. Not worth ordering again. We decided to dine in because I think food is best eaten immediately after it's ready. While waiting, we watched the kitchen operate and it honestly felt like a new hire was being berated at every given moment. The staff seemed to be working like they were under Carmy from The Bear. As someone just sitting and waiting for food, it felt awkward to witness and made me a little uncomfortable. I know most of their business comes from delivery apps so this probably isn't seen often, but for a place called Buddha Burger, there was no awakened state from the staff. There was no peace and no compassion. It felt weirdly hard-ass while we were there. I hate feeling lied to by a social media video. I've become weary of most especially if they get special treatment and don't talk about the plus and minuses. Everything is a lie these days. At least they didn't put generative AI in the burgers. I'll drive for good food, but the 20 minute trip didn't make this feel totally worth it. The burgers are good, but nothing exceptional, especially at the price point. My first review was over two years ago, so I figured it was time for an update. To be honest, we've picked up burgers from this place countless times because it's so convenient--their online ordering for pickup is super fast. The first time we tried their onion rings, they were just okay, but either that was a one-time miss or they've seriously improved since then. We gave them another shot and they were crispy perfection--extra crunchy on the outside with perfectly cooked onions inside. We love their smashed-style patties (chunky ground beef with a great balance of meat and fat). My all-time favorite is still the Holy Smokes--a double cheeseburger with deep-fried jalapeños--while my husband usually goes for the double hamburger. We also tried the crispy chicken Buddha, which was surprisingly good with a crispy exterior and tender, juicy meat. The only downside is that the food does lean a bit on the salty side, including both the burgers and the onion rings. The menu offers many types of burgers and chicken. The laughing Buddha burger features a mushroom patty in addition to beef. It was an umami bomb of flavor. Stumbled upon this place when I was in the area. I know a gas station may turn you away from trying this place but it's definitely great for grab and go. The single patty cheeseburger is a bit steep at $8 plus $1 per any added topping. I had to opt for the fried jalapeños which was the star of the show for me. It added such a good crunch and spice. A burger shop inside a gas station. It is slightly unique as it shares a space with it. When you go in, there are 2 counters; one is for the gas station and one is for the burgers. You place your order, and there are 2 tables inside near the front and a large shared eating area near the ordering counter and 2 tables outside. You order your food at the counter and milkshakes, but if you want a soda or something else, it would be done on the gas station side. The employee did check up on me once and gave me extra napkins, which was nice for being inside a gas station. I got the Cali Classic, which had a nice crispy texture on the outside as it was crisp on the outside of the bun. The sauce inside the burger was heavy on the mustard, something to note if you don't like it. Also, I ordered a side of Cajun fries, which were okay. Buddha Burger is such a hidden gem. While you might be fooled by the exterior because it's located inside a gas station, it's a really nice place. The burgers are very fresh, I got the mushroom melt (a copy of the shroom burger from shake. Shack) and the monk vegan burger. Both were delicious and the Cajun fries are also very nice. The service is friendly. They offered us spicy sauce which I highly recommend. They don't have a lot of seating inside but the counter inside was empty when we went and they have a few table outside. Drove into round rock from Houston and had some chick fila on the way but we wanted to try something new for dinner. I think the default is you should never order burgers for delivery and I'm going to start with that. We got 2 buddah burgers regular and small, fries and they gave us some chicken tenders. SCORE! Again this was a delivery order so the review is based on this specific experience. Initial bites in everything , flavor is bursting. Good quality beef , not super fatty (which I love- only want a greasy burger if it's thin), the quality of Ingredients over all were great. I think if I had gotten the burger without cheese and no lettuce I would have enjoyed it more. The melted cheese texture with the soggy lettuce did not last the trip, and I felt like they took away from the burger overall. The sauce was quite good it reminded me of a cross between egg salad and potato salad. The fries I think had like gochujan powder or something were good but if I had it fresh would probably have enjoyed more. Initial bite of tenders were really good but after bite 2 it was like too much bullion in the batter. But in a samich with some coleslaw to cut through the salt I think it would have been great. The only problem I had with the meal overall was the sodium level which had me feeling kinda bloated and sick (could have been from driving and eating a salty spicy chicken earlier). I've wanted to try it, but it is quite a distance from my home. Finally, last night I decided it was time to give Buddha burger a try. We ordered a double California burger, a California burger, a hamburger , some Cajun fries, a vanilla shake, a caramel shake, and a toasted almond mocha shake. Let me say that Buddha burger lived up to all the hype and more. The California burger with the Nirvana sauce was excellent, although I didn't taste the curry in the Nirvana sauce. The California burger is served on a buttery toasted bread that really elevated the burger. The Cajun fries were spicy, but not too spicy for me to have several of them. There was something fabulous about the toasted almond mocha shake. I didn't taste a mocha flavor, but it was delicious and something I can't quite explain. Buddha Burger, I was rooting for you! I came in with high hopes (thanks, Yelp!) and a serious burger craving. Sometimes I'm skeptical on gas station restaurants, but this one was way better than I expected. It was super clean inside and my worry was that it was going to be a weird smell with the mixture of two, but there wasn't. The burger was by far my favorite. I would definitely go back for another. I've been seeing all the great reviews of this place for ages, but was always hesitant to try because it's located in a convenience store. There is a small community counter that can seat about 6 people, but you really should order to-go. I got the Buddha burger, which is double stack with an extra middle bun. The food was all very good, including the fries and chocolate shake. The burgers are smash style, and hang over the edge of the buns by a good amount, so expect them to be kind of messy to eat. A step above In-and-Out or P Terry's, but not as good as Five Guys. I thought it was a little pricey, $25 for the double burger, fries, and shake. For that price, I'd rather go to Five Guys for a proper sit-down experience. read more

I placed an online order I ordered food the first time but it did not direct me to a confirmation order and said that it was "unable to process this payment" So I tried again to order and that time I knew my order went through cause it directed me straight to my confirmation. So I get to the place and they told me I have 2 orders which I was not aware of. I got charged twice. I asked if I could get a refund since I was not aware that it charged me again. They said the only option was to get my points back. So beware in case you need a refund they will not be able to accommodate only give points back which is useless because I already got points for whenever I ordered. Inside dining consists of a couple of barstools at the coffee bar and not much else except some picnic tables outside. I ordered the basic cheeseburger, fries and chocolate shake, which came to about $15. If they run your credit card, you will be greeted by the tip screen, which is next to the cash tip jar. So was this combo worth the $15? Sure, I guess however, I found the burger to be a little bit smaller than I expected. I just had the regular fries which I found to be quite decent. The chocolate shake also seemed smaller than I expected and was typical of any cheaper commercial offering. If you're really hungry, I suggest adding another pattie. Both sandwiches were delicious. I especially liked the crispy, thinly pounded chicken patty with the Nirvana sauce. Sauce 6 is also not too be missed. I'm so glad we gave it a go because wow, the ingredients are so fresh and yummy. We both tried the double Buddha burger, I opted to add in tomatoes and lettuce in mine because I like the textures and it gives me that traditional burger feel. The fries are yummy, their chicken strip batter is good too and remained crispy all the way home with the car ride. Nirvana sauce has a tangy mustard base. The service was speedy and they even came outside to tell me it was ready! I would recommend trying this place out because it is yummy and we say this place is worth coming back to again in the future! The burgers and sides here are terrific. I tried the Little Buddha--a cheeseburger with pickles, onions, lettuce, and sauce. It was so tasty and the toppings were hefty and pronounced. I also tried the onion rings, Cajun fries, and poutine. All were delicious--the poutine is definitely the largest portion of the three. I would recommend them all, but the poutine really stood out with the creaminess of the cheese curds. The onion rings are thick slices with a hard crust, which is how I like my onion rings. The Cajun fries had a great seasoning and came with a tartar type dipping sauce. This is not your normal gas station hamburger, even though it is in a gas station. It seems most people do DoorDash or other services and have the food delivered. I ordered at the counter and the staff were amazing. They were very helpful in guiding me through the menu and explaining everything to me. I got the Buddha burger, and I can say it is one of the absolute best hamburgers I have ever had. The quality of the meat is amazing. Everything about the burger was fresh and I wanted more. I ordered the onion rings as well. They were very crispy and crunchy, however, had a Cajun seasoning on them that I could have done without. It overpowered the flavor of the onion at times and that is the reason I get an onion ring is to be able to taste the onion. I would have the seasoning as an option. I also got a milkshake. That was extremely delicious. Know if you are going, you can buy fountain drinks separately at the gas station. Be aware there's not a great place to eat at the location. Only three stars today. Here's why. I'll start by saying the meat is very fresh and you can tell it's good quality. We will eat here again. My issues are, for someone ordering for the first time, you look at the photos and think it will be similar. We got 4-5 onion rings and a small bag (same size bag as onion rings) of fries. This is not what the photo portrays and for $5 each, I feel it's too little quantity for the price. The poutine is as the photo shows. Also the "lettuce wrap "is shredded lettuce. Still tasty but make sure you have a knife and fork versus lettuce wrap from other places that can be eaten as hand food. I showed up a minute before our indicated pickup time though our food came out 21 minutes past that time. Our kids were hungry, snacked at home and then didn't eat their food because we took too long to feed them. I get being busy but please be upfront about pickup times.
