I explained I would be catching up on some work and they gave me a table with a plug for my computer and phone! The food was amazing! The only place I know that has freshly made crepes! As a single parent who doesn't cook much there wasn't much to do on Thanksgiving, until we saw an add for a Turkey meal at iHop, which said that they were open until 3pm. We live about 30 minutes away so we left about 1:40pm and arrived at 2:10pm Doors were locked. An employee sticks her head out and asked if we ordered take out. I explained I saw the ad that said they would be open and drove 30 minutes to there. Her excuse: "We're closing earlier" I tried sending an email to their customer service department, got an automated response saying that someone would contact me within 5 business days- that was 3 weeks ago. I just sent an addendum to that email saying that apparently their version of business days is much different as well LOL read more

I visited IHOP for nostalgic reasons, and it did not disappoint. I was able to order from the kids menu to have the exact item I would always get when I visited. We also tried the Nashville Hot Chicken Melt, and it was delicious! It was 2100 calories for the meal alone and it was worth every single one. Given how busy the restaurant was, the service was good; our server was friendly and responsive to whatever we needed. When we visited, there were full tables but the noise level was average for a family restaurant. I would definitely make another visit if I was in the area or passing through again! read more

Since we were in the area n didn't have breakfast yet it seemed like a good idea since was noon. The place is a good size with different rooms. We were seated quickly next to the kitchen. Our waitress quickly brought us menus n asked what we wanted to drink? We ordered coffee n she then brought a pot of coffee and creams. One thing I really appreciate about this breakfast chain is they think about Seniors and offer a 55+Senior meals just righ r. I ordered the Rise n Shine 55+ breakfast with bacon, egg n hash browns. I already came out in less than 20 minutes. Everything was cooked perfectly and I can honestly say those are the best hashbrowns I've had in a long time they were crispy on the outside very moist on the inside. Found ourselves making some errands in the Clay area and decided to check out the only IHOP in central NY. My young kids were excited to go. I'm glad I didn't check out the yelp reviews of this location prior to going because I might have been dissuaded to go. Not sure why the less than average reviews as we had a great experience, which expectation was totally tempered based on chain format. We visited at peak lunch time on a recent Saturday with a party of 5 and waited about 5 minutes for a table. Lisa, our server was very nice. The kids loved their silver dollars and happy faced chocolate pancakes. I was totally shocked by how delicious the pesto veggie eggs benedict was. Eggs poached perfectly, the veggies seasoned and hollandaise sauce was spot on. Truly unexpected! The adults loved their pancakes but the waffles were the standout. The coffee was tasty and fresh. The restaurant itself is nice enough. Clean table and bathroom. The bill for 3 adults, 2 kids, meals and drinks came to $74. Not exactly cheap but I'd say worth it. This place is what it is its. No frills diner. The staff are always friendly, but the service is always slow. I'm not sure what takes it so long to get coffee, pancakes, and eggs. First time eating at this I-hop, and it was pretty good! The service was attentive, friendly, and helpful with whatever requests I made. I ordered Mozzarella Sticks as an appetizer, and the Nashville hot chicken melt as my meal. Both tasted pretty good! The marinara sauce for the sticks was pretty standard and nothing special but the sticks themselves were nice and crispy and cheesy. Speaking of cheesy, the Nashville hot melt had a perfect blend of melted cheese and chicken, as well as a nice crunch with the pickles. It also wasn't super duper spicy and completely like drenched in nashville hot sauce so thats a huge plus. Went to the IHop#3696 in Clay NY this morning. The only other people in the restaurant were a family of 4. Bethany, our waitress sat us and then after she got their drink orders came back to us to get ours and our food order. Took quite a while to get our order. Food was ok. A gentleman came in who Bethany knew so she started talking to him. She went to the other table and then we asked for refills on my coffee and husbands hot water for more tea. We finished and then waited and waited for Bethany to stop talking to her friend who was listening to her complain and complain about another employee, Tammy. Very unprofessional and left us waiting. Needless to say, she only got a 10% tip. the food was ok so we will not be going back. This was our second visit-the first the service was bad also but then the restaurant was busy. I'm giving 1star bc 1st and foremost when I go to eat out, it's bc I'd like something other than home-cooked meals. 2nd the comfort of eating out, however, it was so cold. Everyone was complaining about the same thing it felt like winter inside our coffee we had to continue topping to keep warm. My friend had ordered chocolate chip pancakes and they came double chocolate and didn't look so appetizing and the wait staff was so nice they took it back right away and brought her regular chocolate chip pancakes that were delicious. I don't usually eat at chain restaurants but promised my granddaughter we would go to IHOP. I wasn't disappointed. I haven't been here in quite a long time and this is a new building on route 31 just outside great Northern Mall. The entrance is on route 31. The booths are designed to have a lot of privacy and I felt comfortable eating there that I was socially distanced. We arrived on a Tuesday morning at about 815 and it wasn't that crowded. We were seated right away and The wait staff seemed upbeat, Friendly and attentive. Keeping up with the times, IHOP now has protein pancakes. They also have a senior menu for those 55 and older. That means you don't have to order a 10 inch stack of pancakes. I had one of those specials which gave me a few pancakes a large dish of scrambled eggs and some bacon. UPDATE!! After our first "less than favorable" visit to this IHOP, my husband suggested that we give it another try. So glad we did! We were seated promptly and the waitress came right over. I wish that I remembered her name, because she really deserves recognition. Our food was served in a timely manner, and the new Manager, Tom, was extremely attentive to everything going on around him, including greeting us and other customers to make sure we were happy with our meals. BIG difference from our first visit several weeks ago. This pleasant and much needed change is most likely the result of Tom taking over management of this IHOP. Well done, Tom. Waitress had to come ask a few times what we wanted, which we are understanding she did explain she's new. My husband and I decoded to go into for breakfast this morning and take advantage of the Veteran's day special as he served. We were told roughly a 15 minute wait, that host would us when our table was ready. We sat patiently and waited and then we started to notice that people who had gotten there after us were being seated. Finally the host asked us if we had received a call. We hadn't. He seated us right away and the server came over and took our order. An hour and a half later, we finally got our food. We get the bill and we were charged for my husband's breakfast in addition to my own. At this point, we just paid the bill and left and we had already wasted enough time there. This facility only opened about 4 weeka ago, we decided to try them out in the middle of the week and it wasn't even 8:30am. There weren't many cars there, so we decided to stop. When we walked in the hostess advised it would be anywhere from 45-min to an hour wait and she was telling the people the best thing to do was call ahead or make a reservation, needless to say we didn't stay. Fast forward to today, I decided to do as they advised and called ahead only for the girl to say it was on a first come first serve basis, that she could make a reservation, but couldn't guarantee anything and currently it was a 2 hour wait?!! Like seriously?! Even Texas Rd house down the street never had a 2 hour wait, and this is IHOP? Why advise people to call ahead and or make a reservation if you're only going to tell them you cannot guarantee how long it will take to seat them when you get there? Went to the ihop on RT 31 in Clay NY today and man what a meal! Been before and didn't have the best experience. What a turn around! Everyone was pleasant. Had to wait a little bit but not long enough to even get comfy on their bench lol. That Benedict was amazing! Perfectly cooked eggs! Yolk inside was so silky smooth! My friend also loved the new improved burger. That crisp was so good! Couldn't resist trying a bite lol. I don't know if it's because of the new management but everything was on point! We will be back for sure. While we were there, it looked like they had a huge party in the back of the restaurant and I overheard who looked to be the manager speaking with them and they seemed pleased. Gone are the days of the different syrups on the table, carafe of coffee..... syrup & condiments come in tiny plastic condiment containers. If you want more coffee you have to wait for your missing server to reappear. The plexiglass everywhere was filthy, including the glass on doors to the kitchen The kitchen staff had masks on but all were pulled down underneath their mouths. Do not stop here if you are hungry, I come into an empty restaurant with maybe three employees, I wait 10 minutes to be seated and about another 20 just before they asked me what I wanted to drink. After about another 10 minutes I was able to order and then I waited almost an entire hour before the food came out. On top of that, my pancakes were stale, cold and extremely dry, (you should have seen how fast The syrup was absorbed). My burger came out with a stale bun and no sauce on it, one single onion ring and a burger that was cooked to the point where no moisture was left in it. I had to take the bacon off of it because it was so hard it genuinely was uncomfortable to chew. Maybe we just caught them on a bad day. Stopped by on a Sunday morning around 8:30. They were pretty busy and from what I could tell by overhearing the front desk conversation, a bit understaffed. We were actually seated quite promptly and served promptly as well. However, despite the food coming out quickly it was lukewarm at best, parts of it ice cold. My eggs weren't fully cooked. At a chain restaurant you expect consistency and the food was also lacking in flavor, just something off & bland about the whole meal. Visited sunday 12/26. Two delivery drivers were waiting for food (to the point where they asked for an eta since they'd been waiting so long). This should have been an indication of how our experience would be. We were seated after just a short wait and the hostess passed our table twice telling us our waitress would be with us before she showed up. I don't know if she identified herself but she took our order and then we waited. And waited. And waited. We did get our drinks in a somewhat timely manner but they were nearly gone by the time the food came. And....given all this time it allowed us to look around and notice that no one in our section had food. 5 tables/booths ahead of us that similarly had drinks but no food. No offer of a refill (we weren't drinking coffee and noticed others who weren't either) or an explanation or update in the delay in our order. When we asked about an eta we were told that food was coming in order and they were a little backed up in the kitchen. When food did start coming out at least 3 out of the 5 orders were missing food (we couldn't see the other 2 tables) and another drink order was Sent back. While this was all going on no one came to our table to update us or explain the delay. A woman named Tina casually walked around (she may have been the manager as she had a red shirt and didn't wait tables or seat people) as did everyone else. There wasn't any urgency in anyones actions, although it was clear that drink glasses were low and food was absent from the table. When our food did come we were missing an order of pancakes and had to ask twice for salt. The food was ok, average for a run of the mill chain restaurant but this was my first visit and will be my last. Completely unimpressed and by the actions of the staff I'm sure no one cares. read more
