The staff were helpful, no complaints there, but if you walk into a restaurant and feel a negative vibe, you should trust that instinct. I, sadly, did not. It started with a spider landing on my arm that freaked me out. Now granted, that's me, I have arachnophobia. Not their fault, however, it was a sign of what was to come. I went with my Mom and Dad and if you wanted to walk into a place where it felt like everyone hated their life, this was it. We ordered warm pretzel sticks to start. Now, in my experience, pretzels are baked, as far as I've ever been served, or made on my own. These arrived fried, and smelled of cinnamon. If I was in the mood for State Fair pizza fritte, I would have waited and ordered it once the fair was in town. Who deep fries pretzel sticks?! Needless to say, that was a pass, and we sent them back saying 'no, thank you'. Next, they burned my dad's burger bun, it was black around the edges, and his mashed potatoes tasted store packaged. For my chicken and strawberry salad, the stem and base of a head of iceberg lettuce was essentially a large portion of what the salad was composed of. Other fun fact, apparently my dad cleaned off the silverware before I sat down because it was dirty. I told him post meal, you should have disclosed that information sooner, as I would have suggested an alternate eating establishment for the evening. My mom said the chicken on her salad had too much pepper....and I just frankly gave up on mine and literally threw in the towel.. er.. napkin.. and left it sitting on too, indicating I was not about to stomach another bite. I'm not leaving one star because the waitstaff did the best they could, they didn't make the food. But needless to say, we won't be back... and neither should you. read more

I rarely give a 5/5 , but this place surely deserves it. .. it's always not about the drink or food in a Restaurant.. it's about customer service and this one had best service ! I could have given 3 or 4 stars but the customer service and smiling waitress made me give a 5 star.. This was right next to our hotel and was easy to walk for dinner . Nice location . Amazing space inside to sit and dine . Very good bar with so many beers on tap. Love their blue moons .. the food took sometime to come but we were always taken care by the waitress .wings was really good. Salad was ok. Cake was awesome .. nice ambience . This is a hot spot for me and my family! It is a go-to when we all want to meet up for good reasons. The atmosphere is laidback and the prices are moderate. Tonight I went with my two sisters and mom to celebrate Valentine's Day. I got the Cajun salmon with French fries and Mac and cheese. The food was delicious until I reached the end and the salmon was undercooked quite a bit. It was alarming but the manager Barney handled the situation perfectly. I received a new salmon and my meal was taken off of my bill. He was about to give me brand new sides as well but I refused. I never leave disappointed because I know this particular manager always goes above and beyond. Our server Jenn was always very kind and helpful as well because before we left they ended up packing brand new sides for me anyways. read more

Haven't been to an Applebee's in quite a while. Met a friend for a celebration last night. The host greeted me quickly, was very nice and welcoming when I told him I was waiting for others. Our waitress came over quickly and took our drink orders. She kept checking back til everyone arrived. She was friendly and knowledgeable, took our orders and we didn't wait too long for our food. I had the Bourbon St Chicken and Shrimp with the loaded garlic mashed potatoes. Everything tasted very good, the chicken was cooked nicely, came out very hot, the shrimp were not overcooked...the potatoes were just lukewarm, like they were plated first and waited awhile for the rest of the meal....but I really appreciated the main portion was very hot. I was a bit disappointed with the size of the portion. The chicken looked good size, but was a bit thin, I could have used a few more shrimp and there was a very small portion of mushrooms and onions. The mashed potatoes however was a nice portion size. Have not been to Applebee's in many years because let's face it, it's not the best food but we chose to Stopped for a quick dinner the other night. At this location we were sat right away. I ordered the $5 zombie brain drink and didn't care for it, low amount of Alcohol and so sugary but it looked cool. We ordered the spin dip to start, it was just how we remembered it to be. It's a basic spin dip (it is what it is) not the best in the world but not the worse either. My husband ordered the Quesadilla burger which was large and came with fries (you can substitute for another side if preferred) and he said it was good. I got the southwest chicken bowl that was just average. Service was fast and friendly. They do have reasonable prices. read more

Solid! Went here on a Sunday during the Bills game and it was packed. We had a party of 9 and they were actually able to seat us within about 20 minutes. They seem to manage the crowds very well. They have a big menu and we were each able To find something we liked, husband had a quesadilla burger, which had some spice, and I had the crispy chicken salad. Overall we had great service. Had a large family gathering on 2/20/23 @ 2:00 in the afternoon and the staff was able to accommodate us very quickly. Our waitress, Allison J was so pleasant, and had a great memory! She barely needed to write down our orders! She was attentive and made sure we always had our coffee cups filled, or more soda....and any other thing we could possibly want. The food came out in a short period of time and was very good. I would highly recommend Applebee's on Route 31, Clay. And check to see if Allison is working. Completely disappointing. Neighborhood Heroes discount didn't save the cold food, soggy fries, and incredible crowd becoming more and more irritated at the wait. But the WiFi allowed us to catch a TV episode in the car. So that was nice. It appeared that others had the same idea. We were given a 24 minute wait time and arrived at exactly the appointed time. One. Single. Runner. And 50 minutes of waiting when we got there. We were going to look at Applebee's for another May meal. But Texas Roadhouse has a much more efficient operation. Update: with some communication between the local owners of the business, they did well to respond to the Yelp review and communicate their concerns over my unhappiness as a customer. We have come to an amicable arrangement for another visit. We have already leveraged a takeout order that was much better. The meal was ready at the appointed time, adequate staff were available to run meals to vehicles, the meal was hot and juicy (appropriately so), and communication was sufficient. The team has redeemed our future business. Thank you! As such, I'm raising my rating as well. read more

We came in on a busy Saturday night, hoping to be seated pretty quickly since we were starving and quite disappointed with our excusion in Vernon. The wait for a booth was at least a half hour, so we opted to sit at the bar. The dining area was clean and we were served by a nice bartender named Cady. She was friendly and efficient, and didn't mind that we were chatting it up with her in between her drink-making / serving other bar customers. The food came out pretty quickly after we had ordered, and although the 12 oz NY strip sirloin could have been less dry, the 7 oz Asiago topped steak was delicious - medium rare and tender. The fries and mashed potatoes were typical fare, and the chocolate sundae shooter was just the right size. It's amazing how many people who we knew gathered at this place; inexpensive food and good company is where it's at. If the food were just a bit better and if our other bartender woud have remembered the other parts ot our orders, maybe I would rate this place a 4. Maybe. read more

Dollaritas (and other promotional drinks) are horrible. Straight sugar and no alcohol. Josh the server is pretty cool though. Wings are good. But the dollaritas= DONT do it. My boyfriend sucked the whole thing down quick just so he didn't have to drink it anymore and said "glad that's over" Also, everything is sticky. Service was pretty slow and confusing. Very sad experience. Ordered my food specifically without tomatoes, it was delivered with tomatoes and when taken back to the kitchen and brought back out to me the waitress who wasn't my waitress informed me they scraped them off. Took it back again to be completely re made and my waitress walked towards our table saw everyone had their food but me and continued on to her table next to us as if she didn't notice. Management allowed a very loud group of people to congregate around the bar area blocking walk ways and disturbing guests with their volume. It'll be a long time before I come back and that is if I do the only reason they aren't one starred is because management did comp my meal. read more

I am not above dining at a chain 'restaurant' but my experience at Applebees was simply deplorable. To begin, there was a couple in a Hyundai engaging in a sex act in the parking lot. While that is not Applebees direct responsibility, it did unfortunately cause us disgust for the remainder of the night. We sat at the bar and were greeted by a subhuman single-mom. My date and I placed our drink orders and browsed the menu. We decided to dine off the 2 for $20 menu since I am balling on a budget. Mind you, I don't expect four-star quality or even well prepared food. For twenty US Dollars I do expect my food to microwaved properly! My girl and I ordered queso blanco because it seemed like the only "non-ethic" option. I went for the Chicken Tenders Basket while the old ball and chain went for the Riblet Basket. We figured food served in a basket couldn't be screwed up? We were horribly wrong. The plastic baskets were delivered to us at the bar by your standard Section-8 dweller piping hot. That I'll give them. However, the food was both horribly spiced and simultaneously under-seasoned. It's the type of food that was prepared by a guy who thinks romance is drug store roses and stale Xmas candy. 1/10 would not bang, will not see you tomorrow. (wet fart) read more

The place wasn't very busy, took over an hour to get food for 2 people. We had 3 different waitresses. I had the mini ribs they were extremely dry and i couldn't finish them. They were advertising a drink with a rainbow candy in it and it wasn't served with the candy. for a $4 non alcoholic drink that is ridiculous. Once our food finally arrived the waitress told us that our food was sitting out and nobody told her that it was ready. Meh. On a recent visit, I had an "All American (cheese) Burger" with mashed potatoes. The burger LOOKED like a yummy meaty masterpiece, but upon eating, I was disappointed at the sheer lack of yum. This yummless, flavorless poop-patty with a tiny paper-thin, translucent slice of (what tasted like) "pasteurized processed cheese-food", made my tummy frown, and a tiny tear well-up in the corner of my eye, which I had to quickly wipe away before others at the table noticed my deep despair. I had some lettuce on it, and some wack "non-Heinz" ketchup & mustard, and other than that, it was unadulterated. Let me say, it was no treat whatsoever. Aside from the burger itself walking a fine-line between blah, and a punch in the face, the lack-luster non-grilled bun was kinda cold, as if it was stored in a refrigerator or something. All in all, this burger sucked. The Potatoes? Well, they were luke-warm or room-temp at best, but they were tasty. When our (very friendly) waitress Amanda stopped by to see how everything was, we let her know this (whilst pretending the burger was fine, because I'd rather lie and eat this bore-burger, than send it back for one with the cook's boogers and spit on it), and she was kind enough to bring out 2 hearty bowls of piping-hot delicious mashed potatoes. She rocks. In fact, her, and the potatoes, made the whole visit bearable. I'm not saying I'll never get another burger at Applebee's again, but I will never EVER get another burger at Applebee's again. read more

Crapplebee's is a sub-par food factory. This location had a hard time even microwaving the food they served to me. Ouch.

My wife had the Texas burger and I had the brunch burger. My burger had an egg on top which I do like, however I don't expect an egg that's over hard with no yoke. To me that's the purpose of putting the egg on top so the yoke is like another sauce for the burger. Flavor was ok. I tried my wife's burger and hers had brisket on top, which I was amazed they were able to call brisket. It looked like some sort of gravy or something. I guess expectations from the new commercials were a little higher than what we got. Probably won't order this again. Just wasn't that great of a burger. read more

Went here for an early dinner today with my husband. We were seated in a booth (at our request) quickly and our server came to our table just as fast. (I believe her name was dessere, maybe destiny) she was very nice, smiling and eager to answer any questions we had as well as help my husband find the cheapest route to enjoy a good meal and stick to his diet. She filled us in on all the specials and even gave A quick rundown of specials they run other days for some things we were considering trying. I used the at table kiosk to order mozz sticks for an apetizer while deciding what we wanted for our entree. Those arrived just as the waitress was finishing taking our order. He got bone in wings and grilled shrimp. I ordered the (sorry if this is the wrong name) beer bacon grilled chicken, with green beans and mac n cheese. Our food was served quickly and the plating was very apealing. He loved everything he got. My meal.... The chicken had alot going on. I feel it could use a little less variety of toppings but overall it was pretty good. Green beans were topped with parmesean on bacon (a new one for me) and delicious. I wasnt a fan of the mac n cheese. Seemed rather bland and very dry. The sun started to shibe brightly through the window next to us during our meal and when i went to lower the shade discovered it was the only window in the place without one. So that was a little annoying. If it werent for those few things i wouldve given 5 stars. Recap of possitives, our waitress was great, most of the food was great and it was suprisingly affordable for what we got. I cant wait to try the steak or chicken wonton tacos next time! read more

Should be ZERO STARS...Went to the Rt.31 Applebees in Clay, NY. Around 4:30 PM on 11/12/16. Not very busy and we were seated immediately. While waiting for a server, at least 4 other tables were seated and greeted by person and drinks served. After about 14 minutes we stopped a young lady and asked if she was our server or if someone else was. She said she would find out for us. 6 minutes later she came to the table as we were getting up to leave and she said "I guess I can take care of you." We said no thank you and left and went across the street to Uno's where we had a very enjoyable meal. Had problems in the past with lousy, slow and less than mediocre service at this location. Only started going back to this location after hearing they had changed management and revamped the menu. Never again...way too many dining options on Rt. 31 and they appreciate our business. read more

I got the bourbon st chicken and shrimp with onions and red potatoes. This was my first time getting this item, and I have to say that it was good I also got an appetizer of onion rings which were cooked fairly well. The main course Was pretty good the bourbon chicken itself was cooked perfectly and had a char. The shrimp itself was had a nice ass to it and had some good Cajun spice. And the red potatoes were nice and crispy also the had of a good a good measure of salt. Over all the meal was good and I got it in a 2 for 25 so it was relatively cheap so that was nice. Worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. The waitress was extremely rude and she dumped my mothers margarita on her phone!! She did not feel bad about it what so ever. My mothers food was also messed up and the waitress brought me out water in a dirty glass. My mom talked to the manger and he took off her food and drink but then we had to wait forever for the check because she never came back to the table to apologize or ask if we needed anything else. Decided to go here for dinner tonight since my boyfriend and I had a gift card. We waited almost 10 minutes for our server to greet us. In fact, we were about to get up and leave when she finally came over (I wish we had). She was very awkward and inexperienced. I don't eat meat and with not a single vegetarian entree option, I decided to get the 2 for $9(ish) appetizer combo while my boyfriend ordered a rare steak. Our food came out relatively quickly but his steak was way over cooked (medium well) and my appetizers were full sized orders, something we didn't catch on to until we looked at our bill on the display screen at the table and realized she charged us for 2 individual, full price apps (equaling $16). Our server never came back over again until we were finished. My boyfriend and I both work in the food and beverage industry so we aren't ones to cause a commotion and complain but I felt I had to share this experience to prevent others from a sad night out.
