Unfortunately I love ihop and when I go in there it's dead. Which yay for me. But now I see why. They're just super slow! Waitress are always super amazing!!! I love them all. Hostesses always look so tired or or so unhappy to be there. Food is always on point of course! But two things we have to talk about!!! 1-Those bathrooms!!! Toilet paper everywhere. I placed an online order at 1pm and was a few minutes late getting to the restaurant just to find out they never made my order! My email said the order would be ready by 1:24pm but now at 2:14pm I still don't have my order. The purpose of me placing an online order was to avoid the wait! I ordered the Tilapia dinners via doordash. When I received my order, it was cold, the fish was bland, and the broccoli was Yellow and Brown. The bottom of the stocks were trimmed in Brown as well. Slow service. Kitchen needs more helping hands. Carpet needs to be serviced (damp smell). Bathrooms have foul odor, the kind you have in a public restroom with poor maintenance. Food was tasty and waitress was pleasant but the damp smell takes your appetite away. read more

I placed a curb side order. Got to the restaurant waited curb side. Nobody came. Went in and it was a mad house. People everywhere! Finally someone came to desk told them my name and she disappeared. 40 minutes later came with my sub par food. I felt badly for the 5 door dash /Uber eats drivers waiting longer than i even did. We went to the IHOP on Battlefield Blvd this morning and was extremely disappointed. The place is run down and stunk. Ordered eggs over medium and when I cut them I almost puked in my plate don't like running whites in my eggs got toast no butter or jelly was any where to be seen. Ask for bacon with my breakfast and it was half cooked.So gave it to my boyfriend. About the only thing that was any good was the coffee.And he ordered sausage and they sent him bacon and then charged him for it. I saw the overall review for myself but I always measure things using my own experiences. I'm a fairly non-complicated person and don't ask for much. For Mother's Day, I did not want to cook so we ordered IHop...what a bad move. I am not going to complain about the food because, well, it's IHOP. However, the DELIVERY WAS THE WORST I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED IN MY LIFE! I got a text saying delivery would be at 9:29am.... my order arrived at 10:45am. When I called the restaurant, it was busy each time so I called the driver who worked for Dash and was nice but clearly inexperienced at customer service. She said she was waiting on my order. By 10:15, I called again and was told she was asked to wait on an order and then she asked if she could call me back. She did, saying she was on her way! This is the thing, I knew it would be busy because of the day. My issue is the lack of communication and, audacity to ask this young lady to wait on an order that would take (per the restaurant) no longer than 20 minutes after she had already retrieved my order. I have been to this IHOP a few times since I live in the area and I have to say that each time that I come it gets worse. I don't know where to begin. One day I came here and there were flies everywhere and the ceiling was being held up with boxes. I immediately left and did not return for at least a year in hopes that it would get better. I was wrong. There were no staff but I will say the ceiling was patched up. Months later I return and it's just as bad. It's safe to say that I will not be returning to this IHOP. The IHOP brand should be ashamed. I will say the only thing that may save them is the food. read more

What I ordered was delicious and I enjoyed my meal, however, I did not order any drink. I just had a glass of water and my bill was so high! My meal wasn't huge at all. Fine. That's the cost, but the reason I'm really upset is WHEN THE WAISTRESS SAID MY BILL WAS HIGHER THAN IT WAS!!!!! WHAT THE HECK! I PAID CASH. WHAT SHE DID WAS SHE ROUNDED UP FROM THE MISC. To expect anything better at 1 at 1am, than you will be highly disappointed. Waitress is probably angry cause she goes home broke. You don't make tips if you suck at being a server. Rude, lazy, slow. I am from out of town but come to town frequently to visit family. On 2 different occasions, we have come to this IHOP later in the evenings (8:30pm or after) with our small children (newborn and 2 yrs). Each time, the dining rooms were not crowded but service was terribly slow. Also, both visits found the kitchen out of milk, much to my toddler's dismay! On our second visit, it took over an hour for our food for 6 to come out of the kitchen. To our surprise, the food was hot and quite tasty. We eat all over Chesapeake with our family of 6 (or more) and are served and fed in a fraction of that time. One bad night, i can understand unforeseen issues or staff emergencies; but our visits were 5 months apart. I wish I could rate this place to be 0 stars but obviously it's not an option. We came in and sat for about 40 minutes without our drink order was finally taken. Time flew by cause we were in a deep conversation and we finally asked one of the waitresses to get us drinks. She said sure but never came back with our drinks and then the actual waitress for our table came and got our drinks. We ordered as soon as she brought our drinks and then it took about another hour for our food to get brought out. It was cold and wasn't even made correctly. Terrible experience. We were seated and then it took almost (not quite) 10 minutes for anyone to ask us about drinks. We finally ordered and tables that came in 10 to 15 minutes AFTER we ordered were served before us. When I complained to management, he stared at me and didn't offer to do anything until, after an uncomfortable silence, I asked if he was going to fix it. His fix: 10% discount. Really?!? It's hit or miss here. Usually when we have problems, it's in the morning. My husband went one Saturday morning with 2 teens and 2 younger kids. It took 20 minutes to get drinks and place their order. After sitting there for 45 minutes... still no food. He asked for the manager and he/she never showed. At the 55 minute mark, he paid for their drinks and went somewhere else. (I told him I would have just left.) When we've gone for dinner, the service has usually been better. This last time, we had a really nice waiter. When my son ordered his mac and cheese meal, he asked for the fruit cup, "but no orange melon in it." I explained to him that it didn't work like that. When his fruit cup came out, there was no cantaloupe in it! Guess who got a better tip. I've never had an issue with order accuracy here either. read more

It's IHOP, it's a chain, you know what you're getting. Still I go occasionally, it's very close to my house, and the coffee is decent and the pancakes really are good... but I have a fundamental problem with restaurants having carpeting. It simply can't be cleaned like hardwood or linoleum/tile. Add on top the amount of syrup and coffee that's been spilled over the years and it's no wonder it smells terrible inside. Took at least 35 minutes to receive an omelette and a country fried steak and the house wasn't even packed on a Sunday (which should have told us something right there). When we finally received the food the cheese on the omlette looked cold like it had been sitting out for awhile, the steak was overcooked and tasteless, and the pancake syrup had no flavor. The wait to sit wasn't long, maybe 15 mins. It is the weekend so we knew that would already be the case. We ordered our food, it took an hour to receive it. Most was cold. They were out of kids coloring pages, so my kid got restless. They didn't have any regular sugar packets, so the waitress was taking them from other tables. The entire restaurant was very muggy and hot. So it really stinks in there. The table was not cleaned all the way when we sat down. We picked up the syrup and the bottom was stuck to the rack it was in. I will not be returning to this IHOP ever. Worst one I have been to. Stopped by when getting my cars inspected. Was going to run over to the McDonald's across the lot when I spied IHOP next door. Not sure what to order, the waitress suggested the $4.99 breakfast special, two eggs, two bacon, two sausage, hash browns and toast or pancakes. I opted for toast and asked If I could have extra bacon in lieu of sausage. No problem! I receieved two perfect over easy eggs, crisp bacon and delicious hash browns (although the hash browns were only crisp on one side, obviously the side presented on the plate!). My only complaint would be that the toast was already buttered so by the time it arrived a bit soggy. A touch of Jelly fixed that! Did not notice a breakfast buffet but as this is something I normally wouldn't have use for anyway, that was fine. A very good breakfast for less than I would have spent at their next door neighbor! read more

Horrible ihop franchise. Server had a bad attitude from the time we walked in. When the food was ready another server brought it. She walked past our table at least 4 times while our drinks were empty and never said a word.then she finally stopped and said y'all Ok? I said can we have refills she took the drinks and just walked away. Came and sat them on the end of the table a just walked away. We sat the for 20 minutes after we were done she was leaning against a table on her phone. Came here for a early morning meal...and it was the only place open near the area we were in. Clean and quickly seated but since there was really no one there not sure how it would be during normal breakfast hours. Terrible. Came in after serving at my own job for a late night Valentine's Day date with some of my friends because it's one of the few places open late on a Wednesday night. The server didn't even smile. She rolled her eyes several times at us and seemed to be annoyed that she had to wait on us. She came over to our table three maybe four times? The cook who was supposed to be in the back was taking more care of us then she was after the fact of him yelling at one of my friends for dropping his silver wear and menu. We didn't know him and clearly he was bored with his job. He kept coming out and talking to us. Me and my girlfriend were extremely disappointed in this particular IHOP. As soon as you walk in you are greeted with an awkward smell and no hostess. After 45 minutes of waiting we finally received our food. Meanwhile, the people who order at the same time as us were finishing theirs. Poor Service and Messed Up Orders. Waited for about ten minutes just to be greeted and seated (even though it was 2/3 empty). Sat and waited for a while before the server finally came and took our orders. Waited again for a long time before he finally brought out the food for two of our group of four. Several minutes later he brought half of the order for the third person and notified us that there was a "mis-communication" about the fourth order and it would be out "soon." Finally about an hour and ten minutes after we entered the restaurant, our complete order was brought to the table. Upon paying the bill we noticed that we'd been billed for food we never ordered and were not billed for other food that we did get. Absolutely messed up and poor service.
