I have been here many, many times over the years. It is truly a great place to eat and definitely a staple of our community. The coffee is always spot-on, the food is always good and the staff is ALWAYS nice. I usually enjoy the spinach and mushroom omelet combo here, w/ the whole-grain pancakes and a side of turkey bacon or sausage. It's a very tasty and somewhat healthy choice. And yes, we all know that IHOP is a chain, but this location is hands down one of the best locations that I've visited in this area. We were disappointed in the Shiny Diner so someone told us to go to IHOP. We ordered an omelette and received scrambled eggs with cheese. The hash browns were cold. Doesn't look much when you drive by until you actually go inside and order that's when the magic happens. Everything in the IHOP just lights up like Christmas decorations. The workers were so helpful and caring. The whole time I was dining there I felt very at home and comfortable. I used to underestimate local IHOPS in my area but they are perfect for the quick pick-me-up breakfast and need just a homestyle feel for breakfast. Totally recommend it if you love pancakes just like me. One place I would never recommend is Mcdonald's hotcakes. I frequently read articles about how Mcdonald's food in your intestines is black. Pleasantly surprised after coming here on a Sunday morning. Server was attentive with drinks and other staff asked if we needed anything else. Food came out warm. Hash browns were crispy on the outside just like I like. Eggs were perfect. Came in on a Sunday afternoon. It wasn't crowded. As soon as we sat down, people to our left told us to be prepared to wait. Service was non existent. Saw one person get up from their table... say that he waited 45 minutes... never got his food and he was leaving. Server response..."OK". I overheard the server tell a co-worker he was a Dick. Really? Fortunately... our wait wasn't that bad. Server took our order and delivered our food that's about it. Table and silverware was dirty. Restaurant was a bit of a mess. My business networking group used to love meeting here (2 yrs mind you!) for breakfast until the manager created a policy that all had to be present to be seated. The service was always good with two servers in particular, but when management stepped in and insisted we all be present to be seated at 8am in the morning when the restaurant was almost empty, that just turned us off. We understand if this was a busy lunch or dinner hour when servers can't handle all the tables but come on, when there are plenty of servers and the restaurant needs the business in these difficult times. Several people came after us and got their food ordered and given. Majority of our food was wrong and waited another 10-15min for our food to get corrected. Some guys in my party witness one of the waiters not wash their hands after using the bathroom. After another 10min or so we finally got our checks, but it had to get corrected as well. The service was awful experience and now knowing certain employees don't care for their hygiene I definitely will not be coming back. This place is so hit or miss on both food and service, When they are slow they have excellent service and the food is what you'd expect from Ihop...but when they are busy don't expect anything you ask for in under 5 minutes....sugar free syrup when your pancakes just came out? nah, wait 5 minutes and you'll have cold syrup for your now cold pancakes. The manager here also seems all high and mighty. Asked if I had any dietary reasons. I explained that I follow a keto diet (easiest explanation, and a close approximation). He offered to ask the kitchen to make the omelet with fresh shelled eggs instead of the normal prepared egg wash, because that's made with a touch of pancake batter to make them fluffier. I know COVID has hit a lot of us financially but it is so sad how much they penny pinch compared to the one in garner, You order pancakes and they give you the minimal amount of sauce on the pankcakes... They don't even want to put it on directly on takeout because of portion sizing and instead put it in a little ranch cup to make sure they save those extra few dollars. Yes,you can eat healthy! If you have strict dietary needs they can accommodate. I have Celeac and dairy issues; I just plan ahead. I was excited to see that ihop was open for Christmas and that they have g-free pancakes. Everyone was super nice except our server, Samantha. I was hoping to leave a generous tip since it's Christmas, but it unfortunately didn't happen that way. She brought over my drink with my husband's bowl of coffee creamer sitting on top of my drink so the bowl was in my soda. Gross. I asked the food runner for a new drink because I saw something on my ice. Samantha comes back and sits the new drink down and says nothing. She only asks "is everything okay here" later. This location has sadly gone downhill since opening in cleanliness and service. The food is the typically good IHOP offering. We were seated in the back room this morning despite only a half-full main dining area. The back room is a bit more enclosed and has a strange stale odor. My glass was completely empty for close to 11 minutes siting near the edge of the table without as much as an offering to refill until our waitress brought the check to our table. Im not sure why the service was slow as we were leaving we had to navigate through a virtual obstacle course of 7 waitstaff, 4 hostesses, and 2 more people who looked to be employees that were not yet on duty all congregating and socializing near the doorway area. My husband and I often avoid the dinner hours at IHOP mostly because the service is frequently disappointing and not what we have come to expect from the service we receive during the breakfast and lunch hours. Our favorite servers, such as Mari and Chris, are never around during the evening hours it seems. This evening our server was Danielle; however, you wouldn't know her name unless you inquired because her name tag was blank and she certainly didn't want to extend the courtesy or spend the time to offer it. She was rude, abrupt, and appeared as if she couldn't wait to be done with us. Initially, I assumed this was just her natural demeanor, until I witnessed her interacting with an adjacent table of seniors, laughing and carrying on in a very positive manner. The other wait staff members were, for the most part, helpful and carried a positive attitude toward us. I spoke with Brandon the manager about my concerns regarding Danielle and he put on a nice facade that he cared about what I was saying, but ultimately appeared very distracted and continuously interrupted me with other customers' needs.
