Really awful experience with the front desk kid. Inefficient, lazy, rude and careless. The rest of the staff was good but there was so much stress because of this one teenager who was booking us in! She could not find the reservation, waiver and practically had us running around and almost missed our flight! Bought the tickets from Groupon. During our trip after she wasted our time , and I was flying hhis email was sent..... ................................................................................................. This is the letter we wrote to them after the experience!....... Dear iFLY Management, I am writing to clarify what occurred during our recent visit because I was very concerned to receive an email suggesting that my iFLY reservation was canceled or that I arrived late. I was **not five or ten minutes late**. My daughter and I were physically inside iFLY and standing at the front desk approximately **25 minutes before our scheduled time**. I am confident your security cameras can verify our arrival time. Unfortunately, the staff member at the front desk was unable to locate either my reservation or my daughter's reservation. She repeatedly told us that we were not scheduled and even suggested that we go home and schedule appropriately. I continued to explain that we absolutely had a reservation and had already completed the required waivers. After approximately ten minutes of this, another staff member came over, checked the computer, and discovered that the employee had been looking at the **Sunday schedule instead of the Saturday schedule**. Once she looked at the correct day, our reservations were immediately located. At that point, we still had approximately 15 minutes remaining. However, another problem arose. The same employee then told us that our waivers had not been completed. We had actually completed the online process and waivers **twice** and had received email confirmation from iFLY. I showed her the confirmation email on my phone several times, but she continued to state that she could not see the waivers in her system and would not meaningfully review the confirmation I was showing her. Several more minutes passed until another staff member intervened and located the waivers in the system. Again, there was no apology or acknowledgment that another error had occurred. By this point, nearly the entire 25 minutes that we had intentionally allowed before our scheduled time had been consumed by resolving issues at the front desk. When we were finally escorted upstairs, only my daughter's name was taken. When I asked about myself, I was told that I could no longer participate because I had arrived too late and that I would need to attend another session. I explained, calmly but firmly, that **I had arrived 25 minutes early and was now being treated as late because of repeated errors by iFLY staff**--first looking at the wrong day's schedule and then incorrectly stating that our completed waivers could not be found. I made it clear that I was not willing to return another day because the delay was not caused by me. After I explained the situation, the gentleman upstairs did allow me to participate with my daughter, which I appreciated. My concern is primarily with how the situation was handled at the front desk. Mistakes happen, particularly when an employee may be new or in training. However, what was especially disappointing was the lack of urgency, acknowledgment, or apology while the minutes continued to pass. No one came upstairs to explain that our delay had been caused by the front desk. Instead, I was put in the uncomfortable position of having to defend myself against the accusation that I had arrived late. The rest of the staff was generally courteous, and I appreciate that the gentleman upstairs ultimately accommodated us. However, the experience from the moment we arrived until we were finally allowed to participate was unnecessarily stressful. I also want to emphasize that although our reservation was purchased through Groupon, that should not result in a different standard of customer service. Promotions such as Groupon introduce customers to your business with the hope that they will return and recommend the experience to friends and family. I am therefore very disappointed to receive communication implying that my reservation was canceled or that I failed to arrive on time. **That is simply not an accurate account of what happened.** We arrived approximately 25 minutes early, and that time was lost because of multiple errors at the front desk. I would appreciate iFLY management reviewing this incident, including the timing of our arrival if camera footage is available, and correcting any record that suggests that I was late or failed to appear for my reservation. I also intend to share my concerns with iFLY corporate management. I hope this incident is addressed appropriately so that another customer does not have the same experience. Sincerely, XXX read more

I cannot say enough good things about the experience. It was easy to book and reschedule in advance when plans changed, and EVERYONE was SO FRIENDLY! Three generations enjoyed this experience together. Safety was clearly top priority here. Rick was our instructor and was knowledgeable, reassuring, supportive, enthusiastic, and clearly a pro! All ages had a great time flying in general, learning some mechanics, and experiencing the high fly. This is a must-do!!! read more

I had the greatest experience from the moment we walked in! Excellent service! Traveling from AZ and wanted his birthday to be rememberable. The whole team was so helpful, place was clean and everything was handled in a timely manner. The staff were kind, energic, professional, spoke clearly with directions, on time, and did exactly what they said they would do. Also LOVED it. This is the kind of local business I would definitely recommend, IFLY Union City, and buy the All-Media package. Video and photos were, Clear and fun to watch afterwords. Can't wait till we come back again. Thank you Staff again for making his birthday GREAT!!! read more

Our 2:30 pm reservation was canceled by iFly via phone call today at 1:31 pm. I was told the instructor called in sick this morning and I was offered a reschedule or refund. I chose the refund because today is my son's birthday and this experience was supposed to be today. I asked twice for a written confirmation that iFly cancelled on us and that a refund will be issued. I'm still waiting for the written confirmation / email of the refund. Instead of a good time, it was just last minute disappoint and a potential problem that I'm going to have to get fixed. I'm not able to recommend this company. read more

The good thing is that it's like impossible to get hurt the bad thing is THAT IT IS SO EXPENSIVE

I purchased three tickets for my daughter, her husband and I for the holiday season. This is a simulated sky diving event. We had problems traveling because of the storm, flooding, and some trees were down on our route. We had been in Calistoga for 2 days. We would have been traveling from Calistoga to Union City. Then on to Sunnyvale and ending in Monterey. When you look up San Francisco for the event center; it listed as Union City. Luckily I cancelled 48 hrs before the event since the warning of severe weather & the distance we had to travel. I cancelled & figured we would be out of the money. The manager was a delight about cancelling our reservations and let us know of the 2 day advance notice. What a great feature with no penalty & a full refund. Also if you sign up for their newsletter, they frequently offer discounts. I am so impressed with the manager, Diana at this location. She was so friendly (about a cancellation to boot.) I can see why this place is so popular. Management is the best! It can be difficult to get your times especially around the holidays. Apparently they have various locations across the United States. She is quite friendly and has a wonderful sense of humor. I understand that she will answer to Lady Di;) We will be visiting soon. read more

What a fun experience!!! Insane here years ago when it opened up, and came back with my mom and nephew and we had a blast! Overall the experience was amazing and I would totally recommend it. Recommend doing the high fly that allows you go up the tub and not just stay at the lower level. During the fly they will ask if you want to add any high flights...everyone in our group had said no...we thought it was included and so we did the high flight but were then asked for additional payment at the end. It was a little of a buzz kill as we had so much fun. Just double check your packages as you can get caught up in the excitement and the way it was explained in the moment of your final flight. Even with this hiccup we enjoyed ourselves. read more

My wife surprised me with a session at iFLY for Father's Day, and it was hands down one of the coolest experiences I've ever had. I've always been a huge Superman fan, and this was the closest I've ever felt to actually flying like him! The staff were super friendly, patient, and made the whole experience easy and exciting--even for a first-timer like me. They explained everything clearly and made sure we felt safe and confident before stepping into the tunnel. You could tell they really love what they do. The facility itself was spotless and well-organized, and the whole vibe was welcoming and upbeat. I left with a huge smile on my face and a new appreciation for indoor skydiving. If you've ever dreamed of flying, this is the place to do it. Highly recommend it--especially as a gift or surprise! It was a good experience just to try it out. The price is steep for what you get. Two one minute sessions for $50-60+ each depending on the package you get. Definitely check out Groupon, Facebook, GOVX, for discounts. There is an extra $20 charge to fly higher per flight. So instead of being at 4-5 feet they take you up about 10-15 feet. But the high fly portion of the flight was just the last 15 seconds. Felt a bit ripped off. Overall good to try once but they nickel and dime you here and you feel like you are herded in and out of there. read more

My 7 year old daughter saw some movie where a kid mentioned wanting to go indoor skydiving. She doesn't even know what skydiving is but I looked into it. Sure enough iFly was close enough so in lieu of a party with the whole grade I gave her the option to have a smaller party with a few friends to go here. We got a party bus and they were belting Taylor Swift. We arrived and I left iFly takeover. I was shocked at how fearless these 6-8 year olds were! They all had SO much fun that kids who came are already talking about doing completely copycat birthday parties this year. The guy at the front desk that day was AWESOME. The booking was messed up and we didn't have the party room and pizza in our package. But he gave us the room And we just ordered in pizza. He also helped us with the photos and videos once we got home. 10/10 read more

My seven year old had been dying to go indoor skydiving and since we were in the area visiting family I figured why not. I booked his flights online using the iFLY website. When we arrived, the front desk clerk was extremely congenial and made us feel welcomed. I wish I had caught my son's flight instructors name because he was very sweet to my nervous little boy. Two flights later and I left with a super happy kid and some awesome pictures. Please pass on our thanks to the staff working at 12:00 pm on 4/4. They were awesome! read more

Took my two younger kids to experience it. The last time I was here was to have my two youngest (6 & 7 at the time) to experience it as well. They are now early adults. Yanni was our instructor and he was fabulous..Precise instructions, friendly and attentive. The transparent walls of the wind tunnel are worn. It looks like a mixture of finger prints on the outside from spectator kids and shoe scuffs from the inside. I assume it's the same glass from my first time here. I wish they could replace it for better viewing and clearer video content from the outside. But it is what it is and overall the experience was great. My kids loved it. Yanni delivered a fabulous time for my kids. He was friendly, funny and gave clear instructions. The wind tunnel walls were worn and I assume it's from the first time the establishment opened. It was hard to see inside and take clear video from the outside. But overall it was great and I'm glad the kids had a great time so I bought them ifly tshirts. I also bought the return ifly package that was explained we couldn't get after that day. It would have to be purchased before leaving to get the discounted price. The price was a steal and I couldn't resist. The kids were raving about it and already asking "when are we coming back". If you're looking for something different to do that's fun consider ifly. Also you have to book online. Look for promotional rates if you can. read more

iFLY - Waiting for helmets and they're set! - Skydiving Near Me - Union City, California

What a great experience for kids and adults alike. It's not for the weak or faint of heart, but if you like a fast thrill, this is the place. The main downside for me is the short time of the thrill, I could have purchased more, but I had my 3 nieces and nephew and the cost adds up. The whole crew was super friendly, approachable and accommodating, especially to the little that was apprehensive and had limitations on how high she wanted to go and for them to not let go of her at all! They chat and engage with everyone as if they've known you for years! The smiles on my nieces and nephews faces were u forgettable and have made memories of a lifetime for them (they are only 12 and 9). Lastly, in addition to purchase if more time, I could have paid for the "gear upgrade" which was a helmet that had a face shield instead of a helmet and plastic goggles but opted not to as I already paid for the upgrade to go higher with the dive guide at $20 per person. The regular helmet and goggles worked just fine for the minute they were in there. Overall, great place to experience as a family or give as a gift! read more

Fun place for kids and adults! We took our daughter back in July and she loved it. We got the whole package, the pictures, recording and the going higher option. I think if you are adventurous, go for the higher up option. My daughter has long hair and it gets tangled with all the wind, so if you can braid it, I would recommend that you do. I thought pricing was decent, not too much and not cheap either. For what you are getting, I think its fair. You're having a professional help you and then you get to have a fun experience. Also, you have to make a reservation online. There are no walk-ins here. I really liked this as some places can get messy when they do both. I would recommend this place if you are looking for some fun! read more

My husband made a reservation yesterday to take my son for his birthday. When he arrived at his reservation time, he was told the instructor wasn't there, and ultimately was told the instructor wouldn't be there all day. So he made a reservation for the following day (today). So he shows up again today at his scheduled time, and is told they are having "maintenance issues." But when they go upstairs he can see there is a full party doing the indoor skydiving. So now he is rescheduled for tomorrow evening. Terrible customer service. Zero communication about any problems with his reservation, meaning he's driven down there now with my son twice for nothing. And it seems like they lied about "maintenance issues" to make room for a party. Super disappointing for what was supposed to be an exciting birthday experience for my son. read more

I won't complain about how much smaller, darker and danker this place is compared to some promotional videos on the site. I will however complain that my 5 yr old daughter who worked up the courage to go, when it was finally her turn (she went last) just as she was about to fly they told her to sit back down. Not once but twice so that the what seemed like "preferred fliers" (who wore helmets instead of goggles) could go repeatedly. It got to the point where she was scared and confused as to why she kept getting skipped and didn't want to fly anymore. And so she sat there in a loud windy room for the next 30 mins, alone and crying. I tried to bang on the glass to get her out and they ignored me. There was no explanation or apology for treating my 5 yr old daughter like a second class citizen. This place should be ashamed. read more

This really could be such a good experience, but they up-charge for everything. $10 here, $20 there. Then they want nearly $100 for all of your photos and videos even when you pay for the photo and videos package (it only included 1 photo and 1 video, not the 2-3 videos they take and the 15-ish photos). By the end it just made you feel cheap, but if you're not careful it becomes very expensive very quickly. When you're already paying ~$150+ for a 120 second experience, I would expect all of this to be included, but alas they want to nickel and dime you for everything. Just be prepared coming into this what you're getting into, and understand the pricing. The actual flight was fun but short, and the instructor was great. Just felt icky leaving seeing how they charge for literally everything. You will only fly about 4-6ft off the ground unless you pay to go higher (which we did). You will have to pay extra for a nicer helmet with a face shield that doesn't fog up (alternative is goggles). You will have to pay for each photo and video you want to save. This is all on top of the base rate. read more

If I could leave less than one star, I would. My wife purchased this for me for Christmas as a gift. I have no interest in doing such activity. She did not realize this, so she spent a lot of money on this and since we're not going to use it. We asked for a refund for the voucher. There is no refunds if you get this for somebody you are out of money 100%. I highly recommend you never ever buy this for a gift for anybody unless you are 100% sure they want to use it and will be able to use it. Do not purchase vouchers from this company and the reason I don't want to go is because of the poor reviews I read and it seems like it's for kids birthdays. I'm good thanks. Besides that's a lot of money for one minute of flight. 60 seconds? No I'm good. Also the staff that answered the phone is rude. Definitely glad I didn't go. read more

Yoooo. Shoutout to Chelsea at the front desk and Terrell, the music theater instructor. These two made my experience at iFLY.... WAYYYYY MORE worth it. Customer service really goes a long way. I'll be honest, when I first heard that I was going to pay around $80 some dollars to fly for JUST 2 minutes.... I was a bit skeptical. Also , I hate the feeling of falling. I was going on a whim here. When we first came in, we checked in at the front, and was initially greeted by a guy who seemed he had a lot going on... so I was actually worried that my experience was going to go south... but eventually the Chelsea helped us out. Mentioned the high fly add-on for $20!! Told us, it's what everyone states as the HIGHLIGHT. So obviously, we got roped into the marketing and MY GOSH!!!!! SPOILER ALERT! Chelsea was RIGHT! One qualm I had was... We had a marine in our group and man! It would've been great to have been able to use that discount on the weekend!! But you know... iFLY bro. Terrell, musical theater major. Solid guy. Energetic. Fun. Exciting. Enthusiastic. You name it, he was it! Clearly explain the signs he would use while you are flying to tell you how to correct your position, and even presented you as you entered the wind tunnel! He high-five-d us when we finished and gave my friends and I solid advice when we went into our flights! He's such a nice guy and I hope he finally gets certified to do flips!! I wish we could fly for longer man... the minute flight lasts really only 45-50 seconds cuz they start the timer even before you get in and they end just a few seconds before the timer runs out. For the high fly/flight, it's certainly a thrill to just flutter but it's EVEN MORE amazing to just get sent up and up away and be brought back down! I'm deathly afraid of heights. But for some reason , the aerodynamics or physics of the wind tunnel allowed me to NOT feel that thing where your stomachs going to flip upside down!! So I got to enjoy the whole experience ! After our class finished our flights, we got to see an amazing performance by Terrell and this other dude. Impressive and entertaining. So much talent displayed!!! Side note: even if you close your mouth, drool gonna come out. If you got powerful salivary glands, prepare to get wet. Heehee . You'll know what I mean when you hit this place up read more

iFly changed our reservation, for their own convenience, to an hour earlier than booked. I arrived two minutes after the reservation time and was denied from participating with my group. The reason provided was it would take the folks at the desk two extra minutes to print a wristband, and they refused to do that. (Despite that I was there in plenty of time to complete the liability waiver and view the full instruction video.) Another member of our group was refused participation because he was slightly too heavy and they did not have staff on hand to have two instructors in the wind tunnel with him. Sorry I was late, iFly. I won't be again. read more

This is the kids 4th time doing indoor skydiving. We have been to both the SF Bay and Sacramento tunnels. Both are similar in that the instructors are nice. This time we ran 1 hour late due to a large group/party. Bad scheduling I think. I happens. If it's your first time, you should pay the extra $10 to do the 'high fly' as it's pretty awesome. They take you up to the top of the tunnel, spinning. If you go to the SF Bay, first realize that there will be limited parking. They have about 10 parking spots and they are always full. There is a small drive to the right that allows you to park in a different lot. Major Tip 1: after you are done flying, at the counter, you have the chance to buy return flights at a huge discount. For example, it's $229.00 for 10 flights if you purchase online. If you buy after flying, it's $159.00 for the 10 flights. The tickets are good indefinitely. Major Tip 2: take a picture of the return flight voucher as you only need the code to book online. That way if you lose or misplace it, it's on your phone. read more

We went to iFly today on our Staycation. We had great fun!! My 14 year old and I flew and would go back in a heartbeat! The training was simple and straightforward. The hand signals are how the instructors communicate with you in the tube. Mason was our instructor and Lawrence took us on the high flights. Both are spectacular, personable and I think they have one of the most fun jobs ever! One suggestion is, adjust the air speed before the next person gets in the tube. The kid ahead of me might have been 50 pounds. MIGHT!! I am not a small adult, but obviously needed more wind than he did. Poor Mason was struggling to get me, almost 200 pounds, in the right position and in the air until they bumped up the wind strength. You can fly up to 300 pounds... so if they struggled with me, I'm not sure how challenging it would be for them. I feared I'd hurt Mason! That's what the one star off is for. It was just awkward while he struggled with me until the air increased. read more

The experience of iFLY [completely independent of pricing] is excellent. They do a fantastic job of educating flyers, scaffolding the experience of new flyers, and promoting safety. From arrival to departure, we had a great time! The staff is very kind, and assuring, and our instructor (Randy) was energetic and encouraging. He also put on a great flying show after we all took our turns in the tunnel! My two complaints apply more to the corporate level and not the wonderful staff at iFLY SF Bay. The price is very, very steep for only 120 seconds of flight time, but it does include the short training course, equipment, and some media depending on your package. The experience inside the tunnel is very intense, so 120 seconds is probably plenty for a first-timer. However, it is the steep price which deters me from returning anytime soon - if it were cheaper, I might come back a couple more times per year with friends and family. There are discounts for "frequent flyers," but that discount isn't deep enough for me to rush back. This was our second time visiting iFLY, and the last time we went was about 6 years ago because we had so many other less expensive, and more fulfilling/time-consuming activities in the area to choose from (ice skating, Top Golf, Boardwalk, Bowling, etc.). It was a fun, but very expensive novelty. The only other weak point of our experience was the photos and video. They are dark, under-exposed, and look nothing like the bright, well-lit photos in the advertisements. In the age of social media, it would be advisable for the company to install better lighting and higher quality cameras in their tunnels. Even if people have to pay a high price for a short time in the tunnel, at the very least they could get some epic photos to post to Instagram. read more

Came on an off-peak day. Staff couldn't have been friendlier, especially with the kids. Very simple check-in process and it's very efficient. They did accidentally overcharge me by almost $40, for things I didn't order and/or told me would be free. But when I pointed it out to them, they accommodated me and adjusted the bill. Everybody makes mistakes and they owned up to it, so no real complaints. Bryant was our instructor and did a great job. This place isn't cheap, but they have a lot of employees and rent to pay, so it's not like they're being super greedy. "We paid for the time, NOT experience". I took my son and his friend there. My son was getting nervous so the staff didn't get him fly in his team. I thought we might try another time but the manager told me that what we paid was for the time, once the time passed, it was paid. The staff gave my son's fly time to his friend instead. I argued that such decision was not even given to customers at all. If my son was not ready, at least we could save this chance to next time. The manager was rude and kept saying I was "making a thing". His voice was actually much louder than me, and threatened to call policeman while I was making a phone call with my husband discussing if we should pay new ticket for this. The staff was friendly while their manager was no any respect to customers. He was trying hard to let us go quickly so no people around know why I complained about. I agreed with other feedback that there was no frequent sanitizing in a small room. All people was gathered in small room for the "class". Some equipments are soon reused by others. I took my wife here for her birthday. Well, it was actually something I really wanted to try myself too. We arrived at the appointed time and filled out some paperwork. During the orientation, our instructor went through the basics with us and then we got suited up. There were total six of us and we took turns going into the chute. I have jumped out of a plane at 15,000 ft before. And I can say for sure that was probably my first and my last free fall in the open air. What was I thinking right? when there's an indoor substitute that seems a lot safer. As a person who has a fear of height but still itches for a sense of thrill, I wanted it in a controlled environment. The instructor was right there in the wind tunnel with each of us, giving me confidence to maneuver on my own. But it felt too short and time was already up. We all had a blast though! read more

After that you go into the wind tunnel and do various moves! For us, I believe we got the basic package but bought extra time so we could go twice. From what I recall, it's quite pricey so just a heads up! The instructors are really professional, great at explaining concepts and how to handle the wind tunnel, and are excellent indoor skydivers themselves. We did two one minute sessions each where the first session we were getting the hang of everything and just learning how to balance, float and have proper form. The second time our instructor brought us up to the top of the wind tunnel and we were even spinning! They even take a bunch of videos and pictures which you can purchase later in-person or on their website. After that he even did a little show for us showing all their cool tricks and technique! Overall, the staff was nice and friendly; but is quite pricey so be aware! read more
