Not great, not terrible. Typical chain steakhouse about average…read more There are not many choices for eating at locally owned restaurants in Gallatin so many locals settle for this which is admittedly better than the competition across the street. Don't let the western decor fool you into thinking there is any level of authenticity to your experience. You are going to get a menu with food quality determined by a mega corporation. Steaks are small, pork chops and chicken are processed. Meat quality overall is definitely low end. We went several nights while here because we didn't feel like driving to Nashville to eat. Very busy on the weekend. Our service was good but the kitchen screwed up a couple of times. Best items were the Old Fashioned, which was a nice stiff cocktail and the baked potato which was perfectly done. Chopped salad was decent and the complimentary bread is good. Skip the pork chops and skip the Texas Tea which was very weak.

And everything in between. I've eaten at a lot of premiere steak houses, high-end restaurants, prix fixe menus etc. This LongHorn is punching well above its class. Now, don't get me wrong, when you walk in here expect that corporate cut of meat, and a similar selection. But also expect it to be cooked perfectly, expect one of the best cocktails you can get in Gallatin (unfortunately, I'm not kidding) expect great service. More importantly, expect some of the best VALUE you can find for miles. This place is becoming that go to spot for special occasions. A crowd pleaser every time. Execution is 10/10 and that's rare today. It surprises me every time.

I'm a big guy and the booth table was a tight fit for me, however there were no open tables with chairs. We decided to not let tat ruin our experience. My wife ordered the 8 oz. prime rib, I ordered the rib eye and our friend ordered the 8oz. filet. None of us had ANY complaints about the quality nor quantity of our meals. As a matter of fact, I will say that this is the BEST rib eye I can recall having eaten. Our server, Abbey, was right on top of our needs before we knew we needed her. The restaurant was clean and inviting and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Kudos Chop House, we will be back!

It's is a complete joke for no other reason than they just don't seem to care. Not a staffing issue as I've seen in other reviews in my particular case. Came in yesterday (Saturday) morning alone for breakfast. There were two other tables of 2-3 people in the whole place when I arrived so place was maybe at 10% capacity. Both tables already had their food. There was no staff present when I walked in so I sat at the bar, the bartender was also not present. I sat there for 10 minutes or so before anyone came out. The waitress that did eventually come out but walked by me to check her tables and didn't pay me any attention and then disappeared into the back again. She went back and forth a few times continuing to check tables and not address me or send out the bartender. As I was about to leave she came over without a word, dropped a menu, didn't take a drink order and walked away. I've been here for 30 minutes or so now finally and have a menu and no other acknowledgement I exist. Finally the bartender comes out from the back and asks what he can get me. I ask him for a cup of coffee and before I can say anything else he disappears into the back. I was fully ready to order but figured he was grabbing it and coming right back. He was literally in the back ANOTHER 20 minutes and when he finally returned without the coffee he said he was making a fresh pot. He finally returns with the coffee (in a paper to go cup? This is a sit down morning brunch) and takes my order. I ordered waffles and waited. I've been here nearly an hour now in a practically empty restaurant and just now ordering. Another table comes in, gets sat, and eventually gets their food. I'm still waiting. The bartender pops back out for a second, sees me looking royally pissed at this point and I point at the new table eating and motion back at him like what the hell is going on? He walk over and says "I burned all your waffles and had to start over." Ok... what's it take to cook a waffle... 2-3 minutes? We're 90 minutes deep at this point. Finally someone else appears with my order. Again I will be fair, when I did finally get it the order was pretty good however at this point I had a 10-15 minutes before I had to be somewhere else. I wasn't expecting breakfast to take two hours. I ate about half of it and asked for the check. They dropped it without a word and I paid and left. Let me say I grew up working in restaurants and bars and I can be very understanding of a full restaurant that's understaffed and doing their best. THIS WAS NOT THAT. They literally just did not care. To say this place is grossly mismanaged would to be implied that someone is managing it at all, which doesn't seem to be the case. The food was good but not good enough to deal with this again anytime soon.

It is right on the water so not only will you see others driving there you will also see those who live on the water boating to it. Whenever I eat here I always want to either move into a houseboat or get a house on the water so I can just boat up to it in my shorts and boat shoes. The food varied in quality depending on the time of day and day of the week you go. You will find it is lower during the week than on the weekend, but it is never bad. I have never had a poor food experience, I just find the cook and the seasoning is different during the week. We have ordered just about every combo on the menu and usually enjoy it all. **For the new rebrand, still see if you can be seated in the area facing the water, that way you can look out at ducks and such while waiting for food and eating. Parking is still plentiful but usually full close by, if you have someone with a handicap and no handicap sticker drop them off and loop around to find your spot. While you are waiting for your table you can go outside and feed the ducks and enjoy the outside atmosphere. They have a speaker system outside so you can roam freely and still hear your name when called.

We found a table, ordered some drinks and hung out until 5pm. There was a variety of patrons trickling in from families with young kids to older folks with their friends enjoying a cold beer on a hot day. Overall a lot of activity for people watching while we waited for the kitchen to open. We looked out at the marina and enjoyed the water view as the tables at the bar, high top and low top tables filled up. The servers were not attentive or friendly but they got the job done. We ordered the meatball with mashed potato shareable and a chicken sandwich with avocado, grilled onions and cheese on a brioche bun. The French fries that came with the sandwich were really good and the avocado was very fresh. I enjoyed the quality of the chicken but the brioche bun did not hold up to the sandwich and I had to eat it with a knife and fork. The meatballs showed up as with pasta instead of mashed potatoes like stated on the menu. The waitress didn't know why. Overall the atmosphere and shaded patio looking out at the marina are a great vibe and the food was good. They had a band playing at 8pm that started setting up while we were there. Next time we will go later for the music. The back of the menu says they will be starting a mimosa brunch soon...looking forward to that too!
