Got some filets, shrimp and fish. All were very fresh and delicious. It's a little on the expensive side but I believe the value held up.

I attended the 3-hr Beginner Cheese Making Workshop- Demonstration Class at Standing Stone Farms…read more The class was taught by Paula in her home. For about the first hour we were seated and she went over the history of cheese, how it was discovered, and how it was cultivated. I found that all pretty interesting! I love cheese, but I'd never really thought about how it came to be, lol. She then proceeded to talk about the process of making cheese and butter. Then we did a little hands on participation activity where we got to make our own "shake" butter, and then sampled it along with some crackers and seasonings. After, Paula started making ricotta and mozzarella cheeses and walked us through the process step by step. This part was not hands on for the attendees, but still pretty cool to watch and informative. When the cheeses were made, we got to help ourselves to plenty of samples! I really enjoyed the fresh ricotta... especially when mixed with fruit and vanilla! Overall, pretty neat experience! I was hoping we'd actually get to make some cheese ourselves, but I at least left with the knowledge on how, and a booklet with directions! This class would be excellent for a date.. especially as it's bring your own wine :)

The short of it is I'll never buy store-bought butter again, and my mother says she'll never buy store-bought Ricota cheese ever again!! The class had a great pace and the size was perfect to be able to fully delve in and learn. Paula has a wealth of knowledge from the history of cheese to Nubian goats and cooking. It was an absolute delight to be there today. The options and possibilities for cheese making are endless and I can't wait to get involved in making my own cheese at home!! Go to their website, check out their cheese classes and supplies and don't miss an opportunity like this. You won't be disappointed!! The step-by-step instructions and the attention to detail are so great and if followed properly cheese making can be achieved---at home!! Thanks again Paula & Standing Stone Farms!! TB & EB

5 star review because she had plenty of water (inside joke referring to a previous yelpers review)…read more The camaraderie and friendships formed during the class was very genuine (wish I would've gotten the peoples Instagrams or Facebook info)!! Maryanne made it feel like we were home! Super informative on how to make a genuine, homemade biscuit. There is an art and process to making the perfect biscuit. This is a must do when in Nashville...you won't be disappointed. The location and building is unassuming but once you are inside you feel the love

Love love loved this class, probably one of our most fun things to do in Nashville! Maryann Bird…read morewas kind, welcoming, patient and quite the Ambassador for the Music City. She clearly knows her biscuits! The location was unexpected and a little hard to find. Ms. Bird explained that her husband actually owned the little industrial park and when her classes got larger, instead of continuing to teach at her home, she fashioned a charming kitchen in the back of the building. There aren't any signs from the street, yet, so it's awkward driving around when you don't know what you are looking for. But one quick call and we were united with the other 12 people waiting for the class to begin. Maryann did a great job of explaining her credentials and how she fell in love with biscuits. She made biscuits right in front of us, talking us thru the process while making everyone comfortable with one another. She answered questions. She educated us about substitutions. And then she served us each one of those biscuits, complete with sausage gravy, to enjoy. After each table (there were about 6?) was given the tools and materials to make their own flour-y butter soaked delicacies. While those were cooking? Pictures, clean up, and a few products for sale (we picked up some biscuit cutters!) It was a great day, and wasn't affected by the heat OR scattered thunderstorms! Thankful for a fun activity we could enjoy even when we got back home. Lots of couples, moms and their adult children, girls on a Nashville weekend. Highly recommend
