As with every buffet all the food is mid but what shined was the crab rangoons (I probably ate my body weight in them), and I loved the honey chicken! The egg rolls were good I dip mine in soy sauce and it helped bring a deeper flavor. What I did not like was the General Taos I normally love general but this was not it... the sushi was pretty good but the rice sticks together with other pieces but you can put whatever sauce you want over it. For dessert the vanilla pudding, and chocolate pudding was good and the ice cream cups were really good! My favorite thing was the Rangoons! It was a nice little Chinese buffet although 53 min from Branson it's the best in the area in my opinion. Lots of options fresh food and sushi they also had a hibachi table for fresh made stir frys. Server was friendly and attentive refills came quickly and for 30 bucks for 2 you couldn't beat the price. People were very nice everything looked good and tasted pretty good as well! First time eating there. Only suggestion I would recommend the staff not to roll silverware in front of everyone if you're not wearing gloves and the silverware is facing up. Really not good food. Nothing was worth going back for. The Mongolian BBQ was a joke (please remove the sign on the side of your building indicating Mongolian BBQ if you cant do better). The guy took the bowl of ingredients I picked out and dumped them into a wok full of hot water.... He then walked away and left them sit for over 5 minutes. When he finally came back he poured the now soggy, cabbage, onion, beef etc into a strainer to drain the water. At that point he dumped everything onto the actual grill for about 20 seconds before sliding it into a bowl !?!. What the.... So no char on the cabbage, onions, beef or anything else. Just a soggy bowl of limp vegetables and gray beef... unreal. Do better or do the public a favor and close down or sell the business to someone who can actually offer what they advertise. read more

Run far away! We went here on a Sunday around 12pm expecting a good experience, but received the horror show, video attached. We all went up to choose our food and sat down at the table and the first red flag was the food was lukewarm, nothing tasted fresh. We got about halfway through when my son goes " Oh gross, I'm done. There's a fly in my chicken." We examined and I took a video to show incase that they came and rushed off with the plate. We spoke to the manager who offered 1/2 off, I told him that it was disgusting and we will not be back and he told us that we could leave, which is what we did. I want to be as fair as possible in this review, since I visited during unusual weather circumstances that had some local restaurants closed. I arrived during an ice storm, and was one of only 3 customers eating. The General Tso's chicken tasted fresh and I was thankful for it after a stressful afternoon of driving in ice and snow. The cream cheese rangoons were also quite good and tasted fairly fresh. The only real disappointment was items from the sushi bar. They were dried out, and it was evident they had been out for at least a couple of hours. I want to be generous on the sushi. Sushi in general has a short shelf life on a buffet, and on a night when only a couple of other people were brave enough to venture out and eat, I'm sure the restaurant was doing its best to cut spoilage loss by not rotating lots of fresh sushi onto the buffet. Given the quality and freshness of the other items I sampled, I am willing to give the benefit of the doubt in the sushi and believe that on a better night it would have been fresh and delicious. The establishment was very clean, and the service was prompt and cheerful. I liked that the lighting was bright and clear. Dark dining areas are a big turnoff for me. As far as buffets go, this is one of the better ones I have visited. I will make an effort to visit again the next time I am in Springfield. read more

Regarding the food, none of the buffet chinese food tasted remotely like it had seasoning or spices that tasted anything like chinese food.... The chicken wings were somewhat warm, fresh and tender, but had zero taste, no salt, pepper, garlic...no taste. If these wings were hot and had dipping sauce or coated in a nice sauce, they would be excellent! Oddly enough, and the reason for the one star, the fried chicken legs were excellent, and did not have one single spice on it... Tender, tasty due to the light breading and chicken...So if you want good fried chicken, go to Ichiban buffet.... Tasted a small sample of several items and other than the crab rangoon and eggroll, absolutely no flavor or taste... Pizza looked burnt and why eat pizza at a chinese buffet? In general the food was not hot, but only luke warm...by the time you got back to the table...yeah, edible... This is about the time I wished I went somewhere else... Service? One man came to ask how everything was but I never saw him or the waitress again, no refill. I was glad my bill was $11 and some change... BEST DUMPLINGS I have ever eaten in the USA! I worked and lived in NE China many years ago for work. This region were known for their dumplings. This is the first place I have eaten such authentic food. They were made with care and attention to detail. Well done and congratulations to this place. After a long, dreadful day at work, the only thing I could think of to drown the pain was some mongorrian buffet. I enjoyed the nice cozy feel while I chowed down on a disgusting amount of crab rangoons, rating them a 6.3/10 (wish they were standard goon size). I did enjoy the good service as well, getting refills on my water almost any time I wished. I also was a big fan of the coconut shrimp that gave me a nice warm and refreshing taste, cleansing my palate of my duck sauce. Although I did enjoy the sushi quite well, my friends Oliver and cam were disappointed in the lack of "wetness" of it. Some recommendations I would give to the lovely folks of Ichiban would be to have the TVs on, preferably showing Monday night football on ESPN. I would not recommend eating here unless you want the worst case of food poisoning in your life. My wife and I ate here twice. Both times we both got sick from the food. The food both times on most of the items on the buffet were lukewarm. Rather then putting fresh pans of food on the buffet when a item gets low the employees dump fresh pans on top of the old. The coconut shrimp is waaay to sweet . And a lot of the items on the buffet lack flavor. The soups on the buffet are not very hot. The dessert bar is pathetic. Also the employees ( most of them don't speak or understand English) but don't let them fool you. Many of them do but pretend they don't. This place is doing the bare minimum regarding health regulations to stay open. Watched a few customers take the bottle of hot sauce meant for everyone back to their table instead of putting some into a sauce cup. Touched this bottle with their barehands, kept it their entire meal. When the workers cleaned off the table they did nothing to sanitize the bottle. They just put it back on the counter for people to use. What's the point in requiring masks and gloves when they don't even sanitize their things? Also, food was burnt and old. I've eaten here a half dozen times and Ichiban wavers between 3-4 stars. Get here at peak periods and the food trays are regularly replenished. I arrived about 7pm and some trays were nearly empty, sushi was very tired looking, fried calamari wasn't changed and was chewy to being inedible, and other items were passed prime. This is not a mega-buffet but there are enough standard Chinese dishes and non-Chinese options to keep everyone in your party happy. There's also a hibachi grill, so you can create your own entree with raw ingredients and have it cooked for you. Service is always good, though, and staff work hard to keep the place family friendly. They're constantly tidying and restrooms are always clean and kept up. read more

When we were leaving I asked for a sprite to go. The gentleman came back with an empty cup and poured my watered down drink into it.
