It was a nice little Chinese buffet although 53 min from Branson it's the best in the area in my opinion. Lots of options fresh food and sushi they also had a hibachi table for fresh made stir frys. Server was friendly and attentive refills came quickly and for 30 bucks for 2 you couldn't beat the price. The sushi selection could be improved. Upon our visit, crab sushi rolls were the only offering. The other food items were just okay, aside from the mini crab Rangoons, which were fya. The rangoons didnt make up for the desserts though, which tasted strange. The experience could've been classified as fine, if not for the dirty condiments. People were very nice everything looked good and tasted pretty good as well! First time eating there. Only suggestion I would recommend the staff not to roll silverware in front of everyone if you're not wearing gloves and the silverware is facing up. This place is great! You can eat keto and carnivore here. And if you eat everything, it is delicious. My favorite thing to eat here is the custard. It's so unassuming but it is so good. Love the service too. They are attentive. They keep the place clean. The food is very fresh. read more

First time at this Chinese buffet. Loved the sushi--wide variety! Some of the best calamari I have ever eaten. The very best steamed noodles I have ever had. The roast beef was tender and succulent. Really not good food. Nothing was worth going back for. The Mongolian BBQ was a joke (please remove the sign on the side of your building indicating Mongolian BBQ if you cant do better). The guy took the bowl of ingredients I picked out and dumped them into a wok full of hot water.... He then walked away and left them sit for over 5 minutes. When he finally came back he poured the now soggy, cabbage, onion, beef etc into a strainer to drain the water. At that point he dumped everything onto the actual grill for about 20 seconds before sliding it into a bowl !?!. What the.... So no char on the cabbage, onions, beef or anything else. Just a soggy bowl of limp vegetables and gray beef... unreal. Do better or do the public a favor and close down or sell the business to someone who can actually offer what they advertise. read more

Run far away! We went here on a Sunday around 12pm expecting a good experience, but received the horror show, video attached. We all went up to choose our food and sat down at the table and the first red flag was the food was lukewarm, nothing tasted fresh. We got about halfway through when my son goes " Oh gross, I'm done. There's a fly in my chicken." We examined and I took a video to show incase that they came and rushed off with the plate. We spoke to the manager who offered 1/2 off, I told him that it was disgusting and we will not be back and he told us that we could leave, which is what we did. I am sure I've been several years ago and I remember it being remarkably good years ago.... Now? In late 2023...Nope... Regarding the food, none of the buffet chinese food tasted remotely like it had seasoning or spices that tasted anything like chinese food.... The chicken wings were somewhat warm, fresh and tender, but had zero taste, no salt, pepper, garlic...no taste. If these wings were hot and had dipping sauce or coated in a nice sauce, they would be excellent! Oddly enough, and the reason for the one star, the fried chicken legs were excellent, and did not have one single spice on it... Tender, tasty due to the light breading and chicken...So if you want good fried chicken, go to Ichiban buffet.... Tasted a small sample of several items and other than the crab rangoon and eggroll, absolutely no flavor or taste... Pizza looked burnt and why eat pizza at a chinese buffet? In general the food was not hot, but only luke warm...by the time you got back to the table...yeah, edible... This is about the time I wished I went somewhere else... Service? One man came to ask how everything was but I never saw him or the waitress again, no refill. I was glad my bill was $11 and some change... Ambiance is a bland, old chinese restaurant building decor...Carpets are dirty..Building looks old and decor is dated from the 80's or 90's... The feeling you get when you cannot wait to leave... That is what I felt... Walking out to the car, I wanted to tell the people going in my experience, but opted not to... I want to be as fair as possible in this review, since I visited during unusual weather circumstances that had some local restaurants closed. I arrived during an ice storm, and was one of only 3 customers eating. The General Tso's chicken tasted fresh and I was thankful for it after a stressful afternoon of driving in ice and snow. The cream cheese rangoons were also quite good and tasted fairly fresh. The only real disappointment was items from the sushi bar. They were dried out, and it was evident they had been out for at least a couple of hours. I want to be generous on the sushi. Sushi in general has a short shelf life on a buffet, and on a night when only a couple of other people were brave enough to venture out and eat, I'm sure the restaurant was doing its best to cut spoilage loss by not rotating lots of fresh sushi onto the buffet. Given the quality and freshness of the other items I sampled, I am willing to give the benefit of the doubt in the sushi and believe that on a better night it would have been fresh and delicious. The establishment was very clean, and the service was prompt and cheerful. I liked that the lighting was bright and clear. Dark dining areas are a big turnoff for me. As far as buffets go, this is one of the better ones I have visited. I will make an effort to visit again the next time I am in Springfield. read more

I would not recommend eating here unless you want the worst case of food poisoning in your life. My wife and I ate here twice. Both times we both got sick from the food. The food both times on most of the items on the buffet were lukewarm. Rather then putting fresh pans of food on the buffet when a item gets low the employees dump fresh pans on top of the old. The coconut shrimp is waaay to sweet . And a lot of the items on the buffet lack flavor. The soups on the buffet are not very hot. The dessert bar is pathetic. Also the employees ( most of them don't speak or understand English) but don't let them fool you. Many of them do but pretend they don't. Over heard two employees speaking perfect English while making rude comments about a table of customers. Service is pretty bad too. Server barely came by for refills. As for the ambiance of the place? Pretty run down looking. Like it's barely hanging on . Horrible experience. read more

BEST DUMPLINGS I have ever eaten in the USA! I worked and lived in NE China many years ago for work. This region were known for their dumplings. This is the first place I have eaten such authentic food. They were made with care and attention to detail. Well done and congratulations to this place. It's rare to discover such a treat, so I apologize over the detail. You dumpling fans are out there and understand what I mean. Springfield has many great restaurants, but for a buffet, its outstanding!! Lots of parking, decent price, all staff were observing safety rules as was entire restaurant. After a long, dreadful day at work, the only thing I could think of to drown the pain was some mongorrian buffet. I enjoyed the nice cozy feel while I chowed down on a disgusting amount of crab rangoons, rating them a 6.3/10 (wish they were standard goon size). I did enjoy the good service as well, getting refills on my water almost any time I wished. I also was a big fan of the coconut shrimp that gave me a nice warm and refreshing taste, cleansing my palate of my duck sauce. Although I did enjoy the sushi quite well, my friends Oliver and cam were disappointed in the lack of "wetness" of it. Some recommendations I would give to the lovely folks of Ichiban would be to have the TVs on, preferably showing Monday night football on ESPN. Can you believe I almost missed Chris Stapleton singing in the pregame? Part of the reason I was late getting home also was because i was contemplating my life after reading my fortune cookie- saying I was gonna start a personal relationship soon.. probably the last thing I wanna hear when Im chowing down on some Asian cuisine with the fellas. The building from the outside makes it looks like it's a huge magnificent buffet so I had a good expectations for it, especially for the local Google reviews but that wasn't it. The drinks were flat and all carbonation, even after get a new drink. The food was hit and miss on quality and temperature. Things that should be kept cold like the hibachi were not in a safe temperature to use and most of the hot food you can tell has been sitting for a while. It's your typical stereotypical decorated Chinese buffet. They replaced thier chairs a year or so ago, but never bothered to have the carpets cleaned, wash and paint the walls, or clean the tile floor around the buffet line. The owners need to take a bit more pride in their restaurant. So what about the food..... It exactly like all other Chinese Buffet food. I will pont out the items to avoid instead of reviewing the food that I find good. Hot and Sour Soup, taste like a moldy wet sock, Pepper Chicken is missing the pepper. It once was good with jalapeno's and flavor, today not so much. General Tso Chicken, where is the spicy. This place is doing the bare minimum regarding health regulations to stay open. Watched a few customers take the bottle of hot sauce meant for everyone back to their table instead of putting some into a sauce cup. Touched this bottle with their barehands, kept it their entire meal. When the workers cleaned off the table they did nothing to sanitize the bottle. They just put it back on the counter for people to use. What's the point in requiring masks and gloves when they don't even sanitize their things? Also, food was burnt and old. Dishes you grab for food were slightly dirty. Probably the most unexciting, dirty Chinese buffet experience I've had. read more

I've eaten here a half dozen times and Ichiban wavers between 3-4 stars. Get here at peak periods and the food trays are regularly replenished. I arrived about 7pm and some trays were nearly empty, sushi was very tired looking, fried calamari wasn't changed and was chewy to being inedible, and other items were passed prime. This is not a mega-buffet but there are enough standard Chinese dishes and non-Chinese options to keep everyone in your party happy. There's also a hibachi grill, so you can create your own entree with raw ingredients and have it cooked for you. Service is always good, though, and staff work hard to keep the place family friendly. They're constantly tidying and restrooms are always clean and kept up. read more

If zero is available, I would give for this Buffett. The worst Buffett I have ever ate. I came in with 3 of my friends, we were excited to try this buffet out because of the Mongolia grill offer. However each of us start pick out our selection and sat down to take a bite. The food was cold, we are feel weird and decided to leave. We pay full price and let the manager know that the food was bad and we are not satisfied. This Buffet is terrible from especially for the price. The workers who are not Chinese don't speak English. Although they are nice unlike the other staff. Hostess is extremely condescending. Almost started barking when asking what drinks everyone wanted from a party of seven and not everybody was as fast as she thought they should be. Food is only mediocre at best. When we were leaving I asked for a sprite to go. The gentleman came back with an empty cup and poured my watered down drink into it. Ichiban Buffet has a wide variety of food from, a salad bar, a sushi bar, and a hot plate bar. Their service is a 10/10, and they get your drinks, and let you get your food, and their always really nice. The ambience is styled from Japan, and is really cool, when you get the food, you can get more than 1 plate when you need more food. read more
