Great little hole in the wall. This isn't a big sit down restaurant so don't expect to dine. But the food is good. Very consistent. It's the usual huge menu that you find in all other small Chinese restaurant. Everything from sweet and sour chicken, to combination fried rice, to pork lo mein. Great for carry-out. read more

I ordered chicken and broccoli my food the chicken was raw I asked for them to cook it more and they refused so I asked if I could just get something else they also refused expecting me to eat raw chicken after spending good money I will never come here again terrible service read more

New China - My raw chicken and broccoli - Chinese Near Me - Springfield, Missouri

egg rolls and chicken lo mein were delicious! i'm just bitter because they didn't give me utensils after i asked for them. food is reasonably priced for how good it is! read more

Prices are reasonable, portions are large, but I found the food to be underwhelming. While on a road-trip pit stop in Springfield, my dad and I picked up some New China takeout for dinner. There isn't a whole lot to say about the experience. They were only offering take-out, no sit down dining, but the service was friendly and we didn't have to wait too long for our food. The food itself, sadly, was not as good as I had hoped. I ordered orange chicken with chow mein. The chow mein was a bit rubbery and the orange chicken was over-breaded and over-sauced. I ended up only eating half of my meal, partly because I didn't find it all that good and partly because there was so much food. I wish I had the opportunity to try more of their offerings and potentially update this review. Unfortunately, based on my experience New China sits solidly at 3 starts. read more

Stopped here on way through to Texas. Was empty when we walked in and ordered but has been non stop people since. Food was good. Crab Rangoon are very full which is rare at Chinese restaurants. Hot and sour soup had little spice to it. General Tso was good. Also the dragon and phoenix was good. read more

Food is great. Our favorite Chinese. I always call ahead to order and go into pick up and the service is great.

Food and service was good. About what you'd expect from a small chinese restaurant. Had the general tso with fried rice and spring rolls. Was enough food for two meals. Not very much seating for eating in so I would recommend carry out. I will be back. read more

Meh. I'm just not a fan of "Americanized-Chinese." Everything is overly sweet, covered in gloppy sauce, and lacks the pizzazz of authentic Chinese. But, alas, my parents enjoy this type of Chinese food, and their opinion of it would be 4 or 5 stars. I ended up tagging along with them after they insisted on going. After waiting an obscene amount of time for our food to come out, I'll admit that I did enjoy the General Tso's chicken and the crabrangoons. However, very little else caught my attention, even though my parents cajoled me into trying a little bit of everything they ordered. There are definitely better places for Chinese, but if you're wanting typical American Chinese fast food, it's probably not a bad option. read more

New China - menus at a fast food restaurant - Chinese Near Me - Springfield, Missouri

This review is about the Singapore Mei. Fun at New China. While most people don't depend on one dish to review a restaurant I am not most people. The Singapore Mei fun at New China is a little spicy, a little dry like I like it, noodles are amazing and the portion is absurdLu large. In addition, if you are looking for hot oil and red chilies the hot chili oil sauce at New China is among the best in Springfield - if not the best. Other food they serve looks good, and the service is great. Prices are reasonable. I recommend everyone in Springfield try the Singapore Mei fun at New China. read more

Says they deliver when you look them up but they don't actually deliver. You have to go through uber eats or grubhub. And then it's$10 more in just fees and tax. read more

This place has one of the best tasting Chinese foods in town. Egg rolls are the perfect size. They are also fast and friendly. Do recommend to everyone. read more

Usually stop here when I'm in town. The lunch menu is the best cause it comes with soup and etc. I usually get the lo mein with chicken, pork and beef. Also I get the egg drop soup. My sister loves the fried chicken wings. And my dad loves the garlic chicken and their hot and sour soup. read more

There is a large selection of various meals to choose from. Rice? Totally uncertain of what and how much..and you can add to your meal for extra $$. You'd think this part would be straight forward. Nope! And my rice came 19 mins into my meal, which was half gone as the teammates I was with were about done their meals. I like another review, because the put it better than I can - service is non emotional. They could not care less if you are there, except you seemingly interrupted their sleep, in wanting to place your order. The person rushing plates to the table seemed to care, but it was at best drop and run. You are not a customer, the customer is not always right, take it or not, and hurry up and leave. I think the cashier and a few others have worked there too long . But food was filling, good portion, and hot...the only real reason to go back. Maybe. It would be nice if someone took a more recent that 4 year old menu. Life and costs has changed! read more

Really good for take out Chinese. The steamed dumpings and chicken teriyaki are amazing. try the dragon and phoenix for entree or the beef lo-mein. It's really good. The space is small 20-30 seats. But the kitchen looks clean. never been in the bathrooms. the customer service is fair to decent. but the food is good for the price. its self-service for bussing but thats not a big issue, pretty typical for an americanized chinese resturant read more

The food is good here. The food is done quickly. However the workers are rude and unprofessional. Be prepared to be treated worthless, if you vary from the script of here is my order read more

Worst food I have ever eaten, called tried to talk to manager to give them a chance to correct the order he was never in. They would NOT RETURN MY CALL...Tryed to blame the bad food on GrubHub ....Grub Hub DID NOT COOK THE FOOD and chicken was so tuff my dogs couldn't even eat it . It had absolutely NO flavor. They neither replaced any of the food or gave me any of my money back ($40.00) NEVER EVEN SAID I'M SORRY I don't know how they stay in business RUDEST PEOPLE I'VE EVER DEALT WITH...BUT HEY GRUBHUB WAS ON TIME AND VERY NICE read more

They serve you on a paper plate. The booth seats are somehow shaky. I wouldn't even call this place a restaurant

Ordered through uber eats. Took 30 minutes longer than originally estimated. Worth the wait. And with covid, kinda expected. Forgot the egg roll in pepper steak combo, but would still order again. A lot of good food. Tasty! Soup, chicken fried rice and entree will make 2 meals for 2 (average) people. read more

Decently food but definitely not worth the $1019.39 they charged my card. I signed the receipt for 16.03, I guess thought they needed a $1000.00 tip. This caused both my accounts to be locked since it overdrew one account by hundreds of dollars. Also they could have called and give me some notice since I give them my number with my order but but I found out when my card declined for a $3 coffee. They also could have answered my call today but they didn't. The could have responded to my email today. So basically they are not remorseful for grossly overcharging me. read more

Food was decent. I would prefer 3 1/2 stars as they messed up my order. Door Dash delivered it to the wrong house and just left it on the porch. read more

This is a good old fashioned New York style Chinese take out place. In a place like Springfield MO were "Chinese" food has it's own subculture, New China is a refreshing and familiar taste for a former "Coasty". I recommend General Tso's chicken, Sweet and Sour Shrimp and the dumplings. read more

Stopped by here for a late lunch today and was sorely disappointed. I took a chance after reading the reviews and it didn't pan out. After placing a to-go order for a General Chicken combo, I was told it would be ready in 10 minutes so I was hopeful it would be fresh. I walked next door to GameStop and came back in less than 10 minutes and grabbed my food. I drove straight home (less than 10 minutes) and dug in. The sauce was congealed, the chicken was chewy, and the egg roll was tough. The fried rice was decent. read more

I really wanted to like it. Looks like a mom and pop kinda place. And I LOVE Chinese food. Ordered hot tea, steamed & fried dumplings, crab Rangoon, and the moo shu pork (one of my all time favorites!) With that being said.....for the hot tea we were given one generic black tea bag and told to get hot water out of the water machine in a styrofoam cup. The dumplings were so doughy they were unappetizing and tasted bad. The crab Rangoon was excessively greasy and sweet...yes, oddly enough they were sweet. The Moo Shu pork was mediocre at best and served without plum sauce. When I asked the young lady working at the counter if we could get some plum sauce she had no idea what I was talking about. A few minutes later and older gentleman brought out a small container of it. With the way it tasted, I was better off without it. Like I said in the beginning, I really wanted to like this place. But it was not good. I felt like it was a total waste of money. read more

We decided to give this spot a try. Our usual place is seriously right next door. The menu was very basic, and so was the food. Not terrible, but also not great. Seemed a bit pricy too. If I'm going to be over by there then I would just hit my usual spot.. read more

I agree the language barrier is somewhat of an issue but the food is really good. Don't understand the issue of "Americanized Chinese" if you want the "real deal" dude move to China and stop whining. 1) We live in America. 2) Ethnic people and food eventually become Americanized! What a great country! They forgot to put Cashews on my cashew chicken, and I went to the counter to get the cashews and a melee ensued! I stood back in amazement as the entire family yelled at each other in Mandarin or whatever they were yelling. LOL I just wanted the cashews, not a big deal !! But it was worth it! Food is good! Price is right! In response to the question of the restrooms they are brand-spanking new and I marvelled at the evenness of the grout. I noticed this as they purchased the building materials where I work and they did a great job. read more

I called 11:40 place order to go say I'll pick up at 1205 she calls back at 11:55 says my food is ready. Hmmmm I get there ask if food ready she says YES so I pay. Then I wait for them to cook. Needless t i say lunch break over $28 the dumplings great. Got a taste of the house soup....unsalted grease water. Have no idea about the rolls n rice I'm unhappy with this place because I made it clear I needed lunch ready 1/2 hour. I'm even more unhappy with her obvious understanding of honesty I'm even more unhappy with the lack of understanding of the language and the importance of treating customers like people not just the money. The poor quality of service and food will never get my money again. This place off the list. read more

Iv been searching Springfield for the best chinesse take out. Seems I've found it. The general tso's is great, the orange chicken is to die for. The fried rice is done just right. The sweat and sour chicken is great as well. Staff is friendly, albiet they are difficult to communicate with through there limited understanding of english, but iv always seen that as a good sign, and in this case it is. The prices are great and the place is clean. Highly recommend New china read more

The food here is AWESOME, the crabrangoon almost has too much filling! Thats very rare to find. The egg rolls were wayyyy to salty for my taste, but the entree's were so yummy! I'll definitly call ahead next time though, because the cashier was extremely impatient with us and rude. The lobby was the most awkward place i have ever been stuck in so long, id rather of waited in a doctors office. Very weird. read more

I've eaten here dozens of times and 90% of the time it's excellent. I have however noticed in the last few visits that the quality of their meat seems to have decreased. It used to be almost all white meat which is great now there's a lot of dark meat and just breaded idk what... they have good egg rolls but I wish they would cut the Cabbage a little finer you know what I mean ever try to eat an egg roll and half of it comes out of the skin in your mouth? This may seem kind of petty but I'm kind of put off by their water machine that they provide for customers to get their water with it drips out so slow you could takes 5 minutes to get a glass of water I think they could do better. All in all it's a pretty dang good place to eat and it's cheap especially for the lunch special and I'm sure I'll go back again but it seems like their quality has suffered lately. read more

FAVORITE Chinese in Springfield. Flavors are great and menu is extensive. Crab rangoons are greasy, creamy, and just sinfully delicious. Pork fried rice is awesome and their dumplings are big and juicy and to die for. Their lunch specials are ridiculous cheap and ridiculously good. Food gets 5 stars.. 1 star deduction for staff. They can be very hard to understand and forget about asking details.. communication can be very difficult and twice now I have received something different from what I ordered due to language barriers. Don't let this scare you though. Honestly I couldn't even be mad because the mix ups turned out to be delicious! haha read more

Stumbled across New China after exiting highway 44 and looking for something the whole family could eat. 3 of the 4 of us are vegetarian, including one gluten free person. According to the counter clerk all of the dishes on the vegetable portion of the menu are vegetarian. The mushu vegetable dish was particularly good, although note that it does have egg in it. Spring rolls are also veg. No detectable meat in any of the items we ordered. Sauce was a little on the heavy/oily side, but still tasty. Kids liked their dish of tofu and vegetables. Not spicy at all. Nor was the mixed vegetable dish. read more

This place has the best crab Rangoon in town hands down. They are Amazing. I always get the hot and spicy chicken and fried rice as a meal.
