The place isn't being kept clean much, but the food is still pretty good. My biggest complaint, is they don't ever have the grill very hot...they don't get a good scald-ee cook on grill. read more

Returned after 4 years. Some things were a little different, but over all good value if you're hungry. Choose your own ingredients, then your own sauces and oils and it will be grilled by a cook. Hot and flavorful. Other items are available but this is fresh and tasty. Needs a little booth replacements and some updating, it's kinda dark inside. It would give it a better vibe. read more

The server was fine, but the condition of the grill while our food was being cooked was absolutely appalling. Really disgusting conditions. When Leron was the owner, it never looked like this. You can really tell there's new management. Service levels have even gone down because it used to be busy at lunch even on a weekday like today but it's barren. read more

HuHot Mongolian Grill - Grill - Asian Fusion Near Me - Springfield, Missouri

HuHot should tell their customers that when they pay for their food then their waiter will stop serving them, even if other members of their party are still eating at this All You Can Eat grill. Once we paid our ticket, our waiter ignored us for the rest of the time we were still sitting there. We were still eating and talking and not once did the waiter come over and ask if we wanted refills on our drink or anything else. read more

Service was a little slow but ther guy was new and was really nice working with a new system he did great the food was wonderfully though

Nobody in front to greet when I was there. After several minutes a girl came up and seated me in the very corner of the restraunt. Said my waiter would be right with me. After 8 or 9 minutes of sitting there the hostess came back and got me a water since the waiter haven't even been there yet. Mind you the restraunt had a total of 4 table in it when I arrived. An empty reatraunt if you will. I finally go to get my food. After I was finished eating the waiter who had not been by me once finally came by to refill my water and bring me my check. He said he would be back in a minute to take my payment. This was at 11:57. At 12:23 I hold up my receipt and start waving it as it had been almost a half an hour since I last saw my waiter. I just want to pay and leave. I then find out they do not accept tap to pay or chip readers. Its 2025 who doesn't accept those forms of payment. Anyway, I ask for a manager, because at tis point its been a terrible experience through and through. The manager comes up and promptly ask me how im going to pay before I even say a word. I said why dont we start with this whole experience and then let's work out how we will take care of the bill. I dont get 3/4 of the way through explaining my experience before she snatched the bill up and tells me to leave and never come back. Why? Because I asked why it took almost a half and hour from the time I recieved my bill and was able to get my inattentive waiters attention? I was not raising my voice i was just trying to explain my situation and your management acts like that? She doesn't have to ever ask me to not come back, because I will do that all on my own. I will also warn others about your service and hostile manager. Damn right I made a scene after that... absolutely unbelievable experience.. read more

My whole family loves this place. Service is hit or miss, but it's a Mongolian grill where you pick your dish and they cook it in front of you. Given that I have a large family it's a fast easy way for everybody to get what they want. My kids love picking out their own food and because everything is grilled it's a nice healthier option from fast food. It's fun to experiment with the different sauces. This is a family favorite that I will continue to visit. read more

I absolutely love HuHot. Superior to other similar Mongolian grills that set limits on portions and have so much less to choose from. Multiple meat options beyond chicken, beef and pork - things like sausage, Turkey, shrimp and more. So many vegetables. They have at least 20 different sauces and they have multiple buckets of same sauces plus things at the end to add like soy sauce, sesame seeds, pepper, nuts etc. The service is fast and their grill is bigger than theirs competitor's. Highly recommend. read more

Just tried to come in to try to eat and suddenly potatoes and tofu are gone. I'm a vegetarian and tofu is one of my only protein sources. Why did this get removed? It was there not long ago! Note 8/5/23: Thanks we'll try again. My husband did ask that day but was told she hadn't ever seen those items there by the person he spoke to. Appreciate it! Raising rating back up. read more

Today was the first time I've eaten here and it was good! Service was excellent. My only criticism is that if you are the type of person who eats small amounts, it's a bit pricey; but if you like the all you can eat deals, this is a great choice. I'd definitely come back! read more

Coolest. Place. Ever. This was my first time at any Mongolian grill and HuHot did not disappoint. My friends and I walked in and were seated immediately. After the waiter explained how the restaurant works we jumped up ready to get our first plates. It's a buffet style grill. You choose your noodles, toppings, and sauces. The cool thing is that they have tons of options and even have little recipe cards if you need ideas. I decided to make it up as I went. Usually I'm pretty picky, but everything was labeled well so I wasn't nervous about trying anything. You can go up as many times as you want and we definitely took advantage of that. If not for the food then for the banter from the cooks. They had three cooks around a giant circle grill and they were hilarious. I could sit and listen to them all day. They got us all involved in the conversation and made the experience even more fun than it already was. I wish I lived closer to a HuHot grill - I'd go all the time! read more

HuHot Mongolian Grill - a plate of noodles with meat and broccoli - Asian Fusion Near Me - Springfield, Missouri

First time to eat there and we loved the experience. The waitress and the cooks at the grill were very friendly and fun. The selection of vegetables and sauces were extremely good. The grill cooks fixed our selections to perfection. I was disappointed in the meat selections. The beef was very fatty and the chicken was terrible. The fried cheesecake filled rangoon was really good. Overall, it was good and a fun dining experience. Oh, and it is all you can eat, so, we came away stuffed. read more

Nasty horrible service. I cannot say that I will return to this restaurant ever again. 1st I would have been much better off going to a nice sit down habachi grill environment where the guy cooks it in front of you and entertains you for the same price this place charges you to make your plate and then cook it on a nasty grill that is caked on with previous meals cooked by 3 guys who keep scraping the spatula along a dirty Pan below the habachi grill repeatedly as they cook your food with other people's food. Not to mention that I had to get-up-and-get my own drinks and straw because the waitress was too busy to even consider coming back in filling up my cup or giving me to strong to begin with. $14.99 a person plus $2.29 for a drink. When we spoke to the manager about the issues that we had he was apologetic yet didn't seem like I cared. When we said we wouldn't be returning again he didn't seem to care about that either or the fact that we said we would not be recommending it to anyone and that we would be putting about review online seemed to not matter. read more

The service my girlfriend and I got, tonight was the WORST we've ever gotten in any restaurant in town. The portioning was below subpar and the wait staff was hedious. Our server tried to over pay us our change from a $50.00 dining bill and when confronted about it, attempted to argue with us about it. The server never introduced herself to us, and when I brought up a issue regarding a food item I had ordered not potentially having been cooked properly, she didn't bother offering us a replacement or refund for it. When our meal concluded, had to signal her 3x's to get her attention, before she brought our check to us. This is the LAST time, I will be dining at Hu Hot, for a very long while, they just lost a valuable set of customers due to their service, tonight!!! WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!! read more

Huhot grill is a good place to eat it the meal I had was really good I think that it was the best place the I have ate in a while. I give it

I would just like to start this review by saying this could have been WAY better. We went to HuHot because it sounded like a fun unique experience. It was not fun it was not unique and it was not a experience. It was a waste of time and money. For my group of 3 people it was over 50$. This is kinda set up like a buffet where you go and pick out what you want and then you bring it over to the cooks and u know them cook ur bowl. The two guys that cook our bowls are very nice. and the service is overall very nice. good people bad food. to be honest not sure how this place has been around this long. The sauce bar is sticky gross and drenched. I sat down in my booth and forst thing i noticed is how nasty the walls are. I was sat next to the bathrooms witch is not a good place for any kind of table or restaurant. And some guy goes in there and u can hear him blowing up that poor toilet. then the door opens and u can smell it.... Do I have to say more?? There is so much MSG in the food. I kinda felt like that guy in the bathroom when i got home... mean less to say I will NOT EVER be going back to huhot. read more

This restaurant has gone down in service, cleanliness and food bar was uncared for. We use to come here often but I think this will be the last time. There was no salt and pepper on the table, the sauce bar was sticky and drenched with sauces and no attempt to clean it up even though the restaurant was not busy! So sad! read more

I'm not a frequent commenter but I was SO VERY IMPRESSED I had to speak up! I saw the cooks take so much precaution, twice, for guests with food allergies. They really went above and beyond. AND THEN, a woman near me had gotten some raw bean sprouts from the self serve area and when a cook noticed she didn't want them cooked, she offered to get FRESH ones from the kitchen just in case the ones she had were cross contaminated! Amazing, thoughtful, well-trained staff! And the food was great also!! read more

So disappointed:( tried this for the first time and it was just a bad experience altogether. First, while we were waiting for our food to be cooked they open the bottom of the wok and take out a bucket full of the dirty water they use to clean the wok and eggshells. So gross! How are you supposed to eat after seeing that? While I was waiting I noticed my shoes stuck to the floor, it was so sticky they dont clean the floors. Second, they barely cook your food. They leave it on there for the shortest amount of time and the wok doesnt give off a lot of heat so its just steaming on there for a little. Everything tastes undercooked even the meat which is dangerous. It also has no flavor no matter how much sauce you put on there. Ok last but not least, and the nastiest part is my brother in law found a hair in his food. We couldn't run out of there fast enough. Never again. I miss Changs Mongolian in Portland OR so much read more

HuHot Mongolian Grill - Undercooked and everything lacks flavor - Asian Fusion Near Me - Springfield, Missouri

HuNotGoingToEatThereAgain! My wife and I arrived at HuHot hungry, and were seated quickly. Unfortunately, the speed in which we were seated was the only thing that went right that evening. After waiting at our table for roughly five minutes with no interaction from the waitstaff, I flagged a guy down to order some drinks. He seemed genuinely concerned that nobody had taken our drink order yet, and was quick to make us happy. I'm willing to overlook the poor service aspect of our dinner, because the restaurant is new, and the staff is likely still being trained. Fine, whatever. Plus, I have plenty more pressing issues to complain about. Here's how HuHot works: First, you're seated and (hopefully) asked for your drink orders. Then you're off to the buffet line where you pick what you want in your stir fry. Here's where things turned sour. You grab a bowl and head to the first stop in the buffet line: the proteins. Thin strips of chicken, beef, shrimp, and salmon sit frozen -- yes, FROZEN -- in pans waiting to be selected. Frozen. WTF? Even people with the most basic culinary knowledge know that you don't cook frozen meat, you thaw it first. Otherwise you end up scorching the outside to get the frozen inside cooked to temperature, resulting in a jerky-like consistency. (And yes, the beef had the consistancy of a bag of Jack Link's.) Aside from the culinary disgrace of the meat situation, it's simply unappetizing to look at a giant bucket filled with frozen meat. What a bad way to start the experience off. The next stop on the line is your noodle choice. That's right -- if you want a rice-based stir fry, you're out of luck. Your only option is is 3 different types of noodles. (After I sat down with my stir fry completed, I noticed the menu mentioned something about asking for a bowl of rice, which may or may not cost extra, but I digress...) I chose the standard chinese noodles, and moved onto the veggies and sauces. I piled my bowl as high as humanly possible with mushrooms, onions, carrots, and other veggie delights, and poured the recommended 4-5 ladles of my sauce choice into the overflowing bowl before making my way to the community cook top. At this point, you hand your bowl filled with veggies and frozen meats to the "chef" who takes it over to a large, flat cook top where everyone else's dishes are also being cooked, community style. You stand around and watch them toss and turn your selection, and he hands it back to you when it's done. This will most likely be the point in the night when you say to yourself, "I waited in line for 15 minutes for THIS?" as you look down at your once bountiful-looking selection of vegetables that has been cooked down to a pile of stir fry who's portions make it look like it belongs on the kid menu. Pro tip: fill two bowls up on your first run-through, otherwise you're going to have to go back through the entire lengthy process again (yes, you can go back as many times as you want for the $11 cover charge) when you're finished with your first tiny portion -- and I'm no fat ass. I suppose I should tell you about the worst part of the meal now. Both times I went through the process and had my stuff stir fried, I found bits of other people's veggie/meat selection in my own when it was handed back to me after cooking. Both times! That's not an anomaly, folks. And worse, the second time, someone's discarded shrimp tail made its way into my meatless stir fry. This is when I stopped eating, asked for the check, and left. Disgusting. The bottom line: HuHot is a poorly-executed novelty. You might have the urge to try it out, but I'd be surprised if you walk away satisfied. The fact that you can return to the buffet as many times as you want for $11 makes the price reasonable, but the quality and condition of the food you receive is mediocre at best. Include the fact that the service is horrible, and you've got yourself an awful night out. Have fun! read more

HuHot Mongolian Grill - Take note of the nasty spatchulas and srrounding gunk. - Asian Fusion Near Me - Springfield, Missouri

Wow, from the reviews I see this is either a love it or hate it kind of place. I'll give it a solid 3.5, rounded up to 4 because others are so silly and mean. (Hello - you can't judge a restaurant in MO by Cali standards.) Well, Imma try to give it a fair shake. I went tonight with my cousin and a friend of hers and we all had an alright experience. I didn't think it was expensive as it's basically a clean, new, upscale all-you-can-eat Mongolian grill that only cost $12 a person for dinner. I noticed the other menu items were expensive but, we didn't order any of those. Solves that problem. Now, I was surprised to see the meats were frozen but, it didn't take away from the fun and flavor so, I was ok with it after a few seconds of thought. I liked that they had menus of sauces that you could mix and well written descriptions that included things like spiciness and hidden flavors. I had 2 small plates, both of which turned out well enough. Mostly though, it's the fun of doing everything yourself and then turning it over to the fun of the grill. My tip is to take 2 bowls and load the first with items that take longer to cook (meats, sturdy veggies, noodles) and the second with delicate items that you flash fry (spinach, bean sprouts, cilantro, etc). They'll seperate it for you and cook it to order. :) I wouldn't rush back as I prefer Soo's for Korean BBQ to Mongolian BBQ but, definitely wouldn't mind going back with a group of friends if they wanted. PS If you throw a dollar or 2 in the cook's tip jar, they'll appreciate it. :) Might see ya there! read more

Very, very loud ambience. The staf are yelling HuHot every 5 minutes. Then there is the Clanking of of metal all the time. Yes, the entire time we were there, we could hear loud metal clanking. Then they are pushing mask agenda on TV along with fight club on TV. You get to pick out your own food, get your own food then wait 20 minutes for your food. Your get the joy of standing while waiting for your food. So, ultimately, you pay them to have you go up to the counter, pick out your food which you stand around and wait for. The bus boy came over and wiped the table next to me off onto the floor and never picked it up the mess. After several minutes one of their staff walked over the 6 pink packs of artificial sweetener, chops sticks and straws, I told the waiter about the bus boy and then he picked up half the mess on the floor. The good news is the food was good. Not bad, not great. Hardly worth the wait. read more

Delicious tasty food - and you get to choose it all! Parking: This is part of the mall. On a holiday, it can be packed! Atmosphere: Super casual. People wear sweats or dress up. Service: The wait staff are attentive and constantly get refills for one's drinks. The cooks are always friendly. Food: I love this place, since I can pick the food I enjoy as well as all the sauces. The buffet bar includes various meats and eggs. The veggies include bamboo shoots, celery, carrots, and more, all chopped so they will cook quickly. Drinks: Various sodas and sparkling water. One can order various drinks with vanilla and cherry. read more

At first glance, this place seems real hip, up to date so I was like this is going to be good. Our waitress was really good very attentive. Like the other reviews, yes the meat is frozen boo frekin who! You should've done your research yo. The buffet comes with either a salad or soup. I decided to go with the egg drop soup, and it was crazy salty. Goodness! I like the concept of creating your own meal and placing it on this huge grill and having it come out super hot. I just have one dislike about this place. The grilling area, was super dirty, and it was just hard to look at anything else. But all in all, the food was A-Ok. Was it worth an hour drive? No. Would I eat there again? Probably, but not anytime soon. read more

So disappointed in about every aspect of this visit. Long wait times, not enough wait staff, waitress took forever and then took half our order and left. I had to track her down to finish our order (and I'm talking the basics here - like drinks). Lines were long because they ran out of bowls and people just stood around until more came out - no apologies - just standing there like they didn't know what to do. Food was over cooked. Showed the manager - at first he said it was normal and then said it wasn't and the grill was too hot. Said he would provide a discount - gave us $3 off a $90 meal. Let's not even get in to Covid19 precautions - just poor. Not returning. No one seems to care, poor service, food quality was bad. Save yourself a bad experience and don't go. read more

I used to go here all the time but I am never coming here again because the manager kept touching me and my mom without my permission even after I asked him to stop.
