I had heard and seen SO much about this place and just had to try it when i was there! This was probably one of the best ice cream shops I've visited! The ice cream was amazing, and they have a variety of unique flavors! Love that they had samples outside the shop so that you can try them and know what you want before you even get in to order. The scoop sizes are a pretty decent size (sadly i have no pictures... it was so good i ate it all before i could snap any). I would say that only downfalls are how long the line was and it was just a tad pricey- but then again, everything in that area in lol. However, I would definitely go back. Good flavors. Large scoops. If you get at least the small size, you can choose 2 flavors for your scoop. The chocolate malt I had was either not given to me, or it tasted nothing like malt, still tasty as a plain chocolate flavor though. Kinda spendy, 5 bucks for a small scoop, over six for two. They use all compostable serving materials. The line moves pretty slow with people taking samples and deciding what to order. The bathrooms are clean, the tables are not. In a good location though, right by the garage, so you can use this place as a purchase point to get parking validation, which lasts for a few hours. read more

Just so you know these are giant adult ice cream cones. Like bigger than any human ever needs. (Like Huge) Truth be told it is Great quality ice cream! Love the fact they are making the waffle cones on site. My issue is the cones are not kiddie size and they are so unreasonably large that I had to buy a kiddie size cup for the kiddo. Of course, that didn't go down very well, because I had to tell him that he wasn't getting a cone halfway through the very long line. I think it would be easy enough to make a small cone and i imagine I wasn't the only one having this frustrating conversation. I'll update my review to a 5 stars once a kiddie cone is invented. This ice cream shop is delicious. As you soon as you walk in you're greeted with the sweet smell of fresh waffle cones. I am someone who eats dairy free ice cream and was very satisfied with the amount of choices and flavors. I tried two and ended up getting a single cone with both coconut and chocolate chip! It was so good in the waffle cone. I would definitely suggest this for dairy free lovers as well as those who love dairy! My friend and I were both very happy. She got the almond poppy seed which is not dairy free. I'll definitely need to come back for more this summer! read more

Best ice cream ever! They have a few flavors all the time and then a few others that rotate. I love the lavender and almond pistachio! Their waffle cones are also amazing. Expect a bit of a line (especially on warm summer days) but it moves pretty quickly. read more

Behind the building is the Ruston Point Plaza, with an elaborate spray pad, skate park and playground. I'm not really a big ice cream fan but omg I can never leave Ruston point without first getting ice cream here! Best ice cream ever!! I always get a split single of the lavender and then another specialty flavor for the day. The cones are delicious--you can smell them from a mile away, and their portions are huge and affordable. Get your card stamped for every scoop and eventually get a free scoop! Yay! read more

My mom and I took my son here earlier hoping to get him something dairy free since my friend who is vegan recommended them. He has a dairy, egg, and peanut allergy but I work around it. I was disappointed to learn that all of their dairy free options were out close to 7pm and they're open until 11. We had to go across town to bask in Robbins to get something for him. Luckily they weren't busy and had four choices. If y'all have ever had to calm down a child who was excited to get ice cream but had to tell them sorry it's all gone you know how it feels. My advice would be to keep something on hand just Incase because I know we weren't the only guests inquiring about that after it was sold out. The volume of customers have increased dramatically in that area and you guys should really keep up with that. read more

My first time here and my last. Their ice cream is good, but nothing special. Their customer service is poor. I was a last to order in a group of six and everything had already been paid for including a generous tip. First, they mess up a simple order for a single serve in a cone by serving it in a cup. They do charge extra for the fresh waffle cone. No big deal. When I reminded them that I had ordered a cone, he stuck a cone on top of the ice cream in the cup and handed it back to me. I gave it back to him with my compliments and walked away. There was no attempt at rectifying their mistake or customer recovery. I lost my appetite for the ice cream and ever returning to this store. read more

I didn't love the ice cream. It was good but nothing exceptional. Between my husband and myself we tried three flavors (roasted banana, coffee, and vanilla) each of which had good flavor but an icy texture. Had we waited in line long I would have been extremely disappointed. Otherwise, the employee scooping the ice cream was extremely pleasant to everyone he interacted with and seemed genuinely happy to be working there which speaks volumes. Cost is typical for ice cream shops these days. We may try this place again but won't go out of our way to stop in. read more

Ice cream is average and their waffle cone isn't anything special. I prefer Molly Moons or Salted Straw, as their flavors are much more robust (I wouldn't go as far as comparing it to Molly Moons). Location definitely helps the reviews since it's located within point Ruston. There is always a line and somehow they can't figure out how to quickly service customers. If you must try ice cream social and check it off your list, I'd suggest going to the other location in Tacoma, so you don't have to wait in line for average ice cream. read more

Yum! Excellent ice cream, and housemade. Shared a waffle cone with roasted banana, strawberry and coconut cinnamon with a friend to save money. The 2 scoops were huge and was more than enough for the 2 of us. Our favorite was the strawberry. The coconut cinnamon is dairy free and delicious. You'd never know it wasn't made with cream. Only downside was the long line. It was Saturday evening. It took us about 20 minutes to order, and got much longer after we got in line. read more

This review is not so much about the ice cream as it is about the experience. Stood in line on a hot summer day way too long. Their process of getting ice cream is too inefficient. Someone exec of this company should go to Salt and Straw to get a better idea on how to make a happier customer. The choices were slim, but good. The kicker was after standing in line for a half hour, there were 2 girls obviously friends of the gal behind the register, who came in through a back door from further back in line than I was, whispered to the gal behind the register, who then went to scoop two servings of ice cream, signaled to the gal in the back of the line, she and friend came in the back door to sit and eat their ice cream. After they ate their ice cream, they slipped some cash to the cashier. We notified the shop. I was pretty miffed after standing in line so long, and to see the line longer when I left...wasn't cool. Will probably never go back because of that, and besides found the Salt and Straw to have integral employees that were happy and cared about the company they worked for. Too bad... read more
