Not sure if this stand is still in business at the moment at the Waterfront Market at Ruston since…read moreit's not currently listed in the directory, but will say that they made a decent couple scoops of gelato when I tried them last summer. Had the cookies and cream and tiramisu and they were creamy and tasted fittingly to their names. The former had chunks and crumbles of chocolate sandwich cookies and the latter imparted a pleasant coffee liqueur flavor. Their products include mainly gelato in about 18 flavors, including popular ones like mint chip, chocolate, sea salt caramel, creme brûlée, and raspberry sorbetto. The bourbon apple pie and maple pecan caught my eye and would be flavors I'd like to try next time if they're around. They also carried about a dozen flavors of fudge in some creative flavors like caramel macchiato, cotton candy, black cherry bourbon, and dark espresso. Rounding out the assortment was about a dozen different flavors of chocolate truffles, plus a selection of other chocolates. There was one staff member manning the stand, she was friendly though our interaction was brief. The stand itself was neat, organized and clean, the printed sign hung on the back wall of the stand made me think this was a relatively new business trying to get its feet off the ground. There's seating at tables in a shared open area used by multiple stands/restaurants. Bathrooms are shared with the market facilities and parking is located directly in front of the market.

One of your staff threw a fit when I said my son had a peanut allergy. She assumed my cousin, who was with me, was my child She didn't bother to ask or listen when I tried to explain, and then threw the ice cream away with a really poor attitude. I love your ice cream and I've been coming here for years, but this experience left me feeling disrespected and unwelcome. If you're a parent with a child with an allergy, I would highly recommend to reconsider going here. Im very disappointed.

Well I looked at what they had at Swirl and mostly very interesting items like: fried oreos, fried cheesecake, fried banana and other cold treats like ice cream, etc. So I got a fried cheesecake with ice cream topped with swirls (chocolate). The shop is small with seats inside (a dozen?) and a few more out front. The day we visited three sorbetto flavors (at least 3) were available plus all the gelato. I started with a small cup of sorbetto, half lemon, half strawberry. This lemon is deliciously tart. I was so happy. The strawberry is naturally sweet and flavorful. Neither was overly sweet and they were very refreshing. We purchased a pint of chocolate to take with us. I am soooo glad we did. The chocolate flavor is so rich. Again, not overly sweet. It has a pudding like texture yet it's so light. I can't explain it. It's just sooo good. A drink cooler is at the back with water and other beverages. One bathroom for customers. Ask for the door code. The price does reflect the quality and in this case it's a fair trade imho. The gentleman who assisted us was very patient while we decided what flavors to try and was happy to speak about gelato. Credit cards accepted. The risotto was the best risotto I have ever tasted! I am not a fan of risotto and I had some and took some back home to LA. The ravioli, the green beans and the lasagna was also very good. I wish I transferred my food to another plate before they had to pack up their plates and silverware. It would have been a great midnight snack. I know they do not have regular open hours for just walk in purchase, but rather, they're custom order type business, but I have yet to place any custom orders so I cannot speak to that experience. What made me write this review is how accurate the owner (Brianne) described cake and desserts in the description and the baked goods taste matched 200% of the description. The pistachio cake was out of the world, so was the whoopie pie!!! I got to meet Brianne in person and she was very friendly, and was kind to explain everything about each of her baked goods she had out that day. I've tried their baked goods from pop tarts to cookies to housemade Twinkie and the creation and taste are unmatched. Single serve baked goods were more on pricier side, but well worth every bite. I would definitely order custom baked goods from here, knowing the quality and taste of products from this shop!!! Currently, you can find Spilled Butter baked goods at Cosmonaut coffee, Outer Dark Coffee, and at Tacoma Farmers Market (also known as Tacoma Broadway Farmers Market) from time to time. Enjoy!!!
