Sunshine (some times) + ice cream = perfect combo I've visited plenty of times, and usually there will be a long line, but it moves fairly quickly. The menu is always changing, so there is something for everyone. The smell of homemade waffle cones fill the air and the ice cream is so creamy. Seating inside is limited, but enjoying your scoop outside by the water is part of the experience. The staff is always kind and patient, as I try all the flavors. Plus, there's cute photo ops throughout the shop.
When you walk by the smell of the freshly made waffle cones just lure you in. Depending on when you come and how the weather is, there can and cannot be a long line. There is indoor seating which is a nice option and it seemed to rotate nicely. The ice cream was absolutely delicious. The ice cream had the perfect texture and was so smooth. We got the Valhalla Coffee which had a really nice coffee flavor. They have everyday flavors and today flavors. The today flavors rotate so it's nice that you can sample before committing to a flavor.

The waffle cones were the perfectly cooked. Service was good and workers were attentive. The inside was clean and had bright decorations.

The line was very long, given it was a Sunday and it was sunny. But I decided to wait it out for a treat. I ordered the cookies & cream and mint stracciatella in a waffle cone, which was solid. The day I visited, they didn't have many chocolate flavors, which was slightly disappointing since I normally go for chocolate flavors than fruity ones. But the flavors I ordered were good. They have rotating flavors, as well as their standard ones that are always there. If you're looking for ice cream or dessert at Point Ruston then Ice Cream Social has your back. I was told by the employees that the lines always are long when the weather is nice, but if you haven't tried Ice Cream Social while you're in the area, it's worth trying at least once. Support local and treat yo' self!
Stumbled upon this cute little ice cream shop in Ruston right near the waterfront. Figured it had to be good since there was a pretty long line when we arrived. Overall we were pleased with what this shop had to offer and we will likely come back again next time we are in the area. Service was fast and the line moved quickly. They also have a variety of flavors to choose from which is a plus so everyone in your family can find a scoop they'd like to enjoy. I tried a peanut butter banana flavor and the only reason why this review is 4/5 stars is because they used fake banana flavoring instead of real banana. There's no substitute for a real quality banana! Hopefully they adjust that recipe and add the real thing so that ice cream flavor can be a bigger hit.

What a delightful little spot for some yummy ice cream. It's set up so well. They have someone in a spot to offer samples of ALL their flavors. I'm the midst if their crazy long line. Everyone was so kind and patient. The ice cream was delicious.
Long lines but totally worth it! The ice cream is amazing here. So soft and creamy. We got vanilla in a cone and I'm still thinking about it. There are a few tables nearby you can eat at. Highly recommend!

I ordered two of their uncommon flavors available at that time: Lemon Ginger Snap: Pieces of ginger bread cookies mixed with lemon ice cream. I loved the combination of crunch and smooth with creamy texture. Salted Caramel: I loved how you're able to taste sweet and salty flavors in every scoop. Workers were very patient and took the time to answer our questions. You'll notice a line that starts from outside, goes inside, and customers stepping out to enjoy their desserts. There are a few spots to eat indoors. Can't miss this cute, quaint shop.

Ice Cream Social was the perfect stop after our walks this summer. It's a cute ice cream shop located on the Ruston Waterfront. The line was super long when we went on a Friday evening. They let you try the flavors while you're in line so that was neat. I ordered the single scoop chocolate mint crinkle cookie in a waffle cone. Line was out the door, but it moved quickly and was definitely worth the wait. The ice cream was incredibly smooth, creamy, and delicious. The staff was friendly and patient, letting us sample as many flavors as we wanted before deciding. They had a great variety of classic flavors, plus unique seasonal flavors that rotate daily. We ordered two double scoops. I chose the strawberry and raspberry sorbets, which were both refreshing and packed with real fruit flavor. This place is very busy. Yes, the line is out the door. However, it moves fast. The ice cream is kinda pricy here but worth it. The waffle cones was very fresh and delicious! The big downside to Ice Cream Social were the employees. They were all grumps. Looks like they all hated their jobs and did not care. Other than that.... I will come here again. read more

Stumbled upon this cute little ice cream shop in Ruston right near the waterfront. Figured it had to be good since there was a pretty long line when we arrived. This is a must try ice cream shop and a perfect addition to the point Ruston area. The indoor dining area is fairly small but there are a ton of outdoor park-like areas just right outside the door. Expect a line, but that is just part of it! Homemade waffle cones are a must-try at least once. read more

We were at Point Ruston. The temperature is hot. Naturally, I gravitated towards the line that leads to the ice cream shop. Ice Cream Social is a small local company. This is their second location. They are very similar to the other ice creameries in the area, such as Molly Moon, Salt & Straw, where they offer standard flavors and temporary flavors. The prices are similar, too. They make their waffle cones in house. The shop is fairly basic, white color decorated. On this hot day, the line is long, but they move reasonably fast. They are well staffed. A separate ice cream station at the front offers free samples; a sign states this is the only place to get samples. I suspect that is a policy when it's busy. Hubby chose coconut match blueberry. I chose roasted banana. Both flavors are excellent. A single is $5.75. My photo is partially eaten. read more
Stopped by for an after dinner dessert while in Ruston Washington. I had the Salted Caramel ice cream in a waffle cone. Just like most hand made ice cream parlors, the taste was amazing and the portion size was good. This store had a line out of the door, however, it did move fast. Samples are given just as you enter the door, so when you reach the counter, be ready to order. The price at this time was eight dollars a scoop, so it's pretty expensive, however, this store is located in a tourist trap area. So be prepared. Give this place a try if you fact ice cream. You won't be disappointed. read more

Terrible experience yesterday. The girl that was working wasn't very welcoming and I asked to try 3 flavors and said you can only try 2. I've never been to an ice cream shop that said that unless they posted we don't do samples. If you go to salt and straw you can have as many samples if you're curious about the flavors. For for the price we paid for 2 scoops as and comes was a little over 16.00. I get people can be tired but if you don't want a job like that. Then maybe pick a job where you don't have to serve customers like stock boxes in the back at a department store. read more

I don't think there is a better ice cream spot in Tacoma! The employees are very kind and the fact they let you sample any ice cream you want makes it super convenient when choosing what you want! I got the poppyseed and lemme tell ya it tastes just like a muffin! The inside smells just like waffle cones and its so simply decorated, love it! read more

Good ice cream shop down by the water. They have a nice variety of ice cream flavors. The girls working were nice & the ice cream shop is in a great location. Not the best ice cream I've had, there were some chunks of ice in it & my cone was a little over cooked with a burnt taste. They have tables you can sit at which was nice on a rainy day. read more

My grandson now believes that anytime we come for a visit from Mukilteo, he gets to go here! It is the highlight of Mimi & Grampyʻs time with him. It is an incredible location; they move you through long lines lightning fast and, all the while, are lovely at customer service. We ADORE the taste testing while in line as each one of us has tried new flavors that we most likely would not order but after tasting you MUST eat!! I like the indoor/outdoor seating, the cheerful colors inside the shop, and the cute card rack and little goodies for purchase or just enjoy while going through the line. I appreciate that as an adult I can get the smallest size serving because while I would LOVE to eat big cones, I can only handle the kid's size in one visit. Thank you Ice Cream Social for helping us grandparents create wonderful memories with our grandkiddos! Keep up the lovely work!! read more

The sun was out today! We decided to take our dog out on a walk today, and we decided to get some ice cream! The line was REALLY long, but honestly, worth it. The shop itself is clean and they have quick service. There was music playing as well, so it was awesome. I got 2 of the mint ice cream flavors, my boyfriend got the banana and caramel flavor. Honestly, all of the flavors were great, I'd go again 100%! I wish they allowed dogs to walk through though, it was such a pain having only one person go in to get the ice cream, while I had to wait outside. Since there's no dogs allowed, and there's a lot of people with dogs outside, they should have a menu outside that is accessible for them! :) read more
We ventured out to Point Ruston and felt the urge for ice cream on a rainy day. We came across Ice Cream Social and decided to give it a try. The place is cute, but small. Once we got our ice cream, there was no indoor seating available so that was a bummer. We enjoyed our ice cream so much I forgot to take a picture of it! I tried the daily flavor of peppermint hot chocolate, my husband got roasted banana and our son got cookies and cream with sprinkles. Overall, we all really enjoyed our flavors. They tasted fresh and were crisp on our pallets as the ice cream melted away. The shop itself is cute with Togo ice cream and merchandise you can buy. We really enjoyed our experience and can't wait to return to try more flavors in the future! read more
