Long line, moves fast. Ice cream was so good. They allow you to sample. We got the waffle cone. Free parking. I think I did the salted caramel and banana brownie. They also offer student happy hour pricing. Def recommend!

Vanilla and strawberry single scoop in waffle cone.

Cute little shop to get some ice cream from if you are in the area. The ice cream was really good. We got strawberry, caramel pumpkin, double chocolate brownie, and vanilla all in wage cones. The waffle cones were the perfectly cooked. Service was good and workers were attentive. The inside was clean and had bright decorations.

This is one of the multiple Ice Cream Socials in the Tacoma area, this one specifically at Point Ruston. It's a popular place for a treat, with various flavors, toppings and some swag. You'll never be unhappy getting ice cream from Tacoma's Ice Cream Social. The first time I spotted Ice Cream Social, I was walking around after checking into my hotel, which was nearby this shop. The line was very long, given it was a Sunday and it was sunny. But I decided to wait it out for a treat. I ordered the cookies & cream and mint stracciatella in a waffle cone, which was solid. The day I visited, they didn't have many chocolate flavors, which was slightly disappointing since I normally go for chocolate flavors than fruity ones. But the flavors I ordered were good. They have rotating flavors, as well as their standard ones that are always there. If you're looking for ice cream or dessert at Point Ruston then Ice Cream Social has your back. I was told by the employees that the lines always are long when the weather is nice, but if you haven't tried Ice Cream Social while you're in the area, it's worth trying at least once. Support local and treat yo' self!

Kids scoop of a peanut butter and banana flavor

Stumbled upon this cute little ice cream shop in Ruston right near the waterfront. Figured it had to be good since there was a pretty long line when we arrived. Overall we were pleased with what this shop had to offer and we will likely come back again next time we are in the area. Service was fast and the line moved quickly. They also have a variety of flavors to choose from which is a plus so everyone in your family can find a scoop they'd like to enjoy. I tried a peanut butter banana flavor and the only reason why this review is 4/5 stars is because they used fake banana flavoring instead of real banana. There's no substitute for a real quality banana! Hopefully they adjust that recipe and add the real thing so that ice cream flavor can be a bigger hit.

It has been a while since the last visit as it's a bit of a drive for me, but as the weather gets warmer, I'm anticipating to get my scoops soon! I describe Ice Cream Social as the beating heart of Point Ruston, with constant lines of people excitingly waiting to get their sweet treats. While you might have to wait in line, I say it's worth it. They have tasty flavours like your classic salted caramel, cookies and cream, mint chip chocolate, among other featured flavours. Their location is also perfect, being next to the waterfront with a beautiful park nearby that you can walk around with your ice cream cone. Best ice cream in Tacoma!

We come here every time we're in Ruston. We love the ice cream and they validate your parking! It's a no brainer. The line is usually a little long, but it's always well worth the wait.

What a delightful little spot for some yummy ice cream. It's set up so well. They have someone in a spot to offer samples of ALL their flavors. I'm the midst if their crazy long line. Everyone was so kind and patient. The ice cream was delicious.

Long lines but worth it

Long lines but totally worth it! The ice cream is amazing here. So soft and creamy. We got vanilla in a cone and I'm still thinking about it. There are a few tables nearby you can eat at. Highly recommend!

The ice cream was so sweat and delicious packed full of flavor. Our favorite was roasted banana . Make sure to add 5he whipped topping and nuts with a cherry for only 50Cents.

We're determined to get ice cream before leaving Point Ruston for the day. Double scoop in cup worked perfectly to keep cool in the summer. Four of us enjoyed our creamy, edible treat. I ordered two of their uncommon flavors available at that time: Lemon Ginger Snap: Pieces of ginger bread cookies mixed with lemon ice cream. I loved the combination of crunch and smooth with creamy texture. Salted Caramel: I loved how you're able to taste sweet and salty flavors in every scoop. Workers were very patient and took the time to answer our questions. You'll notice a line that starts from outside, goes inside, and customers stepping out to enjoy their desserts. There are a few spots to eat indoors. Can't miss this cute, quaint shop.

This is a must try ice cream shop and a perfect addition to the point Ruston area. The indoor dining area is fairly small but there are a ton of outdoor park-like areas just right outside the door. Expect a line, but that is just part of it! Homemade waffle cones are a must-try at least once.

Partially eaten Coconut Matcha Blueberry, Toasted Banana

We were at Point Ruston. The temperature is hot. Naturally, I gravitated towards the line that leads to the ice cream shop. Ice Cream Social is a small local company. This is their second location. They are very similar to the other ice creameries in the area, such as Molly Moon, Salt & Straw, where they offer standard flavors and temporary flavors. The prices are similar, too. They make their waffle cones in house. The shop is fairly basic, white color decorated. On this hot day, the line is long, but they move reasonably fast. They are well staffed. A separate ice cream station at the front offers free samples; a sign states this is the only place to get samples. I suspect that is a policy when it's busy. Hubby chose coconut match blueberry. I chose roasted banana. Both flavors are excellent. A single is $5.75. My photo is partially eaten.

The girl that didn't want to give more than 2 samples.

Ice cream flavors that make no sense but are what the cool kids eat. Yes. Ice cream that is overpriced. Absolutely. Delicious? 100%.

I know they do not have regular open hours for just walk in purchase, but rather, they're custom order type business, but I have yet to place any custom orders so I cannot speak to that experience. What made me write this review is how accurate the owner (Brianne) described cake and desserts in the description and the baked goods taste matched 200% of the description. The pistachio cake was out of the world, so was the whoopie pie!!! I got to meet Brianne in person and she was very friendly, and was kind to explain everything about each of her baked goods she had out that day. I've tried their baked goods from pop tarts to cookies to housemade Twinkie and the creation and taste are unmatched. Single serve baked goods were more on pricier side, but well worth every bite. I would definitely order custom baked goods from here, knowing the quality and taste of products from this shop!!! Currently, you can find Spilled Butter baked goods at Cosmonaut coffee, Outer Dark Coffee, and at Tacoma Farmers Market (also known as Tacoma Broadway Farmers Market) from time to time. Enjoy!!!

Our first experience was quite pleasant--I enjoyed a Bloody Mary (Bunny's Brew) and a burger, while my husband savored some wine along with the spicy pork belly sandwich. We also started with a meatball appetizer. Overall, we appreciated the good service, charming ambiance, and delicious food. Our second visit was even better, especially sitting by the window with stunning views. Once again, the service was excellent, and the food was truly tasty. I had another Bloody Mary (Cooper & Salt Bloody) and spaghetti pomodoro. I can't quite recall what my husband ordered, but I remember sharing a delightful Tiramisu for dessert. By the third time, we came with the family to enjoy dessert after lunch. Most recently, during our fourth visit with friends, we found that the service and menu remained consistently enjoyable. All in all, this is a fantastic place to dine, with beautiful outdoor views--even on rainy days. My one curiosity is whether the menu changes? Although every visit has been wonderful, seeing some new dishes would make the experience even more special!

Boba was chewy but lacked flavor. Would probably skip boba here in favor of their other drinks like the einspanners. Black Sesame Einspanner - black sesame cream was smooth and the actual black sesame slowly dropped to the bottom, since grounded sesame will result in physical bits. Slightly sweet but not too much. Similar sweetness with the coffee, a solid ca phe with a perfect amount of condensed milk added to soften the bitterness.
