    Garlic steak sandwich

I am not new to IB's. The customer service here is always A1. There has never been 1 time I was not greeted walking into IB's. The food is always hot, fresh, seasoned to perfection and hella good. The establishment is always clean as well. I left before my fries were done. The guy hunted me down and ran me my fries. I literally came out looking for me, tracked me down in my car and gave me my fries. If you see a local or visiting from out of town GO TO IB's you will not be disappointed.

Pepper Steak Cheesesteak was delicious, just needs more cheese and mayo.

Good food, good service, in a To-go ambiance perfectly describes IB. The service was good. I ordered three pepper steak sandwiches with the works. All were made delicious. However, next time I have to make sure there's cheese and extra mayo. I could not taste the cheese. When I eat a cheesesteak, I definitely need to taste the cheese. Other than that, the ingredients were fresh, the bread was soft, and the sandwich hit the spot. I will definitely be back again.

Solid quality and taste. Service was great, smooth and efficient. Value is ok. Only take out available.

I came here cause I saw mango habanero sauce for chicken wings and was sold right away. The people here are friendly and have some great food suggestions. They are a small place and great to go to. They do have a few seats outside on the sidewalk, but more are to come. They are quick when they make your food, and it tastes amazing.

Soggy after walking to the car!! Not even hot!

Horrible, soggy, and within seconds, with hard onion rings that were right from the bottom of the freezer! Never again. Left here and went right back to The Cheese Steak Shop, which I skipped over to try this place out. If I could only have the bread from IB's and the chicken from The Cheese Steak Shop, I would be set!

I showed up hungry and got handed a cheesesteak so big it could probably double as a pillow. This juicy, melty, glorious mess had me wondering if I should eat it... or just carry it around like a trophy (I was able to eat half of my half and still have some left to brag about!) Bonus points for the staff -- super friendly and helped with recommendations without feeling like an upsale. If you want a meal that's doubles as a workout, IB's is your spot. Just grab napkins... lots of napkins.

A bit on the pricey side but overall very tasty. I think if I go back I'll tell them to put everything to the side so my sandwich isn't soggy. Also with them not having any type of seating, you have to walk to find a place to sit and enjoy your food. Oh, I absolutely loved the garlic fries. And if you're sharing, the LRG is ALOT to eat. It was 2 of us and we barely ate half.

Great spot! Came a little before noon on a Thursday and was worried I'd hit a but lunch rush but it wasn't busy at all. There was a guy getting a sandwich ahead of me and then it was my turn. The sandwich was fantastic as usual. Large portions and a big hit with friends. Parking is tough but usually you can find a spot somewhere along the block

Downtown Berkeley has so many great food options that you really can't go wrong. IB's came highly recommended by a friend, and it didn't disappoint. While the sandwiches may seem pricey, the portion sizes make up for it -- the large can easily feed 2-3 people. For my first visit, I tried the garlic steak cheesesteak (regular size). The flavors were good, but I thought there was a bit too much honey garlic sauce, making the sandwich a little too sweet for my taste. That said, it still came together nicely. Next time, I'd probably go for a more savory or traditional option. Parking can be challenging since the area is always busy with foot traffic. We luckily got a spot a couple blocks away and had a pickup order ready to-go to eat in the alley a few restaurants down.

Omg!!! Coming home from the Oakland zoo and we were told about this little hole in the wall Philly spot. I am so glad we decided on stopping by. It was the best Philly cheese steak I have ever had!! We got the regular with mushrooms and peppers. So much flavor. Every bite I took I was like hell yes. This is just a small counter so no inside or outside seating but we just ate it standing outside

Writing this literally minutes after devouring this gas sandwich. At first, I was a little skeptical about the $16 price tag for a regular, but the second they handed it to me and I felt the weight, I was like, "oh yeah, this is worth it." First impressions: it's in a nice part of Berkeley, super close to campus. The place has a clean, minimalist aesthetic, and very tidy inside. No seating though, so definitely more of a grab-and-go spot. I got the spicy steak regular, and the guy making it clearly knew what he was doing. I overheard him talking about his technique, love when people actually care about what they're making. Adds a little extra something, lol. As soon as I opened it up, I was hit with the cheesiest, most packed steak sandwich. Absolutely delicious. If you're on the fence about the spicy option, it's kind of like the spicy sauce from Dyar (not overpowering, just the right kick). Next time I'll probably ask for fewer jalapeños, but other than that? Perfect. Super filling, super satisfying, and the service was clean and responsive. Definitely coming back.

This place is located next to Berkeley campus and conveniently opens late (12 AM or 2 AM). Wanted a place to eat before going to the Greek Theater. Ambiance: The place feels like a very open space, the doors are wide open. There isn't a place to eat indoors so do find a spot outside to eat, there is an area nearby for outdoor seating. Service: The staff was very chill and nice. The vibes were good IB's Original $14 (3/5): I ordered everything on it, but it tasted very bland. I can barely taste the sauces or cheese; it tastes very much like meat and lettuce. The regular size is huge enough to share amongst two people. Garlic house cut fries $5 (4/5): This was good and tasted better than the sandwich. It was crispy but did sog after a bit of time. This only had minced garlic on fries so don't expect it to taste of buttery garlic with cheese shreds. Eating it with ranch did enhance it Sweet chili wings $8 (4/5): Ironically enough this tasted a whole lot better than the sandwich. It was crispy and juicy. The flavor was good and not overwhelming. $8 to feed me with 5 wings would be enough to keep me full. I think this would be a great late-night place for drunk food, maybe I didn't get the right cheesesteak however pretty satisfied with everything else but the sandwich. Ordered a combo along with the wings and it came down to about $30 so it's kinda pricey.

Delicious authentic Philly cheesesteak sandwiches! Lots of creative options. Everything we tried was good. My favorite was the Classic Philly cheesesteak. We also got the garlic steak, surf and turf, onion rings, and tater tots Service was quick. No seating but we didn't have to wait long Decor was cute and emphasized their east coast inspo/roots

It came with a side of coleslaw (3.5 Stars) and spiced honey (3 Stars). They fried a whole breast, it was so large that it over flowed the toasted brioche bun. The only thinking that made it spicy was the homemade spicy mayo, so it wasn't that spicy. I noticed on the menu they have sauces, like Nashville and buffalo. I think next time I'll try one of those sauces to kick up the heat. The cheese I add was not needed, I should have left off. The Fries (4 stars) were coated with potato flour and seasoning, which made a great crispy crust, served hot. The burger was fresh and flavorful--you can taste the quality in every bite. The onion rings were on point too: crispy, not greasy, perfectly cooked. Dipping them into the habanero mayo gave it just the right kick. Definitely recommend that combo. The staff was friendly and kept things cool even though there were only two or three people running the place. The spot itself is small, just a few tables and chairs, with a little bit of Latin music playing in the background, which gave it a nice touch. When I first got there, it wasn't too busy, but by the time I finished, it was filling up. Walked around the block to stretch out, came back 15 minutes later, and the place was packed. What's also impressive is that their fried chicken sandwich was voted one of Yelp's Top 50 Fried Chicken Sandwiches in California, ranking #33 in the state. That's what I'm definitely trying next time. Final verdict: Great burger, great onion rings, friendly service, and a spot worth checking out if you're around University Ave in Berkeley. Two thumbs up from me.

Interesting enough my server Katie who I ordered the food, as well as to-go boxes, asked if I wanted them to-go. Make it make sense. What I don't understand is why I'm charged an additional $2.50 for the lettuce wrap when I'm not even getting the bun. If you're taking something away, what's the justification for adding an extra charge? I could understand a modest upcharge, but $2.50 for a few leaves of lettuce is hard to justify. I can buy an entire head of lettuce for about that price. What bothered me even more was that no one mentioned the charge when I placed my order. It wasn't until I picked up my food and saw the receipt that I realized I had been charged extra. Customers deserve to know about additional charges before they order, not after the fact. When I politely asked why there was a $2.50 charge, the employee simply looked at me and said, "I don't know." There was no explanation, no offer to ask someone else, and no attempt to address a perfectly reasonable question. That level of customer service was just as disappointing as the surprise charge. The burger was excellent, but this experience left a bad taste in my mouth. At this point, I don't plan on coming back. Or maybe I'll just bring my own lettuce next time. Better yet, just give me the burger without the bun, and I'll wrap the damn thing myself when I get home.

First Impressions: Barney's Gourmet Hamburgers…read more Mother/Son lunch date at Barney's Gourmet Hamburgers! Yesterday, while in Berkeley, we decided to try BGH for lunch. Honestly, I can't say enough about how pleasant our experience was. Located in Berkeley, I was able to find street parking with a 2-hour limit close to the establishment. Upon our arrival, we were greeted and given the option to dine inside or on the covered patio. Although it was beginning to rain, we opted for the outdoor seating for the ambience. The fire pit, heated lamps, and the umbrellas really set the tone for a relaxing dining experience. The boys ordered a plain hamburger with curly fries, chicken tenders with skinny fries, and Oreo milkshakes. I decided on the specialty western burger and a Turkish coffee. I was assured the kids' fries would be plentiful, so there wasn't a need to order à la carte. The food was delicious and flavorful with great portion sizes. Our needs were anticipated, kindness exuded from the staff as well as timely servicing. We dined uninterrupted but not neglected. We raced to see who could complete the word searches, rated our food, and enjoyed each other's company while watching the rain fall. 10/10 we would do it again.

They used to be $8.95, then we went three months later and it cost us $26 with tax, no tip for two shakes. That is way too much money for any milkshake and we will never go back.

The owner and staff members were so personable. They made sure we were taken cared of. You just don't get that level of customer service very often! It's a casual space with tons of seating. My absolute fav part of the meal was the dessert. WOW. The peach and strawberry cobbler was so fresh. You can even smell the butter before taking a bite. The vanilla ice cream brought everything together. A bit pricey, but definitely worth the splurge!

It's never been busy whenever I go, even on the weekends. We usually are seated within seconds of walking in. The food is delicious! One thing I would note - anything you add obviously adds onto your bill, but sometimes you don't even notice you're adding stuff cause they're so smooth in upselling your burger don't get me wrong - they are the sweetest people ever! Just surprising seeing an additional 10 bucks being added for like an egg, or side sauce for fries. Will continue going here whenever visiting the area!

I loved mopping up the runny yolks with the English muffin. * Korean Fried Chicken Waffles: This was more like a standard chicken and waffles, but the syrup had gochujang, which made it more Korean-like. I did wish the fried chicken had more of a spice, but nevertheless, still enjoyed the dish. * Pimped up Ramyun: This was like stir-fry noodles with flavorful sauce, veggies, millionaire's bacon, and fried egg. There was so much happening on the plate that I didn't know where to start first. Fortunately, there was no wrong way to start eating this dish. * Waldorf Wasabi Chicken Salad: After all the fried chicken, fried eggs, and millionaire's bacon, this is probably one of the more healthy choices on the menu. The creamy wasabi dressing was delicious. On a side note, the restaurant has *four* bathrooms! You don't need to wait for a bathroom to open up, as you would at restaurants with only one bathroom. I am not saying dining here will cause you to use the bathroom.
