Wow! What an idyllic setting for an Italian evening! I was with a Gate 1 travel group and when we arrived we were given a glass of prosecco or juice for the teetotalers. There were three musicians wandering around playing classic Italian music as well as a few popular songs. The food was fabulous with many options for those with special dietary needs- veg or gluten free. Several bottles of their wine was placed on our tables. This is a nice restaurant in Tuscany Italy. Started off with antipasto: bread, tomatoes, red & yellow roasted peppers, peas, artichokes, lasagna, etc. Next, fresh ravioli stuffed with ricotta and spinach topped with a light white cream black truffle sauce. Also, delicious ragu rigatoni. Then a grilled platter of chicken, sausage, steak and pork. It was overcooked and dry. Tiramisu and panna cotta was delicious! Perfect ending! Service was impeccable! What an incredible evening! We walked into the most charming outdoor garden, then we were greeted with blue champagne, then we were seated in the lovely garden, we then enjoyed a delicious meal while being serenaded. Our Gate 1 tour of Florence took us here, and I totally see why (the $80 was not included, fyi). We arrived when it was dark and cold so the outside was wasted (though I managed to take a couple of pictures) and were met with BLUE prosecco or some bubbling wine at the door. After a toast we sat at a long table and enjoyed a buffet of antipasti. This was the 3rd day of the tour so we were still all getting along well. Another group was sharing to room with us but it wasn't intrusive. There was pasta with red and white sauce, a choice of meats and fish for the non-meat eaters. Between courses, we were serenaded by a singer (who had CDs for sale of course). The red wine was great, but we didn't get any white wine. They sold the wine there too, but it wasn't a hard sell, so we bought a couple of bottles. We had panna cotta with strawberry sauce and tiramisu for dessert. It was a festive but intimate setting, almost basement like but still pretty. read more

This place was amazing. On a tour throughout Italy, me and about 34 other companions took a bus through the lovely countryside to reach this quaint, relaxing place. They served us bruschetta, with truffle-sauce and ragu pasta following, as well as different types of grilled meat (chicken, pork, steak, sausage) that of which were all delectable. The service was amazing--my waiter served me even more pasta when I requested it--considering it follows an almost omakase style. The ambiance was very tranquil, with relaxing music being played live as we dined and singer even spooled out their melodies to us as well! It was a bit warm to dine outside, but they served impeccable dessert, main courses, appetizers, and beverages. I did not see the interior, but it is designed to represent a family-style villa. Overall, an amazing experience and definitely will come back next time I visit Italy. A great tourist area as well as very instagrammable place. Come here if you're internet savvy or just love a home style Tuscany meal. Overall score? 97/100 P.S.: They have vegetarian options, but their limoncello tastes like cough syrup. Yep, I arrived on a bus provided by a tour company and this dinner was part of the tour. Needless to say, expectations were low... Having low expectations, as you know, can be a wonderful thing, and this establishment proved it. They exceeded our expectations wildly. We arrived and were met by a man very proud of the food he was preparing. He came and greeted us just after we got off the bus (and there was more than one big group arriving on the night we were there) and he simply bowled us over. He was loud, energetic, fun, and willing to have a good time...things were off to a great start. As you can see from the pictures, the food was served in abundance. The first course were served from a buffet like set up, and this could have been the entire meal. Imagine, if you will dear reader, a table with at least 12 different plates of vegetables and other delights to get you started. It was very nice. The second course was a house made ravioli infused with truffle. I'm salivating now thinking about it, and, for this course I was served five ravioli. You'd think that was no big deal, but the next table over only got three.... I felt so special. It's important to note that as part of our dinner wine was flowing freely and so the rest of the meal was a bit of a blur, but I'll try to help. Trying to be prudent, I skipped the early sweet wines to focus on the red wines of the region. I thought it odd that they were trying to have me drink a blue wine, and that's no joke, it was florescent blue ( an unnatural color that made me a bit squeamish ). But the red wines were so worth it. As you might think, somewhere during the course of the evening a six pack of red wine was purchased to be shipped to my home. I haven't seen the wine yet, it's only been a few days, but I have seen the receipt and remember the purchasing process. The course after the ravioli was a plate of passed meats, grilled sausage, chicken, etc., and they also tasted great. I wasn't sure, and so I had multiple tastes....and I'm sure I thought that the meat paired well with the reds. Such a quaint and welcoming restaurant. The staff was very attentive to our whole group. We were immediately served drinks when we first came in. This place is known for their Blue bubbly, which is quite good. They have a big selection of wines to choose from. Your glass will never be empty , unless you tell the staff that you've reached your limit. Non alcoholic drinks were also available for those who chose not to partake. Antipasti was served in a buffet style. Our group had quite a bit of people that opted for this excursion. They had more than enough to serve us all. They are proud to be known as a farm to table restaurant. Their steak came highly recommended, and was definitely perfect. Side dishes were served family style. With dessert served in the end. My husband an I attended trafalgar tours for our Italian dream honeymoon last April. Our tour guide supposedly knew the owner of this place and said he always brings his groups here for a good time, good food and good drinks. This restaurant is nestled in the forest uphill. Honestly, I don't think we would have ever been able to locate this place by ourselves if our life depended on it. This was the perfect place for dinner after being in crowded Rome. The staff gave us a very warm greeting when we arrived and were guided into their indoor presentation area to review their famous strawberry sizzle and blue sizzle champagne of some sort. They both tasted phenomenal. They take orders in the restaurant and can ship it back to your home state. We had a very delicious dinner while we enjoyed the company of musical entertainers. Beware: the lemoncello shots are really strong. It tastes like lemon pine sol if there was such thing and burns on the way down. read more

Best Italian dinner I had in Italy. Such a nice outdoor garden area. The food was excellent, this was an add on excursion with Trafalgar totally worth every penny. When we arrived we were greeted with the blue wine so delicious. Then unlimited wine with dinner all excellent we even ordered 6 bottles to be shipped home. This is one of those places that is awesome if you are here with a group. If I was dining w/o a group I am not sure how much I would love that it is overrun with all the tour busses. The overall atmosphere is very laid back, like a meal on a Tuscan Farm. We sat at tables outside under canopies and were served course after course of hors d' oeuvres, pasta, meats and dessert. Plus plenty of wine! We were also treated to a roving singer and guitar player that serenaded us all night. I like the atmosphere and loved their wine (especially the strawberry one!). We enjoyed the optional Tuscan Dinner on our Globus Italy's Great Cities tour in the Florence suburbs at Ristorante I Tre Pini. The restaurant is located out from town, some distance beyond the Piazzale Michelangelo scenic overlook. Quite a production it was, beginning with a welcome and introduction by the chef! The Anitipasto course was served family style with a number if items from which to choose, prosciutto, salami, fried mozzarella, fried olives, and a meat paste on bread among them. The pasta dish was ravioli and a rigatoni. Then the main course was Roast Prime Rib of Beef. (Tuscany is an important cattle raising area.) Tiramisu for dessert. This was real Tuscan cuisine and delicious! Entertainers, including vocalists singing traditinal songs and a guitarist provided a pleasant accompaniment to dinner. Seating is inside and outside the farmhouse that is the basis of the restaurant. We sat outside under large unbrellas as did other groups. read more

Driving to this place is beautiful, the windy roads of Tuscany are breath taking. The restaurant is basically an old Tuscan farm. We were greeted with some blu sparkling wine, that I did not care for, however most people that were on the tour with us like it. There was a band that played for us the entire night, so that was pretty entertaining. A variety of "appetizers" were served at the beginning of the meal it was a large assortment of various things, from marinated olives, to grilled vegetables and a variety of sauces. I have asked one of the servers to explain the dishes and she was very annoyed by the question. Then some red table wine was served that was average in quality, towards the end of the meal they brought out a better red wine to the table. Two types of pasta were served, the one that had truffle oil in it, it was pretty good, I did not acre for the red sauce pasta. After that some grilled meat (steak, chicken and sausages) was served that was preserved in salt, not really that good it was dry and overcooked. At the end some kind of desert was served that I didn't really like. This place is very touristy and you are not experiencing the real Tuscany food and wine. read more

We dined here as part of a tour group. The setting was absolutely lovely, the staff friendly and attentive, the food wonderful, and the wine (the wine!!!) absolutely amazing! We tried Tuscan White, Super Tuscan Red, Chianti, and a Sparkling Rose'. There was bottled water (sparkling and still) for the non-drinkers. We were welcomed with a cocktail of Prosecco and Blue Curaçao as we listened to music in the beautiful garden. Then, we were brought inside where we dined on course after course of the most delicious food, with each course accompanied by delicious wine. We started with an appetizer table that had at least 20 different items.... everything from braised vegetables.... to pasta salads.... to fennel with cream, to rice salad.... to olives.... to green salads.... to beans. Fantastic bread and olive oil was at the table. That honestly would have been enough for me, but once our plates were cleared away the first course was served: both (!!!) ravioli with truffle cream sauce and rigatoni with meat sauce. Both were cooked to perfection and delicious. When that course was done the second course of roasted, seasoned potatoes and a mixed grill platter was brought out for the table to share. The potatoes were simple and tasty.... and the meat platter contained mountains of chicken and pork and beef and spicy sausages. I was honestly too full for anything more than a tiny piece of beef and a couple of tiny pieces of potato. For dessert a duo of hazelnut cake and semifredo topped with strawberry purée was served. The former was yummy, but the later was absolutely divine (Yes! I magically got my appetite back. Ha!). As we dined musicians played and the most delightful gentleman serenaded us (and even danced with some of the ladies in our group). What a truly magical evening in Tuscany! read more

This is one of the best restaurants in the region! The filet with chianti sauce, salad, roasted veggies, bruschetta and apple pie are beyond amazing! The meal is so good, you will dream about it until you have the opportunity to return. Only the freshest ingredients and love are put into every plate, and when you taste it, you will know that I Tre Pini is the best place to truly enjoy the Tuscan experience. As for the wine, you cannot leave without having their terrific wine with your meal, sparkling wine that you will want to embarrass yourself and just get a straw for the bottle and not share with others - they can get their own bottle! The Chianti and Tuscan blend are just perfect for for your Tuscan feast! Don't forget to bring a few cases home on your visit, you will fall in love with the wine - trust me! I ate at Ristorant Tre Pini while on a tour and I am still speechless. Being a trained Chef from Johnson & Wales, I will say the food is spectacular. The Owner Chef Libero is a pleasure. When we walked in and let us know to drink as much and eat as much as we could. The antipasto we the length of a wall, then the different courses started coming out and it was endless. Truffle Ravioli, Rigatoni, Grilled Meats, Homemade Sausage, & Diamante Blue, (sparkling wine with a hint of blue curacao for color and taste). The only reason why the setting is loud, they sing opera, then people start to dance. We had a blast interacting with the staff. What impressed me the most, the place was full of locals for Florence. If you ever have a chance to check this place out, do. It is a must. Their reputation throughout is spot on. read more

Sparkling wine, appetizers bar with 2 more sparkling wines, followed by pasta and wine, pasta and wine, meat tray of beef and pork and chicken and sausage.... and wine to pair, then dessert, finished off with limoncello! Me, my wife, her mother and husband were there with a Trafalgar group towards the end of April 2018. It was one of the best times we had on our trip to Italy. The wines, food and company were superb! The staff was very friendly starting with a drink upon arrival to the antipasti to the main courses to the dessert...and all of the wine we could drink. Music and singing and dancing! My husband and I came here as part of an optional tour during our trip to Italy a few weeks ago. It is located a bit of a drive from the city center, but driving through the winding Tuscan hills to get there is part of the experience and lets you see another part of Florence. Upon arriving at I Tre Pini we were greeted with a welcome drink with the restaurant owner that was made from Prosecco, peach, and a splash of Blue Curacao...so delicious! Our meal began with an amazing antipasti spread that took up an entire table...it included bruschetta, all kinds of delicious vegetables, meats and cheese. It was hard not to fill up on this alone, especially the grilled fennel. Then we enjoyed a pasta course with ravioli in a truffle sauce as well as rigatoni. The ravioli was one of the stand outs from the entire meal. The next course was made up of a mix grill that included steak, chicken, pork, and homemade sausage along with a side of potatoes. Dessert was a strawberry cake and tiramisu, both were delicious and it was fun to be able to try small portions of both. The entire meal was served with endless wines, as soon as a bottle was empty they would bring over another one. My favorite was the Volare Pinot Grigio which has hints of pink grapefruit. Throughout the meal there was live music but a very talented guitar player and singer, CDs were available for purchase at the end of the meal. Food and wine was delicious, the staff was excellent, and the best part is you can order wine by the case and have it shipped directly to your home.
